Question Realme C21-Y RMX3263: hard reset - factory reset with black screen / no button - Realme C21

Hello,
sorry to write here, I cant find the C21-Y section.
Direct question: is there a way to perform a factory reset not having the possibility to do it using the combination VOLD DOWN + POWER BUTTON and NOR using the standard Android UI?
Note, not activated debug mode
For more details see here below
I recently did a factory reset in "normal way", I mean using the standard Android user interface through normal menu.
Then, I changed only 3 things (without considering the minimum settings required at the first boot): show battery percentage, start black user interface menu and then after selecting the high contrast display... the display became black.
The display is responsive, because the phone vibrates if I touch in the position of the 3 buttons (back, multi, back).
Then, waking up the phone I can see the black smoothing on the display (hoping to make myself clear...) and I'm able - fortunately - to switch OFF the phone (basically touching the display in the right position and swiping to back, after holding a little the phisical on-off button).
Then, the display is working in the boot sequence (I can see the Android logo and the Realme animation): it stops once the Android system is loaded.
So, I tried booting the phone with the combination VOL DOWN + POWER BUTTON but it doesn't work... It seems an issue that afflict some pieces of this phone (read in some post, video I searched before writing here)
Well, how I can in this situation perform a factory reset?

You should be able to boot in to recovery mode where the device is powered off state and when you use key combinations to do
Keep holding the keys even if you see splash screen, untill recovery screen appears
You can also try holding volume key and connecting to computer via USB cable, without needing power button.

Unfortunately with this phone (or the Android version installed in the one I have) have some issues and... butroon combinations are not working
I think I've tried in every way, different combinations. No luck
Both (button combination and black screen) seems to be "common" (search on youtube black screen C21-Y) and the only way is to flash it and/or force the factory from PC (I don't have at the moment understood if for thios phone the only factory from PC is working)
Being a sw issue I'm trying to intercept Realme support, before trying any flash or something similar... but after the first answer to my mail they didn't come back again

I just call Realme support for a similar issue on C21-Y. They tell me this model doesn't have a recovery installed and olny way is to send back to factory and they will provide a factory reset.
What a bad product, no words.

Follow this, it worked in my case (without flashing the phone)

how to unlock htc touch without password

Friends,
I've just joined the forum. My HTC touch has just been locked itself and I can't unlock it because I didn't set a password. I still can receive calls but can't make calls, the screen is password screen, nothing else. I can't shut it down without removing the battery.
I tried PIN, PUK, IMEI, 0000, 1234, etc but didn't work. I tried soft reset but didn't help. Tried hard reset but it didn't reset. I tried the SIM card in other phones, it works, thus, the problem is the device.
Any help will be appreciated...

You want to double check about that hard reset. I think you've probably only done a soft reset. A hard reset will reset the machine back and wipe off ALL your data and settings, including the password.
The front screen password of which you are referring to NOT any of the ones you have listed, but instead it is something you would have set when setting up the device.
Have a try with some of your usual passwords
I have tried hard reset (pushing green and red buttons at the same time pushing the reset button with its own pen) but, didn't reset (since there appeared no message on the screen like "the data will be lost"). I think those two buttons are not functional because of password. Every time I tried hard reset it has done the soft one.
thanks anyway

I'd suggest you query this in the HTC Touch forum rather than the General Forum for everything, as they have more intimate knowledge to help you
Hi there, my HTC touch just did the same today. I never set a password.
I contacted my IT guy and he mentioned the following:
Try number 1 once, and then tap unlock.
WORKED BRILLIANTLY!!
The HTC Touch does that all the time.
All you need to do is hold down the Send and End Call buttons down firmly and push the stylus up in the little hole near the usb port (Reset Button) and wait till the screen says that the phone is going to format and all data will be lost press the soft key to continue. Then when it says that press the center button and it will show Fat formatting and Rom formatting. This will erase all data on your touch so make sure you back up.
After turn on the phone and go through the set up and it should be perfectly ok.
You can do this for two reasons.
1. To reset the phone locks.
2. To repair the touch screen if it stops working.
Hope this helps. Enjoy
Dotybizz, I guess the O/P wanted a way to recover without wiping his data. However, due to the security reasons I'm sure you know about often that isn't a suitable option.
Not working

I tried but fails. Can you advice something more. I need it badly man.
solve = hard reset
for hard reset press volume down button + center button + red reset button
A Hard Reset restores the device to its default settings - the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on. Any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on the device will be lost. Only Windows Mobile software and other pre-installed programs will remain.
There are 2 ways to perform a Hard Reset on this device:
Menu path
* 1. From the Today Screen, go to Start>Settings.Select the System Tab and then tap on Clear Storage.
* 2. Enter in the password provided on the display of the device (should be 1234) and tap Yes.
* 3. The device will begin the Master Reset Process.
Keystroke Method
* 1. Power the device off.
* 2. Press and hold the Volume Down and Center Navigation Button at same time, do not release.
* 3. Press Power button and hold for a 3 count (quickly - say one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three). 1-2 seconds is too short, 4-5 seconds is too long.
* 4. The screen will instantly show the text to hard reset (this is a white screen with Blue text that provides the next steps to complete the Hard Reset. If you do not get this screen, power the device off and try again).
* o Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data is backed up before proceeding.

So both of you guys/girls are posting on a thread that has no had any activity on almost a year, eh?

samsung i780 how to hard reset

my fd got a i780 in hong kong and try to put in chinese rom failed.anyone knows how to do hard reset with it?
and any rom with wm6.1 eng for i780 ?
Spoke to Samsung today .... and it would appear that the rumours are true and that no -one including Samsung know how to perform hard reset !!
They also confirmed they would not be able to flash update the ROM to UK version for me .... GREAT !!!
I have located a friendly forum member who has a UK working version and is happy to dump the ROM .... but we don't know how to ....
Can anyone help in a step by step approach to dumping ROM and then creating a flashable version I can use?
Any help from anyone Really gratefully received ....
This is too bad.....has anyone tried using a program for Safemode on this ppc?.....perhaps thats the only way to perform a hardreset for those that are stuck on the welcome screen.....because the safemode will kick in when the ppc detects resets in a loop and then thats when you're able to enter the ppc in safemode just like a normal pc......i guess from here you can either uninstall the program that was incompatible or go through start-setting etc etc-hard reset option......anyone here cares to try this and let us know which safemode program they are using and if it works?.....thanks
You can Install RealVGA, and then also the Language Pack.
So you can change the Language of your i780.
Should we start a trial and error method on the hard reset?

Didn't work for me.
I had an idea... Use AEBPlus. Find the software app that does the hard reset and map it to a key combination in AEBPlus. Even is the screen does not work, if you know the password (usually 1234, enter) then this might work as a backup fix until another way is found.

Saw this in PPCSG Forums, maybe you could try this...
"Can someone try if the below steps can cold reset the I780???
1. Remove the storage card from the device, if one is
present.
2. With phone powered off:
Press and hold both the left and right softkeys.

hold until the unit powers on.
3. As the device begins to power on, release both

[Q] SGH-M919 - Black screen after entering encryption key

Re-typing this entire question because the forum ate it before posting it.
SGH-M919 (NOT T-Mobile, but a carrier called GCI.)
Contract was bought-out by another carrier so I could get an iPhone. Trying to get the Galaxy reset to factory condition so it's re-usable.
Galaxy was encrypted to comply with work email requirements. I needed to reset the phone quickly and couldn't find the factory reset menu option so I gave it the Volume Up + Power salute. I chose to erase user data / factory reset. I later read that this method may cause issues if the phone isn't DEcrypted first.
When the phone boots up it wants the encryption key. (I wanted the user partition WIPED, not just emptied.) If I intentionally give it the wrong key it keeps asking for one. If I enter the correct key it briefly shows the outline of the green Android logo then the screen goes black. Phone is not dead because my Mac recognizes it as a network interface when the phone screen is blank. The menu and back keys don't respond or illuminate, however, if I reboot the phone, enter the encryption key and then repeatedly tap the menu button until the green Android image disappears the buttons will stay illuminated.
I don't care about what was on the phone. I wanted it to be as if I had just turned it on for the first time.
Should I try having the carrier, who no longer services the phone, try to re-flash it? I've tried making heads or tails of how to flash it myself but the fact that it's locked to a tiny carrier it's next to impossible to find any helpful info. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Galaxy Note 3 Wont Boot

So I was watching a show on my tablet. and then the tablet just froze. I tried to reboot it. and the screen just stays stuck at the Samsung Load screen. I have Team Win Recovery installed on it. So I used the commands to get into it. and see if I could reboot and reset through there. But when I go to reboot it tells me my System has no OS do I still want to reboot, reset or whatever I try to do.
My PC isn't recognizing my device. So I can open it up at all. I did not have a SD card in my Tablet. but I do have one in my phone and it does fit into my Note III so I believe it should/would work for any steps I may need to do to help fix this problem. Any ideas or suggestions on how to deal with this?
I've seen this before...
...THIS MAY OR MAY NOT work (CAPS for emphasis only).
The way we solve that because the symptoms you are describing are often the result of a corrupted cache that effects that startup of processes in the background. Clearing the cache might help if the following doesn't work, but don't clear it first because going through this process sometimes requires that whatever data is in the cache remain undisturbed...
(Remember, Android is just a portable version of Linux).
Part 1 of 2 - Enter Safe Mode (ignore all other directions except for using the hardware keys to enter safe mode)
Safe mode
Turn on and use safe mode
Safe mode allows you to turn on the device with third-party apps disabled. Then you can easily remove all apps that may be causing a conflict or software problem.
To turn on safe mode and use it to fix app problems, follow these steps:
Turn on safe mode
Turn the device off.
Press and hold the Power key.
When 'GALAXY Note 3' appears on the screen, release the Power key. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
'Safe mode' will display in the bottom left corner of the screen. Release the Volume down key when you see 'Safe Mode.'
Uninstall third party applications
Turn on Safe Mode.
From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
Tap Settings.
Tap the General tab.
Tap Application manager.
If necessary, swipe right to the Downloaded screen.
Tap the desired application.
Tap Uninstall and then tap OK.
Turn off safe mode
To turn off safe mode, follow these steps:
Press and hold the Power key.
Tap Restart.
The same steps are located on the following URL for entering Safe Mode:
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-9049
Part 2 of 2 :
If you were successful in engaging Safe Mode, it is more than likely you will see an option screen come up that lists "TouchWiz" , KNOX (Possibly, and varies depending on your config and KNOW Counter Status {i.e. "0x0" or "0x1}, and TouchWiz Simple.
Please pick TouchWiz and DO NOT pick TouchWiz Simple.
Your Note 3 should then start without incident; however we would recommend you backup your data and reload your device with fresh installs as soon as possible.
Hope this helps.
The Tablet wont even boot up into Safe Mode. the Tablet doesnt boot at all. It just stays stuck at Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 screen.
I can use the hard keys to enter into Odin Mode and Team Win Recovery thats it.
Thanks for clarifying. Different steps will be required then. Be careful, and read the other two links carefully that are listed in order of importance to get your Note 3 back up and running:
[Step 1]
Hardware reset using Hardware Buttons ( You WILL LOSE ALL OF YOUR DATA {CAPS for emphasis only} )
Master reset with hardware keys
A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.
If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys. To perform a master reset, follow these steps:
Back up all data on the internal memory.
Turn off the device.
Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time:
Volume Up key
Home key
Power key.
When 'GALAXY Note 3' appears on the screen, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
Press the Volume down key to highlight 'wipe data / factory reset.'
Press Power button to select.
Press the Volume down key to highlight 'delete all user data.'
Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, 'Reboot system now' is highlighted.
Press the Power key to turn the restart the device.
Directions also featured on the following URL: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-9049
[Step 2]
Forget about ODIN and you can use Heimdall with the build of your choice provided it is supported by the BootLoader (i.e. KitKat BootLoader will not load JellyBean).
The instructions are in the following URL as are links to the appropriate software:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2545009
IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH A USB3 Cable. Instead use a USB2 cable because USB3 connections via the Note 3 have been known to not be the most stable, and you will receive much more reliable connectivity using USB2 that is essential to the reload process.
Hope this all helps, and please let us know how successful you were.

Galaxy S7 Active - black screen of death

My Galaxy S7 Active just went to the dark side yesterday. (and is not even May 4th yet).
Found out phone itself is still kicking. I can call it it, but answering is very tricky.
Went on the start ADB to recover some of the data of it, images, messages, ....
but darnit, not my lucky day: USB developer option is not enabled.
Doing some more research I found this thread:
androidDOTstackexchangeDOTcomSLASHquestionsSLASH12834SLASHbroken-screen-while-debug-mode-was-disabled-how-can-i-re-enable-adb
This requires to get the Samsung S7 active into recovery mode, by using the 3-finger salute on the phone.
To enable recovery mode on the S7 you first need to power down the phone. Since you can't see the screen, the easiest is to force power down:
a) press VOL-down and power key for 7+ seconds and wait a while
b) then press VOL-up, home and power key all simultaneously. When you see a blueish line text flashing up, release all key
sit back and wait a while while the phone boots up in recovery mode.
Finally a menu will show up allowing you to select various different options, which can be selected with the VOL-up and -down keys.
I worked all this out with another older Samsung phone running , different model and older version of Android.
My 'broken' Galaxy S7 Active is running Android 8 (oreo?), maintained and updated by the AT&T automatic DFU process.
On all the Samsung phones I've looked so far the number of option and order in the recovery menu is slightly different.
Since the display is broken I can't see what is available. And I want to make sure I do not identically select the ' clean and wipe' option.
Could someone please post a pic of recovery option menu from an S7 running Android 8.
Not sure if it matters: could the Active model be different?
thanks in advance that would be really helpful.
