Question Poco F3 and weird behaviour on A13 - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

When I flash a custom A13 ROM, the adaptive brightness on my Poco F3 stays on 13% (only adjusts when I move the slider but then goes down later), and fingerprint sensor does not appear under the Security settings.
I have flashed full MIUI ROM both 14.0.7 and 14.0.4 and afterwards, followed the respective flashing instructions of each ROM (BananaDroid, GhostDroid, AlphaDroid, Evo-X) but each time these 2 issues occur.
On A12 custom ROM, I was not having these problems.
I hope someone can shed some light on what I can do to alleviate this.
FYI, I live in Canada and bought the phone on Ali Express which has Russian print on the box. I don't know if this makes a difference or not with the MIUI stock ROM I should flash.
Thanks for any help.

maybe install latest MIUI through fastboot and then try a13 custom ROMs?

I heard about firmware causing trouble with fingerprint scanners, but not removing the option all together, perhaps try multiple firmwares and see if this fixes it?
About auto brightness, do you have anything covering your screen? Maybe that could be the problem
Is miui working well?
Surely if miui on a13 works, then this should be a custom Rom thing

Nothing covering the screen but I reflashed from scratch and now auto brightness works better but still not how it used to be on A12 but it's fine for now. Fingerprint scanner still not available although when I went back to MIUI 14.0.4 and 14.0.7 it was missing from there too so I'm not sure what the problem is. I do have face unlock though.

Mi 5S Fingerprint doesn't work

hello i'm mi 5s 4gb/128gb user
yesterday, i was using cyanogenmod 13 but i want to use miui again
so i restored nendroid backup from twrp recovery
that was start of diaster..
after this. fingerprint scanner mostly doesn't work
sometimes fingerprint scanner work correctly after reboot, it doesn't work.. and sometimes... it works...
i did many many method (global rom, china rom via edl mode, fastboot mode) but everything has same result,
so i looked at my logcat
it says
QFP : QfpThreadMatch::execute: match result -3: QFP_INSUFFICIENT_COVERAGE
with my finger or not logcat said same result
why my fingerprint scanner doesn't work?
is it hardware issue?
sorry for poor english

Maybe placebo effect but people are saying Global rom had improved fingertip detection rate.
If i were you, i would flash as stock as possible, recovery, bootloader, lock status, everything, just to determine software versus hardware failure.
Hope for the best, as this kind of life cycle premature failure freak me out, first stucked autofocus sensor now this!!!

I had a problem which seemed to be hardware related after flashing the Chinese developer ROM and then later restoring a Miui EU ROM from a backup. My problem was with audio - there was no sound coming from the speaker or headphone output. I did diagnostic tests which failed - indicating a hardware problem.
It was only after re flashing the EU Miui ROM that the problem was resolved.

i solved it
i think this was problem of driver
so i needed rollback of driver
first. i flashed 6.10.13 eu rom over 6.12.29
it occurs bootloop
second. i flashed 6.12.29 over 6.10.13 again. and fingerprint works like charm again!
Exists the cyanogenmod for Mi5s?
Still very buggy. We have to wait for xiaomi to release the source code to get nice CM .
The fingerprint happened to me too, it just stopped working.
Flash the stable global using fastboot, it will erase everything, and will be great again.
Don't restore with Titanium backup, I had all kind of weird problems everytime I tried.
One of the worst fp sensors ever. I tried all the tricks mentioned in several places, detection rate stays very low.

Mi5S Fingerprint not working :(

Hi everyone, first of all, thanks for being such nice community!
I've just received my new Mi5S, played with it for a bit and flashed xiaomiu.eu stable (because I was told to not use the 'fake' banggood global rom) , then flashed the latest xiaomi.eu dev (Android 7.0, I guess).
Everything was fine, but I tried to use the fingerprint sensor and it works very poorly, having to press more than 100 times to setup my finger, and then, it was very inconsistent to unlock.
I've tried many roms to try to understand the problem: Ressurection Remix, Xiaomi Global Stable 7.5.25 (using TWRP, flashing over "fake banggood global rom"), all have the same issue.
My question are...
Can i fix it flashing the global xiaomi image fastboot? (Maybe it's a corrupt/incompatible fingerprint firmware?)
Is there any difference from using TWRP and flashboot to flash? (I couldn't install the stable ROM after installing the dev, in order to downgrade, i restored my backup from 'fake banggood global rom', and then flashed xiaomi.eu stable // maybe the .zip doensn't come with all firmware? //
Will my bootloader LOCK if i flashboot? (my phone came unlocked from banggood).
Maybe my sensor is faulty? I guess it was working with the "banggood fake rom", but I tested briefly (it unlocked a few times, at least).
Sorry my english!
This is normal. We need to wait for Xiaomi to fix it.
I saw your post on Xiaomi eu too ?
Fingerprint for mi5s is well optimized now, it only takes 0.5 sec for me to unlock. Try to update your rom.
Well, try to record your finger horizontally.
For detailed how to, check this post http://en.miui.com/thread-439364-1-1.html
Try different techniques when registering your Fingerprint. I found applying a tiny amount of pressure on the sensor worked best for me. You don't need to press it you just have to make sure your skin is flattened on the surface.
Also a mistake I found when I saw my friend registering his fingerprint was he was registering around the center of his thumb, while in practice he used the tip of his thumb.
If done correctly I can unlock my phone scanning my thumb vertically or horizontally even though I registered it only vertically.
Try to install ZCX TWRP, mount persist partition, go to persist through TWRP file manager and rename fingerprint folder to fingerprint-old, after that, as I think, wipe needed.
Same here, have Mi 5s with MIUI 8.0.3.0 (MAGMIDI), received update to 8.5.3.0 (MAGMEID). Was happy to finally receive some update, but everything is pretty much the same. Hoped at least that the fingerprint sensor will perform a little better, but until now its even worse, doesn't respond at all. This **** sensor piss me off, before this phone I used fingerprint all the time... We get zero support from Xiaomi about this fingerprint sensor!! This is my first and last Xiaomi mobile device..
Anyway before reading this thread I considered installing different roms , maybe this stable one from Xiaomi.eu : xiaomi.eu_multi_MI5S_V8.5.3.0.MAGCNED_v8-6.0.zip
But in my understanding that didn't solve it for you, right?

Fingerprint sensor not accurate at all in miui.

Hi everyone
I searched QA and wasn't able to find same problem..
I'm back from Los via flashing full room by mi flasher and finger print does not work.
I can register finger print and and it's no accurate at all unless I revert back to aosp.
Does anyone had the same problem or by any chance find any solution?
I have already tested battery drain solution and fp calibration methods..
Thank you.
I'm on miui 10.0.1 EU and have the same issue. Sometimes I have to try multiple times for it to recognize the fp. Apparently it's an issue with miui 10 itself, hope someone here confirm it.
In my experience the problem is with pocket-mode, the fingerprint-reader is turned on inside your pocket and when the fingerprint-reader hits your leg and incorrectly, register this as an invalid, unlock, after 3 unsuccessful unlock-attempts it instead asks for lock-screenpassword.
On MIUI 10. 8.10.25 it works much better again (not sure if it's completely fixed but)

Well i can assure you it has nothing to do with miui 10
I reverted back to 9.x and same issue exists.
I changed multiple roms including miui custums and aosp based. I flashed persist. Img and tried multiple calibration methods and nothing changed so far and problem exists.

something similar happend to me with miui 9.5, all i had to do was to downgrade to miui 8 and install (via .apk) the fingerprint calibrator (something along those lines) it is only for the TCP? FCP? i dont remember exactly but it doesnt work for the goodix sensor, AND VOILA, i am now on miui10 with no problems on fingerprint (the only thing i am afraid is the arp in miui10 :/ )

Did you downgraded to MIUI 8, used the app to calibrate the FP Sensor and then Upgraded to MIUI 10 Over OTA, or installed the rom tru Recovery? TY!

Screen blacking out after custom rom installation on twrp

I recently unlocked my note 5 pro bootloader and flashed twrp. When i tried to install custom rom, the rom installs and every thing is fine until you reboot to system. The phone reebots and shows mi logo and then blacks out. It never turns off or do anything. I could hear the sound of phone locking and unlocking. I could even take screenshots, i can hear the sound and it even shows up when you connect the phone to computer. But nothing ever shows on screen.
Twrp versions: Tried all latest twrp as well as orange and redwolf recoveries.
Rom used: Pixel experience Pie
Hope someone have a fix for this issue.
Advanced thanks as well..

yes, customer kernels that supports miui , you can
try NONAME kernel
try Agni 3.2 with MIUI Support
In huaxing panel no custom kernel is supported
One dev is working for huaxing panel and he has made a kernel based on stock kernel and wifi fix module to use with custom roms

Willow device - wake up display broken on AOSP images

Is there please someone who can help me?
I have an unlocked willow device.
But when I install any custom rom (AOSP like - Android 12 or 13) the display will not light on first power button press after going to deep sleep or display lock. It will take several button pressing, until the display will come alive/wake up.
Sometimes it seems, that the display is unlocked, but is at lowest brightness level. The hardware is okay. I changed the power button pcb already.
The latest MIUI firmware rom (from xiaomifirmwareupdater.com) runs without bug. Its a A11 image.
Is this a bug maybe in the vendor file? Is there any other solution than staying on stock rom MIUI A11?
Thx for your feedback in advance!

if it's not a hardware issue it's the firmware or you did a dirty flash ?
No dirty flash. Always clean install. I think that there could be a major bug in all custom images for Willow devices. I tested several custom rom. None worked correctly.
Is there noone else with a Willow and the same problem?
And is it the vendor Image part i should flash over custom rom's vendor part? Then the custom Image does not boot anymore...
Any help is appreciated. Thx!
This evening I mixed up dtbo, modem, efs partitions from MIUI official A11 rom with a current A13 custom rom. Now the display works as expected.
Maybe I messed something up myself some months ago. Now i have a backup of a working system. That is good!
Gonna try flashing some custom A13 rom(s) again and test If it will break the "display wake up" again.
