Thinking of buying Oppo Find X2 - OPPO Find X2 Questions & Answers

How is it nowadays with latest patch.
Battery life has improved or still the same?
ive read its about 5h sot with 1440p 120hz and 7h sot 1080p 60hz, what about standby drain?
And pictures? did they improve in quality?
And you think its still worth as a used phone in 2022 or i'm better with another? Example Huawei P40 Pro

Nvm, I bought a used Mi 10 Ultra very cheap.

After the recent update i could say i was able to feel some heat only while playing games or some heavy usage.
I dont see any specific abnormal heating issues.
i'd like to say heating issue is not an issue on this phone. but very sure ppl will jump in and say they have this and it's bad, etc...
for me. i play games like Mobile Legends and Arena of Valor. no issues. no heat.
but i know that some actually complain of some heat after recording 4k video on the phone for a long time.
i've never had to record in 4K. never feel the need to. most devices can't play 4k anyway. my tv is only 1080 and my phone's only 2K (the honor 8 Pro)?!? but ya, ppl who do video editing might do that. then again, if they are into video editing, i doubt they'd be using a smartphone as recording device... so, in real world practical sense... i think it's a good phone. no heat issue.

i'm using the honor 8 Pro and i'd lie if i say there is no heat. there is when i use 4G and play games like MOBA. but usually, it's very, very little and at times it does get more only when the area has got poor reception.
is this phone "warmer" than other phones? no. if anything, i think it stays cooler than some phones I have used, including Samsung Note 2 and Note 7 or even the OnePlus One.
it does not get terribly warm or anything like that. i don't use 4K recording. so, not sure how warm the phone gets.
hope that answers your Q.

It will not heat in regular browsing and gaming.
Extended usage of camera beyond 15 or 20 minutes can make it warm and not heat.
I played real racing 3 for about half an hour and it didn't heat up at all.
The thing is people don't know the difference between heat and warm.
A device will get warm of extended usage and under extensive load. More so, if it's made of metal.

Seen that many times. People will say it's heating though it is just lukewarm.
I too had a oneplus 3. I did tons of review hunting and finally settled for Honor 8 pro. Been a month now almost, i can say i m impressed with the device. Good luck to u!!
If you have One Plus 3. You SHOULD'NT waste your money on Honor 8 Pro.
Trust me! There is ZERO difference in performance in day to day usage.
may be 10% better in Benchmarks.
Games actually perform better in OPO3 due do having an Adreno gpu and HD resolution.
Camera benefits from having more details due to 16 MP.
Battery full charge in 40 odd minutes compared to 2 hours plus on Honor 8 Pro.
H265 10 BIT HARDWARE DECODING in SD 820 compared to NADA in Kirin 960 (In short, h265 10 bit videos don't play).
So unless you're desperate for a card slot or IR blaster, there's little to NO reason for you to get Honor 8 Pro.

- Kirin 960 performs better than sd820 on op3 and some benchmarks shows it performs about the same as sd835.
- About the gpu yes, adreno a bit better. But dont worry, because later on oreo update u can change res to 1080p or 720p, so gaming performance will improve.
- Nicest design for honor 8 pro.
- Camera a lot better in honor 8 pro, bokeh effects, more details even its just 12mp compare to 16mp op3. Camera on op3 are noisy, check the comparison on website.
- Nice 2k screen on honor 8 pro.
- Battery a lot better than op3.
So apart from sd card slot and ir blaster, theres a lot things better in honor 8 pro.

I have used both the devices and have them in front of me. That's why. Real world usage. No differnece. Photo details more in Oneplus ३. Charging way faster. Plays more media formats via hardware acceleration. No point.

My young brother owns op3. Honor 8 pro camera wins all the way. The overall quality, dynamic range, contrast, sharpening, white balance, color accurate, low noise picture all wins on honor 8 pro side. Low lights picture also better than op3. Compare it with op3, pixel peeping shows op3 has some grainier and noisy photo, even my brother agrees with it. Oh did u try the wide aperture mode? Results are really nice. About the media format, u can always install mx player from play store. Sure battery charging a bit slow because of the big 4000mah capacity, but I dont mind that as it last longer in moderate usage.
Well everyone has their own opinion anyway, so heres mine. Chill.
As for me, yes, dont buy the honor 8 pro yet because honor v10 is coming out next month. Better wait for it, a lot improvement than honor 8 pro with the same price tag.

I only specifically mentioned about details in pictures due to having more mega pixel. No cure for that.
And I am talking about MX player only. Please try playing H265 10 bit file on it with a Honor 8 Pro.
Then do the same with Oneplus 3. You'll be surprised! One of them WONT play. One of them will play silky smooth.
Also see in settings/decoder which of the formats are hardware accelerated in both.
Kirin 960 might be raw power (Only CPU). But Snapdragon is like super refined and overall well rounded.
Performance wise no real world difference. It would be total waste to upgrade.
I am not giving my opinion but simply stating the facts as I've experienced; to help the OP make wise decision.

Significant battery distance between 7x/6x?

I know that the battery in the 6X and 7X are the same size, but between the 7X's larger screen and its supposedly "more efficient" processor, is there a notable difference in battery life/SOT between the two?
I'm looking for a replacement for my aging LG G3, which has infamously suffered from overheating/poor SOT due to its inefficient processor and QHD screen. My priority for a new phone is solid battery life, and the 6X/7X are in my budget.

How's the battery backup of your Honor 8 Pro C675 with all the latest updates?

Hey,
I am owning an Honor 8 Pro C675 with current version DUK-L09 8.0.0.322 (C675 - India) which is the latest available version. The device is new and less than a month old.
But my battery backup is absolutely wrecked.
With full charge I am getting a maximum 5 hours of SoT with medium to low brightness and just regular chatting and web surfing. There's no anomaly in terms of apps or anything, everything looks fine but battery drains fast.
My battery usage chart looks like a very steep slope. :crying:
Anyone else facing this issue or is it just me?
If yes, any solution or tweaks that did it for you? Like resetting or something.
Well 5 hr sot for normal browsing and chatting is abysmally low!! I get around 7 hr sot with ease...and around 5 hr sot if i game... I guess you should reset once and see... although i know resetting can be irritating!!

Thanks for your answer.
Is your unit C675 (India)? The Indian EMUI 8 rom is poorly optimised in terms of battery management, as I am hearing from multiple users.

samsung s9 exynos

Hi. I want to buy s9 (exynos version). My question is: what about battery life? When samsung releases this phone in internet people talked about a huge stand by drain. It is fixed now with android pie?
It depends on your usage...
My day starts at 6:30 o'clock (100%) until 1:50-2:00 my battery is 45-55 percent with 1:30 SOT
My usage is simple (Facebook messenger , YouTube, Netflix ,insta twitter etc)
My maximum Sot time is 4:26 hrs from 100% until 1%
(Only twice....most of the time my sot is about 2:50 )
I was expecting more for 700€ phone
My friend has an iPhone 8 and he is getting 6-7sot time with 4g youtube and games
That sot of time i got while testing the redmi 5 plus
I think you should buy the OnePlus 6t instead
I think the battery life with wifi is just OK (of course not for a 700$ starting price...) But it's terrible with 4G, very bad for the price. Fast charging made me less disappointed though.
But my friend has also the exynos galaxy S9 and she get more than one day (complete 24 hours) with more than 6 hours of SOT.
I think the battery life isn't the only aspect you should look for before buying a phone. The S9 is a very good phone in my opinion

best real battery life S10 or S20 under exynos ?

Hello,
I upgraded to the new S20 since tuesday but it seems my S10 at same screen definition FHD+ and 60Hz refresh rate was lasting more in real daily life use, phone, chat, surf on wifi or 4G.
I wonder if the battery will improve within the next days or if I should keep my S10 to get a better battery life.
I just don't want to buy a new phone with less battery life .
Kind regards.
the 120hz refresh rate screen is affecting the battery performance pretty drastically. I read that you get 30% more screen-on time on the S20 when it's configured to 60hz.
I believe that you should compare between the S10 and the S20 while both on 60hz and decide according to that.
on daily basis you can use 120hz and on days that you need more battery usage - move to 60hz.
Already did, thx
