Question Wireless charging at 80W not 100W - Honor Magic4 Pro

So this is not a big deal, but it's been bugging me since I got the phone.
The 100w charger is plugged into the base station, fast wireless charging is selected in settings, the phone was recently sent to honor due to a broken screen, they also changed the mainboard and battery.
It's been happening since v6.0 and I'm on 7.1 now.
Wired charging is at 100w, so what could be causing wireless to charge at 80w and not 100w.
If I turn of fast wireless charging it charges at50w.
Thanks for any help.

In wireless charging it's 50 W since Android 13 and 100 W by the native charger for me.

It was 80w even on android 12 for me.
Go into settings, search wireless you will see "wireless fast charging speed mode" click it and check if "wireless fast charging speed mode" it on.
If its not on, please turn it on and then check with the wireless charging what speed you get 50w, 80w or 100w.
Thanks.

auto power on when charging?

is there a way to have the tablet automatically power on if the battery dies? or to force a reset without getting to the power button?
i use my nexus 7 as a in dash h/u and atm have the fiberglass mold with a small hole for a needle or stick to go threw to hit the power buttong when/if it freezes or dies. but i would like to just skip that.

there is a fastboot command for auto power on:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2496079
don't know for the reset.
i also have my nexus mounted in my car, and the fastboot trick works for me.
what I'm wondering now is if it works but when using a Qi charger.

thats a very good question. i have a qi charger here. i will try it out. after i do this patch.
cool let us know. i already put an order for it earlier today, so i'll cancel it if its not any better than my otg+charge cable.
also do you have any temperature issues with the qi charger? just saw some posts on that on the forums

just tested the patch, works great in the car. the qi charger does indeed turn the tablet on as well and no heat issues for me. i do have my tab underclocked to 1ghz and undervolted. not sure if that makes a difference in bat temp though

yes. says its charging just like normal.
i wanted to go ahead and throw this out there but it seems that when charging with wireless charger and it hits the full marker and the tablet stops accepting a charge, the wireless charger will not start charging again unless its unplugged and plugged back in. idk whats up with that. im assuming the tablet just rejects a charge after reaching full and it cant tell the wireless charger to start again? or maybe the charger never actually quits but the tablet doesnt know the wireless charger is still there to continue taking a charge? not sure but either way its pretty annoying seeing as how i have it glued to the back on the tablet and the power is in behind my dash so i cant just unplug it very easy.
for me it seems really tricky to find the sweet spot where it starts charging.
also, i couldn't get it to charge with any charger/adapter without the official wall plug
is yours working with a car charger?

yea. using a dual usb car charger, with 1 output being 1A output and the other being 2.1A. i have the wireless charger connected to the 2.1 and a bluetooth hands free connected to the other. charger works fine until its done charging. i have mine directly in the middle of the tablet. idk if it really differs charger to charger but i use http://www.amazon.com/UPGRADED-Wireless-Charger-Charging-Qi-Enabled/dp/B00C40OG22 maybe the charger your using in the car doesnt have enough juice? try maybe a 1A or higher charger.

I had the same problem. Try a new cable between the power adapter and wireless charger. Get a high quality cable, usually the thicker ones are better.

Wireless Fast Charger ???

Is there a wireless fast charger that works with the G6? Every ine I have tried only does standard charging. Even the Samsung works but it won't fast charge. Any options?

no, just the lightning bolt for charging. That's it. It's not "fast" charging wirelessly. But honestly, only about an hour, I can get a charge from about 35-40 %. But, when I plug in the cable the fast charge symbols show up. and it's DEFINITELY quicker.

That's exactly what I have been noticing. I tried both the G6 and S8 on the samesung charger: G6 said it was standard charging. THe S8 says its fast charging bu tells you it will take 2hr to go to full.

The LG G6 does NOT support fast (wireless) charging. So there isn't one it'll work with.
Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
Wireless fast charging isn't really fast charging. Not the same way it is with wired fast charging at least.
I believe it only charges as fast as a regular charging cable, which is still faster than standard wireless charging.
Try using a regular non fast charging base, see what the charge time is, then try the fast charging wireless charger, if the times are similar, then it's fast charging.

Who needs wireless charging with QC 3.0 unless it's overnight

Does the S9 support Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 or 4.0+? Or even QC 3.0?

I haven't seen this mentioned at all or not sure if the s8 supported qc 3.0 or Power delivery but does the S9 support QC 4.0 or 4.0+ or even qc 3.0 or Power Delivery like the Pixels?
According to GSM Arena, only Quick Charge 2.0 is supported...

QC 2.0 in a 2018 flagship phone is blasphemy.
Apparently USB-PD is also supported but is throttled.
Seems like samsung is treading lightly when it comes to battery, who could blame them.
The Note 8 supports Power Delivery, so I assume the S9 will as well.

While I see that it only is rated for 2.0, I've gotten used to 3.0 with my LG phone. The G6 charges fairly quickly. I would miss the fast charging speeds if it isn't as fast as the LG.
I'm looking forward to any fast charging aspect since my current phone doesn't have any of those features. Since Apple hasn't "invented" it yet...

Oh yes... my bad forgot they do have that function, just with the included accessories it still doesn't "fast charge" because apple wants you to purchase the $30-50 cable or wall charger to make it happen.
I noticed that charging takes around 30mins longer on my s9 compared to my s7. I'm not sure if that's because it might have a bigger battery or they've purposely slowed down charging to prevent an explosion lol. The phone doesn't seem to heat up while charging like it did with my s7.

By chance where you using the phone while it was charging? It will kick it from quick charge to standard charge if the display is on.

True...ish.
I use Anker's 30w charger (and I do use Apple's USB-C to Lightning cable). It wasn't that big of a deal for me because I needed a new work/travel charger setup anyway.

No, it is not. Not even my S7 Edge did that. Fast Charge stays regardles if you have the display on or of, if you're using the phone or not. I heard (but not confirmed tho) that this happens during WIRELESS CHARGING. This I don't know and cannot say if it is true or not. But the fast charge with the original Samsung wall charger will not switch from "fast" to "normal" unless it's an issue
When fast charging my charge voltage wont go above 7.5v when the QC2 spec alows 9v and 12v.
There was annoying sound coming out from the usb port of the S9+ when i plugged the device using Anker QC3 charger.

Curious to hear other experiences, but my T-Mobile S9+ is very erratic with PD support. Using Anker's latest five port charger with PD, my S9+ will start indicating "fast charging", but will always drop back to "cable charging" at a very slow speed. Hmm.

On my S7, and I'm pretty sure the Edge uses the same charging technology, it'll switch from [email protected],6A=~15W to [email protected]=~5W after I turn on the display, just because it says fast charging that doesn't mean it's actually doing that. Have you tried it yourself using a USB power meter ?
When it switches, the notification also change from "fast charging" to "cable charging" or something like this.
If it is still displaying "fast charge" I really doubt that Samsung would charge it normally. More than that, it would be something everybody will brag about and be a well known issue and it is the first time I hear about it. For wireless charging yes, I heard this...but never for cable charging.

There are results when you google it, for the S7 and S8, I guess it's not that big of a deal because it displays "fast charging" and because people expect the phone to charge slower when active. Fast charging while being used was also the big selling point for "Dash charge" the fast charging tech from OnePlus.
It also says so in the manual on Page 12 :"You cannot use the fast charging feature when the screen is turned on. Turn off the screen to increase the charging speed" http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/c...G935_UM_EU_Marshmallow_Eng_Rev.1.0_160219.pdf
But to see it with your own eyes, just get yourself a cheap USB power meter and measure it

How long does it take to charge with the 10W one? Mine is also 10 watts but seems slow to me?
I'm using Samsung circular charger I got with N8 and it works fine. You do need to position it properly, but once I do that it's fast enough for me. Main advantage of wireless charging is not fumbling with cables and saving wear on USB port (I had at least 2 USB ports broken in normal use on my older phones/tablets) since repairing it is not as simple as it used to be (older phones you could take back off and just plug in new board). Wired charging will almost always be faster, so I use wireless to top it off and wired charger if it's almost empty and I'm short on time.

I'd estimate five hours for a full charge. I usually sleep about 6.5 hours, so it's plenty fast enough.
Does anyone know what wattage the duo charger puts out? It seems to roughly align with the 15w USB charger. 1hr40mins from 20% charge
15W charger will be the fastest. I am leaning to buy the anker one for $30

found out that fast wireless charging only works for me when phone is horizontally. maybe my case is a little to thick at the bottom so my phone is not reaching the correct position for fast wireless charging vertically.
I'm pretty underwhelmed at my Note 10+ wireless charging speed. Even with the pricey Samsung 15W charger it feels the same as my old Note 8. I know wired charging has a 45W option but I was hoping the wireless charging would be faster as well. Am I missing something here...?

I was off here because at some point, probably after traveling, the charger had ended up plugged into an inadequate adapter. Full charge on correct adapter is around 3 hours. I also just received the Samsung 15 watt. It claims it will charge from 50% in one hour while the 10 watt says 1 hour 32 minutes.

The different battery sizes might have something to do with the speed.
The Note 8 only has 3,300mAh versus the 4,300mAh on the Note 10+...
That's a hell of a difference in size so if it's taking the same time I'd be pretty happy...

An excellent point I hadn't considered - thanks. I would agree.
I'm using the round samsung fast charge that came out with the S8+. First time using with my note 10+ yesterday and charged from 60 ish to 100 in about 45 mins. Give or take.
As long as this one works I will keep using this one vs getting a newer one.
