Question Camera for A32 Macro Lense? - Samsung Galaxy A32 4G

Dear Experts,
I have a Samsung A32
running the stock Android that came with it.
Model name: SM-A325M/DS
I'm told this is the 4G model (not 5G)
What I like about this phone is the macro lense.
q1:
Other than the stock camera app, is there a camera app
that can switch to, and control the camera lense?
q2:
Is is possible to convert the A32 to Lineage?
If so, where are the links to the instructions, and files?
Thanks

q1: with the open camera (an app)
Q2 with a lineageos gsi

q1:
Sorry, I should have said,
is there a camera app that can switch to, and
control the MACRO lense?
I see no such functionality in Open Camera
q2:
Where are links for lineageos gsi?
Thanks

Q1: Try FreeDCam. Although currently it's a bit glitchy (crashes when trying to set ISO manually - will be fixed in the next release).
Q2: Here is the list of all the GSIs, and here is the LineageOS. To install you can either use my script (Linux or WSL) or the TWRP + ChonDoe flasher combination (I did not try the latter myself). Both methods will require wiping all your apps and data, of course (except for the SDCard).

I'll check out FreeDcam
Eventually, I'll get to the A32
Thanks a lot!

I present you a resolution mod :>
FAQ:
Won't my device go boom? Not likely. I mean, I don't want to help fixing placebo bricks Just reflash your current ROM, that's it.
How to even use this? ??? Use your root file manager and replace the current one with mine in /system/vendor/lib/. Set 0644/rwrr permissions for the file. And better backup the original one, as I won't download a system dump to send you that ;_;
So it means that it's not flashable? Exactly! I had no time for this currently :>
EDIT: Now provided as Magisk module only. Unpacking and replacing still works.
The current state for mi_a1_4096cam_module_v2.zip:
- adds 4096x3072 photo resolution (12.6 MPx)
- possibly works on Mi 5X too
- wider FOV (field of view) should be visible
- does not replace the standard 4000x3000
- Snapdragon Camera and Snap (Lineage-default) may not detect it (Qualcomm aimed at their direct resolutions only)
- MIUI camera should detect instantly
- some apps may need to be data-cleared to detect
The current state for mi_a1_4096cam_module_v3.zip:
- based on Oreo
- adds 4096x3072 photo resolution (12.6 MPx)

Sadly, no better reading capabilities for users, but only a new, not cropped camera resolution.

Such a type of mod is much more complicated, but maybe in the future. Now you can try some ported camera apps. https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/themes/app-collection-camera-modded-t3591177 - from there, for example.
Thank you page..
i already used very many app,,,
but all app manual mode is max exposure time 1/8 ,,,

Bro this is not working on latest build 8.1.1.0 of oreo 8.0. Magisk and everything latest. It gave me bootloop.
Edit:Actually on second boot it works. I just realised that in oreo latest sometimes device fails to boot.
Can't install, what could possibly be the problem? I'm actually running magisk 15.3

In order to use the excellent Google Camera features ( HDR+ and etc.) you need to have Camera2 API Enabled, to do that you need root.
Otherwise you can just install some basic google camera with sub-optimal performance.
Does front camera HDR+ and portrait mode work?
I remember my Redmi 5 plus worked in portrait mode but no front cam HDR+
But now my phone is bricked, so I can't test it

Noup, i tried every GCam apk under the sun. No luck.
I can live with that but main reason i keep my stock camera around is because the front flash doesn't work on GCam...

yes, but you should turn off hdr mode in portrait mode
There are 2 versions here. If you use the first version, you will use the portrait mode normally. If you use the second version, during use you must turn off the hdr mode in portrait mode
I just checked it thoroughly. The first version is compatible with all roms. The second version is compatible with MIUI
I have no idea why, but Arnova V2 crashes a lot. I'm using latest EU stable rom.

GCamera_Mod_v.5.1.23_R5Plus_fix_crash - I use it for Front Camera | Everything works, requires good config, flash works, no night-sight.
GoogleCamera_5.2.025-Final_fu24-18 - I use It for certain conditions not always so It's not recommended but It's ok to have it!!
MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova-based_v.1.4a_TlnNeun - It's the best GCAM for Vince, Night Sight, HDR+ Enhanced, Portrait on People,
Requires Good Config, has 5 Libraries in order from Google to Xtreme!

[How to] Install fully functional Google Camera! (No port needed) (Exynos + CustomOS)

This is a simple tutorial for those on there who really want a fully functional Google Camera without needing to install a ported version or buggy version just to get away from the glitchy green flickering while recording video or who want a slight increase in quality and usability. It's simple, to begin all you will need are the following to get started.
1. Official TWRP Recovery installed and functional.
2. A LineageOS based ROM to install (E.g. LineageOS, Resurrection Remix, etc).
3. A specific GApps package is required for this step. Navigate to here: https://opengapps.org and make sure you have selected "ARM64" for "Platform". Now select your Android version and make sure you select Stock GApps package and above (Very Important!) (Optional: Aroma Package can also be used but was avoided in this tutorial.) The reason I asked you to install the stock package and above is because the stock default camera (AOSP Camera) is replaced with the Google Camera upon GApps install.
(Recommendation: If you prefer a pixel like device like I do with all stock AOSP based apps replaced with Google apps then install the "Super" GApps from opengapps.org).
4. Backup any important data before proceeding.
5. Wipe the appropriate partitions in TWRP.
6. Flash your ROM of choice + GApps.
7. Done!
I know that most advanced users already knew this was possible I just thought I would create this for the non-technical savvy folk. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy your new Google Camera!

For people like me that don't like the stock AOSP apps like the camera, and prefer Google apps? I thought that much was obvious.

Sorry, didn't want to say anything wrong, but losing ability to shoot in 4k 60fps and all other video modes, ability to use second camera for 9+ users.. All of this for NOT- fully working Google camera? Sorry, but this doesn't sound practical. Plus, that old version can be easily installed on any device.
The main problem is the misleading thread title. All users would expect fully working Google camera with the most important feature - HDR+.

agreed. I actually am not a fan of Google camera UI and only use it for HDR+ (it's the best) and have been waiting for a functional port as well.

Yes, you can get Gcam to work on your device by using these steps, If you don't wanna root your device.
Though rooting your device will make the process 5x easier, it's up to you. ?
Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
Have a nice day
You have to unlock BL to do:
- Install twrp recovery
- Flash CameraAPI2 enabler zip file
- Install GCam
But if not root, you can't take front HDR+ Enhanced and Portrait.
If you root you can solve front cam problem.
I don't know why you don't want root. If something relate to finance apps, magisk hide will pass easily!

Yes you can, take a look here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/themes/gcam-root-flashing-twrp-t3813230
Yeah you can do it but you need to unlock your bootloader at least if not root ...if you unlock your bootloader then you can temporarily boot twrp and by using you can enable camera 2 api and thus, install gcam
You can use ADB on MIUI to enable Camera2 API, which works without root.

Question Are camera Apps limiting custom ROMs?

Hello everybody!
I have downloaded and installed Lineage OS on my Poco F3.
It's a great device but there are some software problems that really bugs me (proximity sensor is a mess, some GUI element are not good for usability, the "everything you need, nothing you don't" thing and then the phone is full of useless apps that i don't need...)
Lineage OS solved all of my problems except for one: the camera.
I'm realizing that there is no real alternative for the native camera app because it offers you the full potential of the hardware with all the features.
Don't get me wrong: i tried Open Camera, GCam Port and other popular apps.
Really good projects but there is always something missing or not working.
In addition on Lineage some camera apps are just not available on the Play Store (for example Footej Camera... using another store, dumping the APK from another device... all useless... the app will recognize my device as not compatible).
Why is that?
Lastly i even tried to install the stock APK on Lineage without success.
What is your opinion on that?
What are the software limitations involved?
Is this a limiting factor for you?
What camera app do you use?
Best regards.
I'm not someone who uses camera that much but I can tell you that I totally agree with people who think that native camera is the best. I use Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and there is no alternative to camera which comes originally. That's one of the reasons why I tend to use ROMs with camera very close to stock one or even the same like stock one.
Lineage is known to cripple cameras.
you sound pretty knowledgeable, so i'm probably not offering much here... but, ANXCamera (miui camera port) is being worked on for our device, as far as i can tell... the following is copied from T.Gram... may show promise later on, but for now it's not fully functional
How get ANX working (partially)—
1. Download the MiUI Core from here (MOD EDIT: Link Removed)
2. Download the latest ANX (full version modded for R) from here (https://camera.aeonax.com/)
3. Flash the MiUI Core and ANX Zip through Magisk
4. Reboot
5. Paste the device-feature XMLs (MOD EDIT: Link Removed) in–
/storage/.ANXCamera/features/
6. Download ANXCamera Pro (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aeonax.camerapro) from the Play Store and use it to enable all the desired features in ANX.
What doesn't work for now:
UW, Macro and 48MP
