Question SIM Card Activation Issue - Xiaomi 13 Pro

Hi everyone,
I'm having issues with a physical SIM whereby my phone (Xiaomi 13 Pro) doesn't want to activate the SIM line nor can I input the PIN to unlock the SIM card. Essentially the phone is happy with the SIM not functioning at all and there's no way to change the status. I want to mention that it did prompt me the very first time I inserted the SIM for initial setup but hasn't been since then. Rebooting, turning airplane mode on/off doesn't seem to prompt the unlock/activate the SIM. I have to use that specific SIM on another phone now. Any clue on how to solve this or force the phone to unlock and activate the card?
Thanks!

Maybe try deleting the pin code with the other phone and/or using the other location.

Support SIM Unlock Issue ??

I'm having a problem unlocking the SIM. I have Incredible 2 unlock by code ( 8 digi)
ON HTC incredible 2
Settings:Security, there is a menu item for "Disable SIM card lock". + enter unlock code
but after enter unlock code , Incredible 2 will reboot
My problem is: After unlocking SIM I try to switch to GSM mode. It says "There is no SIM card on your device. Your device will switch to CDMA mode now". I tried number of working SIMs of other people phones... No success.
Change Simcard ( GSM) , turn on Htc incredible 2 , Settings>Call>Preferred Network>GSM/UMTS Mode always show "There is no SIM card on your device. Your device will switch to CDMA mode now"
I go to Settings - >Security->Disable SIM lock. It says "Sim lock disabled"
I can't make a call , i can't use GSM/UMTS mode ,I'm not in US
Try google search :

No solution ???
Sounds like the SIM isn't compatible. I thought I read somewhere that certain older SIM cards wouldn't work, not sure about that though.
Perhaps you can get a logcat and see what specific error you are getting. When I did this with mine, I saw something like "invalid CID...".
I tested an AT&T SIM card and it worked just fine.

Thanks mattwood2000
but how to get a logcat ?? Tool or use command line logcat in sdk http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/logcat.html
??
I recently got back to the US from France. Before leaving I called support, unlocked the SIM card, and updated my PRL before leaving from JFK. When I arrived in France, I got no reception and was unable to switch to GSM mode. I ended up not having a working phone for the entire trip.
I get back to the US and complain to customer service and they offer to replace the SIM card. After taking my phone apart I realized that the CSR at the Verizon store had inserted my SIM card backwards. I turned the SIM card around and the phone now is able to switch to global mode. The correct way to insert the card is with the cut corner of the SIM card outside of the slot on the right (if you are looking at the card in the slot).
Not saying this is your problem, but it's definitely something to check.
ouch...that hurts!!
I'll make sure to double check mine when I touch down next week.
For logcat, I use Eclipse and DDMS. Just setup eclipse per Google's instructions and once you connect your phone (enable USB debugging), you will see a logcat tab next to the console. Just look in there...lots of data will be spit out of your phone.

I have checked and tested with 05 set of HTC Incredible 2
. There has only 01 set can't be unlocked and also can't switched into GSM mode.
I thought the problem comes from the set itself, not because of the way of inserting Sim card.
Thank Petitsinge for your support.
@ Mattwood2000 : tks , I will test for sure and then inform you.

Unfortunately at work!
I looked at your logcat and that is the same as I had with my European SIM - I guess the problem is that there are no local cells that accept that carrier/SIM card. What carrier is the SIM for?
I tried my phone with an AT&T card and it worked just fine.
I suspect that when I get to Europe next week there will be no problem with my card.
Can you try another card?
*EDIT*
One other though I had is what kind of SIM card - micro, etc.?
If its a micro you will need an adapter or careful hands to get it to seat correctly.
I'm having the same exact issue as the OP any resolution? I get "Network or SIM card error" when trying to access GSM options.
Thanks!

Can't select which Sim card to use

I'm not sure how long this has been, I think since the last update, but I cant select which sim i want to use to make a call or send a text with.
I only noticed this when I went to Belgium (I have a UK and Belgian Sim card in my phone). When I make a call the phone automatically uses my first Sim card (UK) and doesnt give me the option to select my second sim card (BE) anymore.
The same happens when texting.
Is this because of Truecaller? Is there something obvious I am missing?
Thanks!
Hi,
same problem here. I don't know if it's related to the latest update. I'm using dual sim since 1-2 weeks...
Temporary solution:
1. turn phone off
2. remove sim card 2
3. turn phone on
4. take at look at the dual sim card menu, if the sim card in slot 1 is recognized correctly (system settings -> sim cards)
5. if sim card in slot 1 is not recognized correlty reboot the phone
6. turn phone off
7. insert sim card 2
8. turn phone on and now you should be able to select sim your sim card for calling, sending sms and internet connection
This lasts for me till I change the settings again und leave the menu...

Question about unlocking the device SIM/waiting period

I've purchased a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and I'm looking at the LinageOS install guide.
I realize that I'll need a SIM card and the Mi Unlock app. I don't have a dedicated SIM card for the device, but I could use the SIM card of another device.
What I haven't found any information on - does the SIM card have to remain in the device during the waiting period?
According to Mi they say to "Use your device actively" while waiting for unlock. That would leave me to believe they use your sim card to verify you own the device you want to unlock, so I would recommend keeping it in. But, maybe someone else knows for sure?
You only need the sim card with unlocking, before and after 168 hours.
You can use every sim card, but it must have data acces.
After activating the 168 hours you can take out the sim and insert again a sim if you unlock.
Xiaomi sends an confirmation by sms to the phonenumber of the account.
This can be your original sim in another phone too.
The confirmation number you can insert in your new phone.
Using your phone isn't neccesary, but you must nog log off or log on again your account
Thank you for the feedback!

Question Sim Card is being detected but No Service!! (Emergency Calls Only)

My mobile is acting weird lately. The sim cards automatically gets disconnected (no service) although the sim card is still being detected.
After a while the data on the sim works but volte stops working, ie i cant make calls but can use the mobile data.
restarting the phone fixes it but it again starts to happen?
Things ive tried,
1.Tried flashing the stock firmware (India, Europe and Global)
2.Gotten the sim card slots replaced @ service centre
Somebody Help!!
Replace the sim card? Usual suspect... handle like a stick of ram. They can be damaged by ESD and the failures can be unpredictable if so.
i have the same thing.
Using an Mi5 right now with the latest LineageOS ROM, and most of the time the sim card is completley disconnected, and i need to reboot the phone, and then it asks me again for the SIMCARD pin, but sometimes i need to reboot 2-3 times until i get the message to enter my simcard pin.
