Question Samsung S21 FE cannot connect after software update/restart - Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

Hi,
I recently performed a software update on my samsung s21 FE and after the phone rebooted, it could not find a cell signal. I was receiving data, but I could not call or text. After about an hour the phone picked up a signal and connected to the network. I wasn't doing any kind of changes to settings at this time. Later on in the evening, I restarted the phone just for testing purposes and it did the same thing. No signal for about 20 minutes after restart and then it just connected to the network without reason. I tried the following troubleshooting steps, but they didn't fix the issue:
Reboot (again)
Reset network settings
toggle airplane mode
Reseated SIM card while the phone was off
Phone details:
Total Wireless network
Model number: SM-G990U1/DS
Firmware: G990U1UEU3CVG2
Service Provider Software version:
SAOMC_SM-G990U1_OYM_TFN_12_0010
TFN/TFN,TFN/XAA
Any suggestions on next steps?
Thanks.

Hello, did you try a wipe cache partition from recovery mode ?
That's the first thing I do if I have problem after a system update...

Thanks for the suggestion! I did not try that.

try this procedure and if it doesn't work you can try flashing a stock rom via odin (with Home_csc_xxx file to keep user data)

[Q] Update from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 - Loss of WIFI

I purchased my Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100 without LTE) in Hong Kong on November 18, 2012. Upon returning to the United States, I used the phone without any problems, until February 2, 2013, when I received notification on my phone from Samsung that an Official Samsung software update was available for my phone. I clicked the icon to select installation of the software update, which resulted in my phone being updated (over-the-air) from OS 4.1.1 to OS 4.1.2
After installing the update, my phone functions properly, except that I am unable to receive WIFI from my Netgear WNDR3700 Wireless Router, or from any other locations having free WIFI Access on the 2.4ghz band. When attempting to connect to WIFI, even when the signal is strong, the connection remains at "obtaining IP Address" for about one minute, and then displays "Network Disabled Poor Connection". Prior to installation of the 4.1.2 update, the phone connected to WIFI without problems. I did a Factory Data Reset, and it did not solve the problem. I reported this problem to Samsung in Hong Kong and the United States, and they were of no help.
I have concluded that I may be able to fix the problem if I replace the 4.1.2 wifi files with the 4.1.1 wifi files. I have since extracted the system.img file from the 4.1.1 Hong Kong ROM. I would like to unpack the system.img file to retrieve the WIFI folders/files, but have been unsuccessful in unpacking/extracting this image file. What software do I need and what specific procedures do I need to follow to unpack/extract the system.img file in order gain access to the wifi folders/files?

I am facing the same problem, can't get connected to any wifi.:crying: Did you fix the the problem?
Even I had this problem. You can solve the problem by switching off Power Saving Mode (PSM) for WiFi.
Tap Phone to start the dialer.
Dial *#0011#
The SeviceMode screen appears.
Press the Menu button and click WiFi.
You will see that WiFi Power Save Mode is ON. Click the ON button to turn PSM off.
Now your phone will connect to WiFi. But remember that every time you reboot the phone, the PSM is turned ON so you have to do it every time you reboot the phone.
GoodLuck

Keep calm and do the following:-
Download this zip file. And extract it to your etc/wifi folder.
http://db.tt/BWGleyxg
Since you need to overwrite a system folder, mount it as R/W from the default R/O using Root explorer or any other explorer(This is the important bit and there is no excuse for messing this part up)
Then copy and paste the conetnts of the "wifi" folder you earlier extracted to etc/wifi and choose "Overwrite files" option.
DONE.
If this doesn't work, then probably nothing will.
Doesn't work. I tried switching off the wifi powersave mode as you suggested and the first thing that happened was that I lost my wifi connection. That's with me sitting ten feet from my router.

I was having problems with Wifi connectivity ever since I received the 4.1.2 updates (around Christmas time). After trying the steps that I had suggested my problem was fixed. I am using the stock ROM. Are you on custom ROM??? You should try the steps suggested by zeeshanonlyme.
Wifi drop issue
I had the problem of my Note2 dropping its wifi connection as well. I tried the solutions discussed here - turning off wifi power saving mode, and copying the contents of the wifi folder from 4.1.1 to the /etc/wifi folder of 4.1.2. The latter worked for a day or two, then the problem started to reappear.
Last night I went into the advanced wifi settings of 4.1.2 and deselected "Network Notification" that informs the user that an open connection is in range. Guess what, my WiFi connection has been rock solid stable since then (crossing fingers ...).
Haven't stopped kicking myself yet. Try it, it might work for you.
This solution works? I'm almost tearing my hair out.

[HELP] Note 3 bootloop

Hello guys.
I have an original note 3 (no root, no kernel no recovery, stock note 3). I have the polland rom.
Until today the phone works correctly; during last week i reboot the telephone removing battery 2 times (the phone was freezed).
Today after a freeze i removed the battery and turning on the phone again but the phone remain in a bootloop.
i try with a cache wipe but with no result.
Removing SD card, sim card and putting it on airplan mode the phone reboot after 30 seconds (instead of 5 seconds).
But now, how can i backup my personal data!?
There is a way?
thanks in advance

Pulling the battery with files open can corrupt the file system. Your 'data' partition is probably corrupt, and these are the files you want to recover. If you can use ADB and mount '/data' without root access then you can recover some of the files by copying them to the host computer, but you might corrupt that host computer.
To simply fix your device I think you must do a factory data reset.
Frank
thanks for your suggestion!
I'll try!

As mentioned above, the user is correct, do a factory reset. Should clear the issues.

No reception after OREO (Soak 1 and 2) sideload

Hi all,
I got a strange problem after I upgraded - it started to show that I don't have any SIM and, therefore, no reception or mobile internet. The weirdest thing - the first few seconds after reset/restart it shows full 4g, but then reception triangle gets blank and missing SIM icon appears. And funny thing - the connection is active in this short period - I received a text with Viber access code. An impression was that network is fine before something loads and blocks it.
So, I tried to flash back the Stock Room with December patch, which I flashed to my Stock Retail Rom September patch (BL unlocked, rooted) before sideloading soaks. RDS failed on the third step as, I guess, it checks what you flash on to what. I shrugged and decided to flash custom Rom to be able then to flash 7,1 stock. I downloaded both ROM and gapps, flashed TWRP and booted to recovery. TWRP on it's first launch asked something and started to mount something, preparing for normal work. However, after it finished, it rebooted again and booted into stock recovery. Well, here I clicked everything I could, I mounted System (don't ask)), few other venues and, finally, erase userdata. It asked data only or personalized content as well - I chose the later. In the logs it said userdata, cache and something to do with carrier was deleted.
I clicked restart and it loaded into bootlaoder again. Hm, checked the logs and it said bootmethod in UKG was set as BL (fastboot reason). Restarted again. The phone said it was being encrypted and when finished - started normally. The setup menu asked for the language and the network triangle was full and showed 4G. I selected the language, setup WiFi and triangle disappeared. I put in my email address to setup Google account and froze - I have 2-step verification. So I inputted my password and restarted the phone in a hope to get the text while the connection is active. This time phone booted normally and ****ing miracle!!!! the network is back!
No idea what helped it, but if you have this trouble - maybe it will help you.

Debricked, P2 sees SIM, asks for PIN, but does not register on network, SIM disabled?

So... I stared into the abyss, but I came back from the brink - unlocked bootloader, and the modem/calibration stuff got wiped during what should have been a routine TWRP flash from fastboot, and left me with no radios whatsoever. After flashing S048, and applying all the known OTAs up till S251, I got my wifi & bluetooth radios back, but it didn't seem to recognise my SIM (tried both slots).
After trying for almost a week, I also finally got the diagnostics mode going and was able to put a working QCN backup in place (thank you XDA and uploader).
So I flashed the LineageOS 15.1 20180413, and lo and behold, it sees the SIM and asks for a PIN to unlock it. So far, so good. Then (first time) Android says 'switching to mobile data, might take a while' but nothing really happens (I am on wireless; if I turn off wifi that doesn't make any difference though).
Under 'Network', 'Automatically select network' is enabled but 'Network' (right below) is greyed out. When I untick 'Automatically select network', it says 'Error while searching for networks'. When I re-tick it again, it says 'Registered on network', although nothing really happens.
Under SIM cards, it says slot 1 is populated, but says 'Mobile Vikings is disabled' (Mobile Vikings being my provider). The button to enable it is greyed out. Switching to airplane mode doesn't force anything either.
I've had a logcat instance open when toggling 'Automatically select network', but nothing related seems to show up. Any hints on what I could try/check? Or is this a coaster?
I believe that once you erase the modem stuff you'll always have serious problems restoring it. It seems like most people have to send the device in for service.
I've still no solution for an old P2 of mine and in that case I even had a TWRP backup.
Lenovo should really allow for us to flash stock images . An unlocked bootloader with LESS privileges makes no sense.
Wipe everything in twrp & flash twrp full backup which included efs & modem shared on our p2 forum. then flash Fastboot s48 only systemchuncks 0-14, boot & recovery then do 4-5 OTAs updates till latest one s251, you'll get you mobile network & calls back.
@eried1 Yeah looks like it
@amansehdav I have turned the P2 subforum upside down and I already tried this - restore a working S233 TWRP backup, flash S048 through fastboot, and upgrade with the OTAs till S251. No dice. Wifi and Bluetooth came back with that process, but the stock firmware would not see the SIM.

(Help) Radio power off, cant get it on.

Hello,
My phone can not find any network. Phone recognizes the SIM, when i try to select manual 4g/3g/2g phone does not find any signal. Wifi and bluetooth working.
When i look in "phone information" Mobile radio power is off and preferred network type is wrong. I cant get it on and i cant select the true network type.
I did flash modem.img again and again.. I don't get what is the problem.
Before that, i broke the partitions as 45/46/47 and /vendor, after i recover these, Phone works fine but i face the this dead end problem..
I tried these;
Flashing AOSP, same.
Flashing (same model RN5) modem.img
I did flash the global rom a few times
Reset tens of times..
How can i solve this problem ? can anyone help please ?
