[Q] Full wipe stock rom

So..
AFter couple of tries i have to ask you guys : how to fully wipe my phone after and before flashing 4.1.2 stock via odin ?
I did wipe data/factory reset in CWM but internal memory is still there... So it was not full wipe.. Although when i flashed rom i got that initial setup, but internal memory was intact...
So, how to do full wipe before and after flashing 4.1.2 stock via odin ?
Thanks in advance

Hi, to make things easier for you. Download Zoot's Super Wipe Script at the Android Development Section. It's a few pages back but it's worth a look
Was searching for Zoot's Super Wipe Script at Android development.. Cant find it...
p.s. and if i do full wipe before and after flashing rom, wouldn't that erase my rom because of system wipe ?

To answer your question, yes it will. And do a full wipe BEFORE not after flashing a ROM.
Here's the link for the script. Merry Christmas!

Are you trying to go back to stock? Or flash a custom ROM? Sorry, didn't get you there.

Ah. You will be able to flash it via Odin. But do not wipe or use the suoer wipe script AFTER. Just do it before flashing. Use the Mega Wipe from the AROMA of Zoot's script.
But be aware, it will erase your internal SD card as well so move every important thing to the external.

Flash stock rom.
Then go into recovery and do a factory reset and cache wipe.

When you say stock you're sure this time it's a note 2 rom right? Just mention which stock rom you're trying to flash. Your best bet is to get into recovery, do a factory reset, format, wipe dalvic cache then go into download mode and flash stock rom through Odin from your PC.

Have you used pit ??
there is no meaning to use bootloader,Phone,CSC separately if your ROM consist it on single ROM file
- First flash pit only
-Then flash stock ROM with pit

I have tried pda flash and also with pit I also tried flashing csc and remve btery 30sec and hold batery 30sec still same problem.
Hope you can bear with me sir and I hope we can still fix this
Try one thing
Flash custom recovery like philz
Flash this wipe tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983489
Then wipe with that, something not reseting device.
First try with super wipe, if not works then do mega wipe
If you doing megawipe then you need to flash stock rom immediately after megawipe, as it will wipe rom too.

Try this:
1. flash TWRP recovery using Odin (if you don't have it already)
2. Backup all files you need to your external SD or PC
3. Open TWRP recovery and go to wipe
4. Click all buttons you see including System, Format disk, internal SD, Cache, Dalvik, Factory Reset.. But don't wipe your external.
5. Than flash a ROM using TWRP using a flashable zip ..
6. That should make your device better..
I had a problem of my phone every time I start it, it like resets everything like I never used it.. But that worked for me..
You may try it..

It never does.
No recovery will have an option to delete efs.
I am 100% sure.
Also make sure you have an efs backup.

If your efs backup is in the external..than no it will NOT delete it when you format disk.. External SD will not be touched when you format disk.. I always do that when I want to flash new ROM..I put my ROM on external SD than format disk and other things than I flash from external SD..
And to be 100% sure that it will not deleted anything from it, take it off..format and do all wipes..than return it back (make sure you restart the recovery so it works)

[Q] Do I need to wipe preload before flashing AOKP/CM?

I am currently on T-Mobile JB stock obtained from Kies. I then odined TWRP 2.5 and rooted. Now when I wipe data/factory reset in TWRP before flashing AOKP/CM do I also need to wipe preload? I made two backups in TWRP: One with preload and one without.

Hey dude, are you sure? Could I do manually format of bootloader in my mt6582 and then download the bootloader with sp flashtool? Could you answer to my problem linked in this post, Manually Format the booloader for "PTM changed" problem ??

Some beginner questions

I have a Bell SGH-i747m.
Is it ok to flash i747 roms to an i747m? I've been doing some reading and it looks like what could go wrong is that it could change the modem. In that case can I install any i747 rom and if I find issues change the modem following the info from this thread?: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831898
I've already installed Cyanogenmod using the automatic tool. Can I flash roms while Cyanogenmod is installed or should they be flashed from a stock firmware? (as a side note I have installed and flashed Clockworkmod Recovery)
Are there any issues flashing roms based off of other carriers? (Rogers based rom flashed to a bell phone)
How do I make sure I'm not downgrading my bootloader and bricking my phone?
Finally, are there any comprehensive lists to find nice custom ROMs and their features or is it just kind of a game of picking through the forums? What are your favorites or what are you using currently?
I'm not an expert but I'll try to answer your questions.
You can flash i747 ROMs onto an i747m but you cannot flash i747 modems and bootloaders on an i747m.
There is no need to return to stock before flashing a new ROM. You may have to wipe cache, data, Dalvik, and system before flashing the new ROM.
You can flash stock Rogers and Telus ROMs to your phone and it will work.
Make sure you are aware of a file's contents before flashing to ensure the bootloader and modem are designed specifically for your phone.
Imo, modems should never be included with a rom. And thankfully I have never come across one, so you dont really have to worry about that.
I agree with audit13 on everything but one small point. Unless under specific circumstances, I dont feel formatting /system before flashing a rom is a good idea. All roms do that as the first step in the flash so its already covered that way. But more importantly, ive seen lots of people format, then have an error and cannot flash their rom. They are then left with no OS on the device. Ive also seen several times where they ended up having to flash their firmware via odin and start over completely.
I know some will disagree with me on that, but I just dont see any real benefit to manually formatting the system partition.
Thanks guys
I'm looking at Dirty Unicorn http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/development/rom-dirty-unicorns-t2844362
Assuming I don't have to worry about the modem, is there anything I have to worry about with the bootloader? I don't see one specified and I don't know what bootloader I would have right now.
Also I've been reading that gapps are just google apps. It sounds like you just flash the gapps file the same way you flash the rom. Is this right?
And lastly, is there ever any issue with flashing a rom thats based off an earlier android version than the one you are currently using?
From a terminal windows, this should tell you the bootloader on your phone:
su
getprop ro.bootloader
Thanks
My bootloader is I747MVLUEMK5 . Looking in the about phone section in settings that is the same as my baseband. Are the bootloader and baseband related? How would I tell if its compatible with Dirty Unicorn?
Look at the updater script in the ROM as it will tell you what bootloaders are supported.
You can always try flashing and see of it works. Make as nandroid before flashimg the new ROM
I was able to flash DU and I'm using it now, however I'm experiencing some huge battery drain (25%/hr normal use)
I think its possible I did not clear everything correctly before I flashed. I've read the old rom can conflict with the new one if its not completely wiped which might kill the battery. I did a wipe fata/factory reset, wipe cache partition, and wipe dalvik like most guides described.
Reading the post on the DU G+ space https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/109738128866939227235 however, it says
6. Wipe everything. This doesn't mean just system or factory settings. This means EVERYTHING!
Tap on Wipe/Advanced Wipe and check the following and swipe to wipe
- Dalvik Cache
- Cache
- Data
- Internal Storage
- System
- MicroSD (some devices don't have this option)

I'm not sure how to wipe data, internal storage, micro sd, or system. I saw there were some options to format these areas in CWM, but I didn't want to do anything hasty.
I'm also confused because if I format both my MicroSD and Internal Storage I will have deleted my rom file, and my phone doesn't seem to connect to my computer while in recovery if I need to put the file back on the phone.
Choose "format data". This will wipe the entire /data partition including your internal sd card, so make sure youve backed up everything first!

Thanks! To be clear, this means I'll store my backup and rom on my external SD card and direct CWM to the zip from there?
If you are asking if you need to store your backups on external sd, yes. It wont touch the external storage unless you specifically tell it to.

If bootloader is locked - in my opinion there is no option to backup data without knowing a password.
Unlocking bt will also wipe data, so in this case, this data is lost forever unfortunately.
