[QUESTION] Lineage OS 18.1, Pixel XL Marlin and SafetyNet with Google Pay - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

hello there
is anyone here uses the LOS 18.1 official for Google Pixel XL (marlin) and make payments with the Google Pay? i succefully bypass the SafetyNet with magisk hide, the safetynety fix and props config, but the Play Protect doesn't certificate my device/ account.
The Google Pay shows that my device dont match the safety requirements.

It usually takes the Google Servers a few hours or days to handshake with your device in leu of the 'Don't match' notification.
Have you even tested Google Pay in the real world to see if it actually works?

Thanks for the information.
I research a lot on the forum and the internet to better understand the Google Pay and the similar services. I'm currently with the device certified on the play store and using the google wallet (google pay) smoothly.
i was about to close the thread later today, without first mentioning how i got do that.
thanks to the kdrag0n Thread it's possible to use the LOS 18.1 with magisk root and safety net all pass, in case someone fall on the same "newbie question" as me XD
but thanks @rodken for the attention!
best regards,
eric

PM Plus for Honor 7

I happened to stumble across this add-on for Phone Manager in the Play Store recently. It looks legit and seems to add a genuinely useful feature or two to PM.
Thoughts? Anyone played with this?

it's an official app
i use it daily
Yes its official... Its a bit of xprivacy feeling directly coming from huawai.
I just want to let people know this:
After I installed it, all of a sudden the smart-headset button-function, as well as music controls on my Sony Smartwatch 3, didn't work for some of my music-apps. At first I thought it was a problem in the B320 firmware, but it had worked before... However, after allowing auto-launch of my music apps in the phone manager (TIDAL, for example), it worked again.
So in case anyone finds that they can't control their music via headset or smartwatch or have other issues after installing PM Plus, go to phone manager -> app auto-lauch (this is on Marshmallow, it's called "startup manager" on Lollipop, I think) and enable the apps that cause trouble
I can not find the app in Play Store. When I open the link on my laptop, under the name of the app there is a X sign with the text "This app is incompatible with your device." When I click on the text it appears "Vodafone HUAWEI PLK-L01", my device.
Does anyone know why I got this message, why the app is not compatible with my device??

Still not released yet. I have the apk but won't work. I'll upload when it starts working.
I wish they would combine their video calling and chat app into one! And maybe it could also read SMS. That would be awesome!
Wait... they have one... it does all of this and also calls real phone numbers... it is called Hangouts! I think Google should stop eating mushrooms.
Useless for guys like me who don't use gapps on their phones. It's a retarded piece of crap that refuses to work without gapps. So i uninstalled it and i sent them an email telling them to go eff themselves. WhatsApp works perfectly fine without gapps and i had the chance to try it on the slowest networks possible from Chenai to Galle or Djibouti and Madagascar. It never failed to work on all those continents and countries i had the chance to visit with my bulk carrier. Google Duo, GO EFF YOURSELF ! WE DON'T NEED YOU.

Actually it get a little bit popular in our country since they banned the VoIP protocol, Duo uses WebRTC protocol so inexperienced people shouldn't care about vpn apps

Can't set android pay as default payment app

Hello.
Some time ago i bought used Motorola Z Play on ebay from Germany. I thought all Z play have dual sim but i wrong.
So i unlock bootloader, root my phone and make my phone dual sim ( i used this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z/how-to/guide-to-enable-dualsim-singlesim-t3594529)
and install magisk.
Long story huh? So that's the problem.
I can install Android Pay and can add credit card. But i can't pay by Android Pay.
I think it's because i can't set Android Pay as default payment method.
When i install AP he ask me 2 times:

}
I click yes but nothing happens and in Tap and Pay i see nothing.
I tried to install diffferent apps which can use NFC and these apps appear in Tap&Pay just fine.
So please help me understand what is the reason? Why i can't set AP as default payment app?
Do you pass both safety net tests? Does RootBeer sample detect anything if you set it in Magisk hide?
I'd bet it doesn't let you pay because it detects something. Making a single Sim device a dual SIM one is probably too much

Hello. Thanks for answer!
Yes, Magisk show all safety net test passed
And rootbeer shows all green.
It drives me crazy.
I installed Google Pay now and icon set as default not working. I can't click on it

Google Assistant Issues

Can anyone else confirm whether the Google Assistant is working correctly on their device?
I can't seem to trigger 'OK/Hey Google' when the screen is off - this functionality worked flawlessly on my Galaxy S8 but only seems to work on the A70 when the screen is on.
What's also interesting is that when I try to access 'Voice Match' the sub-menu doesn't open when clicked (but isn't greyed out).
I've tried reinstalling both the Google and Assistant apps but with no success.
I really miss being able to give commands when driving!
Presumably Bixby (ugh!) still works with the screen off, so I doubt it's a limitation of the SD675 chipset?
Same here. Doesn't work when the screen is off, but works when it's on even if the device is still locked.

Thanks for confirming.
I'll flag this to Google and Samsung teams, but I feel it may be intentional...
Make sure that lock screen personal results is ON in the Google app >> settings >> Google assistant >>assistant >> your phone (in the assistant devices list at the bottom of the page). This is off by default.

Thanks for the guidance. Is your screenshot from an A70?
I don't even have that menu option available? Here's what I have, you can see how it's missing from the list.
Hmm yeah that's from my A70. I am on the beta version of the app so it might be that. Try v10.20.2.21.arm64

Thanks, I tried this but still can't get OK Google to trigger the Assistant when the screen is off. Is this not driving anyone else insane?
Have you found any solution buddy

Question Google thinks I have a Pixel 5

I've never had a Pixel 5, but half the time I flash a ROM on my 9Pro, it ends up showing in Play Store or Maps as a Pixel 5.
What's up with that?
Also, anyone know how I can remove all these devices from Google Maps?
Play Store only has one device, so not sure why Maps has all these devices showing.
This is what pops up when I do a "send directions to my phone".

Some custom roms present themselves as a Pixel device for Google purposes, i.e. unlimited backups or such
https://myaccount.google.com/device-activity for your devices, click the 3 dot menu and sign out, then it will be removed. You might be surprised by what shows up there, mine shows multiple "Android", I have the same for Pixel 5, never had one.

It shows up as a Pixel 5 because some custom ROMs decide to spoof the device model in order to unlock Pixel exclusive features (Screen Call, Direct My Call, unlimited photos, etc.)

Thanks that makes sense.
Was going to give djsubterrain a thumbs up too, but his signature is begging people to give him a thumbs up.
So, it's probably as easy as editing the whatchamacalit file to change the model name then.
I can find it next time I have the issue.

You probably want the /system/build.prop file.
