the decryption pin will just be your lockscreen pin for FBEv2, there's nothing else that it would be using. the same applies for basic twrp and orangefox as well.

i switched from ofox myself and the transition was relatively seemless, i think it's just the install of your rom that's throwing it off.
also did you install dfe of any sort?

No, didn't remember install dfe or anything, maybe I'll try to change my pin to maybe 6 digits and try it again, thanks for the suggestions

that's very unusual, maybe the keystore messed up after you switched recoveries, but I'm glad it works now after a bit of trial and error

I think instructions are missing wiping steps to remove encryption in devices that are encrypted.
how to link google account or any account for that matter? as without it, not possible to add contacts backed up with google account
I have followed all the steps, I have entered twrp (in my case orange fox), format data, wipes, flash rom and def (extracted from this page), the rom starts fine but when returning to orange fox it stays in the logo.
Any solution?

This Android 12 is pure AOSP and vanilla. Just the ROM, no GApps. You have to find a working gapps package to flash and then you have the accesses you need. Cheers
(Don't ask/reply for special gapps, as I have not yet tested)

Here is two custom recovery for Samsung galaxy A01 [SM-A015F] TWRP and OrangeFox built from source .
Most every thing is working fine .
Note : -before you install this custom recoveries you must be familiar with ODIN TOOL and Samsung flashing ( any wrong operation may broke your device)
-always make a copy of your stock recovery in case...
-unlock your bootloader and disable AVB

Yes it is functional, but if you face an Encyption problem just do a wipe or install an encyption disabler.

hey nick, sadly i dont have my device on me right now but you can check yourself by installing Signature Spoofer Checker, also as far as i know it's included in lineage by default
i checked signature spoofing rn and got to know that signature spoofing isnt supported, if anyone knows how to patch it pls tell

More of a Lineageos question but tried Magisk by following this (https://www.androidweblog.com/root-xiaomi-poco-f4-magisk-without-twrp/) but that I initially didn't flash boot_b (flashed "boot" only which the output showed "boot_a_ was only flashed) and it boot looped when rebooting after that.
So I then entered fast boot again and tried to flash "boot_a" (completed - again) AND boot_b but boot_b aborted with "fastboot: error: boot partition is smaller than boot image". Stuck in boot loop after that when trying to boot up. Would re-flashing the original boot.img from this Lineageos build likely restore things so the apps/data I had installed so far are installed? I messed up in any case as Magisk recommends wiping apps/data before flashing it but just trying to avoid rebuilding if possible.
Edit: OK, so now I understand the purpose of the two slots (wish they weren't referred to as "partitions" on some sites). I've likely hosed both. But I would like to know if Magisk is supported by this Lineageos build before rebuilding?
