Do we have a rom with quick charge and is compatible with HDR+ Google camera?

Here is the dilema:
Currently I am using the latest RR5.8.5. It is the final version of Nougat and will not be updated. I am quite happy with this rom. The only problem is that I can not use the latest HDR+ google camera (always FC). It seems that the AOSPA is the best compatible rom with HDR+ google camera. But as far as I know, there is no quick charge feature in AOSPA. All the Oreo roms are still at the early stage with huge amounts of bugs. I don't want to return to EUI 5.9 (marshmellow) either since it is not officially supported anymore. Do we have a good rom with both QC and HDR+?
Any suggestion will be much appreciated.

Yes, I think all the Nougat roms are not developed anymore. The teams are concentrating on debugging the Oreo roms.
Omni FTW
Do you use Cuoco92 rom?
I do also have fc with omni
Just my take , I had onnia for a while however it was not compatible with all variations of Google camera. Switched to paranoid and got better call column and every single modded Google camera app I have installed has worked. Also quick Charing works great. While charging your led flashes letting you know it's in a wyci change state and when it goes back to normal speed your led.goes solid, which usually happens around 90%

"SOT?"
Can you describe what this means? it's not clear.
Edit: Nevermind are you referring to battery life?
If so, it was better with stock. However, in my opinion the stock rom was too restrictive. For example, I missed alot of notifications while using the stock rom.
Next, I installed Greenify with root using Magisk. : With excessive usage my battery life is at least one full day and with casual usage the battery will last for days.
With Paranoid, quick charge is incredibly fast. In fact, much faster than what stock provided.

thanks for reply , can u show how long SOT in paranoid and SOT in stock rom ?
Don't forget that we have BlackScreen kernel which works on many different roms. Its Alucard governor is very good to the point I ditched Advanced Governor Tweaks. It had idle drain issues but fixed since a few months ago. I highly recommend it.

I can but not at the moment. I just woke up and checked my battery that was fully charged 6 hours ago and it's still at 99%.
See screenshot, and I will send another one at a the end of the day.
FYI, I did not save any battery records from when I was using stock, nor did I make any effort to studiously track and graph out usage. My comments are based on my best estimated guess.
In my opinion, current battery life using Paranoid is better than any other phone that I have personally used and I have over 100 apps installed, including substratum.
I also use the phone for some multi-track audio recording, some games, a lot of YouTube and a lot of music listening.
I don't really pay a lot of attention to battery life because it is has been a non issue. Obviously the battery will last much longer if I am just listening to music or just talking on the phone.
After I installed, paranoid I noticed battery life was slightly degradated, so I installed Greenify.
On a typical day of heavy usage, the battery life will last from wake until bedtime: 17-18 hours, and still have 20 to 30 percent left when connecting it to the charger.
Next, I have not timed the quick charge. But I estimate that it will charge from 20% to 90% in approximately 30 minutes. Which in my recollection is much faster than charging using the stock ROM.
At the end of the day, it's totally worth switching from stock to a custom ROM. In my experience, Paranoid is a great option. I haven't tried the Omni ROM.
From what I have read, Paranoid is one of the few Roms in which everything works.
Although paranoid has 4 themes built in. Substratum allows a greater degree of control with theming. Again, battery life is very good and If you don't like the ROM there's many options. Plus it's very easy to just go back to stock.

Thanks, I haven't tried black screen, and actually didn't realize that it included such a wide range of governors. Personally, I do not really need to micromanage my settings and battery usage. But its nice to know that we have such an amazing tool available. for our phones.

The only bug the current version have for me is the dark theme resets back to normal on reboot, but that's nothing major and probably will be fixed on the next update
It does have scrolling screen shots
I didn't test the internal audio recording so i can't say
The default kernel is good, but i use mad kernel with it , and its great, and the dev has no issue with people using that kernel specifically
The one thing i have to mention that it comes with gapps already installed , but its minimal, for me its good this way...and magisk latest works fine with it and playstore certified, and it supports encryption
I do recommend a complete clean flash for the 1st install to avoid any issues

Question Any Custom ROM with AOD, dt2w and pocket detection working properly?

Hey! So, I've tried some AOSP ROMs and I encountered with the same problem in all of them. AOD, dt2w and pocket detection are BATTERY KILLERS. Specially AOD, because, when it's activated, the device doesn't enter into deep sleep.
Don't get me wrong, they work as they should, maybe pocket detection with better results in some ROMs than other.
You can easily say "Turn them off" and yeah, I disabled them and the battery drain is almost nothing, no matter what ROM I'm into.
But, I really like having AOD, enjoy my AMOLED panel and squeeze as much as I can, but not in behalf of HUGE battery drain.
And it sucks, because, in MIUI you can have them enabled and working with less battery draining, but I don't like MIUI like many of us here.
I use BBS app to check the draining, and there is Wakelock named PowerManage.SuspendLockout, that is always active when I have AOD enabled, to consider...
Is it related to Xiaomi not releasing the code or whatever is call, or some hardware issue, or maybe a poor ROM optimization?
Have you find any ROM where these features, specially AOD, are not battery killers?
PS: In every ROM I do a clean install, no backup restore, and almost 0% background apps consumption, so, no, it's no a setting or app related issue...
DotOS 5.12
I tested only 3 AOSP roms (crdroid, havoc and evoX) and they all have this issue. The MIUI didn't. I'm also wondering why that is and I would really like to use AOD. As you said, we have an AMOLED panel and not being able to use it fully kinda sucks no matter if is is just a gimmick. Not sure if it's a kernel issue or a rom issue but it definitely isn't a hardware issue since it's working without flaws on MIUI. Would be great to hear from some rom maintainers about this.
Can someone confirm if it's really working with deep sleep on DotOS? I won't flash it, even if that's true but maybe the maintainer can share the fix with the other roms?

I tried so many kernels and specific fixes that claims to fix the issue all ended up in failure, like you I love to have AOD but not at the expense of huge battery loss.
Just my opinion. I think there is nothing we can do about the battery. Its a hardware/quality issue. I mean, the battery of poco f3/mi 11x is not good as you see from other giant brand like samsung.
maybe we need a special Kernel for the best result between AOD and Battery
I did a clean flash of my own Lineage rom as something got screwed while trying fixes for AOD, this is a week ago, brightness was being reset to lowest on each wake up.
So, I decided to try AOD just now to see if it works, and it does!
For the first time the cpu goes to deep sleep even though AOD is switched on.
I have built and flashed no less than 80 builds, It pays to do a clean flash once all source code have settled.
This is the Commit that I believe fixed the issue:
alioth: Enable config_powerDecoupleAutoSuspendModeFromDisplay · AliothDevelopment/[email protected]
Contribute to AliothDevelopment/android_device_xiaomi_alioth development by creating an account on GitHub.

As I said above, I dirty flashed with the commit above and still with AOD on no sleep, so only after a clean flash it is working perfectly, Clean flashing is important if you have flashed many builds with many changes in the Kernel/device trees.
cheers

I am not sure many would like the fact that mine runs on MicroG, I have many of the apps that usually comes with the ROM taken out and replaced with other better open source alternatives.
Gallery, messages, music to name a few
As I am 100% self dependent on my services, I don't rely on anyone else:
I run and maintain. The following services:
1) XMPP secure and fully encrypted chat server (prosody) for family and friends)
2) run my own VPN server when out of the house.
3) run my own email servers since 2008
4) Run my own password manager server (Bitwarden)
5) run Synching server to keep all my Linux servers, Linus PCs and Android Live Backed up.
6) Run my Own Cloud Server ( NextCloud)
7) My own Music personal server I use Gelli (open Source) to listen.
8) my own open source router (pfsense)
9) my own DNS server ( Pihole )
I also build most of the apps I use :-]
Everyone needs differ than others, my sources for building my ROM are here, feel free to download, use or fork.

Question [Solved] Facing so much UI lags on Stock MIUI!

Have you guys ever experienced any lags in the UI?
Especially when I'm unlocking my phone, opening notifications shade or going to the recent apps screen (with gestures), it's like I'm using a very old device with a 1 GB RAM and It's driving me crazy!
I used to set up work profile using Shelter, turned off MIUI Optimisation (to have the REAL always-on display) and was using super wallpapers somehow and I thought it makes my phone slow.
Today I did a factory reset, and guess what, nothing was changed!
Even at the very first step which I didn't even install any applications, lags are clearly visible.
I'm using the stock ROM and never tried to unlock the bootloader or flashing custom recovery.
Please help me. I've tried any possible solutions including factory reset.
I even compared this device with a Mi Note 8 in the same condition and the Note 8 had a better performance. Or maybe these lags are normal on this device!
Do you have any idea?
Thanks.

On latest build(global rom) right. But it only happen when the battery level is below 60%. I noticed it and moved to custom rom because of it. Install cpu frequency monitoring app like devcheck, the big cores are turned off(hotplugged), that's the cause of lags. Above 60% battery, everything is normal(no hotplug). I have no idea how to fix it, assuming that it's a bug.
Yeah, the UI after 12.5.5 update definitely lags, which is disappointing.

I'm not using camera that much, but both stock camera (which has very little functionality) and Gcam for Mi11 lite works.
Honestly, flashing PE android 12 has fixed most of the issues I had with this phone (framedrops, weird miui power saving that limits some apps to 60hz for some reason, overall smoothness and speed, weird auto brightness...). Its just a better experience for this phone in my opinion. MIUI is only decent on phones with high end chips and even then its kinda bad.
I realised that using Super Wallpapers on xiaomi.eu ROM causes lags and bugs.

Never used Super Wallpapers myself, I doubt that was it.
In my opinion this version of miui 13 is still not working perfectly. I mainly noticed several problems with the smoothness of the system that don't exist in Miui version 12.5. Yesterday I installed the PE12 version and I have no complaints, great battery and performance.

Weak Battery Life after installing 3rd party roms

Three months for how many roms exacly ? Mebay too little time per rom has passed.
Have you performed a clean installs (wiping data) or dirty flashed rom over a rom ?
Im currently using ancient build of ArrowOS 11. The only things that i found not to work are WI-FI display and 1/8x slow-motion mode in Gcam (I don"t thing this one is ROM related).
Today i"ve scored most of the SOT using Total Commander (tidying up tons of old files) and scored 5h 35min of SOT.

The application called Naptime-battery saver (requires root) solved the problem to some extend. Now It does not drain the battery that much. I recommend it. But I need a real solution.
So the problem was in standby drain ?
From brief examination of google play decription - naptime forces doze mode to kick in faster. So there had to be and app/service running in the backgroud which was preventing the phone from entering doze mode.
You should try to find out which app was responsible for this.
Mebay google play services/playstore update ? I think google play icon has been changed today, so there must have been an update.
Naptime can be used without root as well, however some permissions using ADB have to be granted to make it work

It's beyond standby drain. It has only solved standby drain. When I wake up the screen, battery drain goes on. It's not about playstore, the problem has started since I installed custom rom. The mistery is why It cannot save the day although I reinstall the stock rom ? Ridiculous.
Pixelexperience is the solution. Battery life is much better than any other custom rom.
