[ROOT][ROM][TUTORIAL] Rooting and modifying the LG G2 + softbrick help

Let's admit it. Your new LG G2 is running 4.2.2 and that just isn't enough. You want 4.4. Well you will have to wait for that. With CyanogenMod 10.2, you can get a near AOSP device running 4.3. I tried to make this an easy tutorial by using terms everyday people can understand. NOTE: THIS WILL WIPE YOUR APPS AND ACCOUNTS OFF YOUR PHONE! You will retain most of your internal storage, however. By the way, the "Knock-on" feature will only work to turn your phone on as of this CM build. Also some help at bottom if you soft brick phone (aka it turns on, but doesn't regular boot or boot into recovery. Lets get started:
Prerequisites:
1. Latest build of CyanogenMod (for now on CM) *DOWNLOAD THIS ONTO YOUR DEVICE IN THE DOWNLOADS FOLDER*:
Verizon WirelessAT&TInternationalMake sure to support the mod. By far one of the best roms out there.
2. Download Google Apps or "Gapps". Make sure to read the text on the download page. Then scroll down to the table and download Gapps for CM 10.2 *DOWNLOAD THIS ONTO YOUR DEVICE IN THE DOWNLOADS FOLDER*
Gapps3. Make sure you have a custom recovery. TeamWin Recovery Project (TWRP) is Highly Recommended. Download the latest build (most likely 2.6.3.2) *DOWNLOAD THIS ONTO YOUR COMPUTER*
VerizonAT&TPlease support TeamWin. They really outdid themselves with TWRP.
4. The Root (ioroot10). All credit goes xda member thecubed (aka IOMonster). Original thread. *DOWNLOAD THIS TO YOUR COMPUTER, EXTRACT FILES"
ioroot105. You will need Android SDK to push your TWRP recovery to your phone *DOWNLOAD THIS TO YOUR COMPUTER, EXTRACT FILES* This might take a while to download.
Android SDKOk, so you should have 5 downloads: CM, Gapps, TWRP, the Root, and Android SDK. CM and Gapps should be saved to the downloads folder on your SD card on your phone. Extract ioroot10.zip and Android SDK files and I recommend putting TWRP, ioroot10, and the SDK onto your desktop.
Bottom Line: CM and Gapps are on your phone. TWRP, Root, and SDK, are on your computer.
Step One: Rooting
Phone is unplugged
1. Go to Settings>About Phone and tap build number 7 times to unlock developer options (it will give a message if you do this properly).
2. Go to Settings> Developer Options (this should a new category) and make sure USB Debugging is enabled.
3. Plug in LG G2 and let drivers download.
Phone is Plugged in
4. When a message comes up asking what type of connection you want, choose internet connection>ethernet.
5. On the status bar, there should an icon that looks like the android icon with antennae (get it - deBUGging). If there is not a debugging icon, try changing the usb connection type. You may have to change it to Media Transfer.
6. Once connected with debugging enabled, shift-right-click in the ioroot10 folder on your computer and select "open command window here".
7. Type in adb devices: <file source>\ioroot10>adb devices
8. You may get a message saying the daemon had started first, but it should say "List of devices attached" with your device labeled under the message. If no message appears saying your devices is attached, troubleshoot (disconnect phone, disable debugging, enable it, plug back in).
9. Now close the command prompt.
10. right-click root.bat in the ioroot10 folder and select run as administrator.
11. "Press any key to begin"
12. The command prompt should say "looking for devices". Now look at your phone and you should see a message from the computer requesting permission. Tap "Yes". If there is no message, close the window and start from step 10 again.
13. The command prompt should now list your phone and carrier and ask you to unplug your phone, disable USB debugging, enable USB debugging, and plug your phone back in. Do this and continue.
14. Another message will come up asking you if you want to install SuperUser (su). If you choose no, you will not root your phone and the process will stop. NOTE: THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO CHANGE YOUR MIND!.
15. Press continue and you should get a message saying "done, enjoy your phone!"
By now, you have rooted your phone and we will now install TWRP as a recovery partition. Here is an awesome video made by ZetaTango if you still have questions.
Step Two: TWRP Installation
PHONE IS PLUGGED IN AT ALLTIMES DURING THIS STEP
1. Extract Android SDK .zip package if you haven't already. Place the TWRP .img file you downloaded (openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.2-g2vsw.img) into \[android sdk bundle name]\sdk\platform-tools.
2. In this same folder, you should see an application called adb.exe
3. Do not start this app as all you will see is a quick command prompt window with a lot of text. This won't damage anything, it is just useless.
4. What you need to do is shift-right-click in platform-tools folder and "open command windows here"
5. Copy this code one line at a time (ignore what is in parentheses):
adb push openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.2-g2vzw.img /data/local/tmp/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.2-g2vzw.img
adb shell
(IF YOU DONT SEE A #, type su to get it.)
cd /data/local/tmp
dd if=/data/local/tmp/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.2-g2vzw.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
exit6. This should work if you've placed the TWRP .img file in the platform-tools folder.
7. DOUBLE CHECK THAT YOU HAVE CM AND GAPPS IN YOUR DOWNLOAD FOLDER. If you don't, you're screwed after the next step.
8. Type >adb reboot recovery
9. This will reboot your device and start it in recovery mode that should look like a very primitive version of android (not really)
Now your phone should be in recovery mode and plugged in. As long as CM and Gapps are in your downloads folder, you are doing fine. Sorry no video for this step.
Step Three: Installing CyanogenMod w/Gapps
PHONE SHOULD STILL BE PLUGGED IN
1. On the home page of the recovery launcher, select "Backup" and make sure all boxes are checked off. Slide to to backup. Wait for it to complete. Tap home button when it is complete.
2. Select Wipe>Advanced Wipe and make sure ONLY these boxes are checked off: Dalvik Cache, System, Cache, and Data. Swipe to wipe. Wait for completion and tap home button.
3. Now select "Install". Your CM and Gapps should be located in your downloads folder.
4. Select your downloads folder and tap the CyanogenMod file. Then tap "Add more zips" and tap your Gapps file.
5. Once your CM and Gapps have been selected, swipe to flash them. Wait for process to complete.
6. When the ROMs have been flashed, select Reboot System and your phone will load with CyanogenMod 10.2
You should see the CyanogenMod loading screen and then make a CyanogenMod account and set up your AOSP LG G2 phone. Here is a video for this step by OfficialSoftModder. Yes, he is using a Nexus 7, but it the exact same process.
Hope you guys were able to do this with ease. Please comment any questions and I will be sure to answer them. WHAT? YOU BRICKED YOUR PHONE??!!?! Lucky for you, as long as you didn't kill the battery, you should be able to save your phone.
1. Unplug bricked phone.
2. Hold power button until device shuts down and for 2 seconds after the devices shuts down. plug in phone. While, plugged in, it will turn on.
3. .Turn off again, then hold power and up sound at the same time to enter download mode. Go here and folow the directions.
4. Start all over again. Your phone after this will be unrooted and back to factory settings.

[Nexus 9] [ROM] RemixOS 3.0 for Nexus 9: Simplified Installation

Hi folks. I'll start off with some disclaimers.
I'm not part of the Jide team or in any way affiliated with RemixOS other than that I was given permission to post an "easy install" package here.
I cannot fix bugs. If you want to tell me about bugs you are welcome to, but there's nothing I can do about them. This thread *may* be monitored by Jide team members, but I cannot guarantee timeliness nor thoroughness.
I am only here to support this thread in regard to "How To Install It". That said, I will try to assist anyone with any issues that I can. I can't fix bugs, but I can answer question and may be able to resolve some issues.
This process WILL WIPE your device, so be sure to back up any important files beforehand.
Now that all that's out of the way, let's get to it.
If you haven't heard about RemixOS, here's a little intro: http://www.jide.com/remixos
Remix is a different kind of Android experience.
The only way to install RemixOS at this moment is through fastboot. I took their firmware files and simplified "flash-all" batch script and packaged it alongside ADB and fastboot. If you already have ADB and fastboot, you can download the firmware directly from Jide and install just like always: http://www.jide.com/remixos/devices/nexus9
If you don't have ADB or fastboot, or just want to speed up your install process, keep reading.
You will need an UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER to do this. Unlocking your bootloader will wipe your device, but so will installing this ROM normally, so again be sure to back up important files. Click the spoiler button in the instructions below to see the additional steps for unlocking your bootloader.
Pre-install: Enable "OEM Unlocking" in Developer Settings. To do this: go to "About Tablet" in Settings. Tap "Build Number" seven times. You'll see a notification that you are now a developer, and now you'll have a "Developer Options section in Settings. Go into Developer Options and enable "OEM Unlocking" by flipping the toggle.
1. DOWNLOAD EASY INSTALL PACKAGE:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=92087
2. Unzip the package. Just the .zip file you downloaded, no need to unzip anything within the original .zip file.
3. Boot your Nexus 9 into bootloader mode. (power off tablet, hold "Volume Down" and "Power" buttons simultaneously for 4-5 seconds. You'll see a white screen with multicolor text if successful)
4. Connect tablet to PC via microUSB cable.
To unlock bootloader, if necessary:
A. Hold Shift and right-click within the unzipped folder containing ADB and fastboot tools, then click "Open a command window here". A command prompt will pop up.
B. Type
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
C. This will wipe your device and takes a few minutes. If it reboots afterwards, get back into bootloader mode to continue.
5. Double-click "flash-all.bat", the batch file within the folder you unzipped from the package.
6. Wait for a while. It takes a few minutes. Do not unplug the tablet or turn off your computer during this process. It will reboot automatically when complete.
Congratulations, you are now running RemixOS 3.0!
A few notes for modders:
I was able to root using CF Auto Root.
TWRP works fine for flashing some .zips, but remember this is a heavily modified AOSP so not all mods will work.
I have not tested Xposed.
Layers do NOT work.
If you install a custom recovery or modify /system you will not be able to install OTA updates, you will have to flash the entire package manually.

What method did you use to get CF Auto Root to work? I ran it, and have SuperSU installed, but don't have root, it says there is no SU binary.
How do you have twrp? I have flashed twrp and when I reboot to recovery, I just get a blank screen. After some googling, it looks like Remix doesn't have recovery in the same way stock Android does.
For some reason I ran CF twice the second time it worked. But not the first I hot the same error you did. After that TWRP installed and boots up.

How to fully bootloader and root the Redmi Note 8 Pro

If this belongs in another location please move it for me. This is instructions for twrp install and how I did it with so many questions about it.
First by no means am I the developer of the links I provided.
I don't remember where I got them but with plenty of research through different sites and finding the right downloads, I successfully completed everything perfectly with both twrp and root sticking.
This process worked perfectly on my International Redmi Note 8 Pro with Global Miui 11.
1. Unlock the bootloader by following these steps:
Start developer mode by going to: Open settings - About phone - click on Miui version 7 times
Go back to settings page and scroll to Additional settings - Developer mode will be on the bottom
Open Developer mode and tick OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging
Under WebView Implementation you will see Mi Unlock Status
Open Mi Unlock Status - Agree on Permissions Required and Add account and device
2. Go to https://en.miui.com/unlock/ and register your device with your mi account information and wait 168 hours till bootloader unlock is allowed. When time comes around you can unlock by using https://www.xiaomigeek.com/download-mi-flash-unlock-tool.html tool which you can download here.
3. After your device is unlocked now will be the fun part.
4. Download Twrp.img - [url]https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-TwMZERIzwoq3KOQ5C3_3MPU5cZwSU0s/view?usp=sharing[/URL]
5. Download Magisk from ******************
6. Make sure ADB 15 second installer is installed on your computer prior to step 7. - [url]https://androidmtk.com/download-15-seconds-adb-installer[/URL]
7. Boot to fastboot by powering down - press and hold both power and volume down till fastboot xiaomi rabbit comes up.
8. Go to C Drive and locate adb folder - open up the folder - make sure nothing is highlighted and while having your mouse in the center of the folder window - press shift and right click. This will open a popup for PowerShell.
9. Type in fastboot flash recovery and drag the twrp file to the PowerShell window where ever you placed the file.
10. Most important press volume down and power until fastboot shuts down and quickly pressed the volume up. Do not release the power up until twrp comes up twice. After the second time you can release the volume up button.
11. Most likely the twrp will be in Chinese, just choose English and before swiping make sure the read only is ticked. Now you will be on the main twrp screen.
12. Go to mount and choose Data, system, vendor, cust, nvdata, and sd card - press home.
13. Go to advanced - and tick Close AVB2.0 and swipe
14. Go to File Manager and click on system_root, system, and on the bottom you will see a file above vender regarding to booting recovery or something like that. Click on that file and choose delete. This will stop MIUI from reinstalling stock recovery.
15. Back out of the file manager and choose install root.
16. Now you should be safe to reboot the phone without bootlooping.
17. Once you bootup will see Magisk on your second screen. Make sure you update the magisk software and update the magisk root file. I chose direct install and reboot which worked perfectly.
18. After you installed the updated magisk, make sure you go to app info for magisk and allow all permissions. MIUI locks a lot of stuff down but I was able to get everything working perfectly thanks for the long time researching everywhere.
19. If you want to reinstall MIUI 10.4.1 I included this file as well which will include the .bat files to restore your phone - I will update the link once it is uploaded.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will do my best to help out.
Thank you again and happy rooting.

Its an unofficial webiste, you could have no problem with the zip file, but it can be malicious.

And, fyi, this goes to guide, new, discution thread, not to the rom developpement one.

[Guide] Root Galaxy A10 Magisk prenormal rmm/kg state (October Patch- later)

Hi All this is just a quick tutorial to help you all root your devices, on later firmwares
This 100% works ive done it over and over without any problems. I am currently on october patch latest firmware for my A105FN. As you may know Samsung have now added extra security meaning even if you have already unlocked your bootloader after you patch the firmware with magisk, flash patched firmware and reboot you will be greeted with that dreadfull message, Only official binaries allowed and your device will be locked and wont boot untill you reflash stock firmware again. The below will help get you out of the prenormal kg state, and save's you a 7 days waiting period as we dont have any TWRP available for our device at this time. Also note due to the extra security magisk cant be flashed with the whole firmware no more, as each time you flash the firmware your back at square 1.
Note: You will need 7-zip - google is your freind
1. Download odin: https://odindownloader.com/download/odin3-v3-13-3.
2. download the latest stock firmware for your device via SamMobile
3. Download latest Magisk Manager - https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445/amp/
4. Flash latest firmware via odin and let device boot up and finish setting up.
5. Grab Your Firmware AP_A105FXXXX.tar.md5 remove the md5 so its a tar file makes it easier to work with. Copy it to your device storage.
6. Install latest magisk manager, and open check advanced settings to make sure recovery is checked, select install image / patch image and select the AP file you put on your device, magisk will patch and save as magisk_patched on your internal storage. Copy this back to your pc and extract it.
7. Download this https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4818715&d=1568308074 thanks to @droidzer1 and extract the vbmeta.img.
8. Make a new folder on you pc it's temporary so you know where your files are. From the Ap magisk_patch.tar you extracted, copy the boot.img, recovery.img, and the downloaded vbmeta.img from step 7. And place them in the new folder you created, using your mouse select all 3 and right click select 7-zip add to archive, select tar format and name it magisk.tar.
9. Now we have all the files ready back to your device, if your bootloader is already unlocked skip this step and move to the next. For those that havent unlocked there bootloader go to settings - about phone - Software Information - tap multiple times on "Build number" - This will open developer option.
Now in settings at the end, you will have new option "Developer options" - look for OEM unlocking - Enable it, if the OEM switch is not there proceed to step 10. If it is and you enabled it it might ask you to factory reset if not it will be this way to complete the unlock bootloader.......
switch off your device and reboot to download mode.
To put device in download mode - Press Volume Up & then Press Volume Down (Keep holding both) and connect device to PC with USB cable
When device start to download mode, long press volume up to unlock the bootloader. This will wipe your data and automatically reboot.
10. Remove any account you have on your device go to settings, look for time and date automatic time zones, turn it off and set date back 8 days from now (example 30th today change date to 22nd) restart device. Now go straight back into automatic time zones settings and turn it back on. Again reboot device, when device reboots turn it off. You can now enter download mode and it should say checking instead of prenormal that means you good to go. Those of you that had no OEM switch in developer mode please now check.... if it's there enable it and go back to step 10 unlocking bootloader then proceed to step 11.
11. Open odin and select in the ap tab the magisk.tar you created earlier. Plug in your usb whilst holding vol-up and vol-down together to boot into download, press vol-up to proceed. Press start on odin and soon as it finishes and device reboots and you see the bootloader message hold power and vol-up until into stock recovery, select wipe factory reset then select reboot device, this the same as soon as you see bootloader unlocked message hold power and the vol-up together this time count to 7.... and release. Phone wont boot it will go blackscreen and reboot, dont worry this is normal, again do the exact same at bootloader unlocked msg screen hold power and vol-up count to 7... release, now phone will boot and you can set it up.
Note: you will need to reinstall magisk manager and on 1st open it will ask do to additional setup, let it do its thing, then device will reboot,
Remeber every time your device reboots you will have to do the power and vol-up to boot system with root.
I hope this guide help you and a big thank you to @afaneh92 for his original guide

No the twrp that was made for our device, wont work with new versions of magisk, or any newer firmware we are going to have to wait until the the new kernel source is released by samsung unfortunatly, its impossible to say when or if they do.... so its just root for now.

MOTO G STYLUS 2020 UNLOCK BOOT/ROOT all steps easy

Hi guys I know their are threads how to do this but they are all over the place, If you'd like a complete tutorial, that will get your 2020 MOTO G Stylus phone rooted without any errors let me know.
Edit: It looks like people are interested so here goes. The tutorial below is for the 2020 version I tested on Android 10 on two variants. This method once followed correctly will take no more than 30 min tops. Not sure if this will work on updated versions but you could try at your own risk. If this helped you leave a like, if you have any questions let me know.
prerequisites:
PC (duh lol)
Fully Charged Device
Motorola Account (for bootloader unlock purposes)
adb fastboot installed (take note of your folder location especially the platform-tools folder
motorola drivers (link in step 5 if drivers don't install correctly after connecting phone)
Tutorial:
Unlocking bootloader
1. first step is to unlock bootloader(all data will be erased) for this you will need your unlock key
2. go to settings, about phone build # hit a bunch of times to enable developer options
3. once enabled go to developer option enable OEM unlock, disable automatic update (do not update), and enable USB debugging.
4. while phone is on plug into pc to allow drivers to install, also allow usb debugging when prompted. go to where you have adb installed and go in the platform tools folder (this is where I do everything on my phones without errors) hit shift+right click and choose "open command window here" type in "adb devices" without quotes and check if the device is present.
5. now to test if you have fastboot drivers power off phone, then hold power+volume down to enter fastboot mode, plug phone into your computer and repeat step 4 this time typing "fastboot devices" if your phone shows up move on to next step if not download Motorola drivers and install then repeat this step. You can get the driver here and install https://combofile.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=file&id=3396.
6. once your device is detected its time to unlock bootloader, go to https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a sign in and follow the steps, they are simple and straight forward so I won't list them here. Once unlocked restart your phone, set up and proceed to below steps.
Rooting
1. with bootloader unlocked time to get root. download the latest magisk manager (23 I believe) let it install and power off your phone we will use it later. We will be getting the specific boot image for your device through temporary twrp.
2. go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-unofficial-twrp-3-5-0.4155041/ and download TWRP credits to @vache. Place the file in your platform-tools folder.
3. enter fastboot mode (by now it should be second nature) and plug into pc, verify fastboot device connected, by opening command window again in platform-tools folder
4. once verified type the following command without the quotes "fastboot boot twrp-3.5.0-0-rav-sofia.img" be patient, when it boots into twrp, cancel any password creation.
5. go to backup and select storage, choose a sd card, do not decrypt or do anything besides what I'm saying here. it will take you back to the beginning after sd card selected as storage, click backup and select only boot at the very top and creat backup. once done go out to twrp main menu and hit reboot, select "reboot system"
6. now to patch boot, open magisk manager and go to install, it will then give you the option to locate and patch boot.img, however we will be going into twrp backup on your sd card and locate boot.emmc.win (not the other two) once selected hit lets go on Magisk and allow it to patch. your patched boot.img will be in a download folder on your internal memory. Copy that file to your computer and then again move it to platform-tools folder
7. power off device and enter fastboot mode for the final time connect to pc, open command window in platform-tools folder and type the following command without the quotes "fastboot flash boot nameofbootfile.img" hit enter and allow to flash, once completed type "fastboot reboot" your device should now reboot, don't worry if it takes slightly longer than usual.
8. finally go into the magisk manager and let it complete its setup, it should reboot one more time and boom, you have root, remember to use magisk hide, That's it all set. If followed correctly this should only take about 30 min to a hour.
Shucks! I thought this was a tutorial.

I got you, updated tutorial up. Let me know if it helps.
If we have updated to Android 11, such as myself, and want to use the tutorial... Couldn't we just BACKUP (which is needed to root anyways), and do a FACTORY SETTINGS RESET to bring our OS back to Android 10?

I'm pretty sure a factory reset would restore to 11 not 10. As the 11 update replaced the 10 OS altogether.

I'm not sure if a factory reset would take the OS back to 10, you might need to search around for downgrade options. I'd advise anyone not to update to android 11, 10 is great especially with root. I have magisk pass safteynet, and even able to play pokemon go with gps spoof and smali patcher.

I'm on stock and want to flash this rom. I need to start from scratch. I need to unlock the bootloader, I got the email from Motorola months ago, but haven't had time to figure out how to use fastboot. It's been years since I used it. I'm also on Android 11 and I need to find out how to downgrade to Android 10. Any advice is appreciated.
I have an annoying Security Update that keeps popping up saying that I need to restart my device, and that it only takes 90 seconds. I'm afraid that if I restart my device, the update will install and I won't be able to downgrade to Android 10 from 11, and then I 'll be stuck with this stock rom. Can I disable this pop up?
New Version : RPRS31.Q1-56-9-9 Includes Updates of Android Security Patches through 1 October 2021.
I have not turned iff my device or restarted it since the pop up for the update.

Ok if you have your unlock code you should still be able to unlock bootloader. However the first thing you need to do is enable your developer options and enable OEM unlock, enable USB debugging and disable automatic updates that should stop updates you can also go on app info when you get the notification and disable notifications for system updates. If you have an unlock bootloader you should be able to root even android 11

Thank you very much. How do I disable automatic updates and how do I go on app info to disable notifications for system updates? Now a message is on the same screen that says that if I don't restart my phone by the 21st, it will automatically update it.
For downgrading to android 10:
1. Grab the moto flash tool from here
2. Grab the a10 firmware from your device here
3. Unzip the moto flash tool and put the firmware zip in the folder called firmware
4. Plug your device in to your pc in bootloader mode
5. Start the moto flash tool and follow the instructions
(Unlocked bootloader required)

Yes, it's off, and it's been turned off, but I still got a message from Motorola that if I don't restart my phone so that the security patch can update, it will restart automatically on the 21st( a few hours from now).

I don't know of any solution to this but you should be able to update and keep magisk if you let it do the ota update then use the magisk manager to flash to the other slot.

Assuming you have a non Verizon or any other oem that blocks unlocking the bootloader follow the steps from the original post:
(step one makes no sense they wrote it kinda weird)
2. go to settings, about phone build # hit a bunch of times to enable developer options
3. once enabled go to developer option enable OEM unlock, disable automatic update (do not update), and enable USB debugging.
4. while phone is on plug into pc to allow drivers to install, also allow usb debugging when prompted. go to where you have adb installed and go in the platform tools folder (this is where I do everything on my phones without errors) hit shift+right click and choose "open command window here" type in "adb devices" without quotes and check if the device is present.

you can install magisk manager with bootloader locked but there is no sense in installing it on locked bootloader, because when you unlock your bootloader your devices will be factory reset, if you checked my instructions you will see that magisk manager is needed to patch boot.img that you will get from TWRP backup. You seem a bit green about the whole fastboot process, if that's the case I'd advise you to do a little reading up on adb fastboot, which needs to be installed to unlock your bootloader, if you go in blind you can brick your device and I wouldn't want that.

Re: bootlock unlock code email
I went on the Lenovo/Motorola website just yesterday and input the long 5-line code from my phone (required) from SDK platform. Once I did this, the website replied that I will receive email with a unique 20-character bootloader unlock code (this is the part you should check again). Instead of getting a code, the email asked that I first "verify my email", so I followed the directions, clicked the link, the link brought me to their website and I was able to verify my account. Once that happened, the page just kinda froze. So I repeated the process and when I clicked the "verify email" button, it brought me again to the website but thus time to my profile page. There was no Bootloader Unlock Code, nor was I emailed the code as assured as I was, as per their website suggests. I repeated the process a 3rd time but the same thing happened. And when I tried to went back #2 + #3 times, I input all the information again, clicked on the "send email" link (where they email you the 20-character code) I never received any additional emails. I only received 1 email (the first time I input this into their website). So, the site will only work 1 time per unique phone (serial). I called customer support and got nowhere! I have Metro by T-Mobile Motorola Moto G Stylus XT2043-4. I hope you see this and please let me know if you are able to unlock or get a email code as promised (or not). And if you have any information on how else to solve this issue, please let me know. I hope this helps & my apologies for being a bearer of bad news. If I solve this issue, I will respond back.
