Question Chrome address bar not hiding on scroll (Moto G200 5G) - Moto Edge X30

On my new phone (moto g200 - android 12) Chrome's address bar will not hide on scroll, as it does on my old phone (android 10). Is there a setting or flag to fix this?
P.S.: I have tried clearing data and rebooting without any success
P.P.S.: Firefox and MS Edge work properly, hiding the bar when scrolling

I realize this is a super late response, but might have an answer for you. Since you're a senior member on XDA are you using AutoInput by chance? Turning off accessibility access for AutoInput extension for Tasker fixed this for me. If not that maybe just check what else you have given accessibility access to.

Thnx
I actually solved this some time ago but forgot to update the thread. It was a Motorola built in accessibility service, called swipe to split, that was causing the problem.

Permission problem- Can't tap allow

I have got this weird problem with the Nexus 5x. When I install a new app it asks for permissions and I can't tap allow but I can tap deny. It is not a problem with the touch since I have tried in landscape and portrait mode. Everytime I have to manually go to settings and allow permission(from settings) for each app I install. I'm running marshmallow with June security patch. Very irritating. Any fix?
For me (Nexus 5) it started right after I installed android 6.0 June patch. For the moment can't find any workarounds only manually opening app settings and allowing permission

do you use any app that works via overlays? for example an app that dyes your screen in the evening/at night?
such an app, to my knowledge, would trigger a security feature of android that would prevent the user from accepting, say, installation confirmation.

Nope. I haven't used any app like that on this devwce till now. (Eg.screen filter)
EDIT: Thanks for your keyword (screen overlay)!. It is a problem called 'screen overlay' which is a common issue in marshmallow. These links gave me the solution.

I am having this same problem since latest update, its really annoying i can hit deny but not allow! How do we fix this crap! My stock phone isnt working right whats up with that?
Other kinds of overlay can be the "chat bubbles" from Facebook Messenger or Flynx tabs.

Just checked the Google Nexus forum and they say that there's an app called "File Manager" from Cheetah Mobile that it's causing this issue. Check if this is what's happening to you too and remove that app.

For me it's Lux, which also uses overlays. I have to pause it every time for things like this.
I had the same problem yesterday. As far as I know, I don't use any app that can cause the "screen overlay" problem, anyway it seems that clearing cache and dalvik solved the problem for me, at least for now..
EDIT: never mind, problem reappeared. I had to switch off all the apps in the "draw on other apps" menu..
EDIT 2: found the culprit: gravity screen.
Mine is velis auto brightness i believe
In my case it was the File Manager extension. Go to settings -> search for "draw over other apps" -> disable it for File Manager.
Potentially it is any app the draws over app. Just go into app permissions and write down every non google app that asks for draw over other app permission. Then disable all of them to see if the problem goes away. Then reenable one by one until the problem comes back.
In MTC19Z they no longer have the Allow permission that can't be tapped. Instead they have a warning that it won't continue until you disable the app that is drawing over screen (but they don't tell you which app that is). It is slightly less confusing, but equally annoying to have to figure out which app that is, then to turn off the offending app each time, then re-enable it.
Facebook Messenger bubbles are overlay
I don't think it's overlay
If it was an overlay it would be over the whole screen, but I can actually press the "Deny" button.
Anyway I disabled Twilight, the only app I have with overlay - no results
BTW, if your Nexus rolled off of it's 18 months support - it's time to install a custom ROM before the planned obsolescence machine kicked in

What you describe is exactly the behavior with overlay after june update. I don't think it is the overlay per se, but a bug in the warning mechanism blocking your button.
In july update they changed to a promot that links you to the overlay permission page.
i am also having the same problem..using honor 8...can't click on allow permission..

[Q] Gesture apps - Why home gesture dont work?

Hi to all!
I'm experiencing a really strange thing when try to set an HOME gesture with some of most famous apps for that purpose, like ALL IN ONE GESTURES, EDGE GESTURES and similar.
If I set recent apps and back gesture, they work in every way I set them...but if I try to set ANY KIND of gesture for returning to home... nothing happens.
The command work properly (I feel the haptic vibration, or alinz, that starts when a command is performed), but the gesture won't work in the end...
Anyone noticed that too? Maybe there's something I missed for make them work?
I use swipe up from bottom border and it works for me. I use aio.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
I didn't find the cause yet but it is also happening to me. If I reboot the phone the home gesture starts to work fine, it only breaks if I re-enabled the nav bar + disable immersive mode using their quick tiles provided by joneplustools and systemuituner. The easiest solution is to reboot the phone.
Well but are you rooted?
Because I can disable navbar but on home screen it'll be always there, so I can't use bottom gestures, only edge...

Right now I'm rooted, yes.
Without root the navbar always shows if you swipe from the bottom. You could try a 0px navbar by I think it doesn't work in OOS at the moment.

I already have the 0pt navbar and used successfully on S8 but with OnePlus it just don't works, I suppose because the navbar is named "drawable" in OnePlus internals while in APK it's "navbar", at least I've read it on multiple sources...

Yeah that must be the reason.
If you don't want to root right now your solution is to use a gesture app like edge gestures or swipe navigation because you can use gestures from the right/left edge so you activate the navbar less often.
It's not ideal but is has one advantage; for example when I want to close a game using the back button, the gesture sometimes is not recognized and I have to activate the navbar using the quick setting and that sometimes breaks the home gesture like we discussed yesterday so I have to reboot the phone sometimes. You only have to swipe from the bottom and it's all fine.

Yeah...but the fact that navbar is permanent in home screen no matter if you choose to hide it or not is really disappointing...

According to my experience this kind of problem is most likely caused by a third party app, possibly an xposed module or some half baked apk. Privately exchange a list of your installed apps, compare and concentrate on the more dubious apps you have in common and you may find your culprit there.

Well I don't have any X module since I'm not rooted, apps installed I don't know but I doubt it because are the same apps that was in S8 before, so I don't think that an app can interfere with the 0pt navbar functions...

Yeah that's the main gripe. I suppose you are concerned about burn-in.
I don't know if stock OOS Oreo will fix that. Maybe some Dev can mod the navbar file as I was done with the old filetype as in the Galaxy S8.
I also can tell you that on LiquidRemix 8.0 ( it's on a Telegram group as is in testing stage ) you could hide the navbar completely without root but I understand that you don't want to change the rom and right now is has bugs so is better to stay in Oxygen.
Right now I'm using stock OOS 4.7.4 with root and to update is super easy, just download and flash the full zip, flash your kernel + magisk/superSu after and it's done.
I don't know if you care about Android Pay...

I can tell you that on a fresh installed OOS 4.7.4 without third party apps it doesn't work. The problem is that on Oxygen the navbar has another name in system so that mod doesn't work.
No I don't care about it because there's no need for it now, at least for me.
I've always rooted phones, no problems with that, it's just that I don't feel the need to do it with 5T since is nearly stock and good to run stock "as is"...

eu 8.12.13 - Lockscreen notifications

9.1.3 seems to pretty flawless so far. But there is one issue. Most apps don't get lock-screen notifications. Does anybody else have this issue too?
You can test this with the open source app (no ads) Radiodroid2. It is not possible to get a lock-screen notification for that app, despite tweaking all kind of settings. But it works fine on Nokia, Motorola, Nexus, Pixel devices for example.
---
Just to make sure this is not a config issue ... I wiped my device and reinstalled everything:
- Reset to China beta 8.12.27
- Flashed TWRP
- Wiped data, dalvik, and cache
- Flashed eu 9.1.3
- Flashed Magisk
check advanced setting in lock screen settings for on lock screen setting and notification settings per app like screenshot.

Thank you. I actually had tried that, but it only works for some applications (the minority unfortunately).
Could you please try the app RadioDroid 2?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.programmierecke.radiodroid2&hl=en_US
(It is an open source radio app without ads ....)
I should be able to pause music on the lockscreen (like on all the other phones before), but I am not able to figure it out.
I hope you can do it.
Youre right. You have to go to the app's notification settings, then disable and again enable "Show notifications"... Every Time when you start the app..

Alternative to hide navbar in Android 11 (without root)?

Does anyone have found a way to hide navbar in Android 11 without root? overscan or fullscreen ADB command still unusable un beta 3 :crying:
Few days ago Google confirmed that it was not a bug not able to use overscan (Status: Won’t Fix (Intended Behavior))
But there are not any comments on innmersive mode... Still in latest public Android 11 version youn can't set innmersive mode with adb command (adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=*), it just keep reseting the settings to inmerssive.none=*
Do we have then to finally root or install custom 11 ROM to be able to hide the navbar?

This is ridiculous. why remove something that works fine. I have been using adb to set immersive more or hid the nav bar in certain apps for about 5 years. Why change it now?

I know... Maybe Google is forcing developers to properly adjust apps to fit screen size and to the use of the gesture bar.
This immersive app is working, but I don't like to much the behavior: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=immersive.duna.com.immersivemode

Thank you for the link, but I see what you mean about the behaviour. It seems it is using the overlay permission to redraw the app over the top without the nav bar. Clunky, but it works.

According to the developer, he was forced to make a new Google account. Since he couldn't carry over purchase details for the old app he made a new version of it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.duna.immersive

Did you check out what the dev said on Google Play regarding that? If not, you should. The answer is there.
P. S. Quoting me won't help as a) I'm not the dev, and b) I don't use the app.

Question Mysterious tile in quick settings

Guys.. whats that systemUIGX tile? I dont know how it got there nor what app it belongs to.
That is weird! Just checked mine and don't see such a tile...
yea. it didnt have it either days ago.
I've confirmed that a tile like that is not in my list of enabled or disabled quick tiles.
Is there a way to find out, where each quick tile stems from?

Well, if they don't come from the stock Android (i.e. they come from an app you have installed), if you have the tile disabled, it should say where it comes from. Screenshot of an example in a sec.
Edit: In the below screenshot, "CleanSlate Configuration" was scrolling across all of these tiles. I have other third-party tiles that show similar information but with the other apps' particular names. These are all disabled tiles. I don't know if the scrolling information shows when they're enabled at all - or maybe they only show when you're in edit mode but still show when they're enabled.

Are you stock or are you on a custom ROM?
Is it the wireless debugging tile in Quick settings developer tiles found within Developer Options?
I've seen that in the past (Pixel 2/3?) when rooted and using magisk modules... it's been a few years though. just magisk probably... just hide it for now
@xflowy, a screenshot of what Magisk Modules you're using?
I noticed this on Reddit. I suspect that @xflowy started that thread.

It really doesn't shed any light on the situation to me as it's above my head. It's the only XDA post that came up in my search and is in the Pixel 2 forum.
Weird, I had the exact same QS tile appear on my device yesterday, toggling on/off seems to reload the whole system UI, but I'm unsure what it does otherwise (or how it appeared). I was doing a factory reset anyway, so it didn't stick around for long
