Question Any way to flash stock ROM if my phone is on "anti:1" - Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE

All the stock MIUI rom available have an anti-rollback lv 0. Am I basically SOL until Xiaomi releases a rom that is anti-rollback lv 1 or is there a workaround? My phone is the global version if that helps.

I think I have the same phone as you do. My last lifeline was to try and flash the Pixel boot.img and see if that would at least get me recovery. No luck. Not really sure what to do at this point, but I think that it's the anti-rollback that may be causing a problem for me as well - just not sure what else is on there that could prevent it from accepting and booting a flash recovery. None that I've tried (lineage, pixel, orange, or twrp) work.
I think I'm just going to set the phone aside for a few months and hope that something develops in the meantime. Right now the phone is stuck in fastboot and is still a recognized device. I'd hate to blackscreen it by experimenting.
Just an aside, at this point I'd be very cautious about trying to flash a custom ROM to any handset that's been OTA upgraded to Android 12/Miui 13.

I gave it one last try using zgfg's recommendation here:
Bootloop Fastboot (stock) / Phone locked for security reason (Xiaomi.eu)
Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE (Lisa) Stock 12.5.8 EEA Bootloader unlocked, Orange Fox recovery and Magisk Canary 25.2 I was running the same set-up for a couple of months, by only updating when newer Magisk was released or some module. I never had any...
forum.xda-developers.com
Downloaded the -fastboot EU ROM which came with it's own .batch file in the archive. It pretty much wiped everything from the phone and installed a functioning version of A12/Miui13 and the handset is working again.

It's the same with me *anti 1*, I wanted to install miui eu. Is it smart, if anyone can give some advice. Thanks and regards .

Fastboot ROM, Stock or Xiaomi.eu (eu if you wanna flash other roms) if you haven't solved it yet.

Just like Mthw, i was on MIUI 13.0.10 EEA and anti 1, gone back and forward between stock (only used stock fastboot) and custom, only problem was trying to flash other roms from stock, without first flashing eu fastboot.

Rollback Protection

I understand that with thins new update it becomes impossible to downgrade to previous versions of MIUI but how about custom roms like lineage? Or installing twrp and magisk? There is a lot of info scattered but i would like to get some answers and update OP with something like a FAQ of do and Do not to make it easier for everybody
*Work in Progress*
-Miui 10
- From 8.7.10 onward flashing TWRP is impossible but booting into TWRP is possible from Fastboot using "fastboot boot recovery.img"
- There is one report of a successful Treble Lineage Flash ( take it with a grain of salt )

Yes we need to know if possible flash custom roms or not. If yes the anti rollback isnt a big deal.
I updated to latest global beta.......now i cant flash twrp recovery now because of this anti rollback.
in my expiriance with LG G4 with antirollback. i could flash any custom rom aosp laos. just stock rom from LG i could not . qfuse will blow and brick phone.. this was only on LG firmware stock roms. not sure if its the same in xiaomi.
TWRP can be installed
Im currently on Miui 10 8.7.12 global beta
I have TWRP 3.2.1 installed along with magisk 16.0 :good:
Everything works fine
Have no intention of going back to previous builds

did you install before or after updating?
Installed it after as twrp was replaced by stock.
After rooting it works fine
Anti roll back is already in moto phones. Only problem is rollback to stock only you can flash 8.1 to 7.1 custom ROMs. Even in stock you can skip bootloader files and flash to rollback with upgraded bootloader. Its new to xiaomi.
So Anti-rollback is no big deal because we can install TWRP + custom roms then? Some people say no (they can't, with little to no evidence) and others say yes (with decent evidence). Do we know what's up, I read comments telling it's basically 50:50. Is it device dependant, or do we need some exploits in terms of drivers/software usage etc? Thanks for your reply!
I'm also searching whether we can install custom rom or not ?
My RN5 AI came with stable MIUI 9.5.22.0. When I tried to install TWRP, to begin the process of flashing RR, I got the anti-rollback message and TWRP install failed.
You can install custom recovery and roms. Method here: Everything About Anti Roll-back .

Did you check the version of anti-rollback via fastboot (fastboot getvar anti)?
What was your method of flashing? Minimal adb and fastboot flash recovery redwolf.img and then boot into it, or just booting into it and flashing redwolf.img from the recovery itself? Did you use lazyflasher afterwards, or is it even necessay with redwolf? Which version of Redwolf did you use?
Thanks for your effort and sorry for all of these questions, I really hope we can help the community out. Plz tell then if you succeed in flashing a custom rom

So nothing has changed regarding flashing recovery and custom roms? I mean, people managed to flash twrp/redwolf the normal way --> doing the same with custom roms. I don't think we have a problem here but still this new implementation makes me nervous...
Edit: huh, no just flashing the antibypass image before doing the twrp in case you are on anti rollback > 3. Just with "fastboot getvar anti" the version, if you are on 3 you are good, if you are on 4 use the method the link I guess...

Basic Answers to Flashing procedure

Hey guys, I am new to whyred , flashed alot on other phones tho. Got some questions regarding the process of things I have to do to not mess up. I would do it like this:
0. I am on 9.5.19. miui global stable.
1. Unlock bootloader after 360 hours (hopefully)
2. Boot into Fastboot, boot up twrp image via command and then flash twrp via twrp.
3. Do I have to flash lazyflasher when I flash magisk? Which version of magisk is recommended atm? 1600?
4. After flashing one (or both, I don't know) I would go with flashing aosip or havoc (which is better on battery, features and over all performance?).
5. Do I have to flash some firmware or anything?
6. Since I am on Anti 4 (probably, didn't check yet but I am quite sure since I updated on 9.5.19) do I have to be aware of something else important?
Thank you guys for every help. If my answers will get answered and everything runs smooth sailing I will write a noob/starting guide to focus the knowledge a bit more. It seems really clustered in this forum
Do not flash any firmware for now. Since your are in 9.5.19 it has anti 4 enabled.. flashing firmware over anti 4 will brick your device.
Unlock bootloader
Boot to twrp and flash twrp
Wipe system cache dataa and flash custom ROM and gapps
Reboot to system
Reboot to twrp and flash magisk

Yes. If you are in 9.2.13 build then you have to flash firmware along with custom ROM.
But if you are running 9.5.19 build do not flash any firmware. Just ROM and gapps is enough

Yes you have to flash firmware file recommended by custom rom developer to avoid problems while using custom ROM. And its not related to anti rollback protection.
All the firmware recommended by developers doesnt have anti rollback protection but you shouldn't flash firmware file if you are using 9.5.19 stable build or 8.7.12 beta build because these build contains ARP and flashing firmware in ARP enabled device will brick your mobile

I'm a bit confused here. I have always been under the impression that firmware = ROM (with other phone brands) and they seem to be discussed interchangeably. Now with my Xiaomi Note 5 Pro, I hear about these as separate items a lot. What is the difference between firmware and the custom ROM, at least in the Xiaomi world? How do I know when I am dealing with one or the other?
TIA,

Your understanding is correct firmware is nothing but a ROM, but in custom ROM, developers dont include bootloader (In custom ROM world firmware contains bootloader related stuffs) in their OS because they will make use of bootloader from stock ROM thats why developer recommended firmware files so that their ROM works perfectly without any problem.
I might be wrong but this is how things work here. If you are on lastest global MIUI beta ROM then you dont have to flash recommended firmware file by custom ROM developer

So when people talk about flashing firmware, they're really saying to flash/change the bootloader? Does the bootloader have a name, version number we would reference, or it's just 'the bootloader for MIUI Global 9..5.19.0'?
If I understand you correctly, if someone offers a ROM with and without firmware, you could install the ROM without firmware and it would work ok, but installing with the firmware (changing the bootloader) would make the ROM work better? Or just do the ROM with firmware if you have problems with the version that didn't install the firmware/bootloader?
I'm on MIUI Global 9.5.19.0. (just normal ROM), but with unlocked bootloader, twrp, Magisk installed (I can't work without my Titanium Backup Pro!)

Most of the firmware recommended by developers contains older bootloader (Antirollback protection version 3)
Since you are in 9.5.19 your bootloader has Antirollback protection (ARP 4) so if you try to flash older firmware then your mobile will get bricked so avoid flashing any firmware recommended by developer because you already have latest bootloader
Firmware name will be based on global beta ROM version

Stucked in Fastboot mode

Hi Guys,
I am stucked at fastboot mode afterb trying to flash back to China Rom,how to get out of it?
Thanks in advance.
Mi max 3 anti roll back, you mus flash last version to unbrick your device
1. This is not the right section for this question.
2. if you came from 8.8.23 China Beta you have Anti-rollback, which means that to move to china stable you would have to wait for the next china release and flash it from the updater app and not from fastboot. I know its annoying but its safe. If you are stuck in fastboot try flashing latest 8.8.23 China Beta from mi flasher
3. if you came from 8.8.9 China Beta, Try flashing 8.8.9 again
This happened me too today. My phone arrived with the fake global rom 9.6.4. I was flashing official Chinese rom v9.6.11.0 and got a message saying flash successful, however a window also popped up saying MiFlash stopped working and my phone was stuck on the fastboot screen then.
If you find a solution to this problem I would appreciate it and vice versa.

1- flash and boot to twrp
2- format data then wipe (system and cashes)
3- flash xiaomi.eu 8.8.9 or any release before that and reboot
4- use mi flashtool to flash any stable before 9.6.12 or beta before 8.8.17 and choose wipe all and lock in mi flashtool ( this is very important to unlock it your self later with official permission)

yes, most of the unlocked phones from retailers are unlocked without official authorization and that is the main reason for ADB/fast boot fails in some cases , I have MM1, MM2 and now MM3 and I know this by experience.

hi, you enlighten me so much. can i ask more? now what rom do u use in mi max 3? and why?
So to rectify, I tried to flash the official China ROM V.9.6.11 again. It did not flash properly again the 2nd time.
I then asked it to "flash and lock". Official China ROM flashed now and operating on my phone.
My plan is now to apply to have the phone OFFICIALLY unlocked, as it was obviously unofficially unlocked to put the fake Global ROM on it by the vendor, which caused a problem being stuck in Fastboot.
I do not mind waiting the 2 weeks, and once unlocked I will either put the Xiaomi.EU rom on it, or hopefully the official Global ROM will be released by that time.

Where I can download the official rom to use mui flash?
Where i can find an explanation to use mui flash? Cause after lock the boot loader the phone is in bootloop...

in step (1) flash official twrp ( I used minimal adb v1.4.3), step (3) is to have correct firmware and avoid mi flasher fail and boot loop ( many guys try flashing directly from fake rom to China but ended up with bootloops)

Alright, so I am on China stable 9.6.11 with TWRP (not Xiaomi original recovery). When I flashed my latest ROM, I chose "clean all and lock (bootloader)" per your instructions and I applied for offical bootloader unlocking by downloading Xiaomi flash unlocking. I still have 500+ hours, but I was told when my bootloader is unlocked eventually, my user data will be erased again.
So will it be a better idea to flash global stable ROM first or wait for the official bootloader unlocking then flash global stable ROM?
Question: I have China Stable 9.6.12.0 on mine Max3. If I want to install the Global Version should I have to wait for Global Version equal version (9.6.12.0) or later? Os there any suggestion to flash the incoming Global 9.6.7.0 on mine (ARB suposed to be implemented in mine version)?

Install Global ROM, Revert Stock Recovery afterwards

Good Day all,
I was wondering, is it possible to revert to the stock recovery after installing the Global ROM on the mi mix 3 China Version?
Reason I am wondering is because when I/We receive a OTA update from Xiaomi while using the Global ROM, will the phone be able to update or will it just freak out on me/us and die?
Currently I am waiting for my Bootloader to be unlocked (ETA 70HRS), I have all files necessary files downloaded (TWRP, Global ROM, Magisk v17.1)
Help/Advice would be appreciated :good:

I find you very helpful in the forum and I would like to ask you few questions, I am thinking about buying the device but only chinese version is available here and I cant wait for the global to arrive
my questions are:
1- global version only released with 6GB RAM , if I got chinese version with 8GB , will it be able to run the global ROM ?
2- I have never flashed a ROM before , but I have strong knowledge in linux and command lines, will this be a hard task for me to do ? is it risky to brick the device ?
3- After flashing the Global ROM , will I receive official OTA updates directly from xaiomi without any problems ?

You'd have to use the Xiaomi EU rom with or without magisk as the global ROM has a CTS mismatch so won't pass safety net.

What EU ROM would you suggest to get all features based on your experience?
Using Mi Mix 3 CN Version 6GB/128GB

So just to clarify, if I get a Chinese Mix 3, unlock bootloader, flash official global ROM, I CANNOT relock the bootloader, unless I flash back to the Chinese ROM?

Thank you for clarifying & replying quickly, was really hoping there would be a workaround or alternative way to get around the brick to be locked again but I guess not..

Thank you for the link.
So when I flash this ROM, will it also re-flash the stock recovery?
Will this make any difference when I/We recieved the weekly OTA update?

No, flashing the ROM will keep TWRP installed as it's a custom miui ROM.
OTA works and will automatically flash the update via TWRP for you.

Just a quick update for you all that I have successfully, unlocked the Bootloader and installed the ROM.
Just a quick note to mention that after you do:
fastboot flash recovery TWRP_perseus.img
DO NOT put in the command:
fastboot boot TWRP_perseus.img
After flashing TWRP just take your phone (either connected or disconnected from PC) and hold vol up and power. It will reboot in TWRP.
I tried rebooting into the recovery using the above command line and it just rebooted into MIUI Recovery.
Hope this helps :good:
GAPPS
Has anyone tried to flash GAPPS onto this ROM safely or would it mess everything up?

flashing the Indian fastboot rom without bricking the device

My redmi 6 pro had a chinese rom out of the box. Can I unlock bootloader and flash the Indian fastboot rom without bricking the device? As I live out of china and I rather have a non-chinese rom.
I have the same question.

Flashing indian rom will lock the bootloader. You can unlock again after flashing but, many user faced 30 days unlock waiting time for the second unlock. Keep that in mind,
And if you prefer global rom, use xiaomi.eu rom.

I heard that it may brick the device. What about that? As I don't have access to any official repair store. Btw I need the chinese fastboot rom incase anything goes wrong but I can't find it as it's not in the downloads page(only india rom). What can be done?
I want the eu rom flashing process to be completely safe and reversable in the future. But I don't have any china fastboot rom.
