Intellextinction is a sketchy hand-drawn arcade game with some satirical narration elements.
Please enjoy ! (or not, it's free so do whatever you want with this fresh sh*te)

Windows Marketplace Offering

I would like the Windows Phone community to help me compile a list of popular applications (apps) that are available on iOS and Android, and the status of these apps on Windows Marketplace (free, paid and price, or not available). Also, an alternative app if one is missing would be helpful.

There is no native File Explorer; users have to use Zune Software.
There are loads of 3rd party Google map apps. My favourites are Gmaps and Bingle Maps.
Dropbox clients are available:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439260
There's an Xbox Live game called Spider Jack that is similar to Cut the Rope. Costs $2.99. Also you can play a HTML5 browser version of CTR for free, by going to http://www.cuttherope.ie (not sure if it works on WP7 or not)
You might want to narrow the list to top apps or most wanted apps.
Microsoft stated they would bring the top apps by the 2nd quarter. I think I read that.

There is a dropbox app that has a free version and paid version.
BoxFiles for Dropbox.
I only have played with it a bit, but verified that it works.

I don't believe nicksti asked for advice on how to run the thread.
Please provide a link where Microsoft stated they would bring the top apps. Clearly they are not in control of third party software. There is no need for you to try to create trouble here. If you can not find a credible link stating that, please edit your post and remove the comment. It is clearly an attempt by you to discredit Microsoft and Windows Phone 7 with false information.

It does work although it takes a little to load and you also have to go into options and change to click to cut because drag will scroll you left and right. I've played it before and was surprized to see it in a post here.

I had put popular apps which I figured would mean most downloaded or top apps. So I bolded it now for emphasis. You have a good point though, because I would not want this to be a wall of any and every app.

We will have to give him this one. Top 25 iOS and Android apps are expected to hit WP in first half of the year. I will ads links too. Im on my phone and waiting in a queue to pay for my shopping but soon adding the link.
EDIT: Here is that link Vet talked about or what I think he was referring to: http://wmpoweruser.com/skype-and-all-top-25-apps-to-be-released-in-first-half-of-2012/

My apologies for sounding rude or making a suggestion. You can clearly name thousands of missing apps, that's why i suggested naming most wanted. Sorry if that creates trouble.
I think I read that information on this site.
Anyway I can't post here since I'm not allowed.

Posting here to say that you are not allowed to post here? I do welcome the suggestion. Beyond the missing apps, I could name thousands of app that are present as well, but I do agree the exercise is to make a list of the most popular/downloaded/desireable apps.
This really all came about after reading posts with people complaining about missing features and apps. I wanted to get a sense of what is missing from an app perspective so people can be more informed about making a Windows Phone purchase.
Honestly, from a mass market consumption standpoint, the only thing I see missing right now is Skype (and that is coming).
Any more popular apps that I am missing?
Are we not counting the third party apps/ clients that do the same thing as the official apps?
If so, probably the title should say 'official apps' comparison?

Looked at another way, the addition to Skype to the Windows Phone apps market will help Microsoft "bridge the gap in top apps" between Windows Phone and the competition, and the overall goal is to ensure that all "top 25 apps" (from both iOS and Android) will be available on Windows Phone before the end of the first half of 2012. And Microsoft is also investing tens of millions of dollars over three years to promote competitors of key apps that will never, for whatever reason, be ported to Windows Phone. Pandora is cited as an example, alarmingly.

overall goal vs to be released.
I just looked at my iPhone for the top 25 apps (each costs $0.99 on the iPhone except camera plus, which is $1.99):
1. Where's my Water
2. Scrabble with Friends
3. Fruit Ninja - WP ($2.99)
4. Words with Friends
5. Angry Birds - WP ($2.99)
6. NFL Kicker
7. Angry Birds Seasons
8. Paper Monsters
9. Stickman Cliff Diving
10. Cut the Rope
11. Camera+
12. WhatsApp Messenger - WP (FREE)
13. Angry birds Rio
14. Bejeweled - WP (Bejeweled Live $4.99)
15. Doodle Jump - WP ($2.99)
16. Free Music Download Pro Plus - WP (Free Music downloader FREE)
17. Battery Boost
18. The Game of Life
19. Evi
20. TETRIS - WP (by $4.99 - Tetris7 FREE)
21. Pimp Your Screen
22. Reel Steel
23. NBA JAM by EA SPORTS
24. Color Texting for iMessages
25. Tiny Wings
Pandora and Skype don't even make the list.
My guess it that Microsoft uses a different top 25 list.
In any case, I marked the ones that are available on Windows Phone and included the price in the Windows Phone Marketplace.
The iPhone App Store does let you list the top and top free for each category as well.
Guessing the Social Networking category would be the most important, then maybe music.

There is another article somewhere talking about Pandora won't even be bothered to officially come to WP until Apollo. So Pandora - we definitely are using the clients even after Apollo sadly. But my feeling based on current rumours is - Skype app around Tango and Skype integration in Apollo to say the least!
Pimp my screen, Battery Boost, Tiny Wings, Color Texting for iMessages (obviously) are iOS only correct?
I am trying to compile a list that would be cross-platform. Would not want to include Android only or iOS only software.

Correct, I think. I am not sure what Tiny Wings is, so I'm not sure on that one.

[APP][BETA][ANDROID] Free live streaming app needs beta testers

We are developing the next biggest live streaming application called "It's me casting". And we urgently need beta testers for the upcoming system stress test.
Here is the link to download our app for Android: http://fir.im/itsme
For testing, there will be regular casters online during 19:00~21:00 every weekdays and Sundays. You can also broadcast yourself at anytime you like.
Really appreciate if you could let me know your thought of our app's quality, utilities, and UI design. Your help will mean a lot to us.
The App crashes when I try to open it from my Samsung S6

I often play games on my android. These games really assist in spending short leisure times with fun.
Personally, I kinda liked gaming on Android - and also kinda hated it at the same time.
I liked it because there were good games despite their issues, such as:
Fate/GO (Good story, but plagued with gacha hell & unreasonable root detection)
SAO - Integral Factor (Fun, free, gacha hell)
Animus : Stand Alone (paid)
What I hated about gaming on Android:
License checking - Any paid games from Play Store ; for example, the aforementioned above Animus : Stand Alone, requires Play Store License checking. That, in my point of view, means that unless the owner of a paid game has signed in with the account they used to pay for the game, they may not play that game.
Gacha Hell - Includes Fate/GO & SAO - Integral Factor. Sure, with enough skill & experience, this issue may be bypassed. But, for the fanbase, getting the SSR they want in these games, for example, requires either sheer luck and/or real-time money. Sorry, but I'm not sorry to say this out.
CAPITALISM - sorry, gotta say that one in full caps. But, microtransactions.
Weird & Questionable root detection - Only on Fate/GO. Their root detection is so insane that Magisk dev topjohnwu discovered a security vulnerability - [url]https://www.xda-developers.com/procfs-leak-lg-oneplus-huawei-xiaomi-asus/[/URL]
Fortnite Mobile, a non-Play Store game, also suffers from this issue.
Not fun enough- Honestly, other than the 3 games I mentioned above & PUBG Mobile, I don't think any other Android games are fun enough. Sure, I can sidestep this issue by playing retro games with emulators, but, so far, the only good emulator is PPSSPP - DraStic, a DS emulator, requires Play Store license checking.
Mandatory Internet access - Most Android games are digital release only. Fate/GO & SAO-IF are also plagued with this issue, as both were incomplete on release. Sure, updates do fix bugs & add more content, but, single-player games requiring internet connection scares me about the future of gaming, especially on Android.
An example of a game that (kinda) bypasses this flaw : iPad's Infinity Blade series (discontinued & removed from App Store, unfortunately). The only times it actually needs internet access is for cloud saving. However, it still relies on the App Store; as it's a paid app (license checking).
