Help turn on Samsung Fold with Power Button Damaged - Samsung Galaxy Fold Questions & Answers

I need help turning on a samsung fold with a damaged power button. I just need to know if there are other button or ways i can turn on the phone just to back up everything.
Share any ideas, I'll try at my own risk.

Follow the buttons to a flex circuit and find test points near where it plugs into the main board.
In the factory they need to turn it on when there is no side button circuit board connected.
There are probably three test points together for 2 x volume, 1 x power.
Try grounding them.
If you have any resistors it would be better to try through a 1k resistor in case there is something else there.

[Q] Help please! Galaxy Nexus Bricked!

Replaced the usb board (flex cable?) and the speaker plastic piece. When plugged into power, battery icon comes on and shows it's charging. Tried to boot the phone, it won't boot up. Tried to get into download load (power + vol down), nothing.
This is a friend's phone I am helping with. The phone had just come back from Samsung warranty which told my friend that they won't be able to repair the usb port because the water sensor had tripped. So, he bought a usb flex cable with usb port and the speaker plastic piece. I just got done helping him with replacing the usb as well as the speaker piece.
Any suggestions?
I can't believe no one else has experienced the same problem.
Anyhow, I had a usb jig and was able to power it on to download mode. Tried Odin to flash factory stock. No go, it stops at connection. Finally got pit file to load, and then stock image through pda in odin.
Now, the phone won't respond to the power button. Pressing power button doesn't do anything, no matter how long you press it. It's as if the phone doesn't recognize that you are pressing the power button. After pulling battery, the only way to power it on is to put in the usb jig and then press the power button. So, it tells me that the phone recognizes power button was pushed only with the usb jig. At all other times, the galaxy nexus doesn't recognize when the power button is pushed.
We are considering the purchase of power button flexible cable. Would it repair the problem of the phone not recognizing the power button push?
I'm not familiar with the usb jigs, but how did it go from no connection to connection? Also, if the power button worked when attached to the jig, then why would those same wires that didn't work before work now? Doesn't sound to me like that power button cable.. What are the chances that this phone had more serious water damage? Did ya'll use the bag of rice trick, or just let it dry normally?
My girlfriend handed me her phone. The power button does nothing. Phone is off and charged. When I plug it into a computer or wall charger I get the charging sign. Any way to get the phone up and running through computer? I was thinking if the power button is dead, then if I can get the phone turned on with the computer I can push a swipe to wake type program bypassing the power button and making the phone usable.
Have you tried just holding the power button and wiggling it around a bit? Or even a bit of duster around it? It sucks when the only one of three hardware buttons stops working. I had an older phone that i'd have to hold the button at various angles, pressure points to get it to turn on. If you do get it on, try smartscreen on lite.

[Q] So I broke the power button flex cable

What should I do?
There's no way I can afford a new motherboard, and it seems impossible to remove the power button flex for replacement without instructions, re-attaching a new one would be fairly easy I imagine, but I desperately need help for this one.
Are you absolutely sure you've broken it? Did you fix it? I have seen a couple devices where the flex cable pops out of its connector (especially if you go disassembling the device) but ever so slightly that the power button works only sporadically. The fix seems to be to reconnect the flex cable and the power button starts working.
torn power cable!!

I have replaced smashed screens and uodated the battery, then after I needed to hotwire the battery so I could finish flashing a ROM, I have carelessly managed to slightly tear the power ribbon up near the switch button. GRRRRR
I am about to attempt to drop a slither of solder across a slit I'll make with an exacto knife and see if I can get anything. It will power on as I added a switch in the NiMH battery pack I made up and was surprised that I couldn't make any selections while I was doing stuff in the bootloader functions. Bugger. I mabaged to relock the bootloader as I was going stock for something, then after power drain (I now realise that it doesn't charge your phone while in the bootloader screen) and now with a re-locked bootloader, I cannot select 'yes' to unlock the bootloader again suggestions? ...meanwhile, I'm about to probably waste my time attempting McGyver ribbon cable surgury.
I did actually manage to repair a ribbon cable using enamelled wire (30 awg) and a microscope but eventually just replaced the cable.
I bought a cable similar to the one you want for approx £5 which arrived 2 days later.
The on off switch and the other end are just held on with 2 sided tape, so will gently peel off by prying beneath them. I did think the other end would not come off.
My advice replace the cable.

[Q] Power button issue

A friend of mine has a 2013 Nexus 7 and claims they spilled water on it, and the power/lock and volume keys would not work. I opened it up and removed the volume/power flex cable from the zif socket, and tried letting the tablet sit in some rice, and the volumes keys will now work, but the power/lock button still does nothing.
My question is, if I get a new volume/power flex cable, do you think it will solve the issue, or is it more likely that the problem exists in the zif socket or circuit board?
Maybe it shorted, in that case new flex cable wouldn't help..

Power ic location

Hello. Does anybody know the location of the power managment ic? I have an issue, when connected to charger, it will charge for a split second then stop, then start again. Never charging. It is not the port, as I can move the cable around, and it will not affect the charging.
I have seem the power port, and it has some ic's on it, but I am not sure if one is the power management ic. If it is changing the port should work.

When you plug the cable into the phone does it sit in the hole tightly or can you wiggle it a bit?
If it wiggles you have something like lint stuck in the port. Power off your phone and dig around in the port with a sewing needle to remove the obstruction.
I have opened the phone, damaged a corner of the screen in the process, and found that it is the connector that goes from the power port to the main board. If I apply pressure it will charge without blinking. I have ordered a new power port board, and sadly now I have to find a new lcd.

Broken power ribbon cable

Hello guys,
I have replaced my battery today, but it seems as I was struggling to remove the glue I have ripped the side buttons ribbon cable a little, therefore the power button is not working and I can't power on the device.
When I plug it in a computer, I can see it charging. In device manager it is showing up as DVD Device - HTC Android Phone USB Device and as a USB Mass Storage Device. I have tried fastboot and adb and they are not responding.
I only want to power on the device, so I can use it, because for a new cable to arrive it will take like two months.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
EDIT: This is the part where it got ripped.
As I was looking for a cable from ebay, I noticed something. The cable there on the bending has only one track!
The first thing I immediately tried was touching the two parts of the cable to try to reconnect it, so I can at least power the phone on, but it didn't work.
What I was also thinking is to put some kind of conductor between the rippage, but I thought there were more than one path on the circuit and that I can put electricity where I don't want it.
Now, looking at this one circuit path do you think putting a solder wire in between could transfer the power up signal? Or is it not a good idea? Is it possible that there are more connections inside beside that track?
P.S: I am not a very good electrician, I have soldered some pins, but I really have no deep knowledge in that area.
EDIT: I have fixed this by buying a new module from ebay and replacing it.
