4) Myst
5) Broken Sword Shadow of the Templars
6) Zuma
7) Arvale I&II

Here is imho a very good site for new games and game anouncements. I hope, it's ok to post the link of this (not xda-devs related) site. if it's not, please delete it.
http://www.pocketgamer.org/homeindex.php
Here are my top ten (not 3d and new, but also very nice):
1. ScummVM with DOTT, Monkey Island, etc
2. Handmark Tetris (the original one, better than kevtris but nor for free)
3. Morphgear (Snes, NES, Emulator)
4. Bejeweled 2 (fu**ing adictive)
5. Warfare inc.
6. robo (also very nice game)
7. popperZ (a bomberman clone with bluetooth-multiplayfunctions)
8. sky force
9. arvale I, II
10. Multiplayer Championship Poker (you can play poker like partypoker.com in the internet, very nice)
Hi Bubu23. I like games threads as onew could learn of a new good one, but I'm not sure that there has been any significant increase in the graphical quality of games for the PPC (without a 2700G) for a few years for us to actually try and chart - it just doesn't move on like PCs do.
As an example, my own favourite 3D game isn't new: Flux Challenge.
If we're counting ports from PC, Tomb Raider and Quake too.
Otherwise, a whole series of emulators, incluing MorphGear of course, but other console and micro emulators too, get the most use.
Oh, and EverQuest 1 - 3 I love, kep replaying every now and then, but that's on a 2003SE Blue Angel as can't get it running on WM5 onward (boo).
(Oh, and if anyone comes in with a 'Not another games thread' post, ignore them: it's just like the 'What's everyone's favourite ROM ' threads - loads of people complain, bt there's no point digging for a 6 month-old thread and resurrecting it. And the games threads and most popular ROM threads are more useful than the complainers say. )

HTC games

on the HTC blackstone were missing out on loads of games because we have no d-pad is the no way of creating a touch mini contoller at bottom half of screen?
I hope someone will do it soon, it would be wonderful
if you use the search function you should get results with people posting about about touch controllers that will sit at the bottom of the screen (since almost no game has a native resolution of 800x480). Which is also how you can run various emulators (like nes)
The problem with such a bottom-controller is that the screen is not capable to recognize more than one press, so you can just press one button at once.
Asphalt 4 is available for the HD now. it has a soft pad at the bootom to controll and it looks like gameloft will release more and more games with such an interface specialy for wvga devices.
but the graphic and the gameplay sucks. it's not fun at all. it's not worth a dollar.
Why not invest in a external game pad? It wouldn't be that big and you would only bring it when you know your going to be bored.

Go to Windows Marketplace n get Zenonia
I bought this for £6 when I would usually rather leech n test first.
The reviews and screenies for this adventure persuaded me otherwise.
I must say Zenonia is the BEST game I have ever played as a Native Windows mobile App.
If you ever got on with Zelda on SNES - this is the way forward. I have not had emotional attachment like this to a top down RPG bash the baddies game since......1992!
I would suggest everyone buys it - then hopefully the dev - Gamevil - will release more magic.
(it was an iphone game which they ported over)

Hello. My name is catcraig and I'm a recovering Zeldaholic.
This might be a stupid question, but how did you get an iphone app installed on a winmo phone? I would definitely pay for it if I could figure out how to get it.
it seems gamevil ported the game to winmo, and tp2 is one of the devices they tested on
i think it is available on marketplace

Teeter
Virtual Pool
Resco Brain Games 2009

I have a Touch Diamond 2 so touch only. Can you play this game touch only?
Is there any version of Tetris or Kevtris that works with the tp2? If so is there a virtual d-pad that you have to install also?
Duke Nukem 3D using the spvDuke3d port works quite well. It supports WVGA, but not by default, you have to edit the CFG file.
I use the following settings:
[Screen Setup]
ScreenMode = 1
ScreenWidth = 400
ScreenHeight = 240
Shadows = 0
Password = ""
Detail = 1
Tilt = 0
Messages = 1
Out = 0
ScreenSize = 15
ScreenGamma = 16
(I'm not sure why the width and height are set to half, but that's what gets it to work. Setting it to 800x480 ends up with it going off screen and only a quarter of the image showing up. Perhaps changing screen size would change that?)
Info here on how to set it up for full audio:
http://www.modaco.com/content/smartphone-software-games/109621/spvduke3d-v0-4c-with-sound-music-now/
thanks drdrbuzz. i'll try it.
to add a few more:
warcraft 2
jackpot casino
dupewars
bejewled 2
I have the following games and they work fine:
Prince of Persia
Spiderman Toxic City
Assassins Creed
NBA 2010

Games that work well with N64oid

The Nintendo 64 emulator N64oid was released a couple of days ago. Do you know any games that work well with it? So far, I've had best luck playing Super Mario 64.
Can anyone suggest more compatible games? Let's make a list
Cheers
I don't fancy paying £3.68 for it.
n64oid Game Compatible list
*** 1.1.4 is out and claims fixes for OoT ***
Collated list:
Working and appear playable so far
Working with issues
Not working/major issues
Super Mario 64 *Tested on 1.1.1 and 1.1.2* (got a 2 stars from first level, seemed very playable!)
Zelda Ocarina of Time *Tested on 1.1.1* (Works up till Market)
Zelda Majora's Mask (Works up till North Clock Town)
Lylat Wars *tested on 1.1.1* (flew around first level)
Super Smash Bros *tested on 1.1.1 and 1.1.2* (attacked and defeated link - laggy but working)
Mario Kart 64 *Tested on 1.1.1* (Raced around first circit - lagging but surprisingly working fairly well)
Diddy Kong Racing (first boss - couple of lag here and there but playable)
Pokemon Stadium 2 (started a battle - parts of screen weren't showing properly and c button up/down was inverted, forced close after +/- 5 min)
Perfect Dark *running on 1.1.1* (loaded intro but when going to select 'agent' crashed out')
Perfect Dark *running on 1.1.2* (loaded intro, but crashed at same point as previously - selecting agent)
Perfect Dark *running on 1.1.3* (loaded intro, and got in to the main game - slow though)
Pokemon Stadium 1 (loads intro without sound, then hangs)
Pokemon Snap (game load and all but the analog/dpad couldn't/wouldn't work - may be fixed on 1.1.2)
Goldeneye 007 *Tested on 1.1.1* (crashed out instantly)
Goldeneye 007 *tested on 1.1.2* (very laggy - crashes on intro video (have to skip it with start), glitches frequently, but loaded to Dam level... backgrounds missing though - too laggy to actually play)
Duke Nukem 3D (works pretty well)
Turok 2 (works quite well. Hard to control though)
Paper Mario (won't load)
Jet Force Gemini (closes after landing on the first planet)
Wave Race 64 (Loads up and can whizz around the first course)
Mortal Kombat Mythologies:Sub Zero (doesnt work. Screen is inverted)
Mortal Kombat Trilogy (Hangs sometimes)
Mortal Kombat 4 (Cant see most of the graphics)
Star wars episode 1 racer (can't see most of the graphic (just the higher part show up))
Donkey Kong 64 (Loads intro - crashes)
Banjo Kazooie (Lags)
Banjo Tooie (Lags)
Mystical Ninja (Lags)
Conker's Bad Fur Day (Does not load)
Ridge Racer 64 (textures messed up)
Snowboard Kids (only showed backgrounds)
Yoshi's Story (missing backgrounds and textures)
Star Wars Rogue Squadron (not starting up... never seen a blacker screen in my whole life)
Notes:
I've noticed sometimes the games just crash instantly when loading - but if you load another game first then go back in they seem to load up a bit better - this would explain why goldeneye crashed out when I tested on 1.1.1 and perfect dark did not...
Some games (obviously) work much better on other devices than the Desire - some games and comments above may have been tested on another device so may be a little slower or more problematic on a desire, if for example - tested on a xoom etc.
Some games can be improved (on the desire at least), by upping the frameskip to max - a good example of this is Super Mario 64.
A higher class SD card can improve performance.
Unzipping a game (if zipped) can also help improve performance.
There may also be differences between Euro/US games.

I didn't have much time to actually try them but...
I tried which worked:
Super Mario 64 (got a star from first level!)
Zelda Ocarina of Time (wandered around village)
Zelda Majora's Mask (loaded start screen up)
Lylat Wars (flew around)
Super Smash Bros (attacked Link)
Mario Kart 64 (loaded start screen up)
I tried which didn't seem to work:
Goldeneye 007 (crashed out instantly)
Perfect Dark (loaded intro but when going to select 'agent' crashed out')

If Goldeneye doesn't work, Perfect Dark won't work. Perfect Dark runs on a modified and upgraded Goldeneye engine that really pushed the N64 to the limit, even with the Jumper Pak.
Yeah but Perfect Dark loaded to the log in screen and Goldeneye didn't

Got to the first boss in diddy kong racing, couple of lag here and there but playable.
Started a game in pokemon stadium 2, started a battle (some part of the screen weren't showing properly and C button up/down was inverted) and it force closed after +/-5 min of playing
pokemon stadium 1, seen the intro, without sound, then hang.
Started pokemon snap, game load and all but the analog/dpad couldn't/wouldn't work..
played from a galaxy s i9000m
(oh, and just an idea, maybe we could put the list of working roms in the first post and keep it edited/updated?, just a though )
Keep up the good work!
updated #3 with a list for you
also I just noticed 1.1.2 is out and that may fix the up/down c button issue you mentioned
Thanks for the list! In my experience, most games don't work on the Desire, but the developer luckily updates N64oid every other day or so. Eventually we might be able to play most N64 games with it.
By the way, Duke Nukem 3D works pretty good
Zelda OoT closes on entering Castle Town. Anyone else getting this problem?
Turok 2 works quite well. Hard to control though
Paper Mario won't load.
Jet Force Gemini closes after landing on he first planet.
(Samsung Galaxy S)
I found a larger Goldeneye ROM which seemed to work (albeit slowly). In fact, only Super Mario 64 runs at a decent speed on my Desire. Does it make a difference which ROM I'm using, perhaps?
Mortal Kombat Mythologies:Sub Zero doesnt work. Screen is inverted.
Mortal Kombat Trilogy. Hangs sometimes
Mortal Kombat 4. Cant see most of the graphics.
Star wars episode 1 racer: can't see most of the graphic (just the higher part show up)
if goldeneye is not playable... why buy an emulator if the best game does not work... btw why has there never been a noticable successor to goldeneye (no i do not accept perfect dark)

goldeneye did actually load for me in 1.1.2 - got to the dam and moved about an inch - its progress!
I assume you don't count the Wii Goldeneye remake?
I got about half way through the first level on Goldeneye before I turned it off due to the poor frame rate. I'm hoping it'll run smoother on the Xperia Play, but in the meantime is there anything that can be done to improve frame rates? Does the ROM you use make any major difference? I'm using Oxygen 2.0.1 at the moment.

Honestly I thought the Wii version would be retarded but I now can say it's really good, at least for single player. The animations were smooth and I think it's the best shooter on Wii in many aspects. I don't even own a Wii. Rented the game while at my cousin's house. If you're looking for an exact remake, don't play the game. But if you want a similar game (and definitely more violent game), I say play it. I loved snapping the dude on the toilet's neck from the air duct lol
Don't bother with it for multiplayer. Split screen SUCKS. 2 weapons per person (plus the hat if you're Oddjob) and you can only pick up each others' weapons. And no voice chat plus stupid friend codes for online. definitely worth it for single player though.

Goldeneye actually runs full speed for me, as long as sound is disabled. The annoying part is the controls... need to find a wiimote.
This is on a SGS Vibrant, though, can't speak for the desire.

[Wish list] Wanted games and apps on WP7

Would like to see Real Racing on WP7. It is the defacto best simulator car racing game on any smartphone. It is like Gran Turismo for portables. Currently it is only on iPhone/iPad.
I'd love to play on my WP7 Mango phone:
- Real Racing or another racing game with good graphics and cars
- FIFA 12
- Halo or another FP shooter with good graphics (see the upcoming Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation for the iOS)
- Grand Theft Auto-like game
- Point & Click Adventure like 1112 for the iOS or the old FADE for Pocket PC
- Monkey Island
GameList
RPG Games a lot of them like:
-Inotia
-Pokemon
-Golden Sun
or something like that
-Gangstar
-9mm
-Prince of Persia Warrior Within
-Infinite Blade
-Cut the Rope
-Farm Frenzy 3
-Hero of Sparta
-Dungeon Hunter 2
Thanks
Some kind of data monitor, so I can see how much data I've used. Like 3gwatchdog for android.
Hulu plus
Madden
hoteltonight
Cut the Rope
jewel quest
A Halo and Gears or war Tower defense game
Some real multiplayer games
A good NFL app
Megaman
Street Fighter
Super Mario
Metal Slug
Or something like that
Back to the Future: The Game
Puzzle Agent 1 & 2
Minecraft Portable.
Crono Trigger
Wagic the Homebrew
or Magic the Gathering...
Crack the code
Sent from my 7 Mozart T8698 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Magic The Gathering Online
Shadow Era
Good RPGs (Diablo, KOTOR, LOTR:The Two Towers GBA)
- incall recorder
- call block
- program for ping, trace, finger, lookup etc. (like vxUtil in WM6.5)
It is interesting that %99 of what people have listed are games.
Does this mean that %99 percent of your productivity base is covered?
Or does every one view there phone as a entertainment device?
On the same though i never downloaded a game for 6.5 but have downloaded more games on my WP7 then i had programs on 6.5 and yet WP7 does not do nearly as much useful work that my 6.5 did.
Oh my list:
Call Black
vxUtil type program
Data monitor
more APIs (blue tooth, ad hoc)
