Question Fastboot mode - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

When i try to enter fastboot i am not getting the logo but just the word "fastboot". My poco f3 works perfectly but will not enter the fastboot mode with the logo. When i connect to the pc it is not recognised in this mode. I would be grateful if anyone can advise how to get it back to normal.

New fastboot logo is the orange FASTBOOT word. So it is already normal. If it's not recognized it may be a problem with drivers, usb cable, debug authorization/permissions.

Hi,
I have had my F3 for 13 months and Fastboot and windows can still be temperamental, my PC has 10+ usb sockets.
As bozinsky73 Suggested installing the correct drivers and maybe a different USB-C lead might help, you could try running MiFlash and then select the drivers tab and then Install, as some XDA users have had success with this.
I have tried 3 different (Aliexpress) Silicone coated leads and these cause my PC to flag up "unknown device" when in FASTBOOT, i also have 2 leads that look like the most cheapest ones out there and these work OK, even thou some times i still have to switch to another USB socket on my PC.
I run 3 different versions of windows on 3 different partitions that run, Win 7, Win 10 and Win 11 and i am still faced with the same issue regardless of the windows version.
I hope you sort it.

Thanks for the replies and solved it with a new cable. I was using the cable that came with the phone but obviously must have damage somewhere. Thanks anyway.

Asus zenfone 2 ZE550ML is not recognized by pc in system, fastboot or recovery mode.

I keep changing roms since long time before on my oneplus devices, i bought asus zenfone 2 and tried to root the phone, it got bricked and i unbricked successfully by using xFSTK tool. device turned on like before but unable to connect to pc, even when MTP is selected it just starts charging when i connect it to pc, even tried with different types of cables still the same issue. tried in recovery and fastboot as well.
at least if it would work in fastboot then i can install twrp and add custom rom. not even able to do that.
P.S - tried even installing adb, intel drivers. problem doesn't seem to be going..
PLEASE HELP.

Brother, after completing this process only i am facing this issue..
unable to connect my phone in any mode. not even to other pc.
Fast charging works?
There may be a problem with the flex cable that has the sim + sd slots on it. Costs 3$ on ebay and its very easy to replace.

No, fast charging was not working after the process in xFSTK tool. it would take around 8 hours to get 100 %

[help] widows, ubuntu, cannot recognise OP 3 fastboot.

Problem
When I plug my phone into usb 2.0 ,usb 3.0 doesn't have any popup and I can't see it in inside device manger, windows shows "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it. " error message and I can't see my phone through fastboot.
Side Problems
I updated to cm14 which made my recovery, (twrp) just black screen and when i went back to cm13 it made my normal boot black screen too.
Note
Have tried multiple Cables. standard OP 3 cable and off brand white one.
Have tried many usb ports.
Have tried three computers. two Win 10, one ubuntu 16.04
Have got the Media Feature Pack for windows 10
Have got latest ADB (on all computers)
Have got latest Fastboot (on all computers)
Have got latest OnePlus 3 drivers
Thank you for reading, any suggestions or links to other threads would be very much appreciated.

Normally when your phone is not recognised, it indicates a driver problem. On Win10, it happens invariably. So search and find ways of properly installing OP3 drivers on Win10. There are umpteen threads in OP3 sub forum.
On black screen, are you using TWRP 3.0.2-23? If not search for it and install it. If nothing works, go to the Mega Unbrick Guide.
Hm thats odd, but its recognized in MTP mode?
I would suggest to only use ubuntu for that cause you don't have that struggle with drivers.. I will flash TWRP on my OP3t now and report back if its working
Black screen on recovery is because of the firmware compatibility with the recovery. Use eng.stk's modded twrp.
If "fastboot devices" doesn't return you anything, try typing the device id after fastboot. Like if you want to flash a recovery, type fastboot -i 0x2a70 flash recovery ---.img
If that doesn't work out, I don't know of any other workaround. If you find a fix, do let us know.
*Mod, please delete this.*
Unwanted post.
How did you go about installing fastboot drivers for Ubuntu? If your device isn't recognised in fastboot I'm sure it's a driver issue.
Needed to reinstall drivers, by disabling device and installing drivers then plugging my phone in.
Phones fine now.
Thanks for the help.

Unable to get xA2 in fastboot mode

Hi there,
strugggling to get the xa2 into fastboot mode so I can flash a new boot.img and root. I've enabled OEM unlocking and installed the USB drivers. the command 'adb reboot fastboot' doesn't work, just reboots the phone. adb over usb works fine. The official method to get into fastboot 'plug in USB whilst holding vol up/down' also doesnt allow me to get itno fastboot mode, phone just stays blank with a notification LED. I use 'fastboot devices' to see it if it connected. I've tried this on 2 PCs now to no avail
I'm thinking maybe the fastboot drivers are wrong?
Does anyone have any other suggestions or help?
Thanks

Hi
Install "5 seconds adb drivers"
Connect the turned off phone to PC via USB just pressing volume down button (no power) and keep pressing it until you see the LED turning green or blue.
Here u have! :highfive:

Hi thanks for getting back to me,
I assume you meant the '15 second installer', which I just did just install successfully. I am still unable to see the device with 'fastboot devices' command.
Other info: I have factory reset the phone, made sure oem unlock is checked, tried the same process on another computer. I can get adb mode to work fine, but the command 'adb reboot fastboot' just reboots the phone as usual

That is the correct behaviour.
Blue LED = Fastboot mode
Green LED = Flash mode (for reflashing stock firmware with XperiFirm in case EVERYTHING is broken)
Install these drivers:
https://adb.clockworkmod.com/
When in Fastboot mode, go to device manager, there is an Android device in there (may also be called MTP device).
In the device manager, install a new driver for that and use the ADB driver from C:\Program Files (x86)\ClockworkMod\Universal ADB Driver
Windows will tell you that it's the wrong driver. Install it anyway and Fastboot will recognize your XA2 now.

If it won't work, after that just go to devices and printers and delete Xperia XA2. It will work.
Else, after installing 15 seconds, inside device manager, update the driver of your phone (or mtp device), select local, then Android device, then fastboot. Disconnect the phone and reconnect as before (volume down)
Fastboot is VOL. UP (on this device)! (Not vol. down)
So basically turn off the device, hold Vol. UP and simply connect to USB, hold Vol. UP until LED is steady blue and you are set.
Note: VOLUME UP activates fastboot and VOLUME DOWN enables flashmode and/or recovery mode
Similar trouble here.
1. VOL UP + plug in USB: Blue led blinks once, then phone shows it's charging (turned off)
2. adb reboot bootloader: Phone just turns off

I had the same issue with my XA2.
The solution (at least for me) was: different USB cable and different USB-port. As it turns out, my cable was somehow worn out (though data transfer and charging was working quite well). Going into fastboot, the blue led lit very short time and then the phone restarted. Furthermore on my PC it somehow only worked on the one USB port and not the other (both USB 3.0).
--> Maybe trying the most obvious might help also some of you

Did solve this by connecting to different PC. No cable/port/hub change did help. Looks like there was some trouble with drivers (though the same PC fastboots Z3 Tablet Compact perfectly).
Same
I'm also having the same issue with my Xperia XA2 Ultra. (boy that's a mouthful)
Phone model is H3223.
Host OS is Windows 10 Pro v. 2004.
Using latest Android SDK tools (i.e. ADB and Fastboot platform tools): platform-tools_r30.0.5-windows. Got it directly from Android site.
I think I had a previous driver for Android already installed or somehow Windows got it. ADB worked, Fastboot didn't. Read online about someone on this forum getting it to work by using XZ2 driver from Sony as they evidently don't have a published driver for this device. The person who posted this solution had reported problems with this driver recently. I tried it anyway.... ADB commands work and my phone shows up when listing devices. Reboot into fastboot mode and the only thing my phone does is show a blue light indicator... no splash screen or logo. To me this means it's starting fastboot but my driver isn't working with it to recognize it as any commands for fastboot return nothing or fail. It doesn't show up under fastboot devices command.
Does anyone have a clue as to what to do?

I have the exact same problem, have not managed to find a solution trying with 3(!) different laptops and 2 different cables. No idea what could go wrong. I checked the device and it says that unlocking is okay. Really frustrating.
Edit: I actually found a way! Once you manage to enter the fastboot mode (light is permanently blue) go to the device manager in windows, click on the unknown android device, and install custom drivers (either by selecting from the list or by picking the universal adb driers from a local folder). These custom drivers should be adb drivers. Once they are installed, fastboot should work.
I had the same problems with my device XA2 H3113 and Win10.
My solution: Try it with Ubuntu. Just grab an 8GB usbstick, install Ubuntu via usb-installer, boot ubuntu and open a terminal
sudo apt update
sudo apt install adb fastboot

Fastboot reboots when connected to PC/Laptop

Hello
Hope someone can help I cannot find a definitive answer hopefully in layman's terms for this problem.
Redmi Note 8 Pro Bergonia 6gb ram 128gb storage Miui 12 Global
Tried CFW 2020 Anti-Brick Corvus ....., Afterwards Phone booted then went completely dead apart from power light when connected to usb
Came accross SP Flash Tool this did help, phone now boots, all seems ok apart from when in fastboot when connecting usb to PC/laptop (tried several cables with a PC and laptop using USB 2.0 all worked prior to trying CFW) all with same result phone stays in fasboot for approx 20 seconds then reboots. Don't know if this is relevant, if I put the phone into fastboot and do not connect to usb, fastboot remains on. Is there anyway I can install twrp and root, or am I stuffed?
Thanks

1/Try flash with Miflashtool
2/Try unbrick hardbrick method. You can find on many: Youtube, Telegram, Github, XDA,... Keep phone in EDL mode by bypass and flash by Sp flash tool.
Thank you SP flash tool and a newer driver fixed it.
Use USB 2.0 ports. (use usb 2.0 hubs if you dont have usb 2.0 ports)
Install drivers properly (it should say Android Bootloader Interface in Device Manager)
