Yes... 10 Minutes.

The device is running extremely slow. First boot took about 4 hours, successive reboots take anywhere between 2-10 minutes, unlocking and locking takes about 20 seconds, the whole interface feels as if the CPU is choking.
Should I reinstall the ROM or should I consider moving back to LineageOS 17.1?

4 hours is a bit too long, anyhow is marked as alpha build so should be excepted. If it's your primary then flashing alpha is never recommended.

4 h is astonishingly long. First boot, coming from LOS 19.1, took 4 to 5 minutes here, didn't take the exact time.
Cheers
Toscha

Agree . 2 Minutes after dirty from 19.1. No Problems so far.

Boot was fast but selinuk disabled?

Getting this information from Android Police to come here. I went over to my storage room to dig out my OP2 which is gathering dust there perhaps more than 5 years! I have had 3 more phones since I given up on the OP2, a Samsung Galaxy S8+, Google Pixel 5 and using a Google Pixel 6 Pro now.
I forgot how to root the OP2 and where I can have custom recovery to flash this. Can someone give a hand? Also, I don't think I will use the OP2, perhaps going to donate it after setup or if you can recommend how I can put it in a usable way.
Thanks
Edit: Figure it out and now it is working, will play a few days then perhaps give it to someone which really needed a phone.

Make sure you wipe system, not just data.
Device will also be quite hot after booting up and setting everything so that will also affect performance until it settles and device is used more normally.
Also once everything is set up, plug your phone and let it sit at 100% for a while. This will let android optimize ART. This is HDD to SSD difference on OnePlus 2. (I just let mine charge overnight atleast once to make sure it completes fully, or I run it manually)
Results here on a clean flash (wiping system/data/cache/dalvik)
Flashing ROM : 50s
Flashing Core Gapps : 25s
First Boot : 10m 24s
Setting it up right now, will edit post later

Hello, I installed the rom, it is slow but it works. I have a problem with Play Store, it can't update the Apps.
after a few reboots and crashes, play store has completed the update
app in crash "COM.QUALCOMM.QCRILMSGTUUNE"

First of all, thank you so much for all your work man, I just saw that you not only maintain official LOS for dragon and this crDroid port but also commit to official TWRP. I don't know how you do all this, but I admire and applaud it.
Two quick questions:
1. GApps are optional, right?
2. Do I flash Magisk after first boot (as described in OP under "Pre-Installation") or right after ROM (as described in OP under "First time installation")?
Edit:
Ok, I just couldn't wait and flashed it. To answer my own questions:
GApps are indeed optional and I flashed Magisk only after booting crDroid for the first time.
@ followmsi
So far I encountered the following problems:
1. A lot of artifacts/flickering/flashing of the UI, looks like refreshes/repaints that get stuck half-way. Sometimes it is impossible to e.g. use the keyboard because of this. If you want I can provide photos, but it should be pretty easy and obvious to reproduce this unless there is something seriously wrong with my installation.
2. Booting into crDroid only works every other time or so, it often freezes on the large Google logo screen. Holding the power button until it shuts off mostly fixes the problem and it boots successfully on the next try, but sometimes even a third try is needed.
Apart from these problems, first impression is very good. Nice to see Android 10 with lots of customization on the good old dragon
Thanks again and let me know if I can be of assistance.

Edit: Just an FYi, a dirty flash from CR 6.5 to 6.9 was buggy. Might need a clean flash.
Also, Magisk Canary didn't want to flash. Tried multiple methods. Not a big deal because Magisk betta worked just fine.
Everything is running well,
Thanks!

Awesome, Thanks. Just upgraded from Dirty Unicorns. Flashed with Nik Gapps, no problem except prior mentions in the LOS thread. Thank you a gain and have a great holiday!
First of all, thank you for all your work . I have flashed crDroidAndroid-11.0-20201219-dragon-v7.1.zip and Nik gapps. After the display has switched itself off, it switches on again automatically after 5 seconds and so on. If I turn the display off using the button, it won't turn on again. Do I have any setting that causes this?
It's time for a new build ..
crDroidAndroid-11.0-20210414-dragon-v7.5.zip
Changes:
- Google Security updates -> April 2021
- Latest device and kernel changes for dragon
- Backport of Wifi-Display (Miracast) for Android 11
- Latest crDroid changes for Android 11

Thank you @followmsi for your support of this ROM, as I much prefer it with all it's customization over basic LineageOS. It seems to run much better now than before as well. I think there were some RAM-related issues.
But I have run into a grave problem, as I have accidentally turned off WiFi and now the tablet has become unresponsive, as the UI seems to crash repeatedly. Only the status bar and lock screen symbol pop in and out. I tried to turn on WiFi by booting into TWRP and changing "wifi_on" to 1 in "/data/system/users/0/settings_global.xml" but it didn't work. The tablet runs warm and safe mode doesn't work either btw. Any idea?
Edit: I decided to perform a clean install, since it's been a while anyway and we've skipped a couple versions as well. Anyway, I initially tested to turn WiFi off and it worked fine, no crash. I proceed to set up my device somewhat, enable dark mode, change icon shape, go through all crDroid settings etc.; I turn off WiFi once more, from the quick-settings, and it happened again. I'm not sure what setting or customization exactly leads to this, but I guess I'll have to be very careful not to turn it off for now. If I can help troubleshoot this issue, let me know.
Edit2: I think I figured out what it is: Data usage (daily/monthly) in the quick settings. Gotta keep that turned off.

Just a note in case anyone else stumbles upon this: I could not get this build to boot with OpenGapps and a clean install, tried three times including format data and everything. Then tried NikGapps and it worked like a charm.
ROM itself is awesome, no problems so far, reasonably fast considering the hardware and a lot of cool features.
This is my last crDroid build for Android 11 .. the next build will be based on 12.

Hi... I liked the ROM. It's awesome.
Thanks buddy.
1. My SD card cannot be formatted as portable storage. I had to format as internal.
2. USB OTG was not detected.
PS. I was on Havoc 3.9 and I had formatted only system and vendor. Data was not erased before flashing the ROM. In short dirty flash.
Please tell me if above two problems are known bugs or due to dirty flash. Should I clean flash again?

I recommend migrate app to migrate all the apps instead of dirty flashing. It's faster too. Takes little time to setup settings.
Does this build support f2fs?
Black screen after first boot. Is it magisk problem or Gapps ?

TBH I have many good experience with Cyanogenmod and Lineage in the past, and I have the feeling this is gonna be good too.. and so few days ago, when I was planning to use Android 11 Custom ROM, I was planning that I'm gonna use this Lineage OS again,... but before that ever happened, I try Colt 7, and I feel it as a nice ROM for me, without bug nor any hassles, so, meanwhile, for now, I will stay at Colt first, and I decide to wait until the Lineage Android 11 can have more mature stage, before I try it.
I still always love Lineage tho...

We are very excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Quartz, based on Android 10.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

I'm not sure, but maybe you can, I would recommend clean flash anyday though.

Hello whyredFire, maybe it's just my phone but whenever I tap on the Google search bar, it doesn't pop up the keyboard unless I tap the cursor again. This doesn't happen in other search bar, such as the Settings search bar

I tried it couple many times, and it's fine here. Since you've dirty flashed this one.... I would recommend a clean flash. Tip: Backup all your stuff using an app called "Migrate" on Play Store and you're good to go.
I have been having issues with whatsapp notifications on Paranoid, earlier on Quartz 4 but on Quartz 5 too.
Things like receiving calls but the phone remains asleep, or messages being notified tens of minutes later.
Today I tried Lineage 17.1 and it works fine.
Unfortunately I won't be able to try any solution until I decide to reflash the rom, but I'd like to know if this is a known issue and/or there is a trivial solution.
COD Mobile
Excelent ROM, battery Life

I dirty flashed from PA 4, didn't have any issue thankfully.
Did you wipe system, dalvik and cache?
Thanks OP for the updates! Fingers crossed I don't have any more excessive battery drain from my Mi Band being connected.
Edit:
Working great! battery life is amazing now. Also not sure if it's just me but it feels more fluid now too.
Thanks again!
Mr. WhyredFire, could you add live display please?
where's the download link? Also on official website any idea when it will be available because except 2-3 models quartz5 is available there for every model and ginkgo is among those 2-3 unfortunately

Hi. There are 2 things that I miss and couldn't find on settings even with nova launcher installed. It's possible to enable?
1) partial screen shot
2) assign functions to hold the virtual buttons like holding the back button kill the active app.
Thanks

Great work, now we have fast R ROM! (but not as fast as Enchanted LOS 17.1)
Wow, thank you so much!! The performance and battery backup is very decent. No major issues except 2 things things,
1. Double tap to wake up missing.
2. Camera flash does not work. (however this can be resolved by using Footej camera 2)
You are best @xNombre . Nice work.
Hello,
I've just pushed a new update. It's stable release!
I'm actually surprised by how smooth gemini came out to be on a11.
Camera led is broken and probably will be, I cannot do much about it. You can always use custom camera app.

Thanks for your support on gemini. Everything works fine and smooth for now.
Just a small bug i found is disabling hardware buttons doesn't disables home button key.
On the latest version after turning on device encryption functionality and setting up boot password on, it stucks on infinite booting animation and never boots up again.

Hi!
I've been using your crdroid 6 for almost a year and I love it, thank you so much for your support on gemini.
I wanted to try this version but i can't find gapps for android 11 on the link you provided. Should I use NikGApps or it would be better to download the test version of opengapps for android 11? Would it add stability problems?
Thanks again and happy holidays to everyone!

LuisROM is fork of crDroid. This is pure one. I use crDroid for long time so I have no reason to try other ROMs.
I would very much like to see an official crDroid 7.x for this device.
The simple fact of the matter is this - LineageOS and crDroid are head and shoulders above everything else for stability. And that holds on virtually every device, from what I can see.
Stability is the number 1 thing. I do not give a toss about fancy gimmicks and fanboyism.
All the complaints about "my wifi keeps rebooting the device" and so on, are all utter **** from beginning to end. The people who post these things are clueless buffoons, and their posts are just pollution.
My 3 current devices are all LineageOS 17.1 - Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T, Oneplus 5T, Samsung Galaxy Tab s5e - but they could equally well be crDroid - except of course, there is no official crDroid for the Samsung.
Yet.
How can I improve the quality of the microphone?
New build is up.
crDroid 7.4
March security patch
NOTE: Format data required if you installed Magisk, otherwise you risk bootloop! There seems to be issues with Magisk, so not recommended to use.

Excellent news. Now all 3 of my devices have both LineageOS and crDroid official ROMs available.
Thank you for commiting to the S5e. I will post once I try out this exciting new release.
So here is my first impressions of this ROM.
First of all it is pretty good, and all features seem to be present.
The only niggling doubt I have is that the permissions for apps seem to be slightly bizarre. There are entries for each app relating to sensors permissions. I have never seen that on other ROMs, and I don't like new things that may be erroneous.
Notwithstanding that, it is a very decent effort, and the dev deserves great credit.

Works with my 2 Shields TV
i just installed this, coming from LouisRom, but still followed "first time installation" instructions. it boots to android, but then is a black screen with a notification bar, and keeps popping up "Android setup keeps stopping"
Think im gonna retry, format data again etc, see if that helps...
I have installed this as well immediately upon notice. The weird thing for me is that the accelerometer seems to be not transmitting anything, so the screen rotation doesn't work. Does anyone have the same symptom?
Edit: Seems just a single time problem. A reboot with all rotate switches on and horizontal position seemed to have fixed the issue. No worries.
2nd Edit: There seems to be a bug for landscape view that all the apps on the home screen has lost their labels. Portrait view has no problem. Picture attached.
Also, it seems that the volume buttons in landscape orientation have been reversed, which I am not sure if it's done intentionally or not.

I don't have it installed now but the volume buttons should be in settings under buttons > keyboard cursor control. Look at launcher settings for labels in landscape, although they may not be available.
