If I use another charger with lower watt I don't face this problem. So must be faulty wall charger or cable ( type c - type c)

Yeah, basically everyone on the internet facing this issue blames the charger and cable so that must be it. It also happens on other models not just Samsung.

What's the solution to this ?

I am afraid it will damage my phone's battery in the feature is this true? If it's a bad charger

Also while charging the fingerprint sensor is not that fast as it is when you don't charge and I have to enter it like 3-4 times..

Well the only thing is to try different chargers and see which one is best, I don't know of other solutions. You could also try disabling "Fast charging" in the "More battery settings" menu and see if that helps.

If I'm not mistaken, Samsung phones' screen sensitivity drops when plugged in charger. And this has been the case since Samsung Galaxy S 1.

What's the point of fast charging then?

I am also facing similar issue. Ghost touch on charging and fingerprint not working correctly.
It happens with fast charging and device becomes warm.

I have Exynos version. I am using Samsung's original 25W charger and cable which I got with Samsung Galaxy F62 mobile.

Anyone have a fix to this annoying problem?
Not worth buying new charger 20€ .....

You cannot charge by computer USB port as the current is too low (0.5A).. the proper chargers output is 2.0A!!
At night I use a 1A Samsung phone charger and it works too for overnight.
I too have noticed that when plugged into PC no charge
you'll get a charge, but it'll be a trickle. it won't show the charging icon, but it'll charge as long as you don't use it. i think it's about 8hrs or more to completely charge via 500mA usb. i believe a custom kernel could be tweaked to squeeze 900mA out of usb 2.0.

actually, it's incorrect. you can charge from a computer as i've stated. all samsung tablets will it's just gonna take alll day to do so.
just about every tablet and phone will charge off of a computer usb por, but it's just gonna take a loooooonnnngg time. great when you're in a pinch and need a bit of juice.

Are you talking about using the device as its charging, or simply moving it (with screen off) while its connected to the charger? If charging is interrupted just by slight movement, I would suspect a loose MicroUSB port, or a damaged charger or cord. Try a different charger (any MicroUSB charge should work). And if the problem persists, return the tablet. A loose port is not easily fixable, and is going to only get worse.
Hmm I think it's not an issue, you really have a slow charge when you use try it using your pc. Try a real charger, it'll charge fast :highfive:

I understand how to charge the device. It has been a loose port. All 3 i have had have had this problem, to varying degrees.

either you've got the worst of luck or you're stronger than you think and jamming that mofo in the microusb port.
i've only had one and the microusb port is fine on mine. i do have a single cable that won't fit properly in any device and will fall out just by looking at it. one thing i've noticed about all the samsung musb cables are that they're short nibbed. do you have a case or something that may be interfering around the musb port and not allowing it to "click" in?

They may have all come from the same defective batch. I've seen cases where a person got multiple devices (other Android devices) with the same defect. Seems improbable, but apparently possible.

The cable what came with the Note 8? If so, that does not sound normal to me. Mine fits snugly and securely.

Your OP was pretty brief, and did not state the charge method. So that person was just throwing out a possible case/solution based on the information provided; given it was based on an incorrect assumption.

Yep, they have all done it, it mainly happens when i do something like lay down while charging the device. Go and try moving the plug slighlty and ull see it wont be charging. I had my OG note do the same thing, but that was after years. While the plug goes in deep, there is too much play with the port. Ive read others have too, and this is three straight so no fluke. Yes, the cable supplied, or any of the dozens i have for my devices.

Its normally fine if its laying flat(though ive plugged it in at night, only to realize in am that it was NOT in fully), but tryying to use the device in landscape while charging moves the cable too much
well, i know it's not any help but mine does work perfectly. i've held and rotated my tablet many times while on the charger (rotating make the galaxy charging app refresh without having that annoying pop up after a certain amount of refreshes - seems to be a useless program as the numbers don't match up with the charging time or what battery monitor widget says on any samsung tablet or phone i have).
maybe i'm just a lucky one?

Yeah, I just tried that and it didn't seem to affect my Note's charging.
I've had (or currently have) the HTC Evo, S2, S3, S4, and Note 8. My GF has the S3 and Note 8 and her mom has the Note 8 as well. None of our devices have any issues with the USB port. Generally speaking, problems with the USB port stem from improper use.

I just got the BrownBlack one, same thing. If i move the plug to the left, no charge. Granted, its worse with some cables, but the one i have at work i have no problem wiggling around with my N1
So this make four(4) N8.0 with the same issue. Cannot be the same batch, considering one is a newer color.

Probably thermal throttling to prevent overheating. Nothing to worry about
I do not see a performance drop, but rather a "stuttering" in touchscreen response, most visible when using a touchscreen tester app... It makes using the phone impossible with missed touches and delayed/doubled touch responses... The problem is that this issue is not exhibited every time I charge it... I cannot discern any pattern to trigger this specific issue either...
So for now, I simply unplug to use...
And we all continue to pay less in cash, but pay in other ways by being their beta testers...

If you're not using the bundled charger or one purchased from Xiaomi, then you ARE using a third-party charger.

Haha, yes, I am using a third-party charger, but my "I don't think so" was directed at the "cheap current regulation chargers".
I have never tested them as the chargers are always US electrical type A connectors (and we use type G where we live); I will dig out a converter to double check this, although I sincerely doubt it as even the much-vaunted portable Xiaomi and Aukey battery/power banks also exhibit the same issue sporadically (and we are talking DC to DC; i.e. without any cheap half wave converters or lousy capacitors)...

I'm using aukey qc2.0 charger and no touchscreen affected (I know what you mean by it)
I'm having the same issue with the cable included with the phone. is this an issue with the cable or the phone itself? the screen is very unstable and i could barely use the phone while charging.
try charging with another charger. i'm using a 3rd party qc 3.0 charger and it works fine, no hiccups when charging.

Try cleaning the charging port on the phone and see if it helps any.
With the stock charger, I have found that sometimes it doesn't want to quick charge so I have removed the cable, flipped it over and it works fine. Not sure why, but it works.
Outside of what I've mentioned, a new cable and/or charger may be in order.

Fast Charging Support

Hi all,
There's no mention of Fast/Quick charging anywhere about with this phone and every review I've seen specifically mention it's not supported.
I've just plugged my phone into a Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 power bank and the below icon has appeared. Is this a quick charge icon?
It definitely seems to be charging quicker than with other chargers I've used.
Yes, that is Qualcomm quick charge icon. It supports QC 3.0.
Mine says charging fast when plugged in so its supported.
And it goes really fast. I can watch youtube and the percentage will tick tock upwards every few seconds even when being used.
It comes with QC 3.0 charger... Hello...

The charger I received with my device definitely doesn't trigger the QC icon. I'm UK based and it's an EU charger through an adaptor so that might be screwing it up.
