Try this, it doesnt remap it but it pretends to be an assistant, havent tested it.
But to actually remap it is impossible.

there used to be an app called Button Remapper for rooted devices but now the Dev has stopped support for JB it was only till GB so need to look around if there is any such app try in play store see if you could find
or you may want to try this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...DEsImNvbS5oYXJkcm9jay5zbWFydGFuc3dlcmNhbGwiXQ..
Thank for your support. I search my concerns by google, many people meet the same problem, and so far there is no any solution. anyway I can try to answer in-call by shaking fuction. better than nothing.
I appreciate that someone share with us how to answer incall when using flipcover in note 2. so far I know answer call by touching home key and touching screen.

I thought i was smart enough, i got the Moto Action latest apk, the latest update (March 2017) is dedicated for Moto G5 and includes the One Nav Button. Well problem is you cant update the moto action via google play because it says it is running the latest version. So i took the apk from another source. Turned out the installation failed.
Wish there was a way to bypass this.
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-Z-Play/Moto-z-play-fingerprint-gestures/m-p/3615682#M2908 " There are no plans of adding this feature in the next update. If our customers are not happy with what the phone's native feature, there is Play store where you can download third party apps which suit your style and customization."
Getting rid of the nav-bar is one of the main reasons I'm planning to root my Moto Z Play. Too bad the one button-feature doesn't work there. I'd rather keep the phone locked (warranty) and on stock Android.
I use this.

sounds good, but the navbar is still visible so thats only 50% of the "one button navigation" thing
any ideas for hiding the navbar without root?

This app is an ugly workaround and broke the first thing I tested it with: When its running, long presses aren't working any more in Nova Launcher.
I really hope some dev will be able to migrate the Moto Action-app that includes the One Button-feature to Moto Z without the need of root.

If you are on Marshmallow with Xposed but if you're in Nougat can't do nothing or install Lineage OS and activate the Expanded Desktop feature.

I use this app. I assigned navigation keys to different swipe edge locations. You can customize settings such as edge width or swipe distance under edge preference. Use immersive mode to get rid of the navbar.
This app does not work perfectly on a non-rooted device as keyboard doesn't function well in immersive mode, but it has been working fine since I rooted my phone. I noticed that key popups that I type appear on weird locations though, so I just disabled that option.

Is there a way to skip tracks for songs?

By long pressing the volume buttons?
I'm interested in this as well. I know there is a button remapper app, but not sure if it will work with skipping tracks. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.homebutton

I tried it a month ago no go.
I think something like Tasker could still work on Oreo

Late reply and you may have found something but for those who have not, Button Mapper by flar2 is what I use just for doing this. Available on XDA and Play Store.

Yea, we are looking for something that will work with the screen off.
Xposed + Gravity box - has an option to skip tracks with volume keys.
Works great, just tested it. Screen off

Yes it can be done with the screen off. You need to enable 'Screen Off Actions' in the 'Advance' menu. Scroll to the bottom.

Worked on a P10 with EMUI 8, android 8 Oreo, when nothing else would work. Forced it to see it as AOSP in the settings but maybe not necessary
Smart pocket does a pretty good job. Double/single click instead of long press, but it works.
just flash Ressurection remix and u can do what u want =)

Volume button to skip tracks ?

Hi,
Is there a way to skip tracks by long pressing volume buttons when the screen is off ? (like in almost all custom roms).
I'm running MIUI 10 and I didn't find a way to do it.
You must have root access then you need to download Button Mapper application from play store. Configure the application and you are good to go.

Seems like a nice solution, but I can't make it work only when the screen is off. Or maybe I missed something

That's the drawback, it'll work even when screen is on.

How to i remap Bixby button to answer a call?

Can anyone help me to remap Bixby button on my s9 to directly answer a call just by single press.
Bxactions has this option, but you need to buy the app, its not in the free version.
Just read tasker can now remap the button to pretty much anything (Likely need the updated Bixby & Pie though)
