Question After Update, Google Assistant defaulting to text input - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

After installing the update this morning, Google defaults to text input even though I have voice input preferred. This also is happening when I hold down the home button to activate Google. Has anybody found a fix to default back to voice? I have the T-Mobile version. Thanks

[Q] Voice Search instead of Voice Dialer Bluetooth?

What needs to be changed to be able to use Voice Search as the default dialer app instead of Voice Dialer over bluetooth? The Voice Search app does a much better job of performing actions, but it requires me to touch the screen to activate it. When I press the MFB on my Q2 it only launches the Voice Dialer and gives me no options to change the app.
I found an issue report for this on Google, but thought maybe the devs here could do it better/faster.

I already filed an issue back right after Voice Actions came out:

Thanks for the response. I starred your Issue as well. Hopefully this will get addressed quickly.
Bugged Cyanogen about this possibly being rolled into CM6.1.

[Q] no getting text messages and asking for permision before answering phone calls

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.instal new update 1.2t with new apps
2.set up gogle voice for voice mail
I update and flashed decks 1.2t i updated my ratios to the latest started using goggle voice as a voice mail default sign out google voice and then i start having issues not getting text messages and i am able to send them but i cant receive them also noticed an annoying call setting when recieving calls it asks to press 1 to recieve call or 2 to voicemail i tried wiping everything several times and reflashing already 5 times even went back to 1.0 i even try used vr superwipe and try other roms still issue idk what can i do i would highly appreciate your input
Which phone and version are you using?
htc evo 0003
1.2t
latest ratios
I noticed that i could log into goggle voice and get my text messages but i would rather not used it anymore and i cant figure out that answering system thanks guys i would highly apreciate your help
I had the same issue. Went you integrate Google Voice it will automatically intercept your sms, along with calls. If you use a computer and go to Google and sign into Voice you will be able to modify your settings there. That or download the Google Voice app, sign in and sign out. That allowed me to use the native sms app
I tried signing in and out of the app but still doesn't do it anytime someone calls me I slide screen to answer then voice setting ask to press the #1key to answer or#2 to voicemailthis setting is really annoying I can't get rid of it

Google Voice Voicemail feature not working

Hey guys,
I am on Evo-deck v1.2 and I cannot get google voice voicemail working properly.
I followed the steps of installing the app, and dialing *287195825907 from my cell phone. When I do this, it says "welcome to verizon wireless..." (I'm on sprint though????). I've followed the directions to setting up the google voicemail on my evo online and on my phone.
On my phone's phone app under preferences, my voicemail handler is set to "none(dial voicemail number)" and an option for google voice is not even available. Any idea on how to fix this?

I would recommend uninstalling the app, then try re-setting it up.
tried that...no matter what i do, when i go to the preferences in the phone dialer, i do not see google voice as an option.

Well you would change the setting from the call settings under settings, and set voice mail to google voice.
it doesnt have google voice listed as an option despite me having followed the online instructions for setting up google voice
got it working.. just did the google online instructions. rebooted phone and then it started wroking

[Q] How do you turn off voicemail passcode?

Hi Guys-I did search on this forum, google search and on Sprint's website. The answer on Sprint does not seem to apply to this phone and only allows me to change the pin. Is there a way to not have to use? I remember when activated phone and set up first time there was a choice to use pin or not. I cannot find how to disable this now.
Thank You,
Doc
Call your voicemail by pressing and holding the 1 button.
Now press 4 for options.
On mine, it says I have chosen to skip my voicemail passcode, press 1 to turn it on. I'm guessing it should be the opposite for you.
If the above does not work, press 7 to go into expert mode and you can change it there. HTH.
Thanks itbmd. It seems I created my own problem by trying the Google Voice using my sprint number. Apparently the settings for google voice voicemail are different and do not allow going without a passcode. When I disabled google voice it then removed voicemail completely from my sprint accountT. I had to call sprint and had the voicemail added back. Last time I will try this again!
Thanks,
Doc

T-Mobile - Google Voice crashes when configuring voicemail

I'm having issues getting Google Voice running on my new phone. I had it running on a G2x just fine. Everytime I get to the stage where it syas it will configure voicemail to use Google Voice it comes back with com.android.phone has stopped.
So far as I can tell it's failing to configure voicemail, however unlike my G2x I can't find the voicemail number setting under the phone settings to see what it is set to. I don't know if this is a GSIII thing or something to do with ICS.
Anyone else run into problems configuring google voice?
Restart then try launching voice again.it went away for me. The problem I have now is that I cannot get the old voicemail icon to clear.

You just have to change the forwarding calls number to your Google Voice number. That should be all that needs to be done.

I had this problem too. You can change the forwarding numbers in the call settings or go to the Google voice web page and activite voicemail on the device.
This is what fixed it for me

Thanks guys. I've visited the voice web page and got the number there to input on the device. Hopefully that'll do it.
Clearing old VoiceMail Icon
Disable WiFi Calling
De-Activate Voice on Website from Desktop
Uninstall "Google Voice"
Open "Phone" - where you dial out to make calls
Press "Menu" and then "Call Settings"
Change Voicemail Setting to "Carrier"
Enter "Call Forwarding" Options
Leave the First Option Disabled
Disable the last Option, it will reset to your carrier's voicemail number
Make sure the 2-4 options all have your carrier's voicemail number.
Restart phone.
Call it from another phone and leave a voicemail.
Listen to and delete the new voicemail you just left.
Voicemail Icon cleared.
Now you should be able to setup Voice properly.
*NOTE*
Call Forwarding cannot be changed while WiFi calling is active.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Thank you so much! That worked perfectly!
It appears that T-Mobile locks down the Voicemail settings (where you can configure the direct dial number for voicemail). GV fails to change that when installing the "Google Voice" Voicemail service.
So far's I can tell on my Amaze is this is the number dialed when you hold down "1" or call "123."
T-Mo reps told me this is a third party app problem, when I told them it was Google Voice, the reps said "Call HTC, it's a hardware issue." HTC's technical support had a good laugh at that. T-Mobile's reps are full of it; they just don't like changing the number.
