General How to Install Windows 11 on Xiaomi Pad 5! Tutorial from Gizmochina - Xiaomi Mi Pad 5

It’s been more than a year since the Xiaomi Pad 5 is here with all its high-end specifications consisting of Snapdragon 860 and Snapdragon 870 on respective models. Surprisingly, the Android tablet from Xiaomi can now run Windows 11 without any major bugs or flaws. As spotted on Geekbench running Windows 11 earlier this year, the build is now live for all the users via WOA Msmnile Project aka Mindows listed on Github. The Mindows project is been under development for the past several months.
............
Now, the user can flawlessly use Windows 11 on Xiaomi Pad 5. However, we recommend getting a USB Type-C adapter for use as a charger and connecting other utilities at the same time.
The performance will be a bit slow in comparison with Android on the Xiaomi Pad 5, but it is worth considering if you want the best multitasking.

Failed to save unlock token and signature
i think my pad bricked. fastboot commands are not working anymore because of lock...

Any known limitations with using WIndows 11 on this? Does the pen work? Why does everyone recommend using a type c dock? Does the smart keyboard work?

if you can get to fastboot, try to unlock again, or flash china firmware.
If these options don't work, you will need to force it to EDL mode and have a dev account to flash it again. I find someon from tokyo, at 4 in the morning who could help me when I did this.
Your bootloader locked because you flashed stock rom and haven't changed the default value of "clear all and lock". happened to me as well. that, or you played with the tool and locked it in the BL tab.

- Are you sure that you allow USB debbugging in developer options?
- You can check if maybe was unlocked? In developer options, sometimes result is ok but give a msg of error.
- If previous don't help just in this thread you find answer, it seems an issue of account signing https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max/help/mi-account-question-t3535041

Same problem - My solution
Hi guys,
I've got the same problem and after following the standard tuto, my phone stucked at 50 %.
I'm on 8.1.9.0 global stable version.
The solution was just to go on the developper options and after unable usb and oem unlock, I changed the "mi unlock status".
I started after that the bootloader unlocking operation and everything went perfect.
Hope this could help.

Do you tyr to enable in dev options : debug USB to allow modification to PC ?
What is your rom version ? Did you previouly root your device ?
What is the error you've got when trying to unlocking ?
Be patient : we will find !!!
Hi, this is how I did it (autotranslated from italian, sorry):
Facing same problem here on helium 128GB, tried everything,
My account has unlock permissions (I've successfully unlocked hydrogen 3GB/32GB but sold it away)
USB debugging is on
logging in with the phone number (both in phone and on PC) Win 10 x64
only 1 device in the account,
find my device is on,
tracking device on i.mi.com
Previously I had Hydrogen and it unlocked on developer version but Helium doesn't have Global Developer and I'm on Nougat test Builds but I don't find a way to unlock it.
Have you guys done this?

In Mi Unlock Status I'm getting Error code 86012, very famous error, many people having it, infact there's a bug report for this error.

On helium, does the unlock in dev options work on global developer rom only? Cant get this to work on global stable 8.1.9.0
Ensure that you login with phone number of Mi account and that there are no other devices in Mi account. If it still doesn't work as it did for me, post in MIUI forum and they will add you to senior group and it will work like a charm

Can't unlock Mi 6 via Mi Unlock Tool getting frustrated.

Hello,
I am experiencing issues unlocking the BootLoader for Mi6 Device, I tried using Official Mi Unlock tool, but I keep getting strange errors or wrong information, please help me how I should proceed. It's extremely frustrating, I have been trying for months now, without any success.
Device : Mi 6
OS: 8.7.19 (Mi10 Global Dev) , tried the stable as well without any good results, some people on the Miui forums recommended trying the Global Dev version.
OS of PC : Windows 10 x64 ( disabled driver enforcement while using Mi Unlock Tool)
Once I try to unlock I get this error:

Try "fastboot oem unlock" from fastboot.
Ensure that "OEM unlocking" is toggled on from developer settings.
If the tool allowed the unlock perhaps the bootloader can be fully unlocked by manually issuing the command.
Alternatively run a VPN to a Beijing server and run the unlocking again.
Did you receive a conformation text etc etc etc?
Hello, man I've got a solution for you, i also had this same problem, solution is download xiaomi flash tool and then download miui 9 fastboot rom for mi 6 and then flash the miui 9 rom, and then go again and request for unlocking in developer options, wait for 3 days and then try to unlock with mi unlock, it will work.

I guess it's your drive problem.
maybe you should update your drive
Via edl mode flash miui9 or miui8, then try to unlock

Device is running MIUI 10.2.5.0.PFBEUXM, I've enabled Developer Options and have turned on "OEM Unlock" and USB Debugging and was successfully added to my Mi Account, I've checked on i.mi.com.
I've also tried multiple versions of Xiaomi's unlock tool but always keep running into the same error.
I'm running the latest update of Windows 10 and have tried rebooting the computer.
Do you guys have any ideas on how I could possibly fix this?

If you were using pc, try using laptop (or another pc/laptop) and use usb 2.0 ...

Looking at the devices list linked in the post, looks like the answer is no. It actually says that bootloader unlock isnt supported at all. Possible that i'm just reading it wrong though.
I Think i might unlock my device after Android 10 will be officially released by Xiaomi, it's hard to say goodbye to MIUI it isn't that bad like a lot of people are saying around. Anyway if i may ask (maybe not appropriated thread but..) , how much time is needed from the moment i "request" the bootloader unlock?

Unfortunately it kind of varies. I got my Mi Mix 3 in March of 2019 and I only had to wait 3 days after connecting my Mi account to the phone to unlock the bootloader. My friend purchased a Mix 3 in June and had the same experience of 3 days. A third friend just bought the Mix 3 two weeks ago, and had to wait 7 days to unlock it. I'm not sure if Xiaomi increased it again, but compared to what it used to be (a few weeks/months) I consider us lucky they reduced it so significantly.

soft bricked redmi note 8 pro‏

my problem is that i flashed my RN8P with MIUI 12.0.5.0 manually using mi flash tool, and i accidentally checked on clean_all_lock for more security reasons. This led me to a bricked phone and stuck on the recovery with a message " this miui version can't be installed on this device".
Before flashing i didn't know that i have the chinese version of RN8P and the bootloader was already unlocked by the seller and flashed with a global ROM.
I didn't even know what bootloader is, but it's been a week since this happened and I never stopped searching for a solution. I removed the back cover to do the EDL method then I found that I must have an authorized account to flash it, this where I lost hope and became clueless. Note that my phone is bound to my mi account.
I wish that you can help me.
i'm also facing the same problem, i accidentally choose checked on clean_all_lock. is there any solution for this problem? thanks.
