Is it possible to install security updates without upgrading to Nougat (currently on 6.0.1)? Before anyone suggests just upgrading to Nougat, I have some Xposed modules that are only stable in M and they are very important to my workflow.

Simple answer, possibly, if you use a custom ROM that's on andoid 6 it might merge in the security fixes. But other than that, no.
Answer to your question would be sultanxda rom for op3 which is regularly updated but if you want to remain on oxygen os then I don't think it's possible
I am also thinking about this option too, lots of phone company only have update their ROM for 1 year, that makes every android cell phone is not trustful after 1 year.

I do, I'm actually on Resurrection Remix but they moved to N quite a few patches ago. Are security updates something only the ROM dev's can include in their patches or is there a zip or apk I can flash in recovery?

Not that I'm aware of. It might be theoretically possible, but there's no way I know of to do it.
You can update your kernel to a custom version including further security fixes and update all your applications via Google Play, but there are some components of the ROM you can never update without a newer OS.
With time the small security holes will escalate to major bugs as cyber criminals take advantage of those to steal private data.
I updated my new Lineage OS device for the first time yesterday to the May 9th build and I had to redo my Tingle patch (which I use to prevent having to use Google crap on my phone).
I don't really care about new features (unless its a theming engine), so should I continue to update my phone weekly, or just check the release notes to see if any security patches are pushed?
If I hold off on updating, will it make it more difficult to get updates OTA in the future?
(I realize this is a major noob question, this is my first Android device.)

Can be more changes than just the android security patch level that affects security. I've seen stuff in change logs that indicates replacing the old built-in browser to some new webview based browser, encryption related changes and stuff.
If you don't have any serious issues you could use LOS Changelog or Lineage Downloader for downloading and review changelogs before updating. That could help with knowing if a new build is good for you or if you could skip it without losing out on important changes.

As anyone received an update to May's security patch? Even Samsung devices are more up to date, I thought by getting a Pixel this would be guaranteed... It seems there are issues with updates for this phone, I mean, pulling this device from the beta program, for the Android Q and no updates so far, strange...

Yes we all know. June you'll get everything. Probably on the 3rd. It's been announced over and over. Google search for Pixel 3a security update shows this:

You could have done that yourself in less time it took to post this.
Without waiting until June when they issue patches for this device, the only way to update your security level at this time is by manually flashing the Q beta from the full factory images (you can only do this if your device is bootloader-unlocked).
Otherwise, as the other user stated, updates will start in June, including Q beta OTA enrollment.

PS: of course I unrooted and relocked the bootloader, but it's not enough apparently
ppx29.159-24 is the latest build I dont think any other carrier has a newer build or are you trying to install that build, if so I had a problem with it and it hard bricked my device after trying to swap slots in fastboot

Surprising but true. Moto has not released any updates for this device with any later security updates than July 2019. So much for a flagship, from 2017 August though.

No. Not unless you compile the kernel from source, and managed to port the rest of Android framework. Though specs could be similar, each "device" - screen, touch digitizer, sensors, camera, etc. will have different drivers.
I see that on the OnePlus forum it mentions a roll out udpate for Android 10, but I still have not seen this on my phone.

OnePlus... They didn't announce anything since their first release of Android 10 in May. In August FAQ OP5 isn't even mentioned anymore.

Guys, even if you download the 9.0.11 build from https://www.oneplus.in/support/softwareupgrade/details?code=PM1574156155944 and flash it, you shall see the OOS 10 update from system update. If not from system update then download the oxygen updater from play store.

Bite the bullet and manually update. I know it's a PITA; but, if there's no OTA for your phone and you want to upgrade to A10, just go for it. You'll be better off with a fresh install anyway.
Same situation in here. Waiting for Android 10 since May (when stable release rollout was announced).
Edit: I found way too many people talking about bugs on Android 10 (battery drain, fingerprint sensor delay, call recording bug). I'm not sure, but maybe staying on OOS 9.0.11 is the right call.
If someone in here is already on OOS 10, please comment on that. Thanks

Im on OOS 10, blu_spark kernel and very happy, if there are any bugs (there probably are), I don't notice them...
I had someone give me a reply on another post on XDA that 10.1 is coming OTA to the phone, so I'll hold out for now, I'm in no hurry...

Nah man . That's the release notes for the hydrogen os for 5t .
So the new oxygen os will be having same release notes .
5t won't receive 11 , officially not in china nor in the rest of the world .

I suggest looking in the official OP5/T Android 10 announcement thread. Over 400 pages of complaints and questions and OP doesn't give a ****. The thread is like a disaster area. The first Android 10 update was pulled because of that many bugs. Shortly after they pushed the update again with some hotfixes but with the same version number and without announcement. Then they pulled it again.
Maybe in the next 1-2 weeks there will be an update with some fixes and a more recent security patch. Hopefully not only June like in hydrogen OS but I don't expect much to be honest. I'm almost done with OP
btw I installed OOS 10.0.0 and rooted (to install dotfix + Gcam) and I'm pretty happy with it.
also, google pay stopped working after root. I guess I'll live without it since dotfix is really worth it IMHO.
