Battery life is slightly lower than Project Elixir in my testing, Elixir gave me around 14 hours screen on time and Lineage is giving me 10-11. Overall system smoothness is good though. Have you tried any other ROM?

I tried pixel experience, it was running good however the risk of unlimited pixel storage is not for me, also people heard my mic rattling so thats a problem

Installing it according to instructions provided on the lineage os website results in not being able to boot into recovery.
However, I was able to flash twrp recovery. But flashing lineage OS 20 rom through twrp results in bootloop. Any ideas?
I had the latest MIUI version running before unlocking the bootloader yesterday

It is AOSP based compared to LOS (CM) which the majority of the ROMs posted are.
DU is a great ROM. I found that it lacked some important features that I like, but a very solid ROM.
Yes i tried on Sprint but there was no data...even after entering the apn in

Encryption was not working, even with a full data format prior to flashing.
Any other opinions?
I have been running the weekly and official builds with nebula eas kernel for about 5 weeks or so. I personally feel its the best non-sense based ROM for my usage. It does lack some customisations most others have but makes up for it by being super stable, fast, battery friendly and just works as its supposed to with bull. I use superSU, substratum and A.R.I.S.E audio mod with selinux permissive without dramas.

To reverse the question, can I use it as clean Android without root, passing SafetyNet? Thanks!

It comes WITHOUT root. So you can choose your preffered method or no root at all.
I don't know about safetynet as I am not using android pay or anything that relies on it to pass.
Also I have not had any encryption issues as someone earlier replied

401.4 FW and 3.1.0 TWRP. What kind of encryption issue? I did have once only rebooted into recovery and it asked for the password but I just rebooted in recovery from TWRP and it never happened again.

I've tried several combinations, with older/latest firmware.
Every time, It would ask for the encryption password on bootup.
Even if I haven't set one up.. With data format prior to installing
Anyway, got sick of re-setting apps on my phone, just installed Maximus HD ROM, and that's that ?

I think it was the DU team's decision to close all and not allow any XDA threads. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
No idea why though.

What variant , firmware and TWRP are you using?
Everytime I try that rom..it encrypts itself with an unknown password, and upon restart I'm unable to access my phone

I have had that happen when switching from a sense based ROM to LOS or AOSP and it's a "pita"... Anything that I want to keep gets moved to my SD card before I reboot to recovery.
I read through several threads and tried several possible solutions so I can't remember exactly which one worked.
I am currently on Verizon, official Nougat with the flashed us unlocked "patch", TWRP 3.1.0-1. If you are on Verizon or Sprint you need to patch the image with a missing image that is found in the us unlocked model (there are threads discussing it where you can find the file).

There is a DU Oreo-based build for the HTC 10: https://download.dirtyunicorns.com/?device=pme
For the time being it is under "RC". Downloading now, will report back!
Edit: ROM is very nice and is flying by. Only downside is that camera app is VERY slow... Also, woofer is not working (as expected).
What I like the most is that it is AOSP, i.e. no LineageOS stuff like AudioFX, etc. Customisation features are nice and the experience is close to Pixel with Stock OpenGapps. If the camera app is fixed, then this would be perfect (I believe it will, since this is the first RC release)!
Further notes: Capacitive buttons backlight is off by default (can't find any standard option to turn on, maybe with a kernel tool?) and notification LED does not work either. Don't mind for the capacitive buttons too much, but the LED is a real problem.

Custom ROM Banking Apps

Sorry if this is a n00b question
If I unlock my bootloader and install a custom rom I can still use banking apps so long as its not rooted?? Or will the fact that the bootloader is unlocked stop the banking apps working?
I'm currently stuck on P2a42_S251_171107_ROW and would like to upgrade
Thanks
I'm using LineageOS 15.1 and rooted with Magisk.

Can anyone help me to clarify my questions ( All based on custom ROM )
1. Fast charging will work on custom ROM or not ?
2. Volte & Vilte will work or not ?
3. Custom ROM will damage battery life or not ?
I can only answer your first question, because my operator doesn't offer VoLTE, but according to comments on the custom rom that I'm using (Xtended version 10) it seems to be working. Screen-on time is now over 3hrs and I have 3,5 days to go, last charge was about 3,5 days ago. So the battery lasts over a week in my situation, which is/was a little better than on the stock rom from that day, about 2 years ago.
Fast charging is working on this custom rom, yes
Ow, and OP, I have a custom rom as you can read above , my P2 is rooted, also with Magisk, and no problem at all with my banking app; it doesn't even notice me that I'm on a custom rom.

With Lineage 15.1 and sensible apps/settings/general user behaviour, the standby time is fine. Adding in rooting/tweaking it feels like it is better than before (Android 6).
However, I am still troubleshooting what appears to be 30+% reduced screen-on time and high system process power usage with/without rooting.

But overall I have better sot and also much less lagg.
I'm having 15hours of sot.
Or 9-10hours with light usage.

Best CUSTOM ROM in the history of XDA?

Well hello there my name is San, I've been using P2 from many years I have rooted the device on the next day I bought it. I've used countless number of custom ROMS upto now. As per my experience there no ROM is 100% perfect every Rom has its own bug or problem. I just want to ask the developers or users to suggest me a BEST ROM MADE FOR LENOVO P2 so far upto now (andriod 7 to 10) which doesn't have any bugs or problems and everything is working.

New Oneplus Owner... Where to Start?

Hey everyone, just got my 7T. I've heard great things about Oxygen, and it seems like everything is optimized. I'm just not sure where to go from here. I'm coming from a LeEco LE Pro 3, and the ROM path has been the only option (android 6 was the last official version for that phone, and we have 10 via ROM now). Is there any reason to try a different ROM on this phone? What about different kernels? Is there any good reason to leave stock? I'll definitely root my phone, but I'm not sure about the kernel/ROM changes.
I appreciate your input!

I like Oxygen very much and flashed arters kernel only for better battery life. I tried the custom ROMs too, but battery wasn't that good. If you are happy with Oxy stay on it. If you need some more feature, take a custom rom. It depends always on what you want and what you like.
I've always been an AOSP guy, but OOS on 7T is good. all you customization you need get be added through gravitybox, renovate ICE. Other than always on display, I don't see what aosp can offer on top of OOS. Last I tried, AOSP had some auto brightness and fingerprint issue. with OOS you still have face unlock which AOSP don't. you can also add horizon lights with renovate ICE.
You'll know if you will like OOS or not.
If you plan on going the ROM route, try Omni or Tresk. I'm currently running Tresk and it's excellent! Better battery than OOS, AOD, better theming, and overall cleaner "Google" interface.

Maybe with Stock OOS, but you will definitely get better battery results with OOS + arters kernel. Even idle drain is less with it. This time Oxygen is very hard to beat.
Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to stick to stock for now and try the custom kernel for better battery life.

I have not tried this combination. Too many deal breakers for me with OOS so I jumped quickly.
I advice you to flash OxygenOS Open beta 3. It's a bit more stable for my 7T.
OxygenOS already feels like a custom rom, so I don't really feel the need to flash 3rd party roms.

Flashing steps for OnePlus 7T:
(For the first time installation)
Things you will need:
Payload Dumper
https://t.me/treskmod/190469
Bat file that wipes and flashes to both sides on initial install
https://t.me/treskmod/195379
Current Stable HD65AA Firmware on both sides, it has been reported that BA (EU) firmware has issues with FP.
- local upgrade or flash OOS firmware to side A
- reboot to OOS
- local upgrade or flash OOS firmware to side B
- reboot to bootloader
- dump latest treskmod payload.bin using payload dumper
- place the bat file in your output directory, or wherever you decide to keep images
- run the bat (this will wipe, a wipe is necessary on initial installation coming from OOS, after that, just OTA)
the bat file can be modified to suit any particular need.
- reboot to treskmod and enjoy
- root
- either wait for me to to post a patched boot.img, which you can then "fastboot boot nameofimage.img" in fastboot mode, then patch your own, or just make your own patched boot with magisk manager. (make sure preserve avb and preserve encryption are both checked)
- when taking an OTA, once its finished, don't reboot, and have magisk patch the inactive slot, then reboot.

Best custom rom for Mi A2 lite

2.Which is the fastest, smoothie, well optimised(ram management aslo) custom rom for Mi A2 lite?

I went through several custom ROMs and ended at Android 10 crDroid. Even though most custom ROM devs now switched to Android 11 (R) development, from my experience the R ROMs are still too new and too buggy for daily use. A custom ROM probably won't help you save much battery, but for RAM management, you'll see massive improvements given how terrible it is on stock.

This GCam: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-the_dise/f/dl0/
Remember to enable HAL3 in Settings - System - Camera HAL Switch. Also portrait mode (the blurry background thing) and HDR+ don't work on selfie camera, so you have to disable them before taking selfies. Everything else works well.
Thank you so much
Syberia os
fast system, but it has its own problems as in other custom firmwares. As I understand it, no custom firmware developer is able to fix some bugs due to the fact that some bugs are found on absolutely all firmware for several versions of android in a row.

I used Android 10 crDroid. More than often the bottom navigation bar became unresponsive. Real show stopper for me.
What's the situation now? I realised that the phone is no longer getting security updates which is not great. I haven't flashed custom in years, but I remember it was a bother to get banking apps working. Is it still a problem? What's the most reliable and secure custom out there?

Almost all of the custom ROM available for Mi A2 lite is very stable and bugless. Ram management was never a problem in custom ROMs and battery life provided by customs is very near to stock ROM ( keep in mind the battery is very old).
Banking apps should work fine. But it also depends upon the app itself. You can pass safety net and app requiring only safety net should work fine.

Do you need Magisk for safety net? I remember I had to do that with my old LG G4.
Which of ROMs is best when it comes to security updates?

For some ROMs you don't need magisk and for some you do. Almost all the ROMs for daisy are up-to-date and receive monthly updates.

I know I'm being a pain, but which one, considering my questions, would you recommend?
Thanks

There isn't a "best", your experience will determine which is the best for you. I have tried POSP, arrow, crDroid 7 and all of them are very stable and up-to-date. They differ only in customizations and such. Search what do you want and see the specific features of each ROM.
Battery life and stability cannot be compared across users and different ROMs. You can choose any one of the ROMs, all of then are very good for daily usage.

Have you been able to get Android Auto running on any of those ROM's? I tried a couple of ROM's a year ago but AA never worked except on stock (which is no longer updated as we know).

I've found unofficial LOS 18.1 the most stable. Almost no issues.
