Question Indian firmware with European Z FOLD 4 (SM-F936B) - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

I just saw online that India Market got the new update (F936BXXU1AVIH) with September security patch.
So my question is, as i have an european model with the same model number (F936B), what is the risk if i flash this firmware ? As i know that it's not gonna change my 4G/5G bands anyway, so i'm guessing maybe an OTA issue after flashing this firmware (like not receiving them as i don't live in India).
Sorry if it's a stupid question :-/

No risk, CSC HOME and all good. I do it.

Ok, thanks for your reply
And what about future OTA updates ? Will it still be working ?

Yes.

Yesterday I installed the Indian version on my European version Fold 4, there is no problem except that it does not pass the Safetypass and I cannot make contactless payments.
No Root, no OEM unloock, just ODIN upgrade (firm from Sammobile).

I confirm that i can no longer make contactless payments as well, but i never used it anyway so not a big deal for me... i hope that there will be no others bad compatibilities like this one.
Will update on a newer European firmware later or just flash the AVIH European firmware when it'll be released

I'm guessing that it's caused by the software itself and not caused by CSC. Maybe in India, Google Pay is not used, i don't know...

It's very strange that the India version does not pass Safetynet's CTS checks. I also used the Home_CSC, I had never had a similar problem. I will wait to try with another region when it comes out.

Same here....Some week ago I bought a Z Fold 4 with EUX CSC and immediately changed CSC to INS using SamFW ver 2.1, Wallet worked like a charm until latest security update installed some days ago...Now, reverting CSC to EUX, does not solve the problem...

Stock Firmware or not?

Hey there,
I have got the S9 with an Austrian Provider Firmware. Although the device is unlocked for any Carrier, it seems to me that my Provider is getting out Firmware Updates very slow.
So I have been thinking about flashing my device to an open Firmware to receive Firmware Updates faster. Will I get any disadvantages, eg. no VoLTE or anything else?
What do you mean with "open Firmware"?
I guess, flash an other ROM?
If you put a custom ROM on the device, you will NOT receive any ROM Updates from Samsung - because it's customized.
Some ROMs has a updater, to receive updates if there is some available of the "provider of the ROM".
Some ROMs work well, others has still some bugs, depends on the ROM (see Buglist at every thread).
But you can customize it by yourself! increase batterylifetime, design, get rid of the bloatware,....
First you have to install a custom recovery, with this you loose warranty, and KNOX.
Every other function depends on the ROM.
But i bought my S9 from Amazon and still receive no updates.... (no branding of 3 in Austria).

Yes, I want to Flash to a non-Provider locked ROM.
Well, there has to be International ROMs - like when you purchase the S9 directly via the Samsung Website with no Provider involved.
Is there a way to flash those kind of ROMs?

Ikr, the phone isn't officially available in my country but honestly I don't want to brick my phone, I'll firt do a hard reset and see if there is any update, if not it means the update is probably on its way, maybe I'll try to flash a firmware later as a last solution.
Thank you anyway

No Need To Flash Other Firmware..If Your Software is for vietnam then i would suggest you to stick with your own software...changing firmware wont fix your problem either you will face issues due to security policy on Android pie...wait for update

SM-G986B is Multi CSC device. Since Switzerland and Italy are in the same region both CSC's should be pre-installed on the device.
Try this - Go to "Settings" then "About phone". Write down your IMEI Number. Open dialer and enter *#272*IMEInumber# (In the thread replace IMEInumber with your actual IMEI Number). Press dial, you should see a screen with the list of available CSC codes for your device. Select the CSC that you want and tap the Install option.

My current csc is this:SAOMC_SM-G986B_OXM_SWC_QQ_0025

The Samkey method would only work if the security patch on your phone hasn't been updated past July 2020. Otherwise you will get an "unsupported BIT" error.

In this case you're stuck (like myself) with whatever csc you currently have unless you root your device. I haven't rooted any of my samsung phones (my primary handsets) since my S3 days as I had no need to. So I'm not familiar with the process for sammy devices.

Yes, you'll have to follow 2 different tutorials if you have a Non-Samsung phone & if you have a Samsung phone, then just follow the first tutorial below & have fun.
In case of a Non-Samsung phone, make sure to install the bp.tpk app on the 4.0.7 itself, i.e. when you flash the Brazilian firmware & before upgrading from here, so you don't have to downgrade to install it.
Link to Brazilian firmware - https://drive.google.com/folderview?...IGMXFCQUzsBt7q
You need to flash this as the firmware file, instead of the one listed in CSC change OP below, use combination firmware from the tutorial.

Ok so it's because i got the LTE version ):.
You're lucky ! I'm waiting it so much.
While I could jump through these hoops no problem, it's too "Rube Goldberg" for me. I have the LTE GW2, USA, updated to the latest 5.5 release.
I got BP functionality by joining the UCSF Blood Pressure study "My BP Lab".
Don't do this just to get BP reading capability on your watch. There is some serious participation requirements, and it will interrupt your day 3 times to take your BP as scheduled, and then answer a bunch of questions on the phone companion app. However, you can then check your BP any time, so you will have the feature.
For me, the additional data I get as part of the study was more than worth it. The main point of the study is to correlate stress and BP, so there are also optional exercises that can be performed during each check in to see how they affect BP. Participation is 3 weeks from the time you sign up, the study is on-going.
is there anyone have the most new firmware for R825F???

General F936U1 Firmware Now Available

For those looking to flash their devices immediately, U1 firmware is now available via Frija and other such tools that pull from Sammy's servers. Manual Entry is required, XAA sales code.
PDA: F936U1UEU1AVGA
CSC: F936U1OYM1AVGC
Phone: F936U1UEU1AVGA
Standard MO for Samsung is to remove the Manual Entry requirement once the official launch date hits. Once that date comes, you should be able to pull it via Automatic.
I do not own this device nor will I ever so I haven't actually tried flashing. But it should work with latest Patched Odin 3.14.x
Happy flashing!

There was an update that came out a day or so ago, ending in "VHH". I can only see it for TMK and TMB. I have it installed now no issues but wondering would they usually release an incremental update for U1?

What's your definition of "incremental", and how does it differ from your definition of a "non incremental update" ?

It still has the July Security Patch and only available in certain markets from what I read. Incremental like a small patch and not a full update.

Still don't understand what the difference between "small patch" and "full update" is, in your book. Not all updates are multiple GB in size and/or bring a new UI or Android version. Both U and U1 models have always gotten "small" updates, and always will.
And I'm sure it'll roll out to the other carriers soon
Not sure what I'm doing incorrectly but using the info on OP, I'm not getting anything coming back as available. Anyone else having similar results?

You need to post a screenshot of what you have typed in, in order for us to see where the typo is
