If your phone version is not Chinese, relock the bootloader.

Don't want to lock the bootloader you misunderstood my question

That is to say that with so many details in your question, it is difficult to answer precisely but if your device is Chinese only root and magisk will allow this.
If available for your device install a https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/22-7-6-7.66275/
Better than stock, certified play store with unlocked bootloader without root.

what's the point of an unlocked bootloader if you aren't going to root?

downgrade or installing rom,No?

AFAIK no other way than to flash Magisk, enable Zygisk and use Module "SafetyNet-Fix".
If you don't use Root, in Magisk you can set to auto-deny all Root-requests.

So if I installed the EEA stock fastboot rom, I would not pass the Google Play store certification and safetynet if I leave the bootloader unlocked? Just to be sure.
This is the first I've read about this. I was thinking maybe go back to stock for a change.
Can I unlock the bootloader again in the future if I install the rom with clean all and lock?

Yes, simply unlocking the bootloader will fail SafetyNet.
Yes, you can unlock the Bootloader again, at any time.

yes you can unlock again, instantly, you wont need to wait 7 days

Safetynet

If I were to unlock my bootloader, flash unmodified 8.1 dev preview and relock the bootloader, would I be able to pass safetynet? Or does unlocking the bootloader mean I'll permanently need to find workarounds no matter what I do afterwards?
Magisk rooting hides that. I can confirm that it works all the way up to November security patch. Look at the developer forum for more information.

Yes.
I have a related question. Is locking the bootloader even necessary? I thought having an unrooted rom on an unlocked bootloader phone passes safetynet?

Safetynet checks for Bootloader Status, unlocked doesn't pass.

Custom roms often make changes at the kernel level to block safetynet's ability to check the bootloader status, which makes it pass (for now). Magisk also hides bootloader unlock status from safetynet. So there are workarounds.

7T - preparing for root

I've asked this on Reddit already, but thought it was worthwhile to ask here as well
It's been a long time (3 years) since I had a device that I'd been able to root and I wanted to make sure I'm ready to do it on my UK 7T whenever a solution becomes available (I've checked here and it seems a bit hit and miss at the moment). In order to get my device prepped should I just unlock the bootloader and wait for someone to get TWRP and Magisk working? Basically, I want to avoid losing all my stuff in x weeks time when the process becomes safer/simpler and from memory I think unlocking the bootloader causes everything on the device to be wiped.
TLDR
2 real questions:
Does the process of rooting the device wipe it, or does that only happen when unlocking the bootloader?
If I unlock the bootloader when I first get the device, will this be me prepped for rooting later on without losing all of my data?
Thanks
If you're not going to install a custom Rom, you're prepared for root without losing your data. I did it too yesterday when my 7T arrived, right after update oxygenos.

I can't see myself moving from OOS, I just want root. So you're saying if I unlock bootloader from the off I'll be good for rooting in the future?

I'm changing from an iPhone 7+ to Oneplus 7T and got it yesterday. Why you don't make a backup when it's time for root? So far I can't see Custom ROMs or a working TWRP for the Oneplus 7T.

Yes, i lost data when unlocking the bootloader but then it was okay while rooting. I think you should unlock the bootloader and root as soon as you get the phone, but after updating to latest 10.0.4 version
Unlocked Bootloader / no Magisk Hide
Consider that apps like GooglePay or other apps will refuse working since they detect the unlocked bootloader state as possible security leak. GPay says, that due unlocked bootloader it does not want to initialze it.
So after facing this problems I would recommend, since magisk is limited to patching the actual boot.img, to stay on locked bootloader and unlock it after a secure method exists to install magisk and maybe TWRP. Otherwise, if you donot use these kind of apps, you can stay with unlocked BL.

How should I relock my bootloader on Motorola One Oaction?

So I successfully rooted phone, with TWRP, and Magisk. The only problem I'm having is 1) still getting safety net API error,
and
2) I don't know which command to use to relock the Boot loader.
It is likely that one will fix the other, or at least I think as Google is detecting my unlocked bootloader. I want to be able to re-un-lock it (I've been seeing forums filled people who can't unlock their bootloaders after locking it.

I have not seen this problem reported (much) as long as the device was full stock when relocked.

Thanks for that, So I managed to get it locked and got Google services and Pay working. With hide. (Small learning curve)

It seems to be a new problem. The the safety net check problem seems to be with magisk 22.1 (and 22.0 reportedly works but I'm too lazy to downgrade) as Hide works and I used alternative app to check safety net (SafetyNet Test) and it passed that. So everything is working as it should accept Magisk's internal safety net check tool.
Also, I finally learned how to add quotes, yay me!

Question Disadvantage of Unlocking bootloader

What are the disadvantage of unlocking bootloader? Is there any reason to keep it locked? Do you lose anything by unlocking?

Read step 7 and step 20.
Honestly the biggest drawback is that generally no L1 support after unlock, but in this phone that doesn't happen, so I would say No drawback at all
Ok thanks. I was thinking of trying miui but I didn't wanna wait 7 days once I decide miui isn't for me. I will unlock as soon as I get the phone

No, you must wait 7 days to unlock after you submit the request to unlock bootloader. So you still need to bear with MIUI for at least 7 days.
There's no shortcut (yet).
Most banking apps will not work with unlocked bootloader. This apps consider unlocked bootloader as a root of the system, so a lack of security.

The warranty will be voided if bootloader unlocked

Yes that is true but it's still possible to pass safety nets but as long safety nets are passing u should still be able to use banking apps even if running on custom ROM

This is not always true.
Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco in many countries still have warranty after bootloader unlocked.
Check the local Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco policy yourself.

Firstly is SafetyNet check. This is the first thing for banking apps.
Some ROMs did not pass SafetyNet out of the box and they have to use Magisk and modules to make them pass. This kind of ROMs mostly will have issues with bank apps.
To sum up:
Bootloader unlock: you can use bank apps, but sometimes not.
Root: you can use bank apps with some adjustments, but sometimes not.
ROMs: you can use bank apps, but sometimes not without the help of Root.
Try and error, life is just like this.

That is not totally correct either.
There are many cases that people had installed custom ROM and bricked their phone, but Xiaomi still give free warranty within the warranty deadline.
If you installed custom ROM and need Xiaomi warranty, simply return to MIUI and you still get Xiaomi warranty within deadline, if the policy said so.

Warranty good but even if it does get voided I will still unlock bootloader anyway because of custom ROM and stuff but it's cool that warranty does not get voided after unlocking bootloader

As I said, some bank apps can work. If ur bank app does not work, then the only way to use it is to root the ROM using Magisk (and some other specific magisk modules have to be installed if installing magisk only does not do the trick).

Any way to flash the device without bootloader?

I want to update my phone but it just doesn't work because apparently xiaomi is blocking the update to android 11, I dont get new updates and can't update manually either. I even contacted Xiaomi support and all they said was "you should go to the store where you bought the product." lmao
I know unlocking the bootloader and installing a rom would work, but this way my bank app would be unusable for me, so I can't do it.

Just unlock bootloader then lock it again by flash fastboot rom (Clean all and lock option). And just a few bank apps that not work for unlocked bootloader.

I've read something that said relocking a global phone breaks it, isn't that right?
Also, my bank app is one of those that doesn't work with unlocked bootloader.

It just got error if you try to lock bootloader with some other regions. Example: China phone with other roms. If you lock bootloader with same varient, it will be like a new phone with updated.
And almost bank apps problem is safetynet pass and root related, not unlocked bootloader. Go search online or find other group to check your bank app work or not. You can also join rmn8p group on Telegram with some useful guide over there.

I have a redmi device and I have rooted it with bootloader unlocked and safetynet works properly. The only condition is that you need to install it properly. All apps such as Netflix and gpay wotk properly
