Question Developer mode disabled - TCL 20 Pro 5G

Hi All,
I'm sorry I'm new to this so please be patient with me. I have an issue with a TCL 20 pro not allowing me to activate the Developer mode. I've tried to use the normal method of going too 'About Phone tapping the build button x7' But it does not work. I have a second TCL 20 pro with which this method does works with not problems. The only difference that I can see is the one that has the issue has been factory reset, but when i confirm the firmware they are using, they have the same band the same firmware version. I can not re-flash the firmware from the bootloader as the stock firmware file is a .tctbin file which is not recognised by the bootloader and i can not seem to find the usual .zip file used for flashing.
My questions are:
Has anyone had the same issue?
Is there a work around, ie: using the fastboot mode to enable dev mode and or the serial port.
Also is the .tctbin the correct file type for flashing the TCL 20 pro from an TS card.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards to All.

Thank you for your reply but that does not work. There is no notification ie: 'you have x presses to dev mode'. This is the issue.

FastBoot Mode

Hello XDA!
A few months ago I won an LG Optimus Me P350 and I recently discovered that no recovery mode.
I tried to follow a tutorial offered by this community and unfortunately I failed in fastboot.
I tried something with cmd and I remain "locked" .. I say that is waiting phone.
And with KDZ not know how well I did, but with 3GQCT Emergency Mode and Select Emergency calls me at a time that does not detect the phone, which is strange .. since it detects the computer ...
Probably a very old version and no firewall or KDZ file rather not be too good.
Let's try a little with KDZ, and if you fail I hope to find here a solution posted for you!
I know I can somehow manage to get rid of this problem.
I wanted to install android 7.xx (not sure what version I had) with recovery mode .. but unfortunately went into fastboot.
Thanks in advance!
Which guide did you follow? I compiled the one on XDA Wiki for Optimus Me so I know the ins and outs of flashing this phone. Can you be more specific on what problem did you face?

I am installing an older firmware i.s 10e I have also tried 20f for F400L but the new flash tool doesn't recognize my phone, I have tried different USB ports and a different PC with Windows 7 32bit still nothing.

Thank you for the response. I do not have access to recovery, only download mode works.
Update: I have tried using a general Dll to flash TOT file via flashtool but it doesn't let me error CrossDl [D855] to [F400L].
I had this and I set for 4 hours figuring out how to fix it. ( I had not accsess to the download mode first only to hard reset which didn't work and the "Fastboot mode started")
If you have access to the Download mode that's perfect, Follow this Tut:http://lgg3root.com/lg-g3-root/how-to-unrootunbrick-lg-g3/
Please make sure you download the correct TOT file for your phone.

Thank you that did work sort of, I was doing the same thing but someone in the comments referred to a modded DLL for the flash which did the job to some extent at least.
Its back to stock but stuck at McAfee activation, requires a pin which I do not have nor have ever created one, and now a Kill switch has been engaged and no more download mode. Out of the fire into the frying pan is what I feel like right now 100hours and 33mins without my G3, but who is counting.
That's sucks where did the McAfee activation came from??
Have you tried a hard reset ? or can you access the fastboot mode again ?

Nothing, no download mode or recovery. Boots up asks for language selection and then McAfee pops up of PIN. I am talking to McAfee support hopefully they can help.
Goodluck with that!
Thank you all.
Finally fixed. Just needed to be quick, the McAfee app gives you about 30 secs to do your thing then it pops up for pin. I opened up the McAfee app -> setting and changed the pin .

flash wrong firmware on lg ls980

I flash wrong firmware on lg g2 ls980. I try my hard to flas ls980 fimware but fail. Pls help me as soon as posible.
The problem you're facing right now is because you bought a refurbished phone whose build.prop was edited to represent it as D802.. your phone should still be working so first of all you need to plug in a mouse using USB OTG cable and go to settings on your phone and enable USB debugging. to do so go to software information and tap build number seven times unless it shows a pop up saying you're a developer now.. go back to settings open developer options and enable usb debugging. plug in your phone and allow permissions that pop up on your phone. Afterwards download LS980-ZV8 tot by searching around the forum. i'll put in the description later if you cant find one but its not hard to find.. you can even just google it. then using hex editor edit its build no in build.prop from LS980 to D802 or whatever LG flash tool shows your existing model is.( a google search on changing build no would help ) afterwards enter download mode and flash edited tot file.. now the phone should reboot at around 80% and it would stay in boot loop. So now you have to enter download mode again and flash LS980ZV8 tot unedited. LG flash tool should read your device build as LS980 now and the tot should flash without a hassle. your phone should now work properly but network wont work. for that you need to do a couple of more things. XDA search unlock zv8 and you will find suitable information. Follow the method with patience and confidence i faced this problem myself and remained confused for over two weeks untill i put everything together.. i hope this reply will help you.. if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Mix 2 bricked?! Flashing went wrong. Need help please.

Hey guys,
so this my problem:
I got the Mix 2 with the Chinese ROM. With the XiaoMiTool by Francesco Tescari I updated to the Global ROM V9.1.2.0 because I didn't want to wait to unlock the bootloader. This worked but I only had the choice to set China as my region. Since this was a common problem with updating the ROM without unlocking the phone I unlocked it and waited for 3 days to unlock.
Today I installed TWRP and installed the ROM xiaomi.eu_multi_MIMix2_7.11.16_v9-7.1. After this I was stuck with the Mi bootup logo. In TWRP I deleted cache, system, data. This worked EXCEPT for system. I thought updating TWRP to the newest version would help solve this issue. But since I'm new to this I didn't update it within TWRP but just installed the newer version via the commandfastboot flash recovery twrp.img. The result is that I can not get in recovery mode anymore. The only option is fastboot mode or the regular Mi logo endless boot.
What I tried so far: EDL flash method via adb/MiFlash but both don't work. The XiaoMiTool won't work too. The Mi PC Suite won't recognise the phone. When I use the edl.cmd the phone will go black for 2-3s and then return to fastboot.
I guess the problem at this point is that usb debugging is not turned on since TWRP installed the EU ROM and I could never get in it to enable the debug mode.
I couldn't find a solution to solve the boot up problem and can't seem to install/flash a new ROM at this point.
So what can I do? Do I need that special usb cable? Will the EDL points help me?
Maybe/Hopefully you can help me out.
EDIT:
When I turn on the phone it will directly go into fastboot mode. A normal start is not possible anymore?!...
EDIT 2:
I am now running the latest Global Rom this guide did it for me: en.miui. com/thread-1351514-1-1. html
Good to hear you got it up and running.

hey - how did you get mi unlock to work? im having this problem: mi unlock tool 2.3.803.10. it won't show the mi mix 2 as connected with xiaomi drivers, only with google drivers it will show as connected and then let me click unlock. however, it stops at 50% and shows error "couldnt verify device unkown error (-1)". ive logged on to i.mi.com and located the device through find device. does anyone have any pointers how i can unlock, because i want to switch to global dev rom and miui updater wont let me update through system with error "android version is different".
best, alastair
