Question Disable headphone jack on A22 / disable headphone mode - Samsung Galaxy A22 4G

Hello, since a while my phone doesn't change back to normal mode and always stays in headphone mode.
I tried everything.
1. Cleaning the port
2. Soft/Hard reset
3. Factory reset
4. Headphone disabling app (works for a few seconds)
But nothing really worked. So I thought I could do something with Magisk/ Root but can't find apps or modules that allow my specific problem.
Another idea would be to somehow get a dual speaker mod but can't find one.
I would really appreciate some help in this matter as I am completely lost on what to do now.
Thanks and greetings

I give in

I have searched the internet high and low - found many threads in many forums about the O2 XDA IIs being stuck on boot screen and wont hard reset and NO, I mean NOT a single solution posted anywhere despite the numbers of people with exactly the same problem as me.
It will enter boot loader mode and will flash with WM5 or 6 but neither have working camera or sound.
I have flashed it with Ship versions of O2 and even T-Mobile roms but both freeze at the boot screen and wont do anything else, pressing the usual buttons to get it to hard reset don't work.
So unless anyone can help me either restore the factory rom and solve the frozen boot screen or fix the sound / camera I am going to smash it to little pieces and throw it in the bin.

Don't do that, tell me the cost and post it to me. I can use the spare parts.
Seriously, what have you tried so far? (I missed the earlier posts).
Are you getting stuck at the four colour boot screen, or at the WM splash screen?
Thanks for the reply Jdc - lol - for a second I thought you were serious about the parts.
I have tried sooo much with this thing I cant remember what I haven't tried now. But to recap when I first got the Xda IIs it was locked to O2 and stuck on the boot screen with the O2 logo and the red writing in bottom left corner showing rom version. Nothing seems to shift from this state, no reset hard or soft makes any difference - take out the battery and when put back in and powered up sticks at the boot screen.
However - I can get it into bootloader mode and merrily flash WM5 or 6 which appear to work perfectly but there is no sound whatsoever and the camera says it fails to initialize the hardware please reset.
I then reflashed it with an O2 stock Ship rom - presumably WM2003 and it is exactly as it was at the start - stuck on the boot screen showing the O2 logo and rom versions.
I even tried a T-Mobile ship rom of the same version and it stuck on the T mobile boot screen.
Arrrgh!!!! I am at my wits end with it - maybe it is faulty somehow and this is not a software fault - I wish there was some diagnostic I could run on it and find out.
I currently have WM6.11 running well but as I said with no sound or camera.
Hope you can suggest something I may have overlooked or done wrong - I am new to this and it is very possible I have missed something.

Well, I am, kind of. I have an XDA IIs as well that needs some replacement parts, so if you are going to smash the thing, I'll pay the post to send it my way.
Anyway...

Hrm...
When it is stuck the boot screen, what does the R, G and D lines show? I'm wondering if the radio ROM might be buggered up. However, you do say that it's working... mostly...

No sound... As in playing a sound file with WMP doesn't even produce anything?
Can you use it as a phone normally?
Have you opened it up to see if the camera and speaker(s) are loose?
One other thing to try, if you don't mind doing another hard reset:
1. Download mtty v1.42
2. Stop ActiveSync, by Task Manager (press Ctrl + Alt + Delete) kill two processes rapimgr.exe and wcescomm.exe
3. put your device into Bootloader Mode by pressing Power + Record Button and Soft Reset.
4. Run mtty (from downloaded) Choose WCEUSBSH001 (If you only see COM 1 and COM 2, try unplugging the USB and replugging it)
5. type "set 14 0" without the quotes to tell bootloader to boot the OS after reset.
6. type "task 28" to get your device formatted
7. type "task 0" to ask your device reboot
8. take the device out of the cradle, and manually reset it if it does not do that already.
The wierdest thing happened.
Have to say that none of the suggestions or ideas (though welcome) helped. I reflashed the WM6.1 after flashing latest radio rom. Still no sound and camera.
Last night I had kept the battery out for a few hours and then on replacing it had to do reset - hey presto after all this time the sound worked and so does the camera.???? I have absolutely no idea what I did to fix it - almost as if it needed resetting a few times - cant think what else I have done.
Anyway I am happy bunny now - it all seems to be working perfectly.
Excellent! Glad that it's working for you now, hopefully it stays working as well.
If it doesn't, don't bin it, PM me and we can talk.
Lol - sorry Jdc but i wont be parting with it now - it all works perfectly even the phone is superb now which just goes to show that even when it looks like a hardware fault it is often software - a typical PC in other words.
Cheers

Another ROM player....
I see your post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
I cannot try method 1 and method 2 & 3 do not work for me. Here's the video of my hard bricked phone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLWtSXdu39U
- I have a new Samsung At&T captivate with Official 2.2 but semi-rooted !
- I downloaded "Bay_wolf's AIO Captivate Toolbox 2.5 & 2.6" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11178708
- Without knowing Android stuff, I played with "restore to Official ROM"
- Now my phone is opening at AT&T logo goes off ,AT&T logo goes off,AT&T logo goes off and so on.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLWtSXdu39U
- I tried to reach download mode (power+up, power+down,power+up+down, power+up+Home, power+down+Home and power+up+down+Home). I'm removing battery every tries I made.
- I even did them while without USB connected and USB connected.
NOW is my phone TOTALLY BRICKED??? Who has the knowledge to restore it?
I challenge the smartest Android Wizards to try resolving this issue! I should treat bear if resolved!
I will try this one ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0aoabVtPJ8
Best way is to buy one... http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=jigs+samsung&_sacat=0&_stpos=&_sop=15&gbr=1&_odkw=jigs+captivate&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
It's really difficult to hard brick a Captivate. I've tried.
It seems like you're doing the right things, but not in the right order. To go to download mode, follow EXACTLY:
1) Open Odin.
2) Put your USB connector in the computer, but NOT in the phone.
3) Make sure your phone is turned OFF.
4) Hold the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons at the same time (Just these buttons -- Don't touch the power button.
5) While holding the buttons down (remember, Volume Up and Volume Down at the same time), plug the USB cable (that's already plugged into your computer) into your phone. HOLD THE VOLUME BUTTONS -- BOTH OF THEM -- until the Download screen comes up.
At this point, Odin should see your phone and open a com port. When it does, click Start and go get a drink while your phone is reflashed.

Remove back cover, disconnect and reconnect flex cable properly and put back cover on and tighten all the screws firmly. if the issue still persist, replace flex cable.
For temporary solution, Go to settings and turn cover view off...

(FIXED) Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 will not fully boot up.

I've had my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (SM-T705Y) for just over two years now and it has worked brilliantly beside the odd issue here and there, including the device freezing from time-to-time. Each time that particular freezing issue has happened, I've used the 'Power and Volume Down buttons' technique and it has successfully fixed the issue.
Now, a few days ago, I was using my tablet for normal morning things; music app playing in the background, YouTube opened on the side, using the preinstalled Browser and Google Chrome apps, etc. I am not sure if it was updating any Google or Samsung apps at the time. The screen froze up so I left it for a few minutes, seeing if it would unfreeze. When it didn't, I used the same Power and Volume Down technique, which successfully forced-restarted the tablet. There was a small mistake I made doing this; I was holding down both the Power button and Volume Up button. It took me around thirty seconds to realise why the screen wasn't turning off and switched to the Volume Down button. At the time, both my earphones and the charging cord were connected.
However, upon the loading screen, I noticed that it did not pass the Samsung logo screen with the little explosion of blue circles and just kept replaying the same animation repeatedly. The Application History and Back buttons did not light up and the device did not vibrate as it normally does when it boots up. I repeated the Power-Volume Down technique to see if that would fix the issue. Once again, the tablet rebooted normally but was stuck at the logo screen playing the animation. I tried this same force-restart again, this time without the charger plugged in. No change.
So, I left it running through the animation while doing Google searches through forums and getting into contact with Samsung as to what the issue could be. I'll list down below what my tablet can and can't do at the moment and hopefully someone will have a clue as to what is going on and how to fix it. I will point out now that it was not going through a firmware update at the time, the device is not rooted and nor do I plan on taking that path with it, and I have not made any changes to it that can void the warranty.
It can:
- Recharge (The battery icon will show up if it is force-restarted and the charger is plugged in at the time.)
- Reboot (It's not exactly stuck in a bootloop, more of just the 'explosion' animation replaying over-and-over.)
- Enter Recovery Mode
It cannot:
- Enter Safe Mode
- Be Shut Down without the charger attached (As stated above, the device will only turn off with the Power-Volume Down buttons held for about 30 seconds and that causes the device to restart, not turn off. The only way for it to completely shut down is to have the charger connected and then unplug it after the battery icon appears.)
I have tried removing the SD card and placing it back in, power-cycling it, letting it run on the animation until the battery runs out and then letting it recharge to 100% before turning it on again, connecting it to Samsung Smart Switch (which recognises that there is a Samsung device connected, but not being able to register the device itself), and wiping the Partition Cache (Also note; the Recovery Mode has the 'No Command' sign with the android laying down and the red triangle with the exclamation point above it. Clearing the Partition Cache seemed to go smoothly, however when I chose the 'reboot device now' option, the 'No Command' sign changed to 'Error!' and rebooted the device anyway.) I am now currently trying another technique written on a different website (though since I am a new user, I cannot post up URLs at the moment). So far, plugging in the earphones alone hasn't worked and the device is currently connected to my laptop - which is shut off - and still has the earphones connected, but the animation is the only thing the screen is still showing.
I have important files saved in the internal storage of my Tab S and I do not have them backed up, which is the only issue that's stopping me from just going ahead and doing a Factory Reset as I cannot lose these files.
I am unsure if my Tab S is soft-bricked or if this is another issue entirely and I just missed something that could have already fixed it.
Yes, this is a long and detailed post, but hopefully with these details, someone will be able to help with this issue. If I can restore my Tab S to its condition before the freeze, that would be amazing, but I can definitely settle with only being able to salvage my files from the internal storage and then performing a Factory Reset on it.
Thank you in advance~
It might be a corrupt partition. The way i know involve rooting or the other one might format your device to factory setting.

Really? I might look into that a bit more, thanks! With the second method you mentioned, how likely are the chances of it formatting the device to the factory settings?

download the official firmware and flash it via odin. it usually fix this type of problem. but usually the files on the internal storage/sdcard will be intact. only the data apps will be gone. this will not break your warranty (its already 2 yo device... no more warranty anyway ^_^)

Alright, I'll try that and let you know how it goes. Is there any specific website I should download the firmware (4.4.2 KitKat) from? (Yeah, I agree with you there! Still, just to be on the safe side~)
KIT KAT? ok that's old... hahaha... why dont you try MM. I think you can search for it at fw.updato.com probably can see all related firmware there.
