Question Backup complete system - Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE

Hi,
Now I have PixelOS 13 installed but I want to try others rom.
My question is it is possible to create complete backup with system, system settings, installed applications with they settings, that after restore everything will be like before flash others ROM?
I try to run TWRP but its not starting and on the orangefox the touchscreen is not working. I only try to start them with boot commant, not to flash.

[Q] How do I restore /system on same stock HTC 4.4.3 ROM and keep apps?

HTC Clock widget looks weird today after running filesystem repair in TWRP on /system, white background with white data so I am going to restore /system back up in TWRP as something is wrong when trying wp_mod.ko on my rooted S-ON HTC One M8 4.4.3 T-Mobile Sense 6.
But I have few questions as I only found how to restore to stock for warranty/returns or from different non-stock ROMs. ANd I have same stock ROM that I want to restore before /system got damaged.
I want to keep my apps and their data. Possibly home screens and settings to save lots of time.
I did back up user and system apps and their data in Titanium Backup and /data and /System partition in TWRP
1. When flashing different ROMs it is always required to do wipe in TWRP. What about if it is the same stock ROM?
If I want to just restore my /system partition backup before it got file system errors, what do I need to do exactly to keep my apps and settings if possible?
2. Is wipe to factory required?
3. WIpe just certain things and which?
4. Is there a way to back up and restore Xposed modules' settings?
Thank you in advance for help.
Hi,
1. Flashing different roms should always start with wiping system, data, cache and dalvik. Use titanium backup to backup your user apps. And you can restore them after. Don't restore sysyem apps. Usually if you are just flashing an update of the same rom, you can dirty flash, unless the Dev says otherwise. That means just going into recovery and flashing the rom update. No wiping. If you have any issues though, the first thing you'll be told is to clean flash.
2. For a different rom, yes. See number one.
3. See number one.
4. See number one... Titanium backup.
As far as system settings, like sounds and what not... You will have to set them again after a clean flash. If you use a launcher from the play store, like Nova for example... You can backup with titanium and restore after and your home screens will be restored. With the stock launchers, no. You will have to arrange them again.
Hope that helps. ?

After a factory restore some apps fail to save content to system.

I just restored my phone and some apps are not working correctly. it seems that the apps can't save any files to the android system or something. I am rooted and have stock touchwiz, android 4.4.2, and twrp recovery. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Did you use twrp or stock recovery to reset the phone? Sometimes, stock recovery will work better.

TWRP
I'm finding a lot of apps can't write to the system. I just installed Titanium Backup and it can't create a backup location. RedReader Beta says error in cache storage and may be out of space. and zedge tells me download fail when I try to download anything.
Try doing a factory reset with stock recovery from the ROM, not the recovery menu.
If you were coming back from Android 12.x to Touchwiz I have read where it is sometimes necessary to format the internal sdcard to get all bits working correctly. If the factory reset from stock recovery, as suggested by audit13, doesn't work then try the format. Doing so will clear all apps and settings, be warned.
I will try try this when I get home this evening.

Make sure you are back on a custom recovery, such as TWRP, if you need to formate the internal sdcard. This will make it easier to flash a ROM from the external sdcard, since you just wiped the internal.

Reverting from CM13 to stock OOS

After using CM13 for a month, I decided to restore my original OOS 3.2.4 backup yesterday in TWRP (I wiped data, system, cache and dalvik beforehand). After restoring, I rebooted system but it would not get beyond the initial OnePlus logo, so i figured there was something wrong with the backup. I realised it only included boot, data and system, but not system image. Anyway I restored my CM13 backup which is working fine, but I would still like to go back to OOS. Will it work if I do the following...
1) Flash stock recovery
2) sideload full 3.2.4 image through stock recovery
3) factory reset in recovery
Could I avoid factory resetting and keep my storage data if I do this...
1) Flash stock recovery
2) sideload full 3.2.4 image through stock recovery
3) reflash TWRP
4) restore my original OOS backup again (boot, data, system)
Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else, in these forums, but the only threads that talk about returning to stock seem to be for OOS users going back to earlier OOS versions or unrooting and/or relocking the bootloader. None of them mention specifically going back to OOS from a custom ROM as far as I can see. I just wanted to check I'm on the right track.
Thanks

Need help to install custom rom

Hello,
I don't know why my lg g3 phone doesn't want boot on custom rom.
I have the LG G3 d855 model, 16gb memory and here are my procedure to install every custom rom :
1. Flash Stock ROM using LGUP (the version of the firmware is not important but the possibility to root is)
2. Install KingRoot and get root
3. Install AutoREC and enter to the recovery
8. Flash Recovery TWRP 3.1.0-2
9. Reboot to the new recovery
10. ADVANCED WIPE (wipe cache, dalvik cache, data and SYSTEM)
11. Flash baseband 21C
12. Flash CUSTOM rom
13. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
14. Flash Gapp
15. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
16. Reboot
I think I did nothing bad...
but the phone does not start and it stays at the initial logo screen (not the LG logo, but the custom rom logo). I waited over 10 minutes to boot but nothing. Even though I install the identical rom again or install an anoter rom, each time the same issue.
This happens with all custom rom (xenonhd, resurrection remix, and now lineageOS)
I can use and boot on stock rom but each time I want to install a custom rom, my phone doesn't want to boot. The phone display stays at the initial rom logo screen.
It seems that I am alone to have this problem.
I don't know why and I search everywhere to find out the solution...
PS : My phone never restart by itself. I never have bootloop with my phone when I using stock rom and same with custom rom..
The problem is the boot with a custom rom. The phone don't want to boot and stay on logo loading...
Any suggestion may be help.
Thank you.
1. Once you installed TWRP you don't have to go back to stock to switch roms. From then on you can just download zips and flash them.
2. You need to delete everything (including system) except internal and external storage ( so you can still flash the zip for xceed, otherwise you will delete it). Remember that you will lose all your apps including your data with it. You can backup them with titanium backup tho. Pictures and video's will still be there as they are stored on the internal or external storage.
3. You also need to flash the GAPPS package after flashing rom, for xceed (7.1.1), pick nano (ARM)
4. Wipe cache and dalvik after flashing and reboot.
5. Make a backup before you do so !!!!!!
Good luck.

Hello,
1. I think that but with specific rom, some people tell us to flash stock rom before flashing a custom rom. eMMC bug related ?
2. Deleting the system changes nothing because the system is wiped when I flash the rom, right ?
3. if the rom boot first then I will install Gapps. Else, I don’t install because the rom doesn’t want to boot.
1. Well .. I've been switching between fulmics, xceed,rr, .. etc without any problem so no, there is no need to go back to stock everytime.
2. Try it, you won't be able to boot until you flash a new rom, but it could help. That's why you take a backup in the first place. It is more 'clean' and if you don't try it you won't know.
3. Sometimes you have to flash gapps directly after the rom or you will be in for a bad time if you do afterwards.
Once you have TWRP recovery installed it's the easiest thing ever to flash a new rom. Make sure your zip files are downloaded okay. Download the MD3 to check it. Try to download via MEGA app or so, because browsers downloads tend to have errors sometimes.
Apart from that. Don't root via kingroot. They have had some suspicious cases where malware was installed on the phone when rooting.
If nothing's works. Go back to full stock through KDZ, root wit your PC, install TWRP via autorec, go to recovery, wipe everything, install modem 21C, install rom and gapps, wipe cache, reboot. Don't try anything other than that.
I have the same problem

Hello,
I have a question.
Can you give me a gapp 100% compatible with all custom rom with android 7.1.2, because i think opengapp are not reliable. Maybe the gapp will cause my issue and the rom won't boot.
Can i use this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...isited-slim-gapps-6-0-7-0-unofficial-t3462088 ?
I always use PICO version of gapp

TWRP restore and Lineage 17.1

I have TWRP 3.4.0.1 and I have recently installed Lineage 17.1
Before the Lineage instalaton I made a backup of my Stock Android 6.0.
My installation Lineage 17.1 + gapps pico 10.0 was straightforward but I seem to be havinga problem in using Restore in TWRP.
I can restore the stock installation... though I need to keep the screen "alive" otherwise it fails and restarts.
Restoring Lineage is a problem and seems to boot loop (not sure how long I should wait ?)
Would somebody please advice what I should Wipe when going from "Stock" to a restore of Lineage backup and should I take any particular options on either the Backup or Restore.
If I go from a Lineage installation to Lineage restore (I'm experimenting with different gapps versions) do I need to handle this in a different way ?
Will what I backup and/or choose to restore guide what I should wipe ?
If I'm doing a Restore should I be wiping anything ?

Flash this immediately after restoring the Lineage 17.1 backup and you will be happy http://www.mediafire.com/file/a454nnpp8l7afbr/fix_rootfs_label.zip/file
Fixed !
Thanks for your advice ....solved all the problems.
Maybe this should be added to the standard installation instructions or is this problem unique to 17.1 ?
