Question Will anyone even bother to port any custom recovery or custom rom to this phone? - T-Mobile REVVL V+ 5G

It's been a while since this page was made and nobody has ported any custom recovery or rom to this phone, and I don't know why.

I know. It's crazy seeing as how popular this phone is. I don't think they're lazy, I think they are focused on, like, flagship devices and such. Which is really the opposite of how they used to be. They used to post EVERYTHING they tinkered with and they tinkered with EVERYTHING. Now it's as if nobody cares. As if their hobby has become a chore to them. Probably there is money behind it somewhere. Capitalism gets them all sooner or later. I'm really talking out of my ass, but it wouldn't surprise me. I guess I'm just bitter about how I got so much help with a junk phone like the L38C, but nobody has time for a $200 phone. Wack

well, you can always port it yourself, or request from a devoloper and in exchange give them a donation.

You realize people out there have a life. "capitalism gets them all sooner or later" what the heck does that mean? Do you mean they want to spend their time working on things that better their life? Seems like a completely reasonable thing to do.

Of course it is. Everything is business. It does not say at the top of this site that this is for charity. I'm aware of that. I'm trying to use guilt to bait somebody into helping me. Lol. And you're ruining it.

It doesn't have to be anything. But if you find a dev, a donation of how much you think the product is worth will motivate them.

Okay, I tell you what. I'm going to try and hunt down a copy of twrp for the mt6337 SoC. If I can find it there /is/ a way to port it over to work with the revvl v+ hardware. You should be able to flash it with sp flash tool. No promises because I still have to reinstall everything and resolve this sp flash tool error in receiving. I can't flash jack until I do, which means I can't test. Anybody want to provide me with sp flash tool operation error code list? Or maybe give me a hand resolving this error? I'm so vulcan close to finishing a complete guide.

I'll let you know when I get home. I'll post again in 20 minutes. Basically, mt6833 scatter.txt got illegal file name. Then please choose a ROM. I could pick a disk image from the list of img fingers included in the stock rom, but I'm not sure which. This a/b partition is new to me. I mean, I get it, but some of the file names have changed, like boot_a and boot_b instead of image and recovery, for example. I'm trying to flash stock ROM to REVVL V+ 5g. I have the bootloader unlocked, I was rooted, but I unrooted. I have the firmware zip, a scatter file name 6833, same as the SoC... I even have payload.bin from an ota file, but failed to extract payload.bin and therefore no scatter there. I used
i have an OTA zip, stock firmware. i think my problem starts with not properly extracting scatter.txt from payload.bin. are you familiar with REVVL V+ 5g? Do you have a copy of these files? I thought I had the right ones, or maybe I'm doing something wrong. I could link you to the three different guides I tried with the same results. Without those files or knowing how to get them I'm at a standstill. If you know how to use payload dumper and SP flash and all that, I could use some assistance.

i thought you weren't supposed to solicit or spam on this site? so offering to do sruff for donations or offering donations technically is a violation of xda policy. of course, they'll probably make an exception. not to mention, if they want help, link them to your site where you can make money from marketing- oh wait. that takes away from xda making money from ads. btw, they make money from ads. anywaym yeah, it's not just feeding your family at that point. not to mention thats not what this site was supposed to be about. not what the x in xda stands for. lol

It is possible that the development community for this particular phone is not active or large enough to produce custom recoveries or ROMs. It could also be due to the phone's hardware limitations or the lack of resources and interest from developers' geometry dash lite. If you are interested in having a custom recovery or ROM for your phone, you could try reaching out to the development community and see if there is anyone who is willing to work on it. Alternatively, you could consider using a different phone model with a more active development community.

i guess the developers choose not to buy this phone? it's a cheapie so we likely can't afford to pay a dev. they don't care about us anymore. they only do it for money unless it's convenient. o can show you messages from senior members that pretty much says exactly that. porting a rom or recovery isn't all that difficult in many cases. porting a custom recovery, if all goes well, can actually be done in about 10 minutes if one knows what one is doing. however, what it looks like on paper hardly works out that way in reality. where there's only a few steps to port twrp i've run into a host of hangups and i'm now on week 3 and i've gotten nowhere. thos device is crappy, the file system is relatively new and very different from previous devices, it's not very popular, or so it would seem, and there just isnt a lot of support for it. all this will certainly change when the a13 update rolls out and people start captiring bug reports and securing the elusive ota that is the master key. sadly, i feel like this phone will get left in the dust and just skipped over. which doesn't make sense because it's getting a13. and it's new enough it could potentially see a14. which means we SHOULD be working on it. a good, cheap, solid, modern device. that seems like a prime candidate for a custom rom. but it has 2 things against it- one it's a tcl and people seem to hate mediatek and tcl. Mediatek has a lpot of good sh!t though, says me. The other is that it's a/b and there's just not a fat lot of that floating around. it's BEEN around, since like 2015 or something, but it's just now becoming a standard. there's a lot more going on for the old recovery partition devices. that'll change, surely, but by the time it does, this phone will be obsolete, i'm afraid. let's hope not.

i figured it out. all by myself, of course. don't know what i was expecting, but that's the sum of it. anyway, the trick was to bypass DA to flash with sp flash. twrp is unneccessary, unless you just want the ease of access. in which case, i'm working on porting out TWRP for the REVVL V+ 5g. Once again encountering yet more hangups. on the bright side, flashing back to stock is now possible. There is a guide in the forums. I'm not sure who wrote it. Must be one awesome guy. And handsome. Let's not forget handsome. And smart. Whoever that guy is.

I have always been interested in building roms. I just got access to this phone as a dev phone and, as long as flashing back to stock works reliably, I would be fine doing some messing around with rom building for it. If you get TWRP working that is awesome. Do you know if there is a list anywhere of device specific code?

LG KS20 on Linux ??? ( LiMo )

Hi everybody , I was on youtube when i saw that video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1etbtava-g
Any info ???
No info but it looks awesome, it seems to be really smooth, I would love to have something like that on my KS20!
I found this
http://www.limofoundation.org/
Do you think that we can flash our KS20 with this OS ?
My english is not good , so please excuse me if I made some mistakes
someone got more information about this ?! looks very interesting but i cant find much about it via google and co.
greetz
limo its a project, this video its a testdrive demonstaration.
I found our phone (LG KS20) at here
http://www.limofoundation.org/en/limo-handsets.html
LG LiMo phone
^^ I think that's our KS20 with LiMo inside
I hope that we can also have it !!
I'm trying to boot android on my KS20 but i don't find one android release which boot arf =(
If someone can try to compile a new release of android which boot on KS20 , it will be great
Sorry for my bad english :$
Android | LiMo @ LG KS20
YOHA.. would be time to get rid of that WM6.1 from my LG KS20..
But, wait, LiMo is completely another thing than Android..
And besides that, I'm also pretty sure that Linux does work on the LG KS20, there is anyhow no trace of users able to do so in the wild till now..
So this means that either Android than some LiMo adehrent version should be available around: afaik there are no traces of such images or even help to build from sources..
Is this right or do somebody of you have some links/hints?
Maybe the closest relative to this is anyhow the HTC based Android compilations found in this forum (Vougue and Phantom..), maybe starting from them somehow..
But if someone has updates.. please do some postings here!
Cheers,
tent:wq
Hi everyone
After a hole night of compilation , i've obtain 4 files
"Generated: (out/target/product/generic/android-info.txt)
Target system fs image: out/target/product/generic/obj/PACKAGING/systemimage_unopt_intermediates/system.img
Install system fs image: out/target/product/generic/system.img
Target ram disk: out/target/product/generic/ramdisk.img
Target userdata fs image: out/target/product/generic/userdata.img"
A System.img , userdata.img , ramdisk.img and a text file android-info.txt
I don't know what to do with this files ( maybe haret ??? )
if someone would help me , it'll would be really apreciate ^^
Thanks
yuuuhuuu i'll be waitin for next info and release
Any new info on this? Willing to get rid of wm as soon as possible.
Any update ?
I'm sorry if i'm boring but if we can make linux works on our device , i think it wiil be great
as i'm a newbie , i really need help so everyone who want's to work in this project i leave my msn [email protected]
thanks you

No Android release for KS20
I'm sorry guys but it will be hard to have Android on KS20.
This LGE phone is based on MSM7200 old Qualcomm chipset at 400MHz.
Qualcomm started developing Android releases on newer MSM7200A which not only has higher clock for the ARM11 application processor, but also different architecture in terms of graphic acceleration. This means there will not be any official release compatible with KS20 in the future.
Although me and other engineers, who have access to Android and Qcom drivers code, would like to port it to this device, we are struggled by the fact that we don't have any drivers from LGE, to make all other things working (primarly camera and display). So, no way we can do it for now...
Anyway, without the benefit of having Qualcomm Adreno 3D graphic accelerator on it, it will be a pain to run Android UI on KS20!

Hi, you can try to load 0.8 linux images and almost all of other initrd like angstrom etc... with earlier Htc Niki's Kernel. Unfortunately I can't login trough ssh and GPIOs detection list from Haret doesn't correspond to the ones listed in the detailed Ks20 service manual...
I'm starting a new thread and I hope to involve some people with more skill than me...
ok, let me know about that new thread and links to the material and instructions, and I'll also try to contribute.

[Q] SM-N7505 Help with Heimdall Root Ubuntu/Linux OS

Hello
I have a SIM unlocked Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo SM-N7505 here in Germany. I use Ubuntu OS and have installed Heimdall to do the root but unsure of how to repackage the data in the firmware .zip I got here
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N7505/DBT/
I extracted this but it seems that N7505XXUCNG5_N7505DBTCNG1_N7505XXUCNG2_HOME.tar.md5 is a Odin type of update.
Can someone point me to where I can find the Firmware below that I can use with Heimdall or help me convert the one I have?
UPDATE:
Read my reply below or above this one.
Firmware for GALAXY Note 3 Neo LTE SM-N7505
Model SM-N7505
Model name GALAXY Note 3 Neo LTE
Country Germany
Version Android 4.4.2
Product code DBT
PDA N7505XXUCNG5
CSC N7505DBTCNG1
Still await a helpful persons support...
I was able to Odin flash it , but I still am wanting a linux/unix way to admin my firmware or ROMs. Any help would be awsome.
Note 3 neo forum is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-neo
Did you try flashing cfautoroot with Heimdall?

I am not fully able to. Most of them will not work. I download it. I am able to hook up my phone all good ready to go. Can copy and make a PITT file of my phones drive layout. All systems go. As soon as I load the new ROM or Firmware to root the phone. I get a error that either the file is not compatable with Heimdall or I get this file is missing the Android Meta xml Heimdall needs for setting up the permissions and configurations.
It really gets me since I am pretty technical and write code i am at a loss why this file is always missing. Why fail to put a file in that is that important? Then you read on that and find 10,000 ways to write one. Alas not one are specific and if they are so easy to whip up one yourself why dont any of the 10,000 simply write one and spend their time teaching how to write hard scripts and code. Also not B*ching just really tired of the same old various types of info sprinkled with vauge and unclear steps or actual files to use as guides.
When I write a tutorial or a walkthrough its very clear. When I read most of the rooting or dealing with Heimdall and phones its like trying to locate that ring Frodo sought-after for so long.
I really appreciated that you responded. If you can maybe help me it would be great if I located a way to root my phone without a computer at all. I really think since everyone pretty much can root or unlock the damn things the phone would just have a option with a popup that you agree voids the warranty and poof its rooted...
lol
Thanks for taking time to message me!
:good:
Scott
Unfortunately, I do not use Linux so I am not sure what else to suggest other than possibly loading a temporary Windows installation onto your computer to flash cfautoroot via Odin.
Hi ScottsDesk
In the end, did you reach to root your phone from Ubuntu ? This is exactly what I want to do : when I've understood which will be the first way I'll choose to use a free'd phone, I want to walk this path with Linux. I can't understand why all the guys here being fans of free devices can even think to use Windows to gain control over their android : it is a shame (I must admit I'm a 0-skilled dev, so I can even allow myself to find strange there is so much Java therein Android ).
But ATM, I don't even know if I'll use CF-auto-root or if there exists a custom ROM that is running bug-free our device after days and days parsing this forum. The sad thing is I don't feel skilled enough to dig in the most serious solution (ChainFire's abandonned Unofficial CM12.1 for SN-M7505) to see if NFC is still really KO (ATM I have to remember some reported bugs have easy workarounds : lockscreen lag : disable Aquarell &/| wavelets effect and lowen swappiness from 130 to something around 50 (I'd try even far less, like on SSDs), and a delay in video recording sound : disable the "Google OK" thing).
I hope you'll read this
PS : it seem heimdall has what what we need (--no-reboot argument to follow what the guys say at some point to not reboot, instead remove battery).
I just gave try, just to see, but it fails and don't know what yet :
Code:
sudo heimdall print-pit --verbose
[sudo] password for me:

Hi, I didn't know that you have an archive for prototype firmware here! Good Job!
Well, the McLaren though, it seems to be quite tricky. But we will see...

Hi, I just saw this post... (I don't get email notifications although I choose to be informed immediately...)
So, this is the same for the McLaren as well? ffu conversion is not available?

ok... Still, the aim is to push it to W10M, so if you manage to get an image with W10M, even without touch, I would be interested in that image instead.
Then, maybe we find a way to get the standard touch back, perhaps with newer W10M updates (eg tricking it as a different device, thus restoring the "normal", non-3Dtouch updated files) or in the worst case, we could perhaps find a workaround with the drivers...

How To Guide OP9Pro - Repository of MSM Unbrick Tools (TMO, EU, GLO, IN)

By using these tools, you accept full responsibility for your actions. Your warranty is void should you run any of these utilities without OnePlus support present. I am not responsible for bricks, fires, nuclear war, etc.
If you modified any partition not touched by MSM, namely param and persist but there are others, you face a possibility of a hard brick. MSM will reset your "Enable OEM Unlocking" in dev settings and you might get a corrupt boot. Restore your backups before attempting. That said, If all you just tried to convert a ROM using OTA payload.bin, you should be fine.
I've noticed that there is a bunch of loose threads with MSM tools posted, and some revisions still don't have it available. I decided to put them all in 1 place.
If you don't know how to use these utilities, see https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...l-to-restore-your-device-to-oxygenos.4180837/, as the instructions are the same.

In China, even if the hardware is damaged due to flashing, it is still covered by the warranty. I wonder if it is applicable abroad?
China’s LE2120 will not exist, it requires an account to enter.
Wait for EU ver.
Does this have LE2117

No, that's the regular 9, this is the 9 Pro forum.
Thank you so much for all the work you've been doing, @craznazn
BooM... This is exciting news.... Time to get cracking
This question is for those that really know, and i apologize if this has been asked.
Now that there is MSM tool for T-Mobile, are devs getting closer about getting an MSM working for converting T-MO to international?.
Thanks in advance.

That's awesome, but maybe i want to wait for conversion until I see what google has on the next pixel. I am kinda intrigued on their SOC.
I agree with only buying samsung and oneplus, but how I wish HTC would still make phones. By far the HTC M7, M8 and M9, are the best phones ever made, they were built to last, and where way ahead of it's time.
But I am intrigued on google working with Samsung to develop their own SOC, I think is name code white chapel, I want to see what google can accomplish with that, better battery life, better integration with custom camera... I don't know i have good feeling about it.
No on the msm repack conversion, I'll post a fastboot conversion soon

I can definitely agree on the HTC phones. I had an HTC One and it was a beautiful phone, way ahead of its time in both design, aesthetic, and bang for its buck. I miss those phones, wish I still had one, at least for backup.

That is amazing! Its good to know we have this tool if we brick our devices.
This topic needs to be pinned. Now that we have MSM, the ROMs will no doubt be along swiftly. With how well Lineage works on my 6T, I can't wait to see what devs do for this device. Now the fun begins!
Da best!
Is it me or the download is extremely slow ?

Question Bootloader unlock

How can I unlock the bootloader on a realme c21y
Seriously!!!!! Have you not read he other posts that tell you how????
Please search the forums before asking repetitive questions.
The mtkclient is a workaround tool for MTK devices If you have Qualcomm then you needto wait for realme to release it.

Unisoc processor
Edit: retracted
@MrMiyamo apologies didn't realise, you learn something everyday. Speaking to XDA seems we will be having a joint c21/C21y so wilL mean that when we post a method or twrp we will need to state if possibly will be on both devices or just one or the other
Does it make sense for the C21Y to share this forum? I'd guess some of the other realme MTK models would have more in common. Some C21 stock firmware has references to RMX3061 in the file name and that model is the C20. Anyway, all you can do is post which models are known to work and which are known not to.
BTW, except for dev work and testing are there any good reasons to unlock the boot loader yet?
I had brought issue up with XDA, due to the phone not being a big market share, that the 2 different phone models to share the same forums, I had expressed concerns that people may try to flash wrong firmwares etc due to different chips etc , so we just need to be careful as to what the title of each posts are and or the information in those posts.
As for bootloader unlock. Always a good reason, testing phone limits, trying to build new roms or recovery etc

Funnily enough, when I wrote that I didn't think I need an unlocked boot loader until some stable custom rom came out, but looking at all the different sites that my phone wants to connect to outside of the Googleplex I decided a few days ago that it needs a firewall on it to restrict outbound connections if I'm ever to use it outside my own LAN. It's seems preferable to me to run an iptables based firewall e.g. AFWall+ which requires root rather than the ones that don't and rely on the tunneling interface Android provides for user-mode VPN clients. Gaining root is also useful to back up all partitions of course and it seems the way to acquire root is best done through an unlocked boot loader and magisk.
