Hi everyone,
Well my doubt it's really simple as you can see.
I tried to search on forum and internet, but I didn't found nothing solid.
Only achism (Incluing Mi official Forum)
It's really simple to Lock/Unlock the bootloader on Mi 5s, a simple command on promt and it's DONE. You lose nothing, no need to flash NOTHING.
I heard about bootloop, but does it real? Anyone here already tried it?
Why Am I asking it?
Well, if my bootloader is unlocked, I dunno why, but even with magisk Applications can detect some incoherence in my smartphone.
Even passing all steps of SafetyNet, the apps detect.
I think it's some flag on build.prop or another option available on MIUI Rom (and ofc they will read it to check everything).
My GF has magisk and custom recovery (Unlock Boot) and the same apps don't detect on her phone and works normally. (I configured both)
So I would like to know if it's really possible use a Custom Recovery and Magisk and just block the Bootloader again...
If you have the original bootloader from the original rom you can lock it. If you don't, the phone will stop booting with lock and custom bootloader.

No. Even using stock ROM after unlock bootloader and Install TWRP and lock again we got a message "the system has been destroyed" on Mi 5/5s/5x.
It's a Soft Brick, but if anyone on future want to try it and before do it, found this post so, stay away.
TWRP = different bootloader.

I flashed it and the bootloader is now unlocked.
Are there any custom recoveries for the G8 so I can root it?

Yup, I unlocked mine as well. Hope someone develops custom recovery and rom.

You can root without twrp in fastboot. No custom ROMs because most people can't unlock bl...
Just tried with my LMG820QM. Does not work. I was hoping it would because the G8s isn't on the list either.

How did you get the KDZ? Can you send/upload it?
Edit: I downloaded a KDZ and got it extracted using https://github.com/steadfasterX/kdztools.

Anybody with unlocked bootloader already tried to flash a gsi?
According to the G8, v50 telegram group gsi are fully working on the g8 without any special adaptions.

How do you lock the bootloader?
I bought an unlocked LG G8 ThinQ US Cellular version here in HK. Works perfectly fine but I receive the bootloader is unlocked message when loading up. As a result (or at least I think it's linked), when I try and install any banking app for Citibank on my phone, it insists my phone is rooted and I cannot use it. I have checked with as many different apps as possible and they all insist that the phone is not rooted. I don't need/want the phone to be rooted and I want the banking app to work on my phone, so I am trying to lock the bootloader. Apparently, this is doable using ADB and loading in fastboot, unfortunately, I cannot load the phone into fastboot mode. Any ideas on how I can lock the bootloader as it's not clear how it was unlocked in the first place? The version I have is LMT600US.
Also, if anyone knows whether locking the bootloader will somehow render my phone unusable - that would also be helpful as I clearly don't want to do that? :good:

Well, you can first try to install magisk manager and try to enable magisk hide (the default settings for play services and for your banking apps). If it says you don't have magisk, make sure you try and backup your boot img first and then click direct install. You can also hide magisk manager in settings. If you still don't pass safety net, clear data for Google apps and look up the pxl4xlprops module
I have an LM-G810EAW with Android 10 (V20a-EEA-XX) and tried to unlock the bootloader. Got unlock.bin from LG and tried to flash it, but got the message:

I need Lg up & Dll for my lg g8 s LM-G820N
Hi guys, I have recently update my P20 to the latest version available (10.0.0.171) on an EML-L29C432 and i was looking to flash TWRP and all i achieved is to boot on TWRP but without touchscreen.
I also figured out that we are now not allowed to flash partitions and to lock or unlock our bootloader.
Also, with the hiden dial code, in USB's behaviour, we have 3 choices, Default, Manufacture and HiSuite mode (which is the default one). Do you think there is a workaroud with that ? Or it's only for the OS session ?
As we are not allowed to flash, i can't even flash the patched recovery_ramdisk through Magisk
So do someone of you, was able to flash TWRP on EMUI 9 or EMUI 10 ?

Hi, first of all you have got to check if your bootloader is unlock.
If you bought this phone soon enough and unlocked it in the meantime you are good to go mais it seems that your bootloader is not unlocked... And now it is gone for good :crying:.
Huawei has made the worst decision by not allowing people to unlock their bootloaders. I heard you can try some tools (search in the Q&A section) which are not free to unlock your bootloader.
As long as it is locked, you won't be able to flash ramdisk of system....

if you wan to use it to root using magisk, make sure to first do a
fastboot boot ./magisk_patched_somethingblabla.img
then check if the phone boots without any issues and only then do a
fastboot flash boot ./magisk_patched_somethingblabla.img
you get the point

Yes and tutorial to fix is the same as rmg 7. Need a tool to recalibrate. U can find it on xda

Have you done that yourself? Because I've read elsewhere you just need to get latest update, relock bootloader then unlock and the lock screen and fingerprint will work with an unlocked bootloader

I see, I think you are in the same situation as me, the only way to get back screen lock and fingerprint is to relock bootloader

Have u tried it? I found 1 solution on xda that we can delete some files in data/system but needs working twrp. Will try the same way but using adb method later when i get home

Can you post a link to it? It's possible to delete files via Magisk (well, kinda delete). Or maybe it's possible to patch some app to remove bootloader state check

Anw i found only locksettings.db only. Delete it and restart but nothing happen
Remove /Bypass Lockscreen With Recovery
Recently when i restored my data using TWRP i faced a problem at lock screen. I was not able to unlock my phone with the pin i set Earlier..So after so many attempts i was able to find a solution for that problem.(works with pattern,pin etc)...

This instruction is for those who forgot their password and wants to remove it, they shouldn't help in this case. Can you try and find the app which checks bootloader status? You can start with searching the error message string which is being printed during adding fingerprint

So can you unlock your phone or it's not being unlocked like at all?
Have you tried wiping the device (that should happen automatically after unlocking bootloader, but still)? Also, did you recalibrate fingerprint sensor?

My phone now has no screen lock. I already tried recalibrate fingerprint, pass but nothing change. There are 3 circles in the test but cant tick it some how. Another guy here have the same problem as me and we are still finding the way to fix it

you have to fix it manually
After unlocking bootloader on this device, I can't set any form of screen lock.
Error message: "Screen lock was already changed. Try again with the new screen lock."
Anyone know a workaround as no screen lock is very inconvenient
ive been trying to get around this for a couple days now. Its a bit frustrating since most fixes for this issue from previous devices reference files or directories that don't exist. I believe its due to the hardware gatekeeper.

seems so, the only way I've found to fix it is to relock bootloader.
Have you tried recalibrating your fingerprint reader?
All redmagic series phone has this issue after unlocking bootloader
There is an old guide for this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...er-print-after-loss-data-calibration.4132961/) recommended to buy the cheap calibration device thing on ebay/aliexpress

Failed, I adjusted the pass message but still the error
This is troubling, cant use google pay if unable to set a screen lock
My set is arriving in two days time, will tinker with it as well :/

It is possible to lock and keep root, but flashing vbmeta to avoid signature check. I don't know if vbmeta patched is available for this though.

I know a bit of Chinese, however I've tried to dechiper it, but I used a little Google Translate and had to change some wordings.
Unlock BL fingerprint loss:
This problem usually occurs on the old version of the system. If your mobile phone unlocks BL, the fingerprint pattern and digital password appear.
Unable to open the problem, please try to download the latest version of the system here, and perform a local upgrade. After completion, directly enter
Enter the fastboot flashing lock, and follow the prompts to lock the BL. If your hardware is not damaged in any way, generally
After locking, problems such as fingerprints can be solved. After confirming that the mobile phone is up to the latest version, and all fingerprint functions are normal, try again
Unlock the BL once, and the fingerprint and other functions will return to normal.
Go into mask ROOT:
Starting from Android 13, the partition for magisk maintenance must be init_boot. From the card package of the same version, we extract
The init_boot partition and the boot partition are completely useless here, but it is recommended that you make a backup if anything goes wrong.
After brushing the init_boot and boot partitions into errors, you can also use the backup file to flash into the correct partitions to restore your phone from a bricked state.
Card FASTBOOT mode:
After unlocking BL, brush in the boot or init_boot file that is different from the system version, and your phone will be stuck in fastboot

I have tested this and it does NOT work. I flashed latest CN ROM V2.24. Locked the bootloader fingerprint worked but then after unlocking it still fails. Also tried many other official ROMs. Don't waste your time like I did

Lol. I've tried it on my Nubia Red Magic. Hahaha, doesn't work. May be a security feature lol.

Last night I finished setting up this phone. Signing into work with the Microsoft apps was the last thing, and Microsoft encrypted my phone. Since then my fingerprint reader is no longer calibrated.
