General I can't stand the CTDI repair team of OnePlus anymore - OnePlus 11

I mailed to the CTDI service center in Europe for unlocking the CN version of OnePlus 11 region lock issue a week ago, today I received my phone, but I tried to insert the sim card again, I still received the warning of region lock from the system and could not enable the 5G signal from the Italian SIm card (5g signal at boot up, back down to 4g after a few seconds), the Chinese sim card was not affected affected and able to use the 5G signal from Vodafone. So, did their service center really have unlocked for me? And they don't want to deal with any other problems except unlocking the area, do they only learn to clear the data of customers' phones forever? Wasted a week of my waiting for nothing!

Oneplus's way of working is terrible. They didn't give any warning before launching the product . oneplus 11 will be the last phone i use of oneplus + oppo

Whats the issue you put down of you repair request besides call disabled? Dis you have color os or oos when you shipped your phone to them? I am shocked actually that even the lock issue is not addressed

There is also a hot issue, which has been confirmed by OPPO. It is a software problem from Qualcomm, but I also asked the service center to check it, but they were unwilling. It was COS when I sent it to them, and they were unwilling to do anything more, even, what was the problem with my phone when it was sent, and they returned it to me as another phone with the same problem, except for factory reset .

It's normal because oneplus is managed by oppo.
you buy the phone that is not a zone in the country of sale This problem is affecting all over the world, the only way is to have a website to pay for unlocking. The price is not very high. In other cases, you have to contact the service center. With an official receipt, if you don't have it, you can't do anything.

I can't complain about their service. They have fixed sim lock for me, communication with them looked exactly the same, but I can use now Polish and German sim cards. Call them or write email, they seems to be very supportive (at least for me). I have also asked about installing Oxygen OS on my OP11 16GB/512GB but they have said that OP did not allow them to do and OP also added that they should not fix such a phones (for China market), because it is against their policy. So yeah hopefully this OP11 will be as good as my old OP7Pro
and one last word: **** you OPPO I was OP fan but this is my last unit, let us see what will be more worthy for them: having stupid policies or loosing core fans.

I have an official receipt and like I said, I sent the official receipt to CDTI along with the phone, but strangely today they replied to my email that they don't have the right tools as well as software to unlock it. Also I contacted OnePlus and they told me to send it to CDTI again, I am speechless.

hmmm maybe those ****ers from OPPO have forbidden them to repair this problem? Maybe they have noticed that so many persons reported this already in EU and now they have decided to stop unlocking CN phones in EU?
For sure CDTI has all tools to unlock this sim region lock, but maybe OPPO stopped allowing them to use it?
In the email from CDTI to me, it was mentioned that my phone was first CN OP11 which they have encountered so far. Maybe I was lucky that they helped me but later they have updated their policies?? Only God knows what is happening there...

Probably not, I can speak Chinese, I contacted OPPO customer service in CN directly, and their senior account manager told me that they didn't do that. As for why CDTI said this, I am waiting for an email reply from Italy OnePlus customer service.

The higher-ups at One Plus Italy contacted an authorized repair center near my location for me, and they told me to send my device there, which I had already done, left my One Plus 11 with them, and told me they would have it fixed with in two days.

Yesterday One Plus contacted a service center very close to me for me (and obviously the assistance of OPPO in China, which should have contacted the top management of One Plus Europe) and today my phone is unlocked, but the SIM card problem does not work with 5G is still under investigation by them, but I suspect that the One Plus 11 is not in the operator's (TIM) 5G device white list.

So Oneplus just emailed you or they called you? I've been kept waiting for over a week, nothing happened. Tried oneplus france, oneplus CN, oppo CN, etc. No actual help was offered by anyone. Just be able to create the repair request yesterday, before it just kept saying my imei is under another existing process.

If you have an official proof of purchase and speak Chinese, I suggest trying to call China oppo at 00861095018 and then try to transfer to a human and they will help you contact the European one plus executives. If not, I suggest you contact the European one plus directly by calling them directly and asking them to arrange a professional to call you back, because using email is so inefficient that many times they will only get back to you the next day.

Newton ring? Will HTC repair?

I noticed the other day my TP2 is displaying that weird hazy rainbow effect on the screen. I have read about it and it’s (possibly wrongly) referred to as a Newton ring. It seems to be linked to overheating (e.g. charging whilst in use).
I have a screen protector on and it is less visible with this installed but is still very noticeable under certain lighting. I bought the phone of ebay in July 09 and am in the UK.
I have a custom rom on so will need to put stock SPL etc back on but are HTC likely to repair this under warranty? There seem to be mixed results out there.
This has put me off getting a HD2. My contract ends in less than 2 months and I was going to sell my TP2 and get a HD2 but have ready bad things about service with regards to stuff like this.
Bad times
I had the problem 2 weeks ago. Brought it back to the store, they sent it in for repair and I got it back after exactly 7 days.
Repair was free under warranty.
As far as i am concerned -> HTC service rules !
BTW, I am from Belgium
That sounds promising.
Did you have a cooked ROM on your phone? If so did you revert to stock SPL?
My TP2 is a Vodafone branded model but I use an o2 sim in it.
If I took it to a Vodafone store would they be likely to help? Or am I going to have to contact HTC directly?

No, I had a stock Rom with manilla 2.1. While in repair they flashed the new dutch rom with manilla 2.5 (this one is not on the htc website).
I think you better revert to stock SPL and email directly to HTC for support. In Belgium they come collect the phone at your home (or work) and bring it back within one week.. (in my case the store took care of this part)
BTW I have a simlock free version...
I hope UK service is as good as Belgian service...

thats cool, they come pick it up.
Over here (in texas) i can either mail it out, or drive 30-45 min to the device support center where if they do find an issue, they replace it on the spot but sadly with a refurbished unit which usually give me more issues then the previous device

no they wouldn't
just been on phone to htc. at first lady didn't know what i was on about. she went away to check and came back saying a newton ring would generally be a warranty repair. phone being picked up by ups this friday. if all goes well then cant fault htc customer service. even while typing this message light has flashed which will prob be email with ups details.
good times.
Mine has just suddenly developed this problem too I'm waiting to hear back from HTC UK via e-mail now.
I wonder if this is a manufacturing fault and most TP2s of this age are now failing with this? There seems to be a lot about suddenly!
EDIT: Ok, just got off the phone to HTC and it's being picked up tomorrow for service at Milton Keynes - anyone know how long it usually takes the UK service centre to return your phone, I forgot to ask
Also, I need to flash a stock ROM and hard SPL but I've noticed there's 3 different stock SPLs - which one are you going for, Dexter_Morgan?

good pic. it's well messed up.
I think i was going to go for the 0.84 spl. It would be useful to know what they shipped with and if HTC could tell if you had the wrong spl on.
On another note the lady from htc called me back saying my phone would be locked to vodafone when returned. It was never Sim locked in the first case I explained. You could buy phone only from vodafone without contract.
I hope this isn't the case as I use an o2 sim. I will be very anoyed if this is the case.
Are they easy to sim unlock?
edit: Bloody email asks for proof of purchase. Surely the phone would still be covered by htc if bought of ebay. is this true?

Yeah, that's what is worrying me, I don't know what SPL version it had in the first place and if they'll notice if it's different... Mine was bought on a T-Mobile contract but is unlocked and unbranded so I hope they don't lock it to T-Mobile! I reckon they're easy enough to unlock though. And yeah, it should still be covered as they've been selling them less than 12 months which is how long the warranty is - I can't find mine either!

Mine is Vodafone branded (I'm on Vodafone) and was sim unlocked when I bought it, as was the replacement that I got from them when mine got the 'rings', so I don't know why HTC would lock it
Unfortunately I don't know what SPL mine had when I got it.
HTC might try and say that your contract is with the person that you got it from, which is nonsense really as you have a 12 months manufacturer's warranty
I'm just going to phone them tomorrow and say I have lost the receipt but that the phone is less than 1 year old so it is irrelevant.
I hope it works or the imminent (I’ve got approx 1-2 months left on my o2 contract) HD2 purchase will go out the window.
I currently have the same problem with my Fuze and AT&T refused to replace it saying it was physical damage...

Has your phone been repaired? Mine has, under warranty, and will be here tomorrow.
im curious about this, maybe we should have a little investigation.
Can you folks who experience the problem states the condition of the phone? like when you bought it, where, what region, touch pro 2 or tilt 2 etc.
Also how you handle the device, like whether you put it in a tight jeans pocket, use a magnetic 3rd party case, or even using the leather case that we have from htc. Maybe we can draw a bit of conflusion about how this thing occurs.

On the ticket number HTC gave today it lists it as being repaired. For Mon and Tue it had a waitng for payment button which was a bit worrying but it didn't link to anything where I had to pay.
I'm assuming if it's being repaired with no contact then it is a warranty job. It would be great if I got it back tomorrow but not likely.
Yeah my touch pro 2 got the same problem but there's a little difference on mine:
You can only see these newton rings or better explained die two foils from the touchscreen sticking together when there had been a bit pressure on the screen (e.g. after carrying the phone in the original leather case in my pocket). Leaving the phone on the table for half an hour will cure the screen problem. Also no influence on the touchscreen funktionality.
But if I go to the store pulling it out of my pocket with visible damage and they send it in to get it repaired there will be no more visible damage.
I have this problem for maybe a month or so but it didn't get worse but in the right light you can see there are little dots between the two foils of the touchscreen and where the newton rings appear these dots are some kind of pressed flat now.
So there will never be the right amount of space between the foils.
I don't want to wait till the touchscreen isn't working any longer until I can send it in, but I don't think they will repair it until there is a remaining visible damage.
These HTC resistive touchscreens suck!

[HELP] unlock alcatel idol 4s T-Mobile

Hi.
Someone will know how to unlock Alcatel idol 4s Windows from T-mobile?
I not have T-Mobile Account. i do not live in US. I called T-Mobile but they ask for an account to be able to unlock this cellphone.
Can it be unlocked through a service or Software?
Thanks and Regards!
There are sim unlocking/network unlocking services. I am aware of a good one for Lumias, but have not had luck on the IDOL4s yet. Maybe someone can give a suggestion of a valid one they used more recently...

Yes, I have contacted several services but none to result, one that you recommend me?
I have only tried one that says they will do it, but it resulted in no service provided thus far. I have since put in a dispute/claim with paypal. The order still says in progress when I check the site. It has been that way since 5/28. So maybe their turnaround is much longer than what is advertised. No communication from them at all too. So at this point I have not one to recommend.

I do not use T-Mobile service, much like your self. I had a situation where Alcatel in an attempt to replace my last Idol 4s mailed me the T-Mobile locked model instead of what I sent in which was the unlocked model. The only site I found when looking for a whole day was simunlock.com, they say they support unlocking it and let you fill the form out on the site with the information required.

Yes, the site seems false, if there are more sites like unlockonline, anyway, in every site that asks me the provider id, but neither the device nor the box appear. Thanks
The provider ID is on the sticker that was on the back of the phone.

When I bought the phone I did not have the sticker. I found a page where you enter the imei and it shows the model, the brand and the provider id. I do not know exactly if the provider ID that shows is the correct one, in your case could you give me an example of the provider id of your alcatel? Since as I tell you, mine does not bring the sticker
@rjcs123
This was the provider ID on the sticker for the T-Mobile variant Alcatel mistakenly sent me. 6071w-2btbus7
@nate0 is the same provider id that throws me the page = 6071W-2BTBUS7-1, model = Alcatel 4S Pro TMO

Are you making progress?
Someone on Windows Central sent me a message on a work around way they used to unlock this model. Below I summarized it.
A workaround for the unlock code:
A for sure way is to have T-Mobile to unlock it. But you need service with them to get the unlock code while having nothing owed on the phone or account. Call them and ask for the cheapest prepaid plan for one month, so that you can get the unlock code? He ordered a $5.99 sim card with 30 minutes and 30 text messages he used that for a few days so the IMEI can show as active in their database. I will follow up with him to see if he did in fact unlock it already.
UPDATE: Turns out T-Mobile was not telling the truth and needed more from his account then they lead on. So he canceled that method. T-Mobile did however share a unlocking site for him to consider, which is strange. But I guess they were doing what they could to provide customer satisfaction.
I'm also interested in finding a way to unlock my Alcatel 4S Windows. I sent my unlocked phone in for earpiece repairs and they sent it back to me SIM locked with a new IMEI. I have no clue why such a repair requires a new IMEI and relocking back to TMO (the device is the same, perhaps system board change?). I even left a note that the phone is unlocked and I need it to remain unlocked after the repairs. Now I'm stuck. I'm not with TMO and have no way to unlock it.
My first Alcatel phone and I don't even get to use it.
Tried to get TMobile to provide the code for 2 months before I switched, they repeatedly said it was requested, never received it.
Could not find any vendors that could provide the code.
Contacted Alcatel and they said only Tmobile had the unlock codes.
Gave up and bought a 650, but will most likely switch to iOS when it breaks. Apps are disappearing daily and W10M is god awful slow. Sad really!!!!!

Alcatel has been a pain in the neack honestly...FFU is still broken for the open market model. Probably why they feel they have to send out T-Mobile units not realizing they are locked to the T-Mobile network...lol
UPDATE: after speaking to a few support reps, one finally figured out what happened, that some of us were screwed over getting a phone we can't use. Got a prepaid shipping label and returned it. Now I have a brand new in box open market version with VR headset and everything (I already have one but I'm not complaining). I'm satisfied for now. Just worried the next time the speaker blows and I have to send it in for service again...

Has there been any further progress? I would be interested to know which unlock site TMO recommended. I have tried 3 sites in total and received 2 refunds so far. I was able to get an unlock code using an Android app on another phone, but I just receive the message "incorrect code" when I input on the Idol 4s.

If someone knows, is there possible that one day our sprint locked G8 will unlock like G7 is unlockable via unlock service?

It can only be unlocked though Sprint and possibly some third party websites. Next time don't buy a bad esn phone
I have a bad esn G8 too. I use an electronic chip that goes under the SIM card to unlock my carrier. Phone calls work perfectly but data doesn't.

I got mine from a local dealer. But you can find it online on ebay or many other sites. Just google "unlock sim" for more info. Here's a picture to know what you're looking for:

Thank you for that hope. But could you help us a little more? I just found these adapters specifically for iphones. Would it really be these? Because I could not find any that were said compatible with android devices.

It's true those sims were initially made to unlock iphones, but used to unlock many recent android phones now too. I guess you will have to contact the sellers before buying. I checked my chip but it has no brand name.
Good luck man.

You should look on eBay for an esn / imei unlock service for Sprint. If you want to search more specifically put in for lg too. As long as you're not blacklisted, those services are very cheap and good

Thanks again. I asked several sellers on ebay if their Rsim served to unlock android devices as well, unfortunately none of them told me to be possible or did not have the knowledge. In fact I am in an unfavorable situation, because I live far away from the United States or Europe, I live in Brazil. The only way I have to get good technological products at the best prices that those practiced within my country is by import.
I bought in an auction of ebay an lg v40 with bad esn, hoping it was possible to use it normally in another country, but unfortunately it was not possible. Two years ago I imported an LG V20 blocked by US cellular, according to the announcement, which worked normally in Brazil, but the V40 did not.
I would like to ask a favor of you and anyone who reads and has a chance to make confirmation. If you could test any of these advertised rsim for iphones (Rsim 12,13,14 ou 15), while passing somewhere selling them, just to make sure any of these work also for bad esn or blocked android or just some specific models.
And one more question, do you remember if it was necessary to do some specific configuration or use some unlock code, just when you started using your rsim?

Thanks for your advice! I came to consider this option right when I received the device. From my research I saw that were not yet succeeding in the period 2018 until 2019, and some people saying that it was not possible to remove the locks on the latest Sprint devices, besides that my drive besides blocked has bad esn. But anyway, I appreciate your good intention.
Update: I changed the e-sim today and data worked instantly. Turned out the one I've been using is used to unlock audio calls only. Now my G8 works perfectly.

Ok, thanks for this good news. But... my friend... I need the model name sim, and the place where you bought it. As I said earlier, I live outside the United States and therefore can't buy locally. So I need to know which specific model I can buy. I need the model to search and buy over the Internet, then send to my address in Brazil. It would be very useful if you could post a picture of the product packaging and another of the adapter itself.
I got the new chip from a local dealer. It has no brand or marks what so ever. Actually the dealer separeted the esim from a long ribbon of attached ones and non had any writing on it! And he had 'em from a local service too.
I don't know how to help you guys. But I thought I'd give you hope.

Thank you very much again for your feedback. I understand you're being as helpful as possible. But as I said before, I live outside the United States and I usually get things online, by import, and so I would like to ask you a special favor, you could not buy this e-sim for me (the same as you bought recently) and send to the address of the order redirection company that I use, located in Orlando Florida? I could pay you for the e-sim and the cost of shipping + a bonus for your work and help, via Paypal, or even you could sell on ebay if you prefer. If you can help me again this way, you would be solving my problem and I would be very grateful.

Question Xiaomi not sending code to unlock bootloader ?

I have a Pad 5 256GB Global version and can not get verification code from Xiaomi. When using unlock tool it demands a recovery phone number. When I enter a number for a recovery phone it says sending verification code and that is it. It does not send the code. I've used three different phones from different carriers that all work and receive messages daily, it's not the phones causing issue. I then installed older version of unlock tool that would allow me to log in with email and not demand phone number. When using unlock tool and verifying email the damn thing doesn't send the email. I can log in with my email anywhere else on Xiaomi sites but not there. So, no matter how I try it I can not even log in to use unlock tool. I've been dealing with complete idiots in support that keep wanting me to do the exact same thing over and over again. I say idiots because you can't do the same thing the same way and expect different results, if you do then you ... well, you know rest of that. Has anyone else had issues unlocking this god forsaken thing, and if so, solution ? After a week of this crap I'm about tired of it.
Oh, and get this. If you buy a global version in the U.S. there is no support. If you contact U.S. support so you may be able to understand what they are saying. You can spend 5 1/2 hours in a chat trying to find a solution and then all of a sudden you get this:
"I am sorry Tony but Mi Pads are not yet officially released in US. Please be advised As you have reached Xiaomi US Customer support, we can only cater technical concerns and inquiries of the products posted on our web site www.mi.com/us."
They spent 5 1/2 hours coming up with this
if it's not released in your country then there is not much they can do.

I have what is tagged as global version by everyone and as international version by xiaomi, if you go by country released in then support would only be china wouldn't it ?

No solution other than sent tablet back.
I had this issue. It turned out...you choose the country code...and also add the country code too.
Example. Cyprus mobile.
Choose Cyprus.
Cyprus's dial code is 00357.
My mobile (example...) is 99123456.
So put 35799123456.
This took me a week to work out...but it works. Leave too leading 00...and put you country code and mobile number...leaving any leading zero.
Another example. UK mobile. 0044789123456.
Choose UK...and put 44789123456 as you number.

Question Verizon Carrier Lock

I Searched the forum but could not find an answer. I have been out of the ROM game for a few years. I know what I did was ill advised, please be merciful
I bought a Verizon Pixel 6 Pro off of Facebook. I knew to check that the IMEI was not on the stolen list and verified that it was paid off, but I get en error when I put my Visible Sim card in the phone. It says "Sim card isn't supported. Ask Verizon if this device can be unlocked."

I called Verizon and the rep said that if I wait 60 days from the phone's original activation it should unlock automatically even though I don't have Verizon Service. The Rep said that I could use this device on Verizon Prepaid or regular service, but I have $5 months for referrals on Visible, that I would lose if I switched.
The Rep also said that you can request an unlock since the phone was paid off and IMEI was clear, but that I could not because in their system I was not the phone's owner. They could not tell me the date when the phone was activated because it would be a privacy issue.
I tried to work it out with the person I bought the phone from to get them to request the unlock, but got ghosted.
Questions:
1.) Does anyone know if it is true that my phone will unlock after 60 days without Verizon Service?
2.) If I put the phone on Verizon PrePaid service for 60 days, would that count as service and get it unlocked?
3.) If I activate on Verizon Prepaid or activate on no contract post paid will it take the last owner of the phone off of their "record" at Verizon so I can just request that the carrier lock be removed myself?
Thank you!
PS Once I get this figured out I will post what happened for anyone else that might run into this in the future.
As far as I was aware, all Verizon phones are carrier (erroneously called SIM) unlocked from the start. I've been away from Verizon for 5+ years, though, so that might've changed.
Note that just as has been said multiple times in multiple threads in this section (and every other possible phone section), that carrier unlock won't be the same as bootloader unlock, which will be impossible except by winning some kind of rare bootloader lottery, per se. (effectively never).
It's possible you don't want to unlock the bootloader since you only mention carrier unlocking, but I just wanted to head that part off just in case that's where you end up leading the conversation, so forgive me if I'm mistaken.
Hopefully, someone else with modern experience with Verizon can answer your two specific questions, however.

Having ROM'ed lots of phones years ago, it was my first though to be able to change it by modifying the bootloader and/or firmware. I quickly ruled that out with the search feature before posting. (bummer)
I do appreciate you pointing this out to keep this thread on track. I witnessed some of the other disasters in my searching.
Yeah it’s true Verizon locks their phone for 60 days to their network and then unlocks it automatically. I’m not exactly sure if the device has to be continuously active though to be unlocked but I know that it had to be activated and used on their network to start the timer.
What you can try doing is to use online unlock services like drsim and try to get in unlocked with imei number. It’s not free but it might be worth it if you don’t wanna wait.
Is the 60 day unlock based on network checks? Or is it something really stupid like based on the system DATE? Might be worth trying to set the clock ahead and see if that fixes it.

I'm not sure if its based on network checks or something else. I did try to set the date ahead (2 months and a few days out) and it gave me the same message with the Visible sim card.

Yeah it sucks about the locked bootloader and junk but google won't exchange it for me even though the order say unlocked and I have this.
Because it's past 15 days.
Anyway I had to call vzw like 50 time only to be told 49 times if I don't have an account we can't help you bye. It took 7 hours of calling.
I finally got them to give me a complementary esim to unlock it and now it's ok

That's ridiculous... they don't have a choice, 15 days or not unless you are not saying something relevant to the story.
If you ordered A and they shipped B... they have to fix it. Dispute the charge with your credit card company if needed.

Did you ever figure this out? I bought a used s22+, checked with 4 different Verizon reps and they said they phone is unlocked. But of course I cant use it on another network (have tried on MintMobile which is Tmobile now). It just says "this phone cant be activated on another network"
