Question Can anyone post a tutorial on how to build Android for this device? - Moto G40 / G60

Hello guys,
The question is in the title. I've found a lot of tutorials on how to build Android in general, but not specific for this device.
Can anyone post a tutorial on how to do that? I'd be interested in Pixel Experience for example. But applied for this device. PixelExperience does have its Wiki, but...since this device is not officially supported, there is no tutorial for it specifically. So...how do you build Pixel Experience in this case? Where do you get reliable sources? And which sources do you need?

Do you want to make your own rom? don't know. .

I'm trying to learn how to build Android for myself, yes. But it's harder than I thought.

I just saw in the telegram group that someone announced the "Superman" os based on Android 13, and the response was very enthusiastic

Nice! I'm curious which sources did they use.

Android Oreo LeEco le pro 3 ?

I understand that it is not easy to compile a ROM and have to see more stuff. But many other devices even YU LETTUCE already have oreo, a developer named Carlos Arriaga who compiled LINEAGE OS 15 FO MOTO G1 mentioned that this device should already have oreo. they could mention that it is what prevents us from having oreo. if it is the need to have testers there are many people interested.
Forgive me for posting here, but I needed answers.

Sure, but I'm not a developer xD
LeEcos dev team is too small, modifications are too large there are finance troubles. Maybe we'll get Nougat, but we should look at moders work. There will be custom Oreo soon.
Leeco will never update he's devices....just they don't have money, cheap phones no support that is all.
The last thing which is needed when a new android version gets released are testers.
What we really need is more active and good developers.
You can track the project here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/development/rom-lineageos-15-0-leeco-le-pro3-t3683720

Lenovo P2a42 Android Q Update

Hello everybody,
Title says it all, I heard the requirements for flashing an Android Q GSI was increased, does the Lenovo P2a42 still manage to get away with it? It runs Oreo and Pie just fine, with the Treble enabled, but that's about it.
Source: https://www.xda-developers.com/install-android-q-beta-gsi-project-treble/
The build.prop says my current ROM is running Treble, however the other 2 tests mentioned in the source show false for me, and I'm not sure if I did it wrong, or my current ROM simply didn't support it, or is this phone finally meeting its end? Can it handle Android Q's requirements or is this the end?
Thank you for your time.
You are thinking way too much. Just enjoy the moment and don't stress much dude. When Q is released, we will know it. As long as the devs are interested, everything is possible.
Is there any full supported a/b methodology?

Telegram, one developer installed Android Q in p2 and posted some screenshots..... So we might be getting Q Roms.
LineageOS dev also announced he will be working on it soon, see the other thread on here
What is the most stable ROM for Lenovo P2? Android 9 and 10.
Thank you for your advise.

At the moment, Bootleggers 4.3 is the most stable Android 9 ROM for P2. No Android 10 is at its level due to stability issues.

Fairphone 3 / LineageOS questions

Hello!
I'm not a developer but a satisfied user of LineageOS (on LG G3) for several years. Any LOS developers reading this: Thank you for your great work!
I recently bought a Fairphone 3, as my second-hand G3 is getting more quirky with age. So my question is:
If someone started building LineageOS for Fairphone 3, where whould I find it (first) on this site? And is there a need for beta testers when building LineageOS for new devices (if so, I'll sign up)?

Thank you, I wasn't aware of that forum/thread. One of the posts also had a link to a page with supported OSes (I cannot link it now, as I'm too new a user on this forum). Anyway, nothing but FairPhoneOS so far, as is only to be expected. Oh well, I'm happy enough in the meantime.

What's the deal with that "Your ecloud account @e.email is at the centre of the ecosystem...". Running away from google, why would I tie myself to just another cloud thingy? Or is not necessary?

Rom options

would we be able to install a non miui rom on this phone?
Sure. But there isn't any out right now. Development has been slow because many reasons including kernel source not being released fully initially and phone being bricked way too easily with test builds. If you're looking to buy the phone with hopes of flashing a custom ROM, go for the Mi 9T Pro instead. If you already have the phone, be patient for a while.
There's hope from POSP dev, he's actually tried hard building a rom for this device despite getting bricked so many times. Still in progress, be patient.

PHH's AOSP GSI ROM actually works on this device, just download the A/B version of the GSI and you're good to go.

Huh? Why are we hearing about this for the first time?
We need everybody to promote the bricking issue of redmi note 8 pro so that xiaomi will remove the authentication account.it's absurd to keep us blocked from developing. Pleace make posts everywhere you can so people will know the problem. follow the #note8probrick on twitter and express your dissapointment

The N8pro is known to work at the moment after being flashed with that particular ROM, but it really needs to be tested for bugs before it gets promoted as an option.
There are also some other ROMs that derive from PHH's AOSP GSI ROM that could possibly work on the N8pro such as LineageOS 16, Resurrection Remix, and HavocOS

Question Will I Receive Regular Updates in Custom ROMs Even if it is not updated for Moto g40/60

I have a doubt about Custom ROMs, I have a smartphone moto g40 fusion and right now I think updates are very rare in this smartphone so that's why i am thinking about installing custom rom like LineageOS or EvolutionX in moto g40. But I found last info about custom ROM was posted in Moto g40/60 forum was on May 2022 and it too much in past so will I get updates even if I install it right now. And if possible plz explain how update work in custom rom like how devs update them, like do they update only like LineageOS or specifically moto g40/60 LineageOS every time. thanx in advance .

As you can see here, @Raghu varma just updated his build on January 7th. Just remember, since this is an unofficial build you will have to manually update it.

Custom roms are updated at the discretion of the Dev.
They can stop updating at any time, or continue working on it for years.

Then will I have to flash my phone after every update release by Dev working on this phone.. is there any easy way to get update even after dev stop working on this Custom ROM like can I update it?, sorry for asking like this is going to be an easy task but I am just curious that may be it will be just building files from source code after copying updates from google to LineageOS for my phone. Thanx for clearing my doubts @ethical_haquer and @sd_shadow .

Yes, you would have to manually flash updates, and it requires quite a bit of expertise to build your own updates. The more popular a build is, the more likely it is that it will continue to be maintained.

Thanx uhh so much for your explanation @ethical_haquer . I think I should check out some details for basics of custom ROM building.... if possible (sorry for asking again and again) can you provide some roadmap like blueprint for basic ROM development or updating rom for personal phones.,

Would love to help, but I haven't gotten into building my own ROMs yet; I'm a Linux enthusiast, and just started running Lineage OS on my A52 4G and Raspberry Pi. You could try contacting @KonstaT though, he is maintaining a bunch of Lineage OS builds and might be able to help you, or at least point you in the right direction.
