ABOUT
CatalystOS is focused on performance, smoothness and stability with only necessary customisation. We bring some never seen before features to the custom rom community like schedule reboot and per-app landscape refresh rate, schedule airplane mode for standby battery saving. OTA updates are also supported. We usually send updates every weekend. This rom is co-developed by @Umang96 and @LordShenron .
SOME FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS
Force app refresh rate - force any app on min/max/dynamic refresh rate to have better control
Force app landscape refresh rate - force any app to run on min refresh rate when in landscape
Schedule reboot - reboot your phone automatically at specific time
Schedule airplane mode - set automatic airplane mode on/off time to save battery
Better (smaller) privacy indicators, charging indicator, cpu info overlay tile
DT2W, DT2S on homescreen/lockscreen/statusbar
Rom and kernel + dt side performance improvements

I installed it with TWRP and OTA can work

I had few issues during installing ROM because OrangeFox was replaced with default LoS recovery, but after few attempts it worked.
ROM seems to work smoothly. Fast charging looks working (I've over 8A now), GPS finds me fast. I managed to install succesfully Magisk or Viper4Android without any problems (I am surprised, it works even without Legace mode with my custom kernels and presets).
However, I miss few features and I hope they will be added someday.
- customization of AOD screen, I'm not saying they should be as advanced as on MIUI, but now... there is nothing except enable/disable via status bar and... hours for auto-disable AOD. I like always on display, but during night It's unecessary.
- swipe status bar to change brightness and remove auto-brightness icon
- usb tethering when clicking hotspot tile (it's faster than going to settings, type "usb teth..." and open it)
- hold longer power button to enable torchlight
edit:
- position of AOD display does not change, clock is always on top left corner and battery on bottom, to my mind it should change from time to time to avoid pixel burn-in.

@Umang96 the touch sensitivity seem a bit off, swipe up to open app drawer gesture require more motion than usual. Beside, can you add option to change system font? Android without Google Product Sans feel weird. Everything else is perfect to me. Thank you and keep up the good work!

I noticed it too on SwiftKey, I lowered vibrations for pressing keys to minimal 1ms, but they're still strong.

default camera has a big black area at the top is that normal?

Sweet ?

Hi, been trying out this ROM for a few hours now, few things I've noticed:
1. Changing clock position on status bar wont work (System - Status bar);
2. Network traffic monitor also not working (System - Status bar);
3. SELinux is disabled;
4. Overall animations feels a bit sluggish (lagging)?;
5. Limited camera settings on stock camera app;
6. LiveDisplay and Style tabs under Display not working (LineageOS Settings keeps stopping);
7. Adaptive brightness keeps resetting after restart or after longer deep sleep;
8. Alarm not working, for example, I set it to 8:30 and it does nothing then, alarm starts when I get to the phone, say 9:30.
9. Backlit keys turns always on when touching the screen, it would be awesome to get them lit only when touching them directly.
Otherwise really promising ROM, definitely going to keep testing this rom.
Huge thanks to developer, awesome work!

Most of the linage features are not implementet yet and you should try using the Google alarm app but I never had problems with that anyways

Hello,
I'm on the 9/16 build since yesterday. Really great, smoother than the Oreo's buillds. Congrats! No lags, no sudden boots, no app crashes. For now.
Just wondering, does anyone knows how to activate the navbar? When I search it with the key word in settings, it appears but when I enter the menu (Buttons as it seems), there's nothing related to the navbar.
And does anyone else have troubles with the notification bar? It keeps scrolling down everytime I press the home button ou swipe up to get to my apps drawer.
Regards,
Charles
EDIT: the status (notifications) bar issue was due to Nova launcher. Solved now.
add qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 in build.prop works for me

Yes, you can. Works fine.
Is there someone Experience battery drain while screen is off??
Anyone knows how to turn off hardware key light?
Main problem I have noticed on a G920F :
- The phone is overheating.
- The battery die so fast.
- The animations are not fluids : many lags.
- Stock camera too limited.
Any chance of fixing volte?
Or its impossible to fix it.

Download the MatLog app from the Play Store.
After downloading the MatLog app, go to the app settings, and change the log level to Debug.
Clear all previous logs and take the exact steps to produce the error you are receiving. As soon as you receive the error (probably a force close), go straight into MatLog and stop the log recording.
Copy and paste the entire log either to Hastebin or Pastebin
Save the log, and copy and paste the link into the thread with a brief description of the error.

Hi. I just installed this rom (clean flash) and adaway can't access root. How do i fix it? Other apps can use root fine
Edit: nevermind, i accidentally denied root access and i didn't notice. Works now
The update broke pretty much every application I had.
Open GApps don't work. The playmarket is not working. Camera does not work. GCam doesn't work ... Only SMS, Dialer, Browser, some messengers and forums work. Root flew. Payment doesn't work. In general, everything is bad.
Change: I stitched from scratch, everything is fine.
How do i increase the speaker volume? In xiaomi eu i had to edit the "mixer_path" file and reboot to do so, but i searched it in this rom with solid explorer and it didn't find anything. I need it cause the actual volume to me it's not high enough! @enweazudaniel

Anyone knows how to change vibration intensity for soft keys? I was used to the miui strong vibration when i use soft keys, this is too weak for me! And there's no settings to change that! Already checked in every setting

If there's no setting in the Settings app there's no other way. You'll have to keep the kernel manager so the setting remain permanent + plus the kernel itself should support vibration control.
There's a bug which i can't record to report, since it causes black screen. I have the lockscreen disabled until 1 minute of inactivity (i don't know if it's relevant), and if i set the alarm to go on after a night's sleep, when the alarm rings the screen doesn't turn on, and if i turn it on manually the screen remains black, and i can't disable it, nor i can disable alarm, and i need to force reboot to stop it
I don't have any energy saving on, it's all set to performance, and i even disabled battery optimization for EVERY app

Never experienced such I use alarm everyday... you don't have to set to performance. state clearly the build version you're on, are you using any mod, which gapps are you using, custom kernel etc.
From your previous comments it seems you've tried to do alot of things.
I can only suggest you clean flash to be avoid things like this from happening

I'm on latest 8.6.7, gapps, no custom kernel and no mods, clean flashed just some days ago, i just edited build.prop to disable boot animation and a couple of other things and increased volume by editing mixer paths file, rooted with magisk. I always put roms to performance mode, so that i'll have the best performance. I didn't make any other system level change.
EDIT: other root optimizations i used was adaway and gps fix to use italian servers for gps
I only added these lines to build prop:
ro.media.enc.jpeg.quality=100
ro.media.dec.jpeg.memcap=8000000
ro.media.enc.hprof.vid.bps=8000000
ro.camcorder.videoModes=true
ro.media.enc.hprof.vid.fps=65
ro.media.panorama.defres=10800x2442
ro.media.panorama.frameres=3264x1840
debug.sf.nobootanimation=1
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=180
Clean flashed rom by flashing by fastbopt mode all china roms from first to last and then only latest global, then flashed through twrp, in this order, rom, gapps and magisk
All the other changes i made was just from the normal settings app
Changed launcher to nova if that's relevant

This can be because of the Nova launcher - switch to stock one and check. Also it can be the infamous black screen bug - if you have Double tap to wake the display enabled disable it and check again.
Actually i force stopped and cleared data with titanium backup and seems to be working now. Or at least, today worked

Clean flashed. No 3rd party kernel. I am experiencing charging issues.
Does the "Smart Charging" feature of the ROM doesn't work?
Even if I disable it, will it work?
Clean flashed.
Every-time I restart my phone, it gets stuck on "Phone is starting" screen hours. Works only after 5-6 restart attempts. I think there is some issue with launcher.

I'm sorry but we as humans have a tendency to talk about other things. No one is stopping you from talking about rom and you'd get the help you need. It's as simple as that. You could be respectful and get help.

One question, can I sideload Magisk or is it necessary to patch boot.img?

Sideload magisk should work (adb sideload magisk*.apk - remember to press volume down and power button when it gets stuck at 0% because it will show a package verification prompt) but patching boot.img is best option
1) The search bar in Settings never works.
2) There are too many ways to put to sleep ( double tap on status bar/ anywhere on the lock screen) but not a single double tap to wake method is presented.
3) There some stuttering and bugs but I guess this is on A12 as I also encounter with these on different roms. Not because of this rom.
Other than that this rom is at 90% of working capability. ( Also no 90Hz yet)

Search bar works for searchable items, soke custom prefs don't come in search that I know.
2. should work in official, you are using experimental
3. device only supports 60 and 120, so ....
Does the pen work?
Edit: sorry, found the info by myself now, it doesn't work.

2. The a critical problem where I can't move app in App Drawer to homescreen and favorite tray

Number 2 is just a launcher problem. If you change launcher problem is solved
nice rom, I really like it, thousand times better than miui. excited for the upcoming bugs and fixes.
d2tw is working. some ui performance bugs I guess.
where can I get firmware and which firmware should I download? my device is running on miui 13 global and Android 11.
What's the difference between this and a GSI?

This is device specific so it has working auto brightness and the cover actually puts the device to sleep. A gsi is just a generic image so has no device fixes
I cant seem to change my timezone. it always gets back to default.
Thank you very much.
I'm wondering about the possibility of supporting the pen, is this something that will never be possible on aosp?
If it only takes time, I can wait
Hi friend, I tested this rom, so smooth, better than MIUI.
But can not connect to xiaomi keyboard case. Is issue like the pen?
Thank mate.
Nice work Guys
Who do I need, to get in Contact with.
For making a Danish Translation option on Crowdin?
I have the time for translating it.
Thank you so much!
You guys are lifesavers. I almost went near selling the device and using the money to buy something useful. I love the pen but I hate MIUI more. Thank You again for all that you do. <3
Is there any difference between the boot.img and vendor_boot.img in the recovery folder and what can be extracted from the payload.bin file? Probably not.
We're still relying on the MIUI recovery? Yep.

I prefer to use TWRP.

but I am curious. will test the ROM
@Hasin Abrar Haque
I am on CRDROID ROM. Can I just install with DATA FORMAT or do I have to go through the official ROM from xiaoimi?
You can install by data format

Recommended ofox latest stable. And use your region latest fw
Hey all.
off the bat,Very good ROM,Almsot everything works,but there are a few bugs:
1.some toggles don't remember their states,and appear off(or actually may be off),like smart pixels and bluetooth tethering(in BL tethering it works fine,but when you leave the menu and come back it appears off)
2.smart pixles don't work,even when you try to activate it by power saving mode
3.in initial setup the app restoring process stopped,although apps were installed,their data were not(
4.google photos didn't recognize the phone as a pixel,a restart fixed this though
5.the phone doesn't seem to like to revert to 60hz when left alone,the phone does it,but quite rarely
if these little bugs get squashed we might have the best ROM for our F3 on our hands.
can't say for battery life,but so far performance seems quite alright.
also i'd like to request a feature:slide on status bar to change
I clean-flashed it twice, and updated the firmware before and after. I keep getting notifications that the Permission Controller has stopped.
Here's a snippet from logcat:
Code:
java.lang.SecurityException: Non-System UID cannot revoke system fixed permission android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION for package com.google.android.setupwizard
But I can take care of that manually.

Another issue that I've encountered is not being able to debug apps from Android Studio.
Code:
Not starting debugger since process cannot load the jdwp agent.

Hi Hasin Abrar Haque,
I Tried you rom today, it looks great and is getting better with every release,
i am a fan of SMART CHARGE and being able to adjust the charge percentage from 65% to 100%, is a nice touch that i look for in a more polished roms,
thank you for your hard work and i look forward to the next Droid rom,
Hi dev,
I've been using this ROM for a couple of hours and noticed a couple of bugs,
- Usb audio is not working
- NFC crashes when using payments
- Speaker has too much gain and clips
Other than that, great rom!
Nice ROM, thanks dev. If I can request: arrow keys on keyboard to move cursor, would be great.
