How To Guide MiFlash 20220507 – Xiaomi Mi Flash Tool (New) - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

Mi Flash Tool is a tool by Xiaomi to flash firmware or Stock ROMs on Xiaomi devices.
The tool is simple yet powerful. The process for flashing any file is very tough but this tool made it very simple. Just connect the phone in fastboot mode and select the file and click on flash.
Clean all: Select this one before flashing to wipe everything from the device including storage system data etc.
Save user data: This can be selected when you want to keep the data untouched. But this is not recommended to use in all cases.
Clean all & lock: Clean all is the same as the above one but the lock means it will lock the bootloader again on the device.
Xiaomi frequently releases updates for the Tool with some new features. If the latest version of the tool is not compatible with the smartphone you’re flashing then try flashing it using the older version of the tool.
Keeping this in mind we have also provided links to download Mi Flash Tool (All versions).
Find MiFlash flash tool from the link given below.

How to use Mi Flash Tool
Download the Xiaomi Stock ROM or Firmware for your Xiaomi phone.
Extract the downloaded .tgz file using any extractor like WinRAR (remember the extracted location).
Power off your Xiaomi phone and then press & hold Vol down+power button to boot into fastboot mode.
Open the Mi Flash Tool on PC (search for it on the windows search bar).
Connect your phone with PC using a USB cable.
Click on the refresh button to check your device is connected or not. If it shows anything on the index it means that the device is connected.
Now click on select and locate the extracted firmware folder.
In this Tool, you will see three options below. Select clean all to wipe everything from the device, select Save user data to Save your content, or select clean all and lock to clean everything and lock the bootloader again.
After all these steps click on flash and wait for completion.
It will show the success message after flashing.
Done, this will automatically reboot your device, if not then reboot your device manually. The first bootup after flashing can take time so you don’t have to worry about it.

Nice and simply guide!
Few things to point out:
Instead of "stockfirmware.info" I recommend xiaomifirmwareupdater.com
On most Windows PCs, Windows Update auto-installs generic Android USB drivers, which should work fine.
On other PCs where the phone doesn't get detected, you can install the drivers from within Mi Flash > Driver.
Linux:
Linux already has the drivers. Mi Flash is not available on Linux, so in order to flash the Stock ROM in Fastboot Mode you'll need to run one of the .sh-script files from the ROM-folder directly, which requires SDK Platform Tools (allows you to do Fastboot and ADB commands):
Ubuntu (or other Debian-based distros): sudo apt install android-sdk-platform-tools
Arch-based distros: sudo pacman -S android-sdk-platform-tools
For a visual guide I can also recommend the YouTuber "munchy" who has covered pretty much everything in regards to Xiaomi Modding. e.g. How to revert to Stock ROM, How to flash TWRP / OrangeFox, How to update firmware, How to flash Custom ROM etc.

●●► Use FLASHTOOL to solve software problems ◄●●

.
Hello everyone ,
I'd like to remind all of you, that there is a wonderful tool you can use to solve a lot of software problems on Xperia devices.
It is called "Flashtool", it was originally developed by Bin4ry and it is maintained and developed by Androxyde.
●► Forum thread: Go visit the Thread and click the Thanks button!

●► Use: Flashtool is most commonly used to flash original Sony stock firmwares to your phone and to unlock and relock the bootloader.
A big pro is, you can flash firmwares no matter the bootloader status. PC Companion and SEUS need a locked bootloader.
A lot of users in the Q&A and General Forums are stuck with boot loops or bricked Xperias after flashing stuff to their device.
Sometimes a stock Sony firmware refuses to boot after installing something or just out of nowhere. You might also have the problem that
PC Companion and SEUS don't want to update to the newest firmware. Or maybe your phone doesn't have any signal and can't connect
to the network or Wi-Fi. Sometimes the SIM card is not recognized. Or you have to send it in to repair service and it is rooted and has an
unlocked bootloader. Or you just simply want to sell it.
Even problems with the hardware like sensors that don't work properly (cameras, rotation, gps, compass, etc.) or even problems with
the mic, screen and battery can be solved by just flashing a stock Sony firmware.
Do you want to create your own .ftf file to upload to XDA or share with your friends? Flashtool can do that as well.
You can also use it to flash just the kernel in order to root a newer firmware.
You will find those .ftf files on the xda forums for download.
So, before you panic and think about sending your phone in for repair, try to use this tool, it's a lot faster and it often solves the problem
●► How to:
After installing Flashtool, you will have to install the drivers. You can find the "drivers" folder inside the flashtool install directory.
Also try these drivers. In order to install unsigned drivers in Windows 8 and 8.1 use this guide.
You will also find a folder called "firmwares" in the flashtool install directory. Thats where you have to put the .ftf files.
Then start Flashtool.
Click the flash button and choose "Flashmode".
In the list below you will see all firmwares and kernels inside the "firmwares" folder.
Choose the one you want to flash.
Leave everything else as it is!
Click the "Flash" button in the right corner.
Now Flashtool prepares the files for flashing. A prompt will pop up telling you to power off your phone and connect
in flashmode by pressing the back button.
On newer Xperia devices you have to press the Vol-down button while connecting the USB cable.
The flashing process will start.
Do not disconnect the USB cable until its done!
When everything is done, unplug USB and power on the phone.
If you want to flash just a kernel.ftf, you will find the right procedure in the kernel thread.
●► Reminder:
You have to keep in mind, that flashing an .ftf firmware file with Flashtool will factory reset your device!
System partition, apps and settings and even the internal storage will be wiped after flashing!
(You have the option to not wipe those, but in order to get rid of all problems you should wipe everything)
And that's where the nandroid backup comes into place:
You should always have a backup of a working system. It saves you a lot of trouble and installation procedures..
After flashing the firmware you can use the backup to put all your settings back into place.
●► Last but not least:
There is another, official "Flashtool" by Sony, don't mistake it for this one!
If you have questions, ideas and experiences, post them here.
Have a nice day

[FIXED] adb sideload "timed out waiting for package"

Hi guys, i'm new in this forum, so please pardon me if i did something wrong.
i really need a help now, my asus zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) got bricked Yesterday.
this is the timeline why my zenfone 2 got bircked:
1. I rooted my phone without cwm or anything else on around 2 weeks ago
2. Yesterday, i recieved the firmware update message (auto download) and i accidentaly clicked on update now without unrooting first.
3. My phone stuck on the logo screen, loading forever (softbrick?)
4. i've tried to factory reset and wipe all the system cache via recovery mode, but it didn't wok.
5. i looked at some forum and youtube said that i can flash rom my device to unbrick my device with 2 ways : via adb and microsd.
6. using adb sound promising, so i learnt how to flash rom via adb and i downloaded the latest firmware on the official website.
7. i tried to flash rom via adb: i've put the firmware zip on adb folder and open windows command in that folder, i connected my zenfone 2 with usb and start to "apply update from adb" and type "adb sideload xxxx.zip".
8. several times later i got message: "timed out waiting for package, installation aborted".
9. i repeated step 7 and 8 for almost 5 times and the results are same
Can someone help me? I'm really frustated now cause i can't using my phone or maybe share the reference about flash rom with microsd, because i've tried it but i don't really understand how to do it
Thx. in advance for all of you
nb: i've tried to search in this forum, but i didn't find correct answer for me

FIXED!!!
FINALLY I FOUND HOW TO FIX IT IN THIS SITE http://www.asus.com/zentalk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=39487 THE PROBLEM IS PERSIST WITH MINE AND FINALLY I DIDN'T NEED TO STPCK RECOVERY! THX FOR THE REPLIES GUYS
since you know how to go into recovery mode so i'll skip that part,
use this adb tool instead https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001607611
If you have an external sdcard take it out and copy the firmware you want to side load and copy it to the external sdcard. Now name it "MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip" and reboot to fastboot and choose recovery. It should automatically flash the firmware. Move it to a folder when you are done or it will install automatically every time you reboot to recovery.

OTA with unlocked bootloader

hi everyone, i have an E6833 running on 32.4.A.0.160
i received my phone today it was at maintenance service, so i came back and installed twrp on it (no root)
after restarting i got an update message 32.4.A.1.54 from system
the quistion is: can i install this update with an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery installed?
if no can i uninstall the twrp and install the update?+(how?)
if no again, what should i do?
thx
your best bet is to make a full backup.
Move the backup to your pc.
Download the update using Flashtool 0.9.23.2
install firmware after downloading ( exclude all .TA files in the lower window)
If you are going from stock rom to this update its possible to flash without wiping user data to keep your apps / data intact.
Fast boot a Recovery like TWRP
then reboot to recovery and flash a custom kernel. like PDesires YandereCore.
reboot and enjoy.
This is basically what I did for the current update on my E6853
Hit thanks if I've helped you.

its possible flash tool is not set to look in the correct folder.
Make sure you select Flash (not fastboot)
then make sure the location is C:\Users\*your profile name*\.flashTool\firmwares
after Flashtool downloads a firmware it auto extracts the firmware files.
so you only need to select the device (after its been set to Flash mode (Flash tool will direct you)
use the arrows next device tree, and go to the bottom arrow til you get your firmware.
I've made note of the Exclude TA files to tick all of these. to remove the TA files from your flash.
Make sure too. that you are using a USB 2 port. USB 3 ports have been giving errors with the current drivers on some systems

How To Guide Different Method for Installing Poco F3 Fastboot rom

For those stuck in fastboot mode, I'm going to talk about installing fastboot rom by following a different path. I tried different methods because I was constantly getting errors with Mi flash. I can say that I found a 100% solution with the method below.
First of all, download and install the following files on your computer.
1: Minimal adb
2: Toll all in one
3: And drivers.
4: The fastboot rom you will use
------------------------------------------------
1: Extract the downloaded rom to the folder with winrar.
2: Run minimal adb. keep it open
3: Run tool all in one.
4: Connect the phone to PC in fastboot mode.
5: Tool all in one will see your phone. If it does not see it as poco, select it as generic and introduce it.
6: Choose to flash factory images
7: Choose xiaomi fastboot rom flasher
8: Select yours unzipped rom folder
9: Run flash rom.
10: Wait 5-8 minutes and finish.

Show what error you get.
There are people flashing with Mi-Flash that always gives errors, but the phone still successfully flashed and bootup.
Some errors are saying the bootloader is not locked, but the flashing process are success.
Flash fastboot ROM can be even done with just double click on the "Flash all.bat" file from the fastboot ROM. All these programs are running those scripts which is already inside fastboot ROM.

everyone's problem may be different. I've been trying to install rom for two days. I tried all fastboot roms with miflash and xiaoMitool. I failed in all. I wanted to share when I was successful in this method. Anyone who wishes can use whatever they want.

Everyone's problem may be different, so still need to see what error encountered. Some people cannot use Mi-Flash because they accidently locked bootloader. In this kind of cases, even the tool you mentioned can't help. So still need to post what error encountered.
Of course. I put alternative programs so anyone who wishes can use whatever they want.
The tool you mentioned can only be used in Windows, but it also can work on non-Xiaomi phones like OnePlus, some ROG/Asus, ZTE, Nubia etc.
There will be from time to time some people asking how to do it on Linux or macOS, so they need alternative programs.
This worked for me on my poco f3. Was having issues with mi flash. Thanks for sharing

[Solved] Bricked my Redmi Note 8 Pro - trouble using SP Flash Tool

Hey, so at the end of August 2021 I unlocked my phone and flashed the official PixelExperience repository recommended in the wiki along with the 2021-08-24 version of PE (Android 11). Lated I read that to update it I need to do a clean flash so yesterday I went to the recovery and wiped /data, /system, /cache, basically all the 3 options there were, then flashed the latest PE ZIP via ADB sideload. Clicked reboot in the recovery and boom, phone bricked, doesn't react to any key combination, only has the charing LED when connecting to a charger or to PC via USB.
So I've done a little research and found the tutorial at
with this ZIP https://mega.nz/file/A4YSEZaA#0Jk3_jH8uVtMnATciVRtWw2r_SH0NPLq4P6SrGNuwJQ - followed it, but I get stuck on the last step with a red "Download DA 100%" bar at the bottom, which after 2 minutes yields an "ERROR : STATUS_EXT_RAM_EXCEPTION (0xC0050005)" popup.
I tried doing it like 7 times, I found somewhere that this error could be caused by a driver problem and one possible solution is to reinstall the driver. I wasn't sure which driver to reinstall so I just completed the whole procedure again on my different Windows 10 laptop, and it's the same problem. What can I be doing wrong?
I was trying to flash these two files (the "fastboot" versions, right?)

You already touch it.
But you cant do it without tricks.
1/Error showed:
- Run bypass again (Runthis.bat)
- Connect your phone without press anything. Hold Power + volume up until Bypass success and release. Then quickly press Download on Sp flash tool
2/Error not show: Stuck at red DA 100% for more than 10s
- Press Stop
- Run bypass again (Runthis.bat)
- Connect your phone without press anything. Hold Power + volume up until Bypass success and release. Then quickly press Download on Sp flash tool
You need do it 2 times to work
(You dont need to add libusb again unless you change other port. Dont recognize can be solve by Power + volume up)

Thanks, love you man <3
The only problem I had was that I didn't know that you need to have the runthis.bat window focused or else it won't show updates (new lines), I had the SP Flash Tool window focused at first. After I figured this out though - following your instructions precisely, it worked flawlessly. Much thanks!!! <3
