I think the ViperFX module for Magisk will, but I don't know how well it plays with Android 12/13

I tried the LineageOS recording app that is included in the ROM, and it creates a file, but it does not seem to record anything or the volume is so low I cannot hear it. It may be that the microphone is not ready yet in this ROM like the camera?

Anyone else has issues with Plex and Netflix? For Netflix, after a few minutes, I get an error message ("Device failure occured. please restart your device and try again (501.-172). For Plex, I get stuck on the logo and nothing else happens...
@michie: have you included your h264 patch in this rom?
Edit: decided to try a good old reboot. Plex got a little further (log in screen) but hangs after that. Still same problem with Netflix...

I will check this today

New build up!
Fixed slow boot. Can someone test Netflix etc?
Thanks!

I could not test the Netflix and Plex, but the slow boot is fixed.
I like to turn off all animations, and the response is incredibly fast.
Youtube seems to work really well.
It is hard to believe this device is so old, and yet still so good using this ROM!
I still cannot get the Lineage recorder app to record any audio though.
Thanks very much for this ROM!

I tested Firefox (with Ublock Origin as the only add-on), and Gmail, and they worked fine for me.
The Playstore worked fine for me too. I did not install Magisk.

Update:
I was able to pair an HP Bluetooth keyboard and a bluetooth external speaker with no problems!

Hi everyone,
first of all I want to thank the developers for extending the life of our device.
I have a problem with slow performance for about 5 minutes after being idle.
I have a suspicion of a faulty eMMC memory chip.
Can someone test the write speed of the memory? I want to compare the speeds.

Thank you so much! You are amazing!!
Plex now works like a charm! However, Netflix now gives me this error message "This app is not compatible with your device. You can download a compatible version from the Netflix website". I downloaded the app from Aurora Store (just like I did for Arrow 13.0 or Lineage 19.0). Any ideas?

Official CM13 support for the Verizon M9? I was already really tempted to drive a few hours to someone for S-OFF. Now I'm really, REALLY tempted. Thanks for this, @Flyhalf205!
That is real nice of you to post this now that my bracket is garbage ?
How is this running so far?

Just installed it. Really smooth so far. It has the typical thing were the 3g network is displayed as 3107. So, if I am on a nightly build, how would I perform updates to the ROM. Dirty flash or install the recovery from cyanogen?
Great job.
ROM is running very smooth.

Should be easy fix for next weekend to work on. If you use the built in cm updater it does everything for you. Manual flashing just dirty flash and wipe cache.

Anyone know if the Ir blaster is working yet? I haven't tried cyanogen or candy in about a month and I couldn't get it working even after setting selinux to permissive. That was the fix I used to use for cm12. I think that's the only deal-breaker for me right now.
Hey, installed cm on my m9 two nights ago, really like it so far. I did get a sleep of death twice last night though, thought you should know.

Yes!! Finally thank you @arvinquilao will test it now. Does this require new Gapps 7.0 or something?
I can' t get past the setup wizard, I flashed Gapps 7.0 (32-bit??) and after the "Turn on cellular data" page it goes next to where you log-in using your google account, I then get the "Google Play Services keeps stopping".

using this as my daily driver. pretty good so far!
Hi there!
First of all, thank you so much for your work!
But mobile data isn't working(at least for me). In the settings app, I always get the notification(screenshot attached to this post) that my data is turned off even if it's not. Once this is fixed, it'll work just fine as a daily driver.
Greetings!
EDIT: nvm, I just saw that my SIM wasn't set to use data automatically like it does with other ROMs. Sorry for bothering you.
can anyone please outline here the step by step procedure on how to root the CM android one g1? is there a root toolkit for the android one g1?
thank you.

And the ROM works great, aside from 720p60 (haven't tried 720p yet) playback in YouTube which is freezing.
All in, it's a very stable.

From one huge accomplishment (LOS 13) to the next!
Once again, thanks for all the work you and your team put in this!
If/Once calls, SMS, network, wifi work fine (those are my essentials because that's my one and only device), I could as well flash this (instead of LOS 13) and help with logs and testing if that would help.
Tiny correction for OP, device number is missing a "3" (i9301I) just to avoid confusions...
Ill give camera fix a try. :b

So, Bluetooth being the main difference from LOS 13? Nice! I'm going to fully charge it and flash.
Edit:
1st try: Setup Wizard keeps stoping just after Google Services page when I press "NEXT" to begin looking for updates. Will try reflashing and update.

Weird, I had no such issue and I did use WiFi during setup. I only had the open gapps issue (setup wizard was crashing). Did you experience that issue with Beans Gapps btw?
For me up to now the overall experience is OK.
I can confirm known bugs though. (Bluetooth, camera, flashlight, red borders flickering).
Also, I tried to take some logs and the logcat seems way more active than usual, is that due to the Bluetooth failing over and over?

Awesome! Gonna try this out. Does would re-enabling the h264 plugin make Plex play back smoothly? I don't use video in-browser really but do stream with Plex app a lot, and the tablet couldn't handle 1080p video while on pixel experience
Thanks @michie. Great built! I installed it 2 weeks ago and everything works well. Much faster than LOS!

I will create a flashable addon to re-enable the codec. Will post it together with the august security patch!
Uploaded a new build with UI performance improvements, fixed led bar behavior etc. No new security patch out yet yesterday and as Android 13 is uploaded AOSP this will be the next build I will be working on. Will post a flashable zip for enabling H264 decoder this evening.

Once more, thank you! I installed that new build without any problems and the UI does seem more responsive. I would recommend it to everyone looking to bring their Pixel C into the 2020s and benefit all the goodies that 12L offers! awesome work!
Looking forward to that H264 patch and your upcoming Android 13 build!
I've been using this ROM for a while now, works pretty well, seems to be running a lot better than the Pixel Experience ROM I was running previously. Quick question, I know Gboard now supports a split layout, but only on foldables/allowed devices... is there any way to enable that in this ROM? I've tried Googling around for instructions on how to enable it, but haven't had any luck.

Have you tried SwiftKey Keyboard? It has a split layout mode..
Smooth AF so far, flashed and it's neat. Need to restore my apps now.
I'm going to give this a try. Also looking forward to the h264 patch. I use Plex more than browser video.

Same!
Hi there @michie! Just found out about this ROM this evening. Can't wait to install this and take it for a test drive!!
It's been a while since I stepped away from all things Android Rooting / Custom ROMs and etc. That said:
- What's the status as far as running root on this Pixel C as well as running Magisk? Does this ROM already come with Root privs?
My Bootloader is currently unlocked, so not sure how that helps/hurts things.
Thank you!
13 is a pain in the ass, it needs alot of hacks to make it work on our device. Almost got it booting
I only build vanilla roms, no root, magisk, ... I don't use it so maybe someone else can answer your question if it works on the rom or not
Aah ok, sounds good @michie!!! Since you mainly do Vanilla ROMs, let me ask this other question then (perhaps I don't really need root):
There are a few apps/games on the Google Play Store where it doesn't allow me to download/install on the Pixel C for some dumb reason.
To bypass this, I'll either extract the .apk from another device and then transfer to the Pixel C and install that way, or I'll use the Aurora store or something similar and download that way (it has some level of device spoofing built-in).
But then for some games, when they load, I'll get a message like "This Operating System is not supported" or some similar nonsense.
Curious if you have any recommendations or methods that might help with this?
Thank you!
BJ

I'm curious: You don't use it because you only use your Pixel C to create/test custom ROMs (which is fine by me) or it's because you use another ROM?
Have been using it for a few months now. A few kinks here and there but overall, awesome build!

I have 2 Pixel C's. One for development and one for basic browsing / smart home controle so no need to root the device
I'm thinking of just refining and fixing stuff on 12.1. 13 is too high maintenance to get it running and updated.

I wouldn't complain about either. Is 13 a big change architecturally? 12.1 honestly feels really good on arrowos, even games run better than pixel experience tbh.
Building now, will also upload the patch when finished. Sorry for the delay!

First of all, you're doing a great job - keep it up.
There is something essential that doesn't work.
I cannot add an account, like my google account.
If that can't be fixed, I need to go back to the previous version.

Which gapps package did you installed? I've tried MindTheGapps and was able to add a google account.
Sorry for the late reply, after installing mindthegapps via sideload I was able to add my google account. Unfortunately my apps weren't installed automatically, like in the stock rom. Now I have an old known bug with the microphone when calling via dialer. Cell phone directly on ear works great, but if I switch to loud speaker, the opposite person doesn't hear me. That is a problem in LineageOS since version with Android 10.

I don't have such problems. Maybe one of your microphones is damaged. Nothing new to sony devices.
No, it is not damaged - it's working normaly with stock rom.

Try using the second sim slot (IMEI 2) and reply if you experience the same issue.
Thank you for your advice but I went back to stock rom now - no such problems so far.
Hello dtrunk90, does this rom have dynamic vibration function?

No, that's a proprietary sony thing and I don't want to put more proprietary blobs into the rom than necessary because it might break with future bringups.
Does this rom have sony stock camera ?

New build from today uploaded
Hi.
Just upgraded to 20.0 beta yesterday. Seems "Wallpaper & style" and work on my ZX2P. It will close automatically without any error message.
Is it a known bug in this version?
Thanks.

Oh. Maybe I know the root cause.
I'm using wallpaper engine to set a video as my wallpaper before upgrade. After I use gallery app to set a picture as my new wallpaper to replace that video, problem resolve.
And I use wallpaper engine to make that video as wallpaper again, everything looks great.
Sorry to bother you.
First official build will be available tomorrow! I've already updated this thread so I don't have to do it later.
Hello , someone have problem with microphone while the call on speaker ?
