I have the same question

I think you should consider a few things before migrating to A12, first and foremost:
The look: If you're happy with the look of the A11, stay there. Because A12 is totally different, bigger icons, "warmer" colors, all or most of the colors are pastel.
Something that you should take into account is that eventually most applications will start to change their appearance in order to become more familiar with A12.
Me, I've been considering going back to A11, but I'm afraid of bricking.

DO NOT upgrade to Android 12.
Take it from someone that upgraded his G60s to A12 last week and it's now considering moving to Samsung.
Android 12 has come with some deal breaking bugs that Motorola ain't likely to fix.
From the UI perspective I like A12 more, but what's that good for if the OS does not work well.

Hello. What kind of bugs do you talk about?
I'm on the way to buy this phone to replace my buggy, slow Nokia G20.
Maybe a custom ROM with Android 12 can solve those bugs, but I don't know.

well i have upgraded to the latest software version avaliable for the moto g60 and after few minor security update the phone looks good and the battery life is stable as you can expect from and android phone there where few bugs at the beginning but the security update have fix them all
and even if there is some issue still left after the latest update the phone is still going to get security update i think you should be good to go to update your device at least on a Indian rom it is stable
i hope this help

Custom ROM or not?

I was wondering what people are doing with their 5X's. The Nexus devices use to be a safe haven for ROM users, but with stock Android getting so good with monthly updates, and Android Pay not being usable on a custom ROM, custom ROM's have been a lot less appealing to me.
Nonetheless, I believe that this device suffers from MAJOR optimization issues, and the combination of CM13 and ElementalX kernel solves a lot of these issues, yet I feel like I'm missing out without the possibility of using Android Pay.
I have also grown tired of factory resetting my phone after doing it countless times over the last few years, and I'm ready to not have to do that for a long while, and the most obvious option for that is sticking with stock.
So what are you guys doing? Sticking with stock? Or are you using some custom ROM as a daily driver?

Did someone say custom ROM?
Flashing is addicting. Fun too. And there isn't anything wrong that. If you have the time and patience it is an excellent hobby.
Sounds like it's getting old to you. Maybe it's time to take a break. Try stock unrooted (or rooted) for a week or so and see if it works out for you. If not flash away. You won't be out anything.
I'm on day 3 of stock unrooted (for the best buy deal). I'm going to see how long I can stay this way.

How is the battery back up of Honor 8 Pro C675 with EMUI 5.1 (Nougat)?

Hello guys,
I recently got my phone from Flipkart on discount and I was tempted to install Oreo and so I did. Now it suffices to say the battery backup is absolutely horrible (among other issues of course). Barely lasting me 12 hrs with average daily usage, certainly much less than what 4000 mAh battery should provide.
So people who're lucky enough to still be on EMUI 5.1, is the battery backup satisfactory?
If that is the case, I might consider rolling back.

Then perhaps the Oreo rom of Indian unit (C675) is not optimised. I assume your unit is German.
Also, cool theme... Suggest which one?
The theme is this one:

Oreo vs. Pie; Miui vs. Aosp vs. LOE

I can soon finally unlock my phone. However, I am kind of lost.
I know I need to pick my ROM myself. What I dont know yet, is what general differences Oreo vs. Pie has and Miui vs. Aosp. vs. Loe in terms of battery, Camera, stability, security and performance.
From what I gather Oreo ROMs are most stable, but lack latest security updates. MIUI has best battery life and Camera. How do Greenified Aosp ROMS with gcam compare?
I dont really like Miui, but I really enjoy the battery life at the moment. On my Note 3 I enjoyed the control RR gave me overmy experience.
Greetings

has your phone ever been hacked? Do you really need security updates?
I recommended AEX, RR, on Oreo.
Pie roms can't recording stereo sound, The volume control of the call and notification is still. united, it is very uncomfortable.
Best pie roms — Havoc, Liquid remix if you want good customization.
Thanks for the answer. I might aswell just go with RR again. You are right. Do you know how RR and AEX compare in terms of Battery consumption?
Now i have 7h 22m SOT, but! I played PUBG for 3h22m.
I used AEX several months until recently. they are about the same, but RR a little better (probably).

Testing Android 12 for Samsung galaxy S10+

Update 47 (October 20)
IST 11:22 am: Now, reports indicate that Samsung might have started testing out Android 12-based One UI 4.0 for users of the Samsung Galaxy S10+.
As this is a pretty young stage, we still have no idea when the Beta program will start. Stay tuned for more. Many thanks to Onur for the tip.

Anyone capture the S10 plus beta for snapdragon U1 version?
The worstest update ever ! As I said somewhere else...Samsung&Google "privacy schizophrenia" on maximum level. They pretend to keep privacy even we all already compromized it with ours various multitude of accounts throughout social medias.

Well of course Google has a bad record on Privacy. BUt why is it bad final releases are up at SamMobile? UNrooted it should be stable. Obviously Magisk wouldn't be working for it yet but I gave up rooting when I couldn't use Google pay and too many warranty issues.

Question Best A52S firmware so far? Any recommendation for firmware update?

I still have Android 12 April 2022 firmware on my A52s and from what I'm reading the newer Android 13 updates are quite experimental that come with a lot pros and cons, is any firmware worth updating or should I keep my old one? Perhaps waiting a few months until a better solution comes out? What's your opinion on this? Thanks in advance

What is experimental with Android 13? It works almost flawlessly on my A52s, waiting for One UI 5.1 right now. Everything stock, everything works. Don't even feel the need to debloat.
Camera performance during video is choppy (like 10fps during preview, standard 30fps during playback).
Fingerprint sensor does not turn off the blue light filter sometimes and thus does not always work.
I have clean flashed Android 13 (after OTA updated caused the same issues) but it did not help with the fingerprint issue. The camera issue was gone for a while but it came back.
What do you think of this result so far?
