My name is Karl, the owner, and CEO of ArmadilloTek Inc.
I am on a mission to make the phones indestructible.
I am blessed to have lots of support from XDA.
This year, I invested heavily in our new designs for foldable devices. The Fold 4 cases will be launched on Amazon marketplaces at the end of Sep 2022!
I am looking for 200 people to test the new design and provide feedback.
About the case:
1. Combination of TPU and Polycarbonate for dual protection from drops and scratches
2. Complete all-around protection on cameras and front screen with raised edges.
3. [Innovative Hinge Protection] First of its kind with Semi-auto sliding tech.
4. All-new foam technology for an extra layer of shock resistance
5. Built-in Kickstand
6. Come with a tempered glass screen protector
7. Optional Spen-holder integrated with the hinge cover
All in one, simply the best-rugged case with innovative hinge protection.
Our hinge cover connects both the front cover and back, so the protection is better than most of
our competitors!
Requirement:
1st: At least a member of XDA for 2 years
2nd: At least 20 posts
3rd: You need to provide feedback ( Lots of people just grab the case, but barely want to help us
improve the design)
4th: You should be a good person. (why? I am working harder to make my business survive,
and have no time for games and scams. Used to have some negative experiences with some super
smart but evil people before)
5th. You would love to support a Texas small business by spreading the word of mouth.
This program is open to anyone in North America, the EU, and the UK.

Hi mate,
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to help you in the creation of this perfect case!
My Fold 4 did its first leap of faith yesterday without any case, it's still good for now.

Awesome opportunity. Signed up!

Applied.

I've signed up and done this sort of thing before. I will give you honest feedback to help and am open to testing other iterations as needed.

will you be supply for Thailand? if yes, i willing to submit too. i will get my Fold4 on 10Sep according to the Samsung shop.

I'm interested. But I stay in India and many Indians look for innovative cases but we always only have limited brands like spigen. Last year I purchased the slim armour pro which was good although it's very heavy. Anyway if I'm eligible please me know. I have submitted the form and I'm happy to give you feedback. Thanks

I'm in! I've used a few of your cases for the s10 and s21 ultra. Lets see what you got for the Fold 4. The case looks sick!!

Thank you, mate!
I am a little bit late this year, as my designer and I had back and forwards too many times to find the balance of design and practice.
The case is really rugged, and the way the hinge moves and covers are different than lots of our competitors.
To be honest with you, I have been 3D printing them since May, I also bought every single case from our competitors to find the weak points.
Except for the super rugged protection, and I am so proud that when you unfold the fold 4, our case will not interfere with the front screen.
To be honest, I am making the best-rugged cases, but I suck at marketing, nobody knows us.
You guys may know, Spigen, Otterbox, Tech21, my cases are better.
Why?
I am fxxxing loving them, all of my products have to pass 3 rounds of quality checks.
Anyhow, I am still nobody, and just focus on making the products better on both protection and service.
Also, thank everyone and XDA for giving us an opportunity!

Even before spigen launch in India most of us used to import them from eBay.com or amazon.com. if possible try to provide international shipping like other companies. If I'm eligible then I will gladly pay for the shipping via USPS international economy. Anyway I hope your efforts pay off. Gl

Signed up and filled the form. I've been around XDA since August 2007, and pretty active in the forums for the models I've owned. I've done beta testing programs for Samsung, Motorola, Microsoft, and things for my EV. I'm happy to provide real world feedback. I work in an industrial environment, IT guy at a 40acre manufacturing plant. Having a rock solid case is important to me on weekdays, but I need it to be able to switch easily out of on the weekends for my thin case.

Yes please, and can you try to get a ballpark cost figure as well if possible, definitely getting it if it is not extortionately priced
Got the reply. Here is it:
Hey x,
I've just asked the product guys, unfortunately we don't know when they're due in yet - we know we're expecting a lot of Galaxy S2 stuff at the end of June but a lot of the accessories are just coming in as and when at the moment.
We also don't have prices for them either, which makes me think that Samsung haven't released these details yet - which gives me the impression they won't be in stock for a while.
Sorry I can't be of more help

and the second it seems, really appreciate the quick response, looks like i might have to get a cheapo one for when i get the phone, but Damn the Sleeve look brilliant. and it can take a shovel or a hammer blow or two.
Really surprised no-ones interested in these Official cases, they seem much better than all the others and offer the best protection available, especially the sleeve which wraps around fully
Youre welcome. Glad to have been of help and thanks again.
Yea the protection seems to be great. The only problem with the cover is that the colour combo isnt too much to my liking. Maybe if they released them in different colours, more people would buy them. The sleeve looks great but I find it too tasking to take it out every time I need to check the phone.
Some of the Tech 21 D3o cases are available for around 8-12 GBP. Although they do not provide the sae protection, my guess is that the galaxy s ii cases would cost anywhere between 15-30 pounds depending on the style and protection it offers.

looks like the shell case (second post) is probable what suits you more, but the colour is a problem, i personally love the blue, but wouldn't mind other colours as well.
Yup Im interersted in that one. But I dont like the dual tones. And even if I could get past that, the blue is a bit too bright for me. Dark blue would have been great.
Just registered my interest in a slip case on the mobilefun site. I have a leather slip case at the moment, but the Sammy one looks quite swish I think.
I registered my interest in the official Samsung D30 leather slip case too .
Let's just hope they don't take too long to release it.
I'm OK for now though, as I haven't even got my handset yet
Yep can't wait also official, car dock seems ace. Someone reviewed and gave it 9.5 out of 10. Check the thread in the same accessories forum.

Here's the response I received:
Thanks for your email.
I can confirm in answer to your questions please see below;
Is this an original Samsung product? Yes
When is the official release date of this product? Not yet in Production, eta 6 weeks+
What price will you be selling it for? Depends on cost not yet announced
When will you have official pictures of this item on your website? Soon as we get the first one, probably July
Much appreciated
It looks like we'll be waiting a while for this, 6 weeks minimum.
I'll have to buy a cheap case for the time being when I get my phone.
Looking foreward to the rubbery one......hopefully it'll be in black as well

Griffin Survivor Military Case for Galaxy S3

Dear friends,
Amongst the countless "fanboy" wars between samsung and apple, there is one product that I would not mind taking the fire for, which is the Griffin Survivor Military Case for the 4s. Okay i just realised that I sound like a salesperson now, but that thing looks like a beast, my friend has it on his iphone and looking at it it would be the first case I would't mind dropping on the floor just to test it.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Griffin-Survivor-Military-Tested-iPhone/dp/B004R97CXI
http://www.griffintechnology.com/armored
Apart from the hard plastic cases such as the kraken/defender etc. Is there a hard rubber alternative for our s3s? I have sent a request email to the company asking them to design one for our precious galaxy s3s, if anyone else would help out and send some request letters it would give us another very good case to protect our s3s.
Here is their Email address, so if everyone could leave a message showing interest I am sure we would get far [email protected]

Lol yeah, the 4s is ****:highfive:, it is just a pity they tend to get quite a lot of accessories made for them due to being one flagship phone for apple..
Indeed - Otterbox Defender or Trident Kraken are about as good as you can do for an Android phone. While there may be more Android phones out there, there's a wide variety of shapes and sizes so it's hard for any one company to make a cool case like those. Apple only makes two or three shapes of phones and sell lots of them so it's easy for any company to make a variety of great cases for them for less money.
It sucks as far as getting cool cases sometimes, but at least you can easily mod the software on an SGS 3.

I saw that but it has plastic on the outside, which IMO feels cheap. This griffin survivor case, has a plastic shell in the inside and a hard rubber shell on the outside which makes the feel of the case really good. Its very sturdy as it simply bounces off the floor without transferring any of the stress to the phone,

I have a red Seidio Active. The case fits very well, looks great, has a kickstand, and does not add extreme bulk. But:
1. Your grip grabs mostly rubber. But, the rubber is surprisingly slippery. The plastic part is slightly textured and is not slippery.
2. The holster has side guides. If you don't line up the phone exactly between the side guides when you load the phone into the holster, then the side guides hit your screen. I have a screen protector, but the holster has made a few scratches in the screen protector.
i'd definitely buy this case if they made it for the gs3 :good:
The Defender is plastic on the inside and silicone on the outside just like this case.

This is *one* of the reasons I chose the s3 over the evo lte. With all major us carriers releasing the same phone, as well as all the international sales, manufacturers such as griffin need to take notice. With the total amount of s3's sold, I honestly expected a whole lot more choices on accessories than what is currently available.

Yeah with 10mil sold I am surprised they are not tapping into it, thatswhy I am doing this little campaign to give them a little push. lets say they decide to bring one out next week, I am sure they'd be making a lot of sales with pre orders, given the current somewhat small number of options available to 10mil+ users.
So I would like everyone to just spent one minute in emailing them, I am sure with our number of users we could achieve this
bump
Saw my friend bought the griffin case for 4s pretty solid and the grip of the case is nice and not slippery. Was abit down though these company didn't make any of their cases for androids.

yeah it's a shame they aren't focusing on android that much

Unless your getting deployed overseas why would you want a case five times the thickness of your phone omg that case thick lol. Seven years running and no dropped phone knock on wood.

These seem nice as well but I've never tried any skins apart from dbrand. Primarily this has been because postage is $11.49 to my country. However, having used dbrand and read about them/seen them on my friends devices, I don't think I'm missing out. These may be a couple of dollars cheaper but the dbrand skins are definitely very precise/high quality.

dbrands marketing is a little misleading, their whole process is over-exaggerated as far as creating a skin goes as well as their "quality".

Not to disrespect dbrand (I actually had one of their skins for my Nexus 4 and it was great), but you are right. It's quite bizarre to see everyone go crazy over dbrand. I find the whole "bot" creative process quite silly..and yes, it's uniqueness is also quite exaggerated when you see that it looks identical to the skin you've mentioned.
That said, it's still an excellent brand as far as quality goes and I also like their low cost international shipping.

I know how the process works. You measure the skin, make adjustments, and repeat until you get a nice fit. Per dbrand, they remeasure and cut their skins 1000 times when creating a skin. If this is true then they need to hire a new designer as this process takes only a few hours.
Also, 3M vinyl is available to anyone not just dbrand

It's quite apparent that they use marketing as their X-factor when differentiating their brand, but yea, most screen protectors and cheaper cases are usually sourced from the same factories unless they're a huge company and can afford to do their own R&D.

I know how the process works. You measure the skin, make adjustments, and repeat until you get a nice fit. Per dbrand, they remeasure and cut their skins 1000 times when creating a skin. If this is true then they need to hire a new designer as this process takes only a few hours.

Really? A few hours? Perhaps you need to try a little harder. I've been there for those 50 hour binges where our "designers" go through (over) one thousand revisions to achieve a flawless fit.

dbrands marketing is a little misleading, their whole process is over-exaggerated as far as creating a skin goes as well as their "quality".

Yes they have great marketing and some may see it as silly/overhyped etc. Some find it hilarious and it creates brand loyalty etc. They clearly make a lot of money as well. Anyway, all that aside...taking emotion and all that away and looking at the product itself. All I know is that the skins they make are bl00dy good. I've had my Nexus 4 skin on for more than 6 months. As an honest consumer here, I'll admit that the e peeled off a bit but the skin itself is as good today as it was the minute I received it. I have had my phone in sports bags etc and am a heavy user. So if I'm looking at the product for what it is, it's great quality. Of course nobody is saying that everyone must purchase dbrand. There are choices. Each to their own but I don't think it's fair to question their processes and things that we know nothing about (factually).
I'm not a dbrand employee or anything so not going to get into the other aspects. Just trying to help consumers from a purely product pov.
nexus 4 application video, looks pretty good I wanna try it but I also have a dbrand white CF on preorder

Not a fan of the front or the sides but the back...holy smokes that's beautiful. Reminds me of the wood back Moto X

Umm if I remember correctly from my samsung galaxy nexus days, pmoradi works for Xgear so I doubt they have to buy anything from XGear.
What I will say is that I don't understand questioning a products quality without ever testing it for yourself. I can confirm one thing though, 3m material is definitely not exclusive to dbrand nor has dbrand ever claimed as such (other than the Ferrari red carbon fiber). Thus it is completely conceivable that another company would also use 3M material negating any advantage in material other than color choice. So the only remaining value is in the quality of cut and price. Whose to say one is better than the other without comparing both products in hand.
I suspect dbrand would certainly encourage this considering that precision is their largest selling point. Also wanted to say that I find it incredibly impressive that during the fitting process for dbrand that the measuring bots can cut, measure and make adjustments for each "practice" skin every 3 minutes continuous for over 50 hours. That is efficiency and/or crazy amounts of manpower. :good:
Personally I like the color choices from xgear better (the blue brushed steel looks awesome in person in my opinion) but I like the three piece design of dbrand because I really only like the back piece and the xgear is a one piece design for back and side.

Take a look at this new Spigen case!

This one looks really nice. But it's in another language. Can anyone translate the details. What I really want to know is where and when can i get it?
https://youtu.be/1QWv81uy3-o
Not much to translate really. I am currently learning Korean so I'll explain. Anyways, he basically says this new case is super protective and has a premium feel to it. It will cost around 90$ (US Dollars, or 99.000 Korean Won), so it is rather pricey. You attach the case like many other cases (I also have a similar Spigen case I bought here in Korea), by using glue strips that are on the inside of the case. There are foam pads/cushions on the inside to protect the backside from damage as well and to absorb heat. The entire case itself is also made of a TPU material of course, and the hinge is covered as well by the same material. The case weighs a total of about 57.6g. The hinge cover/protection slides away when opening the case, and he said that it makes it kinda a little thick. The case itself is not slippery at all, and the bump from the hinge cover makes it so that the Phone cannot lay down on a flat surface while being entirely flat. This also makes it so that the hinge cover is in the way for everything when the Phone is open, so you cannot use it on a Wireless Charging Stand for example, or a stand to watch movies, etc. The hinge cover is also kinda in the way when you open the Phone, if you have your fingers there. He really likes the case, but he cannot entirely recommend it because of the hinge cover being almost too thick. Other than that, he loves that it really provides good protection for the Phone. Everything else isn't really necessary to translate as he isn't really talking about anything important, he is only reviewing it really. Besides, it is a protective case like any other, so not much to talk about anyways.
And he didn't answer your question about "When or where" actually. He only mentioned the price. I however already can buy it here in Korea online right now for 89.000 Korean won. But when it comes to your country, I can't say. Also, the reviews people have given the product (it seems like it has been out for a while now), range anywhere from 3 to 5 stars, but mostly people give it 5 stars. Basically, I would recommend you this case IF you want a really protective case and can live with the deficits that this case provides.

I enjoy it, adds bulk. But what case doesn't? The one draw back for myself. I work construction. I like to use my Note 10+ for work. (fark yeah I still rock that mother fluffer!) It's not easy to swap to mah ZF2. The inner adhesive pads are good for a couple of tugs. After that, start looking for a replacement.... Unless... Gonna check out that Spigen warranty. :highfive:
Mine shipped today..
Im getting the spigen tough armor not the pro one instead because I somewhat don't like not being able to lay my phone flat because of the hinge protection.
You can get one of the wallet cases that will fold flat; these usually don't attach to the top at all just as a wallet with a non folder. I've got one on order but cant comment on it as it's not here yet.
FYI.....I placed one of the slim armor pros into my cart at spigen.com....a day went by and they emailed me a 15% off code.
I received it today ...very nice build and overall first impressions a definite go ..as with other cases the left side edge panel I'm unable to activate from left side ... otherwise everything else a winner ..
