How do I install Net-Hunter on a OnePlus 8 Pro using OxygenOS/Andriod 13? - OnePlus 8 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

How do I install Net-Hunter on a OnePlus 8 Pro using OxygenOS/Andriod 13? The install documentation Net-Hunter images state it uses Android version twelve. Does that mean I must roll back my devices before attempting to flash them? I am very new to rooting devices, so any help is appreciated. I'm using Linux instead of Windows as a daily driver, so the documentation hasnt been so helpful, but here is where I am so far; correct me if I've made a mistake. (I've assumed I had to rollback the Android version but If I do not plz, let me know)
I've unlocked the boot-loader
I've downloaded the OnePlus 8 Pro android 11 firmware onto my laptop(I am not sure if links are allowed here, but ill post in the comments if someone wants to verify its the right one)
I've dumped the payload.bin from the firmware, extracting it into .img files
I then connected my OnePlus 8 Pro to my Linux system and I ran the following commands:
fastboot reboot fastboot fastboot flash abl abl.img
fastboot flash aop aop.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
fastboot flash modem modem.img
fastboot flash qupfw qupfw.img
fastboot flash storsec storsec.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot flash vbmeta_system vbmeta_system.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
The last command gave me the following error: Fix FAILED (remote: 'Not enough space to resize partition')
Like an idiot, I restarted the phone and bricked it, so now it looks like ill have to open a Windows VM with MSMDownloadTool (if anyone knows a Linux alternative, that would be swell)
TLDR:
Do I need to roll back to Android 12 to install Net-Hunter?=
If not, does anyone know of a Linux-friendly method?
If so, what mistake did I make to get that error?
Is there a Linux equivalent to MSMDownloadTool?
SPECS:Laptop: EndeavorOSPhone: OnePlus 8 Pro, NA model, OxygenOS/Andriod 13

Going to document my journey in these comments so I can make a full guide if I figure it out

When I run lsusb the phone shows up as: Bus 001 Device 006: ID 05c6:900e Qualcomm, Inc. QUSB_BULK_SN:B8FAE271.
Research indicates this means the phone is recognized as a Qualcomm device in EDL (Emergency Download) mode. Aparently this mode is used for low-level flashing and unbricking the device using tools like the MSMDownloadTool. But im on Linux....

Reasearch indicates on Linux I can use a tool called qdl to flash Qualcomm devices in EDL (Emergency Download) mode. qdl is a command-line tool that works with Qualcomm Firehose programmers.
However I need the appropriate firmware files for my OnePlus 8 Pro device, which MUST include a programmer (.mbn) file, a rawprogram.xml file, and a set of partition images.

Any luck? . I get monitor mode without injections on internal, it is not recognizing external nics like the tl-wn721n , not getting Bluetooth recognized either. i am on android 12 stock, rooted and flahsed nethunter.zip with magisk . The OP 8 Seems to be very hard to get NHup and running, too bad NetHunter would pair nicely with IR cam

How to revert Moto G5 XT1670 to stock rom

Hello, how are you? My Name Is Cristian and I'm from Argentina.
I've had a Moto G5 for a while and a lot of custom roms were installed on it. However, there were many problems in the process. The roms had bugs, performance issues, and some didn't even boot.
So i made the decision to go back to the factory rom and close the bootloader forever. But it couldn't. Something prevented it. Something was causing the phone to not start properly.
Therefore, after doing so many laps, i was able to do the whole process.
And today i publish this topic so that you can do it too. I hope you can come out triumphant in the process just like me. Have lucky!
1) The first thing you should do is download Rescue & Smart assistant. Install on your pc and create account (if you not) or login in.
Code:
https://support.lenovo.com/es/es/downloads/DS101291
2) You will need to find the official firmware of your device. Search for the exact device SKU (model of your phone) and exact region. For example the SKU of my device is XT1670 the region is RETAR (from Argentina). If you are from United States (and try to install RETAR) Rescue & Smart assistant will not recognize the SKU of your device, and will not be able to continue.
Find the exact firmware corresponding to your mobile phone.
Code:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/cedric/official/
Unzip the rom in the place that you prefer.
3) Now put your device in bootloader mode and execute the following commands (ignoring any errors in the process)
Code:
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.6
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.7
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.8
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot reboot
4) Once the above process is finished, start your phone normally. Go to the developer options and activate usb debugging. Plug the phone into PC.
Open "Rescue & Smart assistant" and accept usb debugging on your phone. The app installs some control app, dont worry.
Go to Rescue & Smart assistant and select "Rescue". The program will recognize your phone's SKU if you downloaded the correct firmware. Otherwise, if a wrong sign appears, you will have to repeat step 2 and 3 with the correct firmware.
Click on "Rescue now" and the program will download the firmware corresponding to your phone. After this, the firmware installation will begin.
Why do all this process?
The Rescue & Smart app is official from Motorola. When the official firmware is installed, the signed firmware files are also installed with it. The firmware is official because is delivered directly by Motorola, specifically for your mobile phone, and not by unofficial sites.
5) Hey, wait! the bootloader needs to be blocked. True.
Go to C:\ProgramData\LMSA\Download\RomFiles and you will find there the official rom downloaded by "Rescue & Smart". This rom is unique, signed and official. Only for your phone, only for its hardware. Do not lose it. It will save your ass from many inconveniences, if one day you want to continue experimenting with your phone.
Copy the whole directory in other site and open cmd in it. Now shutdown your phone and start it in bootloader mode.
Now put these commands (ignoring bla bla bla errors):
Code:
fastboot oem lock
fastboot oem lock
fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot oem lock
And that's it. Your mobile phone is now official and with its bootloader locked. almost factory-made.
So thank you for reading all this and I hope the information has served you a lot. Any questions about it (about this) do not hesitate to consult.
Great post and thanks for taking the time to post it :good:
For people who might struggle with this I've used Moto Auto Flash Tool v8.2 By Jamesjerss.rar with great success,

The reason i made this post was mainly because a lot of people have problems with unsigned firmware and cannot follow normal recovery processes. However, I will consider this application for future experiments. It seems to be an application that already has the commands prepared, so there are no errors. The problem is that it does not offer the official firmware (from Motorola) directly for the specific device. Anyway it is good not to make mistakes in the commands.

It's a great little program that I had to use Yesterday on a Moto G3 as the normal ADB way as per your post wouldn't work for whatever reason and I've used ADB loads
I was my own fault on that phone as I,"Soft Bricked" it using the latest version Magisk uninstall option so NEVER use this option in Magisk. I returned the phone to Stock and then upgraded it to my favourite Custom roms

[GUIDE] How to root it

First, I assume you know what root, fastboot, SafetyNet, bootloader, adb is ( SEARCH FIRST BEFORE DOING THESE STEPS! ) and you know the risks of rooting a device!
Me nor the XDA guys are responsible for bricked devices, nor any damage to you and/or your device.
So, after that, let's dive into the steps of rooting it
First of all is to download your stock android image ( in case something goes wrong plus the boot.img needed for this process )
You can download your stock image the way you want, you can use lolinet etc, just make sure it matches your device!
So, open the image you downloaded, extract the boot.img file and put it on the phone's internal memory, then download Magisk Manager ( I personally used GitHub to download.... ) and open it.
Now, select 'Install' ( the one that says Magisk, not the manager ), go to 'Select and Patch a file'
Navigate and select your boot.img, then wait for it to complete, after that, you'll see a file in the Download folder on the phone called 'magisk_patched.img' grab this file and put it on the computer.
The next step is that you'll need to unlock your bootloader ( I'll not cover how to do that here, but a quick search on ' how to unlock Motorola bootloader' should help ), but be aware that it will format your phone ( you'll lose any saved data, so pay attention! )
After, put the phone in fastboot mode again ( vol minus + power button ), then on the terminal window you're using fastboot, run this command:
fastboot boot magisk_patched.img
( I assume you put the magisk_patched in the same folder you're running fastboot ( Windows case ) )
REMEMBER TO TEST EVERYTHING ON YOUR DEVICE IN THIS PART BEFORE CONTINUING!!!!!
IF YOUR PHONE DIDN'T BOOT OR BOOTED BUT WITH MALFUNCTION STOP NOW AND REBOOT IT, MAYBE YOUR STOCKROM WASN'T CORRECT OR SOMETHING ELSE...
After that your device will normally boot, install Magisk Manager and check if it "says" installed and displays the version.
If so and your device runs fine, reboot again to fastboot then run on the terminal window:
fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img
This will make the root persistent after reboots
Now as you expected, you're rooted
A bonus tip:
Safetynet will fail! To fix that, open Magisk Manager, then go to it's settings, then tap to enable "MagiskHide" and then tap "Hide Magisk Manager" type a new name for the Manager and boom, that's it, now SafetyNet will work ( In my case it did hehe )
I'm new to English, learning alone, so any mistyping etc tell me and I'll fix it
Also I'm new to XDA too hihi
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience!
Has there been anyone else who managed to root this device?
I really want to buy one but first I want to make sure I will be able to root it from day 1. I don't like to use an unrooted phone
I bought my device last Black Friday and rooted it this week with this guide.
I’ve downloaded my boot.img from Lolinet and googled how to unlock a bootloader of a Moto phone.
I’ve also enabled oem unlock in developer settings.
It’s not so difficult.
The bonus tip from the OP is very helpful. Only rename Magisk is not enough. Also hide the manager to pass the safetynet test.

I think u'll need to port your custom fonts as Magisk Modules, since you can't change system files directly ( even with root ).
Hi, I'm new to rooting the phone, I managed to unlock the bootloader, I did everything as in the description except the last step because the fastboot boot magisk_patched.img command did not work. So I copied the magisk file to the adb folder and typed: fastboot flash boot C: \ adb \ magisk_patched_INTjS.img. My phone touchscreen has stopped working. I'm very worried. Is it possible that I used the wrong stock image version or did I do it wrong? Now I wish the phone would just work

So maybe your stock was wrong, if ' fastboot boot magisk_patched.img ' failed then u can't force ( fastboot flash ) the installation since it'll probably cause problems...
I suggest you try to download your stock rom and re-flash the boot partition, if no lucky, try using ' Lenovo rescue and smart assistant ' and hope it works again...

Yes, I tried to enter this command but it said that it cannot find the file magisk. Tomorrow I will try to install the stock rom with RSD Lite if that's the right decision, with the help of this website: https://www.androidinfotech.com/moto-g9-plus-odessa-android-10/. If that doesn't help, I will have to give it to repaired because I won't be able to handle it myself.

It's should work since it's an official tool, any news tell us. Good lucky buddy.
Lenovo tool does not work although my model exists its: G9 plus XT2087-2 error that appears: Unable to match tche appropriate firmware. Some key information cannot be read from the device. You can find my stock room here:

Room that I will download should I unpack to adb folder or where? Is it safe to install it yourself or is it better to go to a local phone repairer? It may be hard to find someone who knows what to do.

Yeah, as I said, u need to unpack it to the folder where you see the ' fastboot.exe ' file, and then copy all the spoiler commands I sent, put the phone in fastboot mode, and open the cmd in the folder where fastboot.exe and your extracted rom is, then paste and run the spoiler commands and you're good to go, remember that it'll take a while since it'll re-flash all your system.

No prob, we're all learning, and all you need to fix a device that doesn't boot, is an unlocked bootloader, since u can re-flash, I did this on a few devices ( moto x4 ; moto G5s ; moto g9+ ) and succeeded on repairing those...

[Guide] Oneplus 7T T-Mobile to International Firmware Conversion Explained

Preparation:
Notes are important, please pay attention
ONLY use stock USB-A to USB-C cable
I have tried the stock cable from Axon 7, fail fail and more fail, don't make this mistake
DON'T store flash files on USB storage.
fastboot will timeout if your flash files are stored at a slow storage device such as a USB drive, or slow computer with eMMC drive
Download and extract the patched MSM download tool and related flash files (credit)
Download and extract TWRP 3.4.0-2 Test by mauronofrio (credit)
Download and extract 10.0.13-GLOBAL-OnePlus7TOxygen_14.O.19_OTA_019_all_2009281709_1026-FASTBOOT.zip (credit)
Optional: Unlock bootloader at this official OnePlus page with those steps
automated process you have to wait 1 whole week for
if you take this route, you will have an easier time get into EDL
Optional for Driver and boot into EDL: Download and extract the TOOL ALL IN ONE (credit) (untested) (can skip this step if you have driver and completed preparation step 7)
Flash Operations:
Run the MSM executable with Administrator Privilege
Boot into bootloader on 7T (if you already have adb connection, adb reboot bootloader would work as well)
Restart device: Vol Up + Power
Boot into recovery: when system reboot from step 4, immediately press and hold Vol Down + Power until recovery screen
Boot into fastboot: English -> Advanced -> fastboot
Boot into EDL on 7T
If you have OnePlus unlock token from Preparation step 7
Connect USB cable to both PC and 7T
on MSMDownloadTool, click Enum to display your device
fastboot flash cust-unlock unlock_token.bin
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot boot twrp.img
when TWRP boot: adb reboot edl
on MSMDownloadTool it will now show connected
If you don't want to wait for token (untested)
Use TOOL ALL IN ONE
Or, hold down the buttons then click start in MSM. If you release the volume buttons early it will kick you out of EDL--well at least for me. you can release the buttons once MSM starts (credit)
When MsmDownloadTool display connected, hit Start until 7T display CORRUPT message (normal behavior) and reboot into fastboot by ITSELF. If your 7T doesn't get into fastboot screen automatically, something is wrong with previous step, redo EDL flashing and do NOT proceed.
Start Power-Shell with Administrator Privilege and go to the extracted path of 10.0.13-global-oneplus7toxygen_14.o.19_ota_019_all_2009281709_1026-fastboot.zip (DO NOT USE DOS, it will fail you miserably)
Unlock bootloader: .\fastboot flashing unlock_critical (suggested, because it works, so I didn't test the oem unlock method)
To avoid potential conflict with installed fastboot binary (possibly lower version), you can either
edit the flash-all.bat, and change fastboot to .\fastboot, such that only the local fastboot binary will be invoked instead of pathed binary
OR run those identical commands with copy and paste
Code:
.\fastboot -w
.\fastboot flash boot boot.img
.\fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
.\fastboot flash modem modem.img
.\fastboot flash reserve reserve.img
.\fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Few notes
User data is wiped, again, lol
reserve partition flashing can produce error msg: FAILED (remote: '(reserve_a) No such partition'), it is OK but others should not Fail
Device will reboot once during the flashing process
After reboot, device will NOT go into fastboot screen but instead go into stock recovery screen, however fastboot will pick up and resume flashing the rest, ONLY IF YOU ARE UNDER POWER-SHELL, so DO NOT flash under DOS
if anything else fails besides the reserve partition, repeat step 7
Device will boot into system, you may use the OS updater to upgrade to the lastest firmware then relock bootloader or proceed with root with Magisk
Hope this will save you some precious time. Major kudos for previous contributions from post 1 and post 2.
All steps are recorded from memory, please let me know if any mistakes are in need of correction.
Tested working on Dec 5, 2020
I have followed this method (and literally anything else I can find) to a T and the farthest I get is when flashing the ROM, I get "Flashing is not allowed for critical partitions" - which I can only find people saying that means the bootloader needs to be unlocked, but it is?! It's definitely, fully unlocked. No matter what I try I can't get around that error during the flashing process and it stays stuck on the T-Mobile ROM.
I had the same issue with the critical partition error when I was under DOS and during the reboot process, 7T will only boot into the normal fastboot screen. In here, I always gets that error over and over. I stopped getting it when 7T boot into the recovery screen under power-shell.
Few things to make sure:
Stock cable
Power-shell in admin priv
Use local fastboot binary
If things still not looking up, I would try a different PC.
Good luck.
Yup, those are all correct and I have tried another PC. Now I'm scared I may have bricked it, because other than booting it into FastBoot it just loops on the "Your device is corrupted" screen. Any thoughts? It did this after I re-locked the bootloader to try unlocking Critical again.
Is your device is corrupt screen the one that gets displayed after the MSM EDL flashing?
If so, does your device auto boot into fastboot afterwards?
My thinking is after MSM tool, your device is corrupted, then you unlock critical flashing. Afterwards, the partitions being flashed in by the fastboot should prevent the corrupt msg being displayed. If you are all getting corrupt msg after the fastboot reboot, then something is off with the first part of your fastboot flashing.
It's that same screen, yes, but the phone is just stuck in a boot loop. It says "Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot." and goes black and says it again, over and over. It will not automatically boot to Fastboot, but if I mess with the volume/power keys, I can get it to the fastboot screen. But no matter what else I do it goes back to an endless loop with the corrupt message.
I think some error could have been carried over from the MSMDownloadTool flashing process. My 7T always auto boot into fastboot screen after the corrupt msg display without interaction on my end.
Try your EDL flashing part again, and at the same time, re-download the preparation step 4 file over again and try use that instead afterwards if you are still stuck on the boot loop, just to prevent possible discrepancies might be caused by corrupted file (unlikely, but it doesn't hurt right?)
Gotcha, thanks. Got it into EDL mode and am running MSM right now.
Okay, EDL/MSM was successful, then I tried flashing the ROM per the instructions again but got the same error of being unable to flash to Critical. It no longer does the "device is corrupt" error boot loop, but the phone ONLY boots to Fastboot now, no matter what I do.
Best of luck. Hope the pain stops for you soon, hah.
Can you post your power-shell display message for the last flash-all.bat invocation?
Also, are you using .\fastboot flashing unlock_critical in admin priv power-shell to unlock the bootloader after MSM flashing?
Yes, that's what I was using. Unlocking it wasn't an issue, and when I try any type of unlock command it says it's already unlocked, which I believe to be true. But it still refuses to write to critical.
I can post my powershell message when I get back home. But basically it ran fine at first, it did fail at the "reserve" portion which I read to be normal, but after that it kept saying cannot flash to critical.
I just got the phone today so I hope it's not already bricked. But the fact that I got it out of the "corrupt" loop gives me hope I can fix it. Is there any place to download the stock T-Mobile ROM so I can try and start over? Assuming it will even let me flash it. I couldn't find any by searching.
One observation I found to be very interesting.
The device should have been locked by the MSM tool through EDL flashing; yet, your device shows it's already unlocked.
I think the issue is still with your EDL flashing process as it should lock the bootloader then use flashing unlock critical to prevent critical partition flashing errors.
Also, your device is not bricked as long as you can still perform EDL flash. Just kept going and you can get it working without having to EDL flash anything else.
I see, thanks for the insight. So just so I don't mess anything up further, exactly what steps in what order do you recommend I perform?
My first instinct is to keep trying the EDL flashing until you can perform flashing critical unlock properly.
If things keep on failing, try to change your PC, driver, or other environmental variables.
It's just a painful process of elimination that you have to stick to.
Also, unless there are potential hardware issues, flashing like this shouldn't carry any more risk to brick your device compare to just using your device regularly. You aren't changing the hardware/software that is responsible for facilitating EDL.
EDL is fine, unlock_critical is fine, but flash-all gives me the same 'Flashing is not allowed for Critical Partitions' error on some partitions, and then I get stuck on the T-Mobile boot screen after. I'd think it wouldn't be the TMo screen by that point, right?
I've gone through this twice with the OEM cable and a different cable. The device was up to date with the latest TMo OTA before I started.
I'm about to try the TMo MSM to see if I can get it back to a working state.

Let me know what you find. I didn't even know there was other versions of MSM so I'll try that as well. I'd love to just at least get mine out of only being able to boot to Fastboot.

Your 7T should be on the stock recovery screen when fastboot reboot fastboot completes. If your device boots into T-Mobile boot screen or bootloader, something is wrong with your env on PC.
You should never see T-Mobile boot screen at any given time during fastboot flashing process.
The final reboot should complete the conversion and boot into the intentional version OS.

Question Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40 brick

So for context I messed up and flashed to boot twrp and now I'm trying to my phone gets out of fastboot but i cant...
So what i did was: "fastboot flash boot_a twrp.img" and "fastboot flash boot_b twrp.img" and now it is stuck on fastboot... so I tried to flash_all.bat from V13.0.8.0.SKHEUXM and V13.0.9.0.SKHEUXM and both gave me this error when this line was executed:
fastboot flash super images\super.img error: cannot load 'images\super.img'
By the way I can still flash twrp into boot and it works but gives many error on mount metadata and root...
So I could use some help to unbrick this phone thank you...

Your problem with not being able to run flash_all.bat might be a something with your PC, the SDK Platform Binaries (outdated version?), your USB-cable, your USB-port, or maybe you just need to disconnect/reconnect.
I recommend OrangeFox Recovery: https://orangefox.download/device/alioth
The recovery.img from the ZIP can be booted with fastboot boot recovery.img
Thank for the help guys but I din't try miflash tool tried it and it worked

I'm not the OP.
With the bootloader unlock you can flash any version of stock rom, EEA, Global, etc, and lock the bootloader.
Except if you have a K40S or you have to let the bootloader unlock.

OK, original Tools and Firmware cannot Flash in locked BL!! than you can Flash in Recovery or in EDL Mode!! you stuck at Fastboot Mode so you cant Flash via Recovery!!! or you use fastboot in Terminal and test the following commands!!!
Boot Recovery via fastboot

Miflash unusable with the bootloader locked. (Yet noted on the OP).
Regarding your last post, the command syntax is wrong and it will not change anything.
For EDL mode, you don't know, it is not necessary to open the phone to enter EDL mode and anyway, it will not have permission to flash.
QPST or QFiL Tool from Qualcomm may work but not on this device (too recent) and Sahara is a very sensitive program and requires some experience to avoid errors such as:
ERROR: function: sahara_rx_data:277 Unable to read packet header. Only read 0 bytes.
ERROR: function: sahara_main:983 Sahara protocol error
ERROR: function: main:320 Uploading Image using Sahara protocol failed

This is not the subject of the thread. (do some research).
If it is impossible to enter recovery or fastboot mode and if it is not a HW problem, the phone is in EDL Mode.
It will not appear on the PC unless you install the Qualcomm drivers and will be detected by Miflash (in Fastboot mode, no need to log in) on a com port (login mandatory), but you will not have permission to flash (requires a special account).
This permission is not needed on very old devices.
Until the OP has answered my questions, I could not provide him with a possible solution.
