Switching lenses in video mode - Xiaomi Mi 10T / 10T Pro Questions & Answers

Hello everyone
Is it possible to switch between lenses while filming a video ?
It's really annoying that you have to stick to the same lens.
Thank you in advance.

No such option in both miui camera and gcam.

Can a third party app do it ?
It is really annoying not to have this feature with so many lenses on the phone.

[Q] need help problem with main camera

Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thx for helping
Is that in the stock camera app?
Try manually reducing the exposure to see if that helps. That's highlight clipping, but to see that in a photo out of a stock camera app is bizarre .

Strange indeed. Perhaps try a digital photography forum. Maybe someone can identify this issue . I'd hate for it to be a hardware problem. Good luck

I'm talking about the modded Google camera app, not the MIUI stock one, and that uses EIS

I'm not sure if you can just enable EIS by installing Google Camera. You surely can stabilise the video in Google Photos app.

Its in the APK.
Not sure if its the full EIS though as my gfs Pixel 2 is definitely more stable than my Mi 6 EIS.
Difference in actual photos?: Negligible

Best Camera for Video? (EIS without aggressive AF)

Does anyone know which is the best camera app for Video Recording. Gcam has aggressive continuous autofocus and I didn't any option to turn it off.
Anyone here who can help?
The stock cam has the tap to focus setting which will stop the autofocus hunting.

You can check, I don't know if Moto camera is better than stock camera.
Open camera with stabilization enabled. By far the best. You can shoot bit rate and lock exposure.

Poor video & picture quality

Took a few videos using this phone at my sons birthday earlier. Very disappointed at the quality. Is there particular settings I should be using when taking videos? Or is there a better app to use? Pictures are good but not brilliant. So maybe my settings are not set correctly. Thanks in advance.

It is an app, actually many apps. Gcam is the Google's Pixel camera port and it works great on Android 8.1 Oreo. Not so much on Pie though, on Pie Xiaomi broke the focus and none of the gcams can properly focus. So if you're on Pie, don't bother, it won't be worthy of your time. If you're on Oreo, go to guides section and find guides about "camera 2 API" or "cam2API". Follow them to the letter then sideload gcam apk. :good:
I'm on android 9

In my opinion noise or grain is ok on photos in certain cases. Low light and high iso settings can cause this for example.
I shot this pic on a bus, the vehicle was in motion, the light was not enough because of the cloudy weather and the windows of the bus was also tinted. As a result of these things the lower part of the photo is grainy as hell.
Made with stock miui camera app on xiaomi.eu weekly rom.
