Question Using LTE version in other countries - Google Pixel Watch

Hello.
I am living in Norway and I have the opportunity to get the Pixel watch from the UK.
Will it be restricted here so just basic functionality like notifications and health tracking will work, or can I take use of e-sim, and google pay?
Maybe there is a way to spoof it if ever it is restricted?
Thanks in advance!
Update: I got it working with help from @lxrable , all kudos to him!

Hello! I live in Sweden and i got LTE working on the Pixel Watch. I am using the carrier Telenor.
Ordered a esim from a supported carrier/country. (Vodafone De Pay as you go free esim)
Activated the eSim, and restarted my phone making sure I had connection with the supported carrier.
Launched the Pixel Watch App in my phone.
Went into the eSim/Carrier section and clicked on setting up the connection with the supported carrier.
Changed to the phone settings, and deactivated the temporary eSim and activated my primary eSim
Switched back to the Pixel Watch App, with the request to scan a QR code still active.
Scanned the QR-kod I got for smartwatch at Telenor SE

Ok. Can you elaborate what you did? And did you get LTE to work?

Hello again. I recieved my LTE Watch today.
When it come to adding E-sim to the watch it only say "set up your mobile service", but there is nothing to click after that. Seems some options should show up under the text. I talked to my provider and they said it should work.
Secondly I added my card succesfully to Google pay, but when I open Google wallet on the watch it says it's not supported in my country. Google pay on wearos should be available in Norway so can this be because of the watch not being sold in Norway?
After tinkering with the watch and the phone, I made Google Pay work by clearing data on wallet app on watch. (I did try it before, but didn't do anything then)

Has anybody been able to setup the esim in an unsupported country?
I have an esim for my Pixel watch but like others, the page to set it up in the app is blank.

Hi @hippos78 , i live in Italy too!! How did you setup the esim? I have Tim...

I was able to order an eSIM from Vodafone Germany (pay as you go, 0€).
After adding the eSIM to my phone I was able to scan the QR code of my unsupported carrier successfully.
However, my carrier requires custom APN settings, and I don't know how I can change them, so I can call, but I have no data connection.
Does anyone have any idea how I can change the APN settings on the Pixel Watch?

Good idea with the Vodafone eSim! I will do some testing when I get home in a week!

Italy here.
GPay works wonders, no way to put an eSim or another plan on it.
I have Vodafone (IT) which has a secondary plan for watches, but even after activating it, the page in the app is blank.

Did you manage to solve the APN settings problem? Can you tell me how can you get a QR or SM-DP+ code for the multipoint/ multidevice sim service, I could only get a QR for the esim which can be used in only 1 device.

Have been trying with TIM for a week. No progress yet. We can't get a QR for the multisim in Italy. Best solution so far is to use a very mobile esim on your watch (no problem with APN but different number so no calls unless watch is connected).

Ok thanks Dino, let me know if there are progress here in Italy. Ma a questo punto la vedo dura

How you guys got those pre-paid esims from other countries? Did you actually went there? I can't see any option to send those abroad... :O (sending this from Poland, while nearest "supported" countries are DE & GB)

Sim lock is related to hardware. You can't unlock by flashing software. (Like OS)

Whenever my friends use to purchase mobile which was in an offer by network locked in the middle east, they used to call for 5-10 mins in the same country before sending it to their families in another. And I used to think they were STUPID. Fortunately, their network locked mobiles do get unlocked but I couldn't believe them as I didn't understand the logic behind it. After hearing your success story, I kinda believe it but still how will it unlock technically?

Hi
I have the same issue. Bought a non working j500fn from ebay. It was not charging and not booting. Managed to fix it. However, now it appears that it is sim locked. It asks for a sim unlock code. I tried flashing different FWs, but with no result. The issue remains. Tried dialing the code you mention "*#272+IMEI*" but again nothing. By the I can not execute any codes. Even *#06# to show the IMEI does not work. I might have broken something, while trying different FWs.
Also I tried using SamsungToolPro but again couldn't get the unlock code. On the videos I watched, people presses a button "Read codes" in the SamsungToolPro and the tool showed them the unlock code. However, there is no such button for my model j500fn. I tried J300 and there is such a button and when I press it starts showing info for my phone j500fn, but when it comes to the retrival ot codes it just stops with an error that it tried to access an invalid memory or something.
Also I can not use an UK SIM, because I am in Bulgaria and don't have any active UK sim cards here with me.
Please help me. This is a rather old model so I am pretty sure there has to be a way to unlock it. Otherwise I will have to trow it away or re sell it for parts. The display is in perfect condition by the way. That way I bought it.
anyone ..... ? can't anyone help? Hereis full of android gurus, i thought this would be an easily one ...
HI
I am proud to anounce that after trying several firmware images i finally managed to unlock the sim of the phone.
The key element is to be able to run the hidden codes, which I wasn't for some reason. For example, *#06# didn't show me anything. When you get that fixed, you have to enter the hidden code *#0808# and select "DM+Modem+ADB” . After that just use the Z3X\Samsung\SamsungToolPRO - press "Unlock" and you are done.

Disable SIM card on LineageOS

Hi,
First of all, and to be clear : I know that this feature has not been implemented or abandonned on recent versions of LineageOS (at least for some phones), but as I'm beginning to do my own builds (on Lenovo Vibe K5+ - A6020A46), I wanted to understand and know what to do/add to make it work, at least on old versions of LineageOS/CyanogenMod (it seems that it worked on CM12.1, but not anymore in CM13/LOS13) ?
I don't really understand why this feature has been abandonned, but I wanted to have some advice to work on unofficial builds containing it. Thanks in advance !

For phone with 2 SIMcards, it's nice to be able to switch-off one. For example I'm from France, and when i'm travelling in Germany, I want to switch off my french (and expensive abroad) SIMcard.
Another example : on holiday or week-end I want to switch off the professional SIMcard.

Almost basic option. Why was sim manager cut from the system?!?!? Who is behind it?
Any alternative solution so as not to wait for developers? Tasker setting does not work in LoS 17.1

MIUI certainly supports that. crDroid claimed to support that too. I am also looking for solutions without changing the ROM.
Hi, little update for those interested : I managed to activate the hability by building the ROM along with this https://github.com/LineageOS/android_hardware_lineage_telephony, and following the instructions in the README.
It works starting from LOS 14.1.
It seems that my solution works only for 14.1 to 16.0 but I'm still stuck for LOS 17.1...

N976V Early Access Retail Firmware Link Here

This is the Verizon Note 10+ 5G, for those who may not know.
Once the device is released, this will be available via SamFirm and other sources, so I'm really only providing this now as early access, for anyone that wants to dig in and play around and see what they can find, etc.
I compress extra small for space and bandwidth savings. The default Windows extractor can't handle it, so you'll need a 3rd party tool like 7zip, WinRAR, etc
Happy flashing!

Without being explicit, it allows you to run an app service with a GUDP plan that would otherwise be blocked Only concern is if it will prevent 5G access.. no change to APN and LTE seems to work fine but wasn't sure...

I'm pretty sure you get that message because it is already installed but blacklisted in the vzw csc. Of course you'd need root to change that though.
***This is why i'm strongly considering getting the chinese snapdragon vs.... (im on tmobile).....but they play around with the csc and block stuff too that i have unlocked on my note 8 thanks to root.

The app store does NOT even offer Samsung Cloud for Verizon devices. Furthermore, even after downloading Samsung Cloud from alternate sources, for whatever reason, Verizon has somehow managed to block the installation of it...
If you have a workaround, I'm all ears...

verizon does block it to an extent but if u want cloud its very easy to allow it.. just change the csc to GCF.. if u dont want it to stay on gcf then u could experiment with it.. i believe once its installed then switchin back to vzw might b ok?
if u dunno how to change csc u can use *#272*IMEI#
i do not recommend u use the DEV/QA function since u mighthave a hard time changing it back from gcf (DEV/QA makes it to wherecscdoesntchange when a sim card is inserted andstays whatever itsset to) since gcf doesnt have a way to get to the csc menu

I'm pretty sure you get that message because it is already installed but blacklisted in the vzw csc. Of course you'd need root to change that though.

For the dialer code, do I actually have to input my IMEI number??
...because simply typing 'IMEI' in the T9 dialer does not do anything.
Kinda confused on this one. Would you mind clarifying?? Thanks in advance...

VoLTE & WiFi Calling Icons not showing up

Hello everyone,
Not sure (again) if this is the right subforum to post about it, feel free to move the thread if so.
Today I called my service provider (Vodafone Greece) to enable VoLTE and WiFi-Calling. Supposedly they did but I don't see the VoLTE or WiFi Calling Icons on my status bar.
Anyone has any idea why this happens? I have restarted my device as prompted to.
Also, I had some packages disabled but I enabled them again. (IMS ones since I read those are responsible for those services.) Not sure though, If any others are needed to be enabled that I may have disabled by accident.
Thank you for your time!!
For some reason VoLTE icon won't show up but I get HD calls.
No idea...

WiFi is sorta working, the icon appears from time to time.
As for VoLTE, nope... I might actually go over a store and ask them what's up.

I went over my carrier's store and they said, I got the service activated and working but the icon won't show up... Go figure...
Same here, just the icon is not showing up. They say I use VoLTE as it is shown in their logs.
It must be as usual, firmware issue.
If its an unlocked phone, those icons almost never show up, the features do work, but no icons.
I have an unlocked S20 Ultra that has been on both Verizon and T-Mobile, and it has never had those icons show up, ever. Prior to this one I had an S10+, unlocked, and those icons also never showed up...

I wonder if there is any way to modify some manifest or so, via ADB, to get those icons?
