Question Xiaomi Random Restart - Xiaomi 12X

Hello,
I've bought my Xiaomi 12X in May 2022 and for a couple of months I was able to use it without any issues.. After a while I started to get random restarts , in different apps , in different periods of the day in different conditions ( wifi , 4g , bluetooth , etc.).
I've contacted Xiaomi they told me to perform a factory reset. I've done it without sucess.
I've tried already different ROMS ( MIUI 13 and MIUI14 dev) and the problem is still persisting.
Does anyone have a clue of what could be happening ? Any troubleshoot that I can perform ?
Thanks in advance for your help this is driving my crazy!

If after doing all this and it's the same, surely a hardware problem, send it back under warranty.

Ok thanks for the quick response.
Before I send it back to warranty do you think I shall lock it again ( I've done a MI Unlock in order to install a custom rom...) . I'm afraid they won't accept my phone back because i've installed a custom Rom. What do you think ?

Normally this is not a problem but doing it, with the latest stock rom, it will erase your data.

Anyway before I send it back to Xiaomi , I was thinking checking the dump logs , do you know how to do it ? Or analyse the logs with logcat ? Do you have a procedure to do it ? I used to be programmer so I still have good technical knowledge

Especially for a software problem.
How to enable logging using ADB?
1) Settings -> My device -> All specs -> quick-tap "MIUI version" 7 times, until you see a toast notification that "you are a developer".
2) Settings -> Additional settings -> Developer options -> enable "USB debugging".
How to generate a log?
1) Download "adb.zip" and extract it anywhere you want.
2) Connect your device to your PC via USB.
3) Run "StartLog.bat" in the extracted folder.
* If an authorization dialog shows up on your device, click "Allow".
4) Reproduce the issue you're facing, i.e. if the issue is a crash in an app, open the app and let it crash.
5) Stop logging by closing the window that was opened by "StartLog.bat".

I use xiaomi.eu, so far I've experienced random restart two times. It was during phone calls. No idea why...

I think this random restart is related to hardware problem... Previously i owned a Poco x3 Pro, That phone also has this random reboot issue... I tried resetting & even flash Android from Service center..but it didn't solve the issue. So i raised complaint in service center and they replaced my phone with a brand new redmi note 10 pro and a MI band.
So i recommend to visit service center and claim your warranty...

Hi Guys, please help me here.. because i'm getting really upset with Xiaomi and I don't know what to do anymore. I've just spend 1 month sending back and forth my phone to Xiaomi service and the phone sent back with the same issue , they didn't even bothered looking into the phone. They just said : "Cannot reproduce issue". Well actually they just updated it to MIUI14 , but after a while the phone keeps crashing and reboot. Can you guys help me ? Is there a way to get access to the crash logs , I want to proove to Xiaomi Service that my customer is constantly rebooting ? Alternatively Is there any possibility to perform overclock (or underclock) i've seen some post claiming that decreasing the CPU frequency was helping with reboots . Any other ideas ?

Finding a workaround is not a definitive solution, tell them that you still have the problem, possibly make a video proving your statements.

Thanks for the reply , but any idea how to make a video of a random reboot ? I've thought about this several times but I just cannot find the right timing.. since I don't know when the phone is going to crash ... it's just crazy.. other than filming my phone ( with another phone ) for 24 hours I cannot find another solution...

How else to prove this problem?
The phone is guaranteed and may have a motherboard problem, it is not up to you to prove the problem but to them to find the fault.
I don't know what country you are from, but I know that the after-sales service for Europe is deplorable (under-contracted).
If you bought the phone somewhere other than Xiaomi, you should contact the seller and not Xiaomi directly.

I confirm that the after-sales service for Europe is deplorable , i'm in France and i've sent the phone to the after sales in France. They have done nothing with the phone ! They just sent the phone back to me saying 'issue cannot be reproduced'. I really neeed to give them evidence of my issue... do you know where are the crash logs stored in the phone ?

Surely this company, look at the notes:
ceat-electronique.fr est noté « Bas » avec 2,1 / 5 sur Trustpilot
Êtes-vous d'accord avec le TrustScore de ceat-electronique.fr ? Exprimez-vous dès aujourd'hui et lisez ce que 127 clients ont déjà écrit.
fr.trustpilot.com
Regarding the logs on the stock roms, I don't know, not sure that they are accessible by the user.
The problem is that in the event of an app crash you can send a report but in the event of an intensive reboot this is not possible.

Yes, that's the service center in France and I've also checked their reputation in trustpilot and also on google reviews , they are really really bad. Moreover that company is almost bankrupted. But... what can I do ? Do you know any way to escalate this at an higher level at Xiaomi ? I'm always stuck with Xiaomi support center...
By the way ,i was able to get these logs from the stock ROM ( powerinfoFile).

Send them these logs saying that the problem is still present, but given their reputation the task is difficult.
Even by contacting Xiaomi directly, they will refer you to this repair center.
Try an approved repairer or change the motherboard yourself, but it will pay off.
What follows engages only me.
What I would do if no reaction from them:
Short circuit via the USB port to burn out the motherboard, then say that the phone no longer works..
Whereas having a phone that works randomly is the same as no phone.
Straight or double.
A big risk given the reputation of the subcontractor.

I have the same. On my 12X xiaomi.eu beta. Since last year so far 5 times.
Do you have stable?

Hi Guys,
I NEED YOUR HELP , my nightmare is not over.
I’ve sent my phone again ( this is already the 2nd time) for official repairing, this time in switzerland. ( i've attached all the logs prooving that my phone has an hardware issue , showing all the kernel panics , all the fault errors , etc.).
They have sent back the phone saying : ‘Issue cannot be reproduced’.
I don’t know what to do anymore, any ideas ?
Cheers.

Airplane mode on, network problem ZUK Z2

Hello, I'm having problem with my zuk z2. I've had phone for more than a month and it worked fine. I flashed mokee rom and was working excellent. After one update it couldn't connect to network and phone was stuck in airplane mode. It's not showing that airplane mode is on, only when I press power button it says it's on, but nothing happend when pressed. It detects both sim cards but can't get registered on network. Also in secret menu (*#*#4636#*#*) shows Radio off and can't turn it on, or change anything in that menu. I changed a lot of custom and stock roms, with locked and unlocked bootloader, nothing solved the problem. When flash fresh rom it has network (not after every flash), but after some times it just gets disconnected. Please, help me. If someone have solved this problem or have any idea what problem could be.
Edit: I found out that my sim slots IMEI change places, IMEI1 goes to slot 2.
i got the same problem
Same problem here with offician Indian ZUI
damn.. i thought this happened only with china rom.
didn't know it got same issue here.
Same problem
Same problem here. 2.0.133 ST official indian ROM. Any news about this problem?
I have the same issue running Slim 6 on zuk z2
i installed mokee os and the signal comeback again but actually not worked
Yes, I also installed mokee nightly 4/22 and its been working great. Signal is back
me too
Same problem Here.... bought on banggood and after one month network signal disappeared. Today I've unlocked the bootloader and installed Mokee stable ( 13-4-2017) and Lineage 14.1 of 16-01-2017 .... nothing! Still not working.
I suppose it is a failed lot from ZUK delivered from banggood/gearbest/ali ...
I've just wrote an email to zuk support in order to complain about it ...
Yes, because, right now I cannot send back in china at my expenses the equipment and pay for a substitution with another defective terminal.
I've just asked them hoto behave....
I suppose we need to start a class action like the one against samsung for S7 note
However, I'm very disappointed, 1 month and it was looking like a wonderful terminal ...fooooook.
Same problem here. Anybody please share the QCN backup (or valid link to download this) to try repair QCN and IMEIS ?
Same problem here:
I tested different roms and different baseband-versions still no network.
Edit: I also tried flashing it via an external tool - still does not work
http://www.androidbrick.com/zuk-z2-z2-pro-qpst-qfil-miflash-rom-flashing-guide/
I install the Z2plus_MIUI8_6.12.1_zukkati.zip ROM and recover the radios. I feel good!!!!!
Then I installed 2.5.334ST via Qfil, installed TWRP and install other ROMs and everything works fine.
Any Luck guys? Please help if anyone manage to resolve this issue.
Thank you!
Same with me
I had this problem also one month ago, bricked the phone and endly I could it get working again with lingeage on it. Was working perfect.
Today the problem is there again.
When I start the phone without the simcard airplane mode is off (when I touched the power button) with the simcard in the phone it starts with airplane mode on.
Is there a possibility to disable airplane mode complete?
Anyone any idea?
This problem has been around for ages, and no apparent solution to it. Sent it back to warranty and it got flashed frm Custom ROM and back to stock ROM with same results. Useless. Dead.
Got a partial refund instead .
Guys there is any solution?? I have this problem with my Zuk Z2.. Plz help me
Problem Solved
I also had same problem tried all methods described here and in zukfans.eu, but failed. At last discharging(shorting) some capacitor related to network IC did the job.

Mi Max not showing sim signal No Service

Hi guys,
I've got a Mi Max 64gb, it was working ok and then it auto updated to MIUI 9 and now i get no signal. If I go into setting, it will show my sim name (three) but thats it. It has no signal and I thus can not make or take calls. The status bar at the top says no service.
I purchased the phone second hand and everything was working fine so did a blacklist check just in case and both IMEI come back clear. Also when I switch from fin network automatically to manual, it will find a few networks but will no connect.
Anyone know what can be wrong? Phone has locked bootloader fyi.

Ok so I got permission and unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and installed RESURRECTION REMIX 5.8.5 for hydrogen but its still showing no signal. Is there a way to check what can cause the problem as I've tried swapping sim trays (have a faulty one as spares).
Please show your holiday spirit and help me

I really have no idea what your problem might be, but the panacea in all weird cases, irrespective of the particular symptoms, seems to be to fastboot flash a official global stable rom with the Miflash tool.
Then you have hopefully a base "known state" to start from.
If you still have no signal, you might well have a hardware problem.

Hi,
I'm not any kind of expert at these kinds of (radio signal) problems today, though I do have a background in communications electronics construction (c.a. 1980's !)
If you did a complete format of everything before flashing the ROM, and it still doesn't work, I would guess you have a hardware problem.
Of course you want to double-check that your sim cards work in other phones.
I've had some rather weird problems caused by simcards.
You should even ask for a completely new simcard from some provider, and not put it into any other phone first.
How you could go about verifying that you truly have a hardware problem, without handing it over to a service center of some kind for testing, I really don't know.
Perhaps someone else has expertise in this area?
Otherwise, you just write it off as a loss, or sell it on Ebay for whatever you can get.
same with me. my phone not showing signal. the simcard is working before. it show no simcard after i flash twrp and supersu. the problem happen after restart phone. now i'm stuck searching this solution. help me.

Redmi Note 8 Pro doesn't recoginize SIM card

Hi everyone,
After my attempt to flash custom ROM to my RN8P, my device can't recognize my SIM card no more, before that it was working just fine.
The SIM card itself seems to be working just fine (chcecked on other device), it's not a problem with a carrier either.
Since then I've tried: rebooting, turining airplane mode on and off, even switching SIM cards. Also tried to install some other custom ROMS, as well as Official MIUI - unforunatelly without any success.
Has anyone faced similar problem?
I'd be glad for any ideas of yours on how to fix it

Last month I've also faced the same issue with my rn8p like my whole nvram+ nvdata was encrypted (both imei were gone) while rooting my device in PE rom.
I did try a lot, like for 4-6 days but eventually ended up doing this:
I gone to mi care center, and before going I already had locked my bootloader so they could not understand that I have done something which will void my warranty also I closed my developer options. Basically I told them this crap has happened with me while updating to miui12 by normal method and asked for help. They kept my device for about 4-5 hrs and my all nvram nvdata was restored.
(Please don't go for flashing eng rom method it will erase your 2nd sim imei permanently.)
I hope this would help, just give it a try and thank me later

Question No Network Service after latest software update

Hello! I updated my phone to MIUI Global 13.0.7 Stable (SKHINXM) and suddenly my phone has no service. The sim card is fine and working on other phones like it was before the update. Really unable to fix this issue. If it helps, in the testing window the 'Mobile Radio Power' is toggled off and however many times I try to switch it on, it automatically switches off. Please help! Thanks

Okay thank you! Will try it in a few days time once I am able to give it the time needed.
It is happening to me too, I'm on stock 13.0.4 SKHMIXM, bootloader locked, it happened in 13.0.3 too. Sometimes, I see I have no services, no data, no GPS. But WiFi works great, so if I'm in house I don't always see it, but it means I cannot receive call!!!
I tried to enable/disable sim/data/location/airplane/etc nothing works.
Only way to re-make it works is to reboot the phone, and after 2 or 3 weeks it will happen again, this is the price to pay to have cheap chinese phone...
Try booting into Android with Safe Mode. (and disable Airplane Mode if enabled)
Power + Volume Up > Safe Mode
Or try this:
Settings > Updater > Tap on the "13" several times, this will enable additional Updater-features. Download the latest package and install it.
My guess is that your update may have been corrupt.
Other than that.. Factory Reset or connecting phone to PC and flashing ROM using Fastboot & Mi Flash or Terminal.
I've 13.0.7 and everything's flawless.
So the Xiaomi service center told me that it is possibly a motherboard issue. How can a software update suddenly awaken a hardware issue?
So I had not unlocked my bootloader via my Mi account and it needs mobile data for the same and hence I am unable to flash it since my network is still unavailable even after a factory reset. Any other way I can flash my phone with an older version of MIUI or I will have to submit my phone to the service center?

Same issue i am facing after MIUI updation for 13.0.3.0 SJCINXM ... suddenly all networks are vanished ... if i do manual search for networks then i get a message 'Couldn't search for mobile networks' . Voice call is only possible if wifi is enabled.. This is really a horrible experience and i am unable to find out a way to get rid of this situation.. I am using Redmi 9 Prime handset .. Before this update everything was surperb and flawless.
It is still happening with the latest Android 13 and MIUI14, it's frustrating... sometimes when the phone switch wifi/lte/wifi/lte/etc when you go outside, the modem crashes, it internally bootloop and the phone becomes warm and can lose 25% battery in like 15 minutes. Only way is to reboot the phone.
I had a similar problem. Were you able to solve it?

Question No Network Connection (RIL Dead)

Hello everyone. I have a realme GT Master Edition (RMX3360).
The problem I am facing is that, SIM network does not work. SIM is recognised but it won't connect to any network, so basically I cannot use the SIM card even though the phone knows what SIM is this.
I did try:
Factory reset.
Use Force LTE app to access phone information and switch bands (I noticed radio toggle is switched off, I tried turning it on but it won't).
Unlock bootloader, just to increase my chances.
Flash only modem/hlos/... related partitions. Did not work (phone bricked).
Flash OFP firmware. Did not work.
Flash EDL firmware (C.09), which I am currently using. Still same problem.
Different SIM cards.
My IMEI is fine, it is recognised. My baseband version is 4. I did search for the issue in realme community, and it seems quite popular as a lot of people suffer from the same issue on different models.
I live in Sudan, we got no 5G, no VoLTE or whatever. Could you help me please?
I have similar problem after reboot .I can't connect to network or it tooks long time . What helps me is switching to airplane mode.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did install RMX3363 EU ROM from EDL, it booted fine but the phone still won't connect to any SIM network.
I will also try Russia ROM to see if it would make any difference.
Update:
I did flash Russian ROM from EDL, still does not work. Modem version is also still 4. I will try Chinese ROM next.
Try Latam version this what they put in middle east but so far i think its hardware issue did u try the sim card on another phone? Did you try another sim provider on your phone ? Sometimes if the sim card too old it wont work

That LATAM version is 18 Gigabytes haha. It'd take a few days to download.
I came to think it might be related to modem images as it showed the same version repeatedly on both RUI 2 & 3. So I'll try different modem images.
Also I'll try custom ROMs and GSIs. If it failed I'll return the device as a very last resort.
Update:
I tried latest Official ProjectElixir till date, still same problem.
Update 2:
I gave up the device and replaced it with another one under warranty. I will not buy another realme phone anytime soon.

I have a Xiaomi device too. The new virtual proximity sensor depends on hand movement to function. I don't use MIUI, but it is very fine at all situations.
Also I got a (256/8) GT Master replacement which is surprisingly working fine; being the same RMX3360.

It was already updated to F.03, I heard there was screen flickering or something but I didn't notice any so far.
But I did notice the battery was draining fast on mobile data. Really fast.
Besides, I can always lean on post-market development.
