Question Will Google Pay work on the Pixel Watch if the phone it's attached to is rooted? - Google Pixel Watch

Title.
My Pixel Watch is supposed to be delivered tomorrow and I was thinking about this today. I'm running stock rooted Android 13 QPR2 on my Pixel 6 Pro. My phone passes SafetyNet attestation according to YASNAC (Basic Integrity: Pass, CTS profile match: Pass, Evaluation Type: Basic) but Google Pay doesn't work on the phone. Just wondering if it's possible for Pay to work on the Watch if it's attached to this phone.

I know Wallet opens just fine and brings my card up. Have not yet tried in the store to see if it actually works. I do have first hand knowledge withe the 6 Po and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. For a while I couldn't pass safetynet on my phone but was still able to use Gpay on my watch. That's promising and at least leads me to hope that it would.
When you say Google Pay doesn't work on your phone do you mean everything works until you get to the point where you pay. or that gpay tells you that you can't use it? Just curious as I have it set up on my 7 Pro, just haven't had the chance to use it yet.

It all seems like it should work fine on my phone, but it always fails when I try to pay in a store with it..

yes, I am using both and they work. As long as you use the safetynet fix magisk module to hide magisk detection

Awesome. Thanks for the info. I am using that module, so hopefully I'm good to go.

Are you referring to the kdragon module? I can confirm I was able to add my card to the watch but it declined at the register. Would love to get this working if that's the right module.

How to get mock GPS and pogo working on the Pixel XL?

As the title states, I want to be able to play Pokemon Go and use an app to spoof GPS. I do not care about Android Pay. I am really looking for advice on what to do, not how to do it. I am happy to do the legwork of figuring out how to install whatever is recommended.
I know I'm new here, so in an effort to show I've at least tried before creating a thread, here is what I've done so far:
- I tried various methods on a Verizon Samsung S4, but ultimately failed because the bootloader is locked. I learned a lot though, which was great (including never to buy phones from Verizon).
- I tried everything I could find on a Galaxy Tab S2. I got TWRP installed and tried every combination of SuperSU, suhide, rootswitch, Magisk, xposed, etc. Everything installed but pogo failed to start. I believe I need a different Kernel (although I can't remember specifically why), and there are not many options for that device.
- I got TWRP RC1 installed on my Pixel XL (purchased from Google, not Verizon), and successfully got dual boot working with a stock image in one slot, and rooted the other slot. I previously thought I needed to wait for Xposed to be released for Nougat, but I now think that may not be the case.
So, if my goal is strictly to manipulate GPS on my Pixel and still have pogo run, what is the path of least resistance? If I want to play without spoofing I can just boot my stock image.
This post by @Fenny (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70201392&postcount=106) says: "Really want to cheat at Pokemon go? Just patch the location service to always report that mock locations are off."
Could anyone elaborate on that? As I mentioned I don't care about Android Pay (although that would be a nice benefit). Is there perhaps a kernel for the pixel that will report mock locations as off, and still let pogo run? I am not familiar with how to patch the location service otherwise. I'd be willing to learn but I expect it is not a good starting place a for a newbie.
I also realize in the thread I linked above other people have reported they got pogo to run on a rooted Pixel using the patched files in that thread combined with suhide and rootswitch. If I do that, can I mock GPS locations without xposed? Or will I just be able to run pogo without spoofing?
Thanks for reading!
I've been able to spoof my gps and use a joystick app with pogo for a few months with just using Magisk and Magisk hide.. But now with the new update to pogo it will not allow you to use mock locations.. The pogo app loads but nothing shows on the maps(pokestops, Pokemon) and it says "failed to detect Location". Even with pogo running it says that and as soon as you stop the mock location app from spoofing it goes back to normal. Until someone makes an app that hides mock locations from pogo you won't be able too spoof.. I've even tried xposeds hide mock location module and it doesn't work as of now.
Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk
So this is a definite no chance as soon as you take the march update
and if you dont you get stuck dealing with the pixel draining your data by redownloading the update over and over again forcing you to installit and loose the ability to spoof gps ffs

Using galaxy watch with nob Samsung phone

I am planning to buy a new phone, pocophone f1 is an option, but I don't know if the galaxy watch will work properly with it. Any one has experience with pairing it to pocophone or other non Samsung phones? Thanks.
Mine is paired to an Honor 8 Pro. It paired right out of the box with no problems. Works much better than my old Moto 360 2nd Gen. I don't have Samsung Pay but I don't care about that.

I used my former S3 with a former Honor 8 and had no problem with notifications or downloading apps from Galaxy store. I wouldn't expect problems with the Galaxy.
Has anyone had their watch receive calls and your phone never rings and then when you turn your watch off phone calls go right to voicemail?

If phone is not rooted, bootloader locked, and so play store device status is certified :
You can download and install galaxy gear app, from which you'll be able to pair and manage the galaxy watch.
It's what i done on my oneplus 5 : unrooted, re-locked. Everything works. As a non samsung phone owner, the only things that do not are :
- samsung pay
- integrated tizen email app
Or you can download the apk from apkmirror and use it with root. That's what I'm doing now. Samsung pay may or may not work, I don't use it so I don't know.
You need Samsung accessory service, the galaxy gear plugin and the galaxy wearble app. Mine works flawlessly with a custom ROM with xposed, rooted.

Can you download them without rooting, or must I root the phone?
You can do it without root but you need to enable the install from unknown sources option
they have a modded Samsung store to stop that root check they have magisk mods to hide root
I can confirm that this works on non-samsung devices. I get everything pushed to my watch from my phone as long as I have the notification for the app enabled at the time. The only issues I see with the Samsung Pay is if you don't have the app installed on your phone due to the fact that it uses NFC to make the transaction now so as long as your phone supports NFC you can use Samsung Pay as well. If not then you can use the ported version of Google Pay, but I wouldn't personally recommended due to the fact that it is ran by a third-party developer. As for root, I have not seen an issue or been lock out of anything in the watch due to being rooted so I can't confirm nor deny if it is fully root functional.
Rooted pixel 2 xl and everything works as it should.

Heads-up Google Pay not working on latest versions of Google Play Services

I'm on Google Pixel XL Unlocked and Rooted with Magisk 18.1 and on March 2019 security update. Thought I'd save others some possible frustration and embarrassment like I suffered this morning at the grocery store (with my wallet in the car)....it appears that the most recent updates to Google Play Services (I am on 15.0.0, but others are saying the issue occurs on 14.8.49 and higher)....circumvent MagiskHide and prevent Google Pay from working for payment in stores. Really strange in that SafetyNet still appears to pass. Hopefully an update to Magisk/MagiskHide will be incoming soon. You can track the progress and others' experiences at this thread within the Magisk forums....also there is a workaround posted within that thread that many have reported success with...it involves downgrading Google Play services....

Google Pay ... Something's Not Right

So I've been using Google Pay for some time now and decided to go back to the latest Q beta... Go to setup Google Pay and get this message when it states my bank (Chase) is verifying my info... Something's Not Right? Since when?

It cant connect to bank or you have same problem as some of beta users. Safetynet seems broken somehow. Safetynet check says its green but non of banking apps or google pay will work. Simple settings - apps - system apps - google play services - clear data will work. At least it worked for me

[SHARED] Link to LineageOS 20 for kane - Motorola One Vision

Link to easily find LineageOS 20 rom for Motorola One Vision:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...r-the-moto-one-action-one-vision-p50.4514847/
Thanks for the link! (I didn't know about this..)
Installed yesterday morning and looks everything ok..
I had an issue with bluetooth in the previous version, so I was using PIXELEXP.
(Which was working fine, but a bit too much google.. :S )
I'm really happy that this is an offical version and we will get the updates as well.
Another 1-2 years lifetime for the phone.. (;
I flashed this with Lineage 19, then reflashed it with 20, and have installed two OTA upgrades to 20. It works well. VoLTE works on T-mobile and it's MVNOs. So far, I haven't gotten Wifi calling working though.
Installed.
VoLTE Orange PL, WifiCalling and other things work.
Google Pay does not work, there is no Netflix in the shop, Disney displays errors that it can not play, HBO tries to play spin, spin and nothing.
I suspect it needs Magisk.
Do you have any thread on how to install correctly on our phone and how to configure?
I was able to set a new fingerprint on the Motorola Edge using Magisk. Netflix has appeared in the Play shop and is working. I also connected my credit card to GooglePay without any problems. However, HBO, Disney, Showtime do not play video, giving an error. Surprisingly, Amazon Prime starts the video but does not show the controls on the screen.

You are clever to have partially figured it out. Unfortunately, I only use payment, I activated it like you. When you click on the author's link, he also offers an unofficial version, which could pass the safety net better, maybe.

I've already dealt with VOD services. I had to upload a module suitable for Magisk DRM.
