Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
1. Waiting time to unlock the bootloader
Q. If I receive the message: "unlocking can be done after 72h or 168h or 360h etc.". Is there a way to skip this waiting time?
A: Unfortunately you have to wait for that time to pass. There’s no way around it (that I know of). It seems like new and never used (to unlock bootloader) accounts receive a shorter waiting time.
2. Unlock procedure stops at 99%
Q: If my unlock procedure stops at 99%, what could be the problem?
A: Most problay you're using two different Xiaomi accounts. You have to use the same account that you have added into the device also in the unlock tool otherwise it will not work.
3. Recommended ad-blocker (for rooted devices)
Q: I want to block the advertisement in all apps, what app can you recommend?
A: If you decide to root your device, then you can install AdAway from here: https://adaway.org/. In order for AdAway to work properly please add in the Magisk App the Systemless Hosts (Magisk/Settings/Systemless Hosts).
4. Retaining the root after ROM update
Q: If I root my device as per point C, E of the AiO and I install a system update in my device, is the root still available?
A: Unfortunately root will be removed after the system update. So you have to repeat the procedure in point C, E.

0. Please don't quote the entire Post no 1 because this thread becomes too long.
1. I'd recommend to go to Xiaomi.eu, first page, they explained very well the differences between MIUI and Xiaomi.eu.
2. Without unlocked bootloader you can't make any system modifications. That's why i started the thread with "unlock the bootloader" (Point B). Ok, i updated Point C.

Hi. Can you provide a link to ofox recovery?

Hello.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I have done everything you indicated. I am able to click on the UNLOCK button, and it starts the process. Still, when it reaches 99%, it stops and gives me an error message: "Please add your account in MIUI's Settings > Developer options > Mi Unlock status", I did it and the phone showed me that the account was added successfully, but when I retry, it shows the same message again.
Any clue?
Thanks again.

Are you using the latest version of the app ? it is - 6.6.510.37 ... check if that is the case.
(as of 25th May 2023)

Hello. Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I am using the latest version of the app.
I bought this phone (Redmi Note 12 Turbo) in Mainland China, but I do not live there. I just want to install the Global ROM, so I can make the most of the phone in my country and besides I do not need the Chinese apps that come installed.
It seems like the phone does not really get added to my Xiaomi account.
I tried another app to unlock the bootloader, but no success either.

You have to use the same account that you have added into the device also in the unlock tool otherwise it will not work. See also point B.6. in Post #1.
Since this question is made by more users, I just updated Post #2, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), answering this question as well.

Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I am using the same account in both, the unlock tool and the phone. Actually, the process begins normally and reaches 99%, but then does not work. I am using Windows 11.

I feel the pone slower after unlock bootloader and install lastest stable eu rom, anyone with the same result?
Can anyone tell me what is the code and version of the original rom come with it?
Thanks in advance

u can try factory resetting the phone and trying again.
NOTE :- You need to turn off wifi and have a sim with data enabled. (I will suggest you create a new account and use your moblie number as login NOT email). If it still doesn't work maybe contact Xiaomi .

I installed via fastboot.
I use universal android debloater (https://github.com/0x192/universal-android-debloater) to debloat - all apps listed are uninstalled.
I use Opencalc from F-Droid to replace MIUI Calculator and Simple notes to replace MIUI Notes.
I would highly suggest you check what I have disabled since you may use some of the apps removed.
Make sure you are not logged into your Xiaomi account when you debloat, as I have uninstalled it and doing so while logged in will cause a bootloop.

Did you try "flashboot boot twrp..." like in my guide or "flashboot flash twrp..."?
And which twrp image did you use?
In any case, if you can still get to the fastboot screen, try booting with the twrp image in Step 4 above (download links in the pastebin link)

Hi, "flashboot boot twrp" wasnt working at all, so i tried "flashboot flash twrp" and all i have is a bootloop. So after flashing recoveru i booted my phone to fastboot and run the command, " flashboot boot recovery recovery.img" where recovery is the custom recovery image and it booted into recovery. Then there is one more step to do that allowed me to finally boot into my os. Its working fine and i still have twrp installed on my phone

MAKE SURE THAT YOUR BOOTLOADER IS UNLOCKED BEFORE DOING THIS OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE
Fastboot roms are flashed through a special tool by xiaomi which can be found: here
You also might need adb drivers which are found: here
1. Open the drivers file and click "y" for every option that it asks for.
1. Install the fastboot tool tool
2. Download the fastboot rom that you wanna flash
3. Unzip the rom to a folder on your pc
4. Open the tool and in bottom right corner there will be 3 options, select "clean all"
5. Click on the "select" button on top left corner and head to the folder that you unziped, select it.
6. On your device enable "USB debugging", "install via USB", "USB Debugging (security settings)", and disable "verify apps over USB" (Developers options are enabled by going to "about phone" then spam clicking the "MIUI version" until it says that your are a developer. then go to "additional setting" and you will find "developer options")
7. Boot your device to fastboot mode by holding down the vol- + power key together until you see a bunny with fastboot sign.
8. Connect your device to your PC and click the "refresh" button on top right corner. (your phone should now appear in the list)
9. Click "flash" and wait until your device boots to the MI logo and 3 dots. (DONT DISCONNECT YOUR DEVICE BEFORE THAT!!!)
10. Wait for your device to boot up
11. Enjoy!
I flashed the Beta using fastboot but its asking for a password. I'm locked out how to I regain access?
edit:
never mind after i managed to change it to English I figured it out

Yeah I've tried one of the threads that includes ADB, is there any other way of doing it?
No.
You can follow my guide here or visit the thread linked above and use fastboot to boot from the rooted boot image. It's really not that difficult as long as you follow the directions properly.
You need to have unlocked your bootloader first but that's always the case.
Hi my friend you just need to unlock bootloader and flash magic zip with the help of fastboot link for magic is below the text. If you do not know how then I can just guide you. Install magic apk v22. Open settings and then select about phone, then press a lot of times where it says build number. Now open developer options and enable usb debugging, oem unlock and advance booting. Now hold down the power button, now comes any choice options select fastboot. Once you are booted into fastboot mode, connect your phone to your PC. Install adb and fastboot tools if you do not already have. Open the folder with fastboot and adb and then press at the top, write cmd. Now a cmd window will appear. Write (fastboot devices), to make sure your phone is connected properly. Now it's time to unlock bootloader. Write the following, (fastboot oem unlock) you now chess like success full unlocked. A warning will appear on your phone if you are sure you want to confirm unlocking. Press yes. (if your touch does not work then use the volume buttons to select up and down. Once you have selected, press the power button and done. Now your phone will reset itself. Set your phone quickly and from select frp lock. Activate fastboot again and open cmd with fastboot Flash now magically via fastboot and reboot.Enjoy your root.

The Ultimate guide to flashing CRDROID A12 for OnePlus 8 Pro

I have written this comprehensive step by step guide on how to flash CRDROID android 12 ROM for the OnePlus 8 Pro. The original instructions do not cover enough detail.
Ensure you have all applicable drivers installed onto your computer by following this video tutorial:
Reset your phone through using this MSM tool to return to Oxygen OS 11: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...l-to-restore-your-device-to-oxygenos.4084953/
Install the application to your windows device
Choose the international version
Turn off the phone. Hold BOTH the VOLUME UP AND DOWN at the same time and plug into the computer. The application will now recognise the phone where you can do a factory reset to Oxygen OS 11.
Install Oxygen OS11 on BOTH Slots:
install the latest Oxygen OS 11 from the OnePlus website, as a local upgrade: https://www.oneplus.com/uk/support/softwareupgrade/details?code=PM1587123976
If the official link goes down, find the file from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oneplus-8-pro-rom-ota-oxygen-os-repo-of-oxygen-os-builds.4084315/
Restore to oos 11 using msm -> unlock bootloader -> download latest oos 11 -> transfer to phone -> then system update via local upgrade -> reboot and update via local upgrade + reboot again
Connect to the internet
Click multiple times on the build number after updating to enable developer options
Enable options of OEM unlocking and USB debugging
Once you press usb debugging, connect your device to your pc -> a window will pop up on your device -> press always allow from device. You need to do this for usb debugging to work.
Enter fastboot mode by pressing and holding the Power button to bring up the Power menu and select 'Power Off'. Once you have done that: Press and hold the Volume Up', 'Volume Down', and 'Power' keys together to enter Fastboot Mode.
Unlock the OEM:
Once you're in fastboot mode after pressing oem unlock + usb debugging toggles -> type 'fastboot oem unlock' -> press volume up + power for yes and the device will reboot.
To install the RECOVERY
Download the file named like this: crDroidAndroid-12.0-XXXXXXXX-instantnoodlep-v8.X.zip and recovery from the officaial website:
https://crdroid.net/instantnoodlep/8
put it in the same folder where your adb files are
Open CMD from the adb tools folder on your computer, and type 'fastboot devices'.

To install custom ROM from recovery
choose "Factory reset"
choose "Apply update"
adb sideload "crDroidAndroid-12.0-XXXXXXXX-instantnoodlep-v8.X.zip"

Thank you. By carefully following your guide I was able to unbrick my 8 pro and finally install a non-oxygenos android 12 build. Other guides did not work for me.
I don't see where recovery.img is on crdroid website?
This guide helped me get crdroid running, however I'm having severe issues getting ANY google apps to run. I sideloaded the ones you recommended, but play store wasn't installed, play services wasn't installed. After I downlaoded those apks it did nothing and they dont work. My biggest problem is I can't link my google account to my phone in the settings, I don't see 'Accounts' anywhere in the settings; Which has all my contacts. So at first I thought it was a success, now my phone is literally useless to me until I get my account linked to my phone which seems impossible with crdroid.
How can we do this with TWRP install? If not, why not? Why do all the instructions I see for crDroid use ADB sideload instead of just 'install zip' like every other custom ROM? Also, how do we install Magisk? The usual way via TWRP?
