xda as an oscilloscope? - Windows Mobile Software Development

 Hi all, I've just joined the forum. Does anyone know of a pda oscilloscope program like SPECTRA PLUS OR WIN SCOPE for the PC?
Any links to electronic programs for x/pda would be of interest.
Has anyone attempted their own interface or modified eg IRDA for longer range (tv remote)?

im sure you can replace the LED with a 'brighter' (tho invisible) LED!
...but, how about a DIALER/DIAL TONE DECODER program aye?
somethin that can decode dial tones and display them?!
say... IF you have taped phone calls, and u like to know the # dialed

Thats a great idea. Has anyone been able to boost the IR output?

Send GPS SMS

Dear all.
I found in my Eten X 500 an application I like much.
It is called locations SMS. You can look for your Coorsinates and send them
via SMS to others. ( I.e. for looking in Google Earth )
Best regards

Tested on HTC P3300 and works well. At least gave me some co-ordinates. Now to check with Google Earth

The X500 also has an application called 'Skype Switch'. From what I understand this enables Skype to be used by the front speaker used during normal tleephone calls, not through the rear 'handsfree' speaker. Can this application be used on the Artemis? Maybe it can be posted in the download area if it works.

Universal - Caller Id "name" Working On Nokia Hs-12w

Took me a while to find it last night (I'm at work now so unable to do anything till I get home this evening)..However I have the 1.24 trial software downloaded.
If I can't find the link then I can try to post the software on here (If I'm allowed AND when I find out how to do it!).
To get Caller ID working on my XDA Exec (UNIVERSAL)
USERS PERFORM THIS AT THEIR OWN RISK (IT WORKED FOR ME) BUT MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU....
I am running Helmi 3.5 AKU ROM with Radio 1.14 on an O2 XDA EXEC
1.remove any previous of Jetware.
2.Install SDKCERTS.cab
3.Install Jetware 1.24 build
4.Run NOKIA HS-12W.JCF on your device via your storage card...It will be recognised as a Jetware settings update and then run it to update settings.
5.I then Soft Reset my device...
6. Enabled CallerID in the jetware software
7. Applied registry HACK (Do a forum search) to be able to change my contact to FIRSTNAME LASTNAME i.e with NO COMMA
and voila...It worked for me....
I'll try to POST the link when I get home.
Kaiser Sosey
Sorry guys...Im searching for the Jetware 1.24 build link but cannot find it..
Found it by accident the last time....but I do have the downloaded file...now how do I post it up here?

Link to the beta test site is here:-

Cool Thanks....
Kaisersosey: Can you explain what else the HS-12w can make for us Universal users? E. g. can you operate the media player and listen audio files and see the tarck name, file name, id3 tag, etc., can you browse the folders from HS-12w.
Thanks

The only thing that HS-12W (with jetware) can do is to show thw caller ID. No track name, clock, text, etc...

Does this mean that it is not possible at all to remotely operate the media player on the Universal? Or just the display of the HS-12W does not show the status of the player?
You can, without any problem, remotely operate the media player. Pause, next track, previous track, etc...You simply not have acess, in the display, to the track list or the track name, or, even, time...

[REQ] Disable hardware buttons on incoming calls while keeping HTC's answering GUI

Hello,
I've been searching for a while, but there are no way to disable the Hardware Answer/Call Off buttons on incoming calls, while keeping HTC'slider (which is perfect for me) and without doing triple tap tricks or complex slides combinations...
s2u2, PocketShield, TouchLockPro, LockMeLite and ThrottleLock's developpers release great and very complete apps, but I don't use use the screen lock functions, because it never happens to me that the power button was being pushed when I put the phone on my pocket, so that would be a useless lost of time to lock/unlock the screen with an app.
All I need -and I've seen that I'm not alone- is an app which only lock the hardware keys on incoming calls w/o doing/adding any other stuffs.
It would be great that a developer could do that, and be sure that I 'd be the first to make him a donation!!!
Anybody...?
The fact is that I'm sure it can be done, because PocketShield and s2u2 do this very well (locking hardware buttons on call), but they both add an answering interface wich does not add anything to HTC's interface and does not offer the possiblity to desactivate the ring.
The soft that we're looking for would be extremley light 'cause locking keys on call does not require any ressources, so that wouldn't involve any battery drain, neither any memory consuming... in one word : a must!!
Software like that would be great. However it should have one important option included, that is auto-unlock hardware keys for the headset when connected otherwise the headset answer button will be useless. Is there anybody willing to spend some of their precious time to create this excellent app for us???
Yeah excellent remark! I think we've got our requirements document ^^

I was searching for exactly the same!
Maybe it's possible to find what changes happen in registry when you set up pocket shield to disable answering by hardware keys and then just apply does to registry without installing any program ...or maybe it just a matter of creating some script for mortscript that would block hardware keys on incoming call with exception for headset connected?
Is there anybody here more knowledgeable than me who could do that or create a better solution?
I am interestet for a solution too...
+1
interested also...

It's a good start! I have Araxis Merge which is able to do powerful file comparisons. All we need is a tool to extract the whole registry as a simple file in order to compare the one created before with the one created after a pocketshield/s2u2 installation+configuration.
Do you know if this type of soft exists?
I found this little advice in Blackstone ROM section maybe this will help you export registry files for comparison. It is a part of Ugumba post #5 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=485542
To figure out the registry settings for a certain program or option, there are two ways:
- manual search, typically fast and has a very high success rate by first visiting HKLM\Software and HKCU\Software, then looking for the vendor or software name.
- registry diff, slow but very accurate, requires PC (for now). Export HKLM+HKCU (using multiple select in Resco regedit) *before* you make the configuration change, and *after* you've made the change. Copy the two reg files to a PC and do a diff (WinMerge should do a good job). Alternatively, you can use a Windows tool like Registry Workshop or CeRegEditor to export the registries, but I think the first way is faster, and you can actually prepare the exports on the move, then do the diffs when you come home.

Good idea, i'd like to have a solution, so....
( Lol Forum Actif Power !!!!!! )
I'll try to contact A_C (s2u2) to see if he can give us some tips!
Keep watching the LmL (LockMeLite) for feature releases.
If you notice the No 11 of the USER REQUESTS you will see the feature you want!
I believe very soon LmL will make you happy

Good news!!!!
We are counting the minutes!!
(Edit: I was reading LockMeLite thread)
But looks like your app is for a lot more thank locking hardware buttons on an incoming call.
It show unread sms, mail, etc and locks the screen as well, and not only when you receive a call.
I think that we all are asking for is an app that ONLY lock the hardware buttons ONLY while an incoming call is in progress.

Will TPII Support 2-Way Recording

I'm seeing all kinds of stuff out there about full duplex capabilities on the TPII. Does this mean I can finally record all my conversations without having to go to speakerphone?
I would prefer to record all calls to businesses like Time Warner, ATT, Banks, and ESPECIALLY insurance companies....where just the threat of recalling (and playing for the insurance commission) a recorded conversation has yielded very positive results in the past. Neither my Tilt nor Fuze could do it and I'd love to upgrade with this feature in mind.

I´m sure it will
Even my Old Universal support 2 way recording perfect!
I would have assumed my Fuze would have had this feature given the fact that so many other handsets support it - but no dice. Good thing I was given the Fuze as a free replacement for my 3rd replaced Tilt so I will still qualify for upgrade when the TPII comes out.
I would just like to see if anyone can answer this conclusively - maybe I can call HTC and ask? Would they even know how to respond to such an inquiry?

Well....
Give it a try and let us all know!
Sent a support email to HTC...will post the results as soon as I receive a response.
In the meantime - if anybody knows for SURE, please let me know.
I never knew such a feature existed. Way to take the initiative js, I look forward to hearing what HTC says.
Can anyone confirm if there is support for call recording and any apps out there that will do it.
I was hoping to find a away of call recording and attaching it to a calender entry automatically.
Thanks
I'm confirming that the TP2 has 2 way call recording. I just used the notes application while in call and it records both me and the other side of the line.
Is there an application like those available on Symbian phones to automatically record conversations and after the call ask if you want to keep it?
I would suggest Resco Audio Recorder or Vito Audio Notes.
I can confirm TP2 supports 2-Way recording, but you have to make some chenges to the reg to enable it:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\AUDIOGAIN]
"AUDIO_DEBUG_FLAG"=dword:00000040
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"RingingAddressId"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev]
"VocRecPath"=dword:00000002
After this, perform a soft-reset, then you can use any In-Call recording software, like Vito Audio Notes.
This reg hack works on my Touch Pro2 Hong Kong Chinese Version.
Just wondering why you had to do the hack when whtrbt7 reported no issues recording?
Are both sides clear and have level volume? I'm guessing you don't have to use the speaker for this to work right (like I did with my TP and Tilt)?
It might depend on the ROM of your TP2. Mine came with 2 way recording and as I check the registry, it looks like the entries jzhok posted are on there already. Others may have to put the registry edits in for 2-way recording.

The Path or the actual key? You may have to make the key or part of the path if it's not present.

Dialogue partners almost can't hear me? An AudioPara3 problem?

Hi,
unfortunatedly my dialogue partners almost can't hear what I'm telling them via HTC Touch Pro 2 although I'm not whispering. Is there a way to improve the microphone sensivity?
Could it be a solution to change the AudioPara3.csv?
The parameters
B23,CE_REC_INC_MIC
B24,CE_REC_EXT_MIC
C8,CE_REC_INC_MIC
C9,CE_REC_EXT_MIC
F23,CE_REC_INC_MIC
F24,CE_REC_EXT_MIC
make me fell that they are related to the micro. Are they? What are they for?
A page with a closer description of the AudioPara3.csv might be helpfull to learn more about its functionality. Any link?
In addition I'd like to know, what the following files on my HTC Touch Pro 2 are for:
AudioPara.csv
AudioPara3_ATT.csv
AudioPara3_Boot.csv
AudioPara3_O2_V4.csv
AudioPara3_TMO.csv
AudioPreProcessTable.csv
Could it be, that they are called instead of the AudioPara3.csv? Is this the reason why my AudioPara3.csv-Modifications don't show any reaction, if I implement the modified AudioPara3.csv?
Thanks for any hints
Georg
