Hi all
A few of us Moderators have been getting PM's that in my case have not been dealt with due to the fact I am not always on the board.
All of us do this for free and in our spare time, and over time we move on, get new toys, or even go back to a real life without a keyboard under our fingers.
Please try to understand that some of us are Bias (I admit to it I have a BA and am not intrested in many of the other sections).
Thus I for one do not read all posts and all sections, I feel this is true for others, like I said I feel this.
We all however try to check the trash and keep the news clean.
For this reason we need a form of communication that is not based on a person but directed to a group and in this case its the Moderators and Admins.
It is with that motivation in mind that I have opened this thread and made it sticky in the hope that you are able to post issues that you think that at least one of us should deal with.
Please note that this board does not tolerate cracks, serials, pirated versions or the posting of software that should have been aquired by legal means and we will remove (delete) them when found. Please help us keep this site clean by posting links of that sort in this tread as well as telling us if you have found anything on the ftp site.
Please use this thread, use and edit the wiki and remember this board would not be as great as it is without YOU.

Let me first thank you for moving to a much better forum application than phpBB.
I hope one day we can have access to a mobile friendly theme from owr phone. If implemented, I would also like to request that the theme option be stored in cookies rather in the database so we wouldn't have to enter User CP and change the theme every time we log in from our mobile or desktop.

Try on another different user account? Look at my screen shot. The Page-Info gives me the LOCKED status. And, I only see the View-Source not the normal Edit button. Something wrong?

Just wondering, with the recent spamfest that seems to be taking place is there any pattern developing in the IPs used that would allow an IP ban to be placed? or are they using anon proxies? I know from my own experience as an admin on another forum they can be a pain, but they really seem to be targetting this place.... A friend of mine is a developer for vb and if there is anything that could be of use I can ask him if he would be able to create a plugin to help you block it.
In many ways this is one of the best sites I have seen (apart from the one I am an admin on of course, we all take pride in the sites we run heh) and I would like to assist in any way to stop any of the users being taken in by spammers like that. (yes, I know most of the users here are smart enough not to fall for it lol) Certainly it's one of the most informative on the HTC devices.
I don't see Cingular in the drop-down list for profiles.... found this a bit odd....

Seems I got overlooked....
It's bugging me that I have to show AT&T as my carrier, as apparently carrier isn't an optional field, and Cingular isn't available in the drop down menu....

Seriously! Who is the brainiac behind this? I'd like to know... Main forum page has nice new banner on top. GREAT! but when you have drop down boxes like SEARCH, than UNFOLD you do not COVER them with a banner!
Doesn't anyone TEST stuff when they put it on the site? Do you just copy paste a banner URL and job is done?
Just block them. I block as many adds as I can because my bandwidth sux. The page still comes up good afterwards.

I don't want to block banners, it's a flash banner anyway. I don't even mind one banner. What I do mind is the fact that whoever put this there is clearly not doing their job right. FIX IT!

I think it's a problem on your end because my menus and such (Quick Links and Search) open up OVER the banner, not under it... What browser are you using? I'm using Internet Explorer 7 on Windows Vista.
Here on Server 2003 and FF some banners are under, some are over.

I'm sure the people that run this site have better things to do then fix compatibility issues with banners and advertisments. To tell you the truth I used to run a forum like this. It's not an issue of the code being wrong it's how it's interpreted by your browser. I just installed FireFox to see, and sure enough the menus show up UNDER the banner. That's not the site's fault, that's the browser's fault for rendering it wrong. If it works fine in another browser then use that. Sometimes there is a middle ground, but unfortunatly vBulletin only offers certain types of code and has constraints. Also I'm sure no one wants to pay money to switch to phpbb or invision powerboard. These board/forums softwares have issues to themselves.
However, I agree about the page layout there in ivorh's post, that can be fixed by some simple code changes, but it's not that big of a deal. The PDA list view could be fixed as well I suppose. Meh. I come here to get information, not spending 10 hours wondering why the banners aren't working along with the menus lol. I'm not saying you don't have valid points, but I think you need something better to get fustrated about.
there's a thread on the moderators forum about both issues, but the admins are busy with other things now... we'll try to get things fixed, just have a bit of patience

Maybe if you had posted respectfully, someone might have responded.
As Pof said, the moderators are pulling their own hair out (a la Britney) about it on the Moderators' forum, but the admins have to get it fixed, not the worthless underling Mods.
Frankly, I never noticed the problem - I use an ad blocker by default. I probably shouldn't recommend that solution, but it's better then nothing.

cheers pof that's good to hear.... I expect if the admins are too busy and they made their version of vbulletin available in some form someone would have provided a patch for them by now.
Sorry don't know how to call it, but I have installed a newer schaps firmware and now I have the following tool I want to get rid of.
When I press on the right corner on the G(PRS), volume etc buttons, they are enlarged in a separate window (text balloon?). This means every time I want to access the volume or messages I have to go through 2 steps instead of 1, and I cannot change the volume of my phone just by scrolling the wheel, now the enlargement comes forward. (sorry for my bad english).
Is it possible to turn off this thing?

Sure, you can turn it off. Just go around somewhere in Start/Setting then you will see the menu enlargement icon to turn it on or off.

Now, as you've no doubt already found out, his instruction was for a totally seperate thing (for his sake - YOURS CHANGES THE SIZE OF THE ICONS ON THE START MENU when what the post actually asked was how to get rid of the speech bubble that comes up when you click on an icon...idiot)
What you need to do is to fire up a registry editor (handily, there's one included) and go to HKLM\Services and find the LargeTitleBar key.
Delete it. Restart. Job done

With all due respect to a senior member like you, i would like to tell you that whatever vichet007 has said is true and if you disable large start menu you can get rid of the bubble. So why unnecessary flame some guy who is trying to help.

I'd like to know what setting lyhouth is talking about. I searched in settings and could only find large and small keys settings.

Large Start Menu (and large Title Bar)
Having seen both functionalities (larger start menu as well as large Title bar bubble) as separate entities here:

i have concluded, that Schap's must have skillfully crafted one switch to simultaneously change the state of both settings.
This "Toggle switch" is found in:
Start -> Settings -> et voila "Large Start Menu"
While the larger style sure comes in handy for thumb use, it is a drawback of the large setting, that one cannot simply in- or decrease in call volume by simply using the scroll wheel but one has to remove the phone from the ear and set it manually via said big bubble.
Using the siple routine indicated above, one can decide for onesself, whether this feature combination caters to ones personal needs and preferences or not.
Being given the choice, along with the Advanced config tool et al. is what makes Schap's Roms so useful and great in my personal view. I must say I love them.

Sorry Mr Senior Lordsmiff for this inconvenience. I just do hope that my contribution/response can help because I used to do this when I have this issue (if I can understand this issue). Please just ignore my post if you think it's not helpful or it's wrong because I am not an expert like you, Mr Senior. 1st wana say im not a programer and i just have the right idea.. i cannot do it by myself but i decide to write it here and maybe some of you can be interested.
Its hard really but its inovation and worth the time because will change almost everything.
Now every single day we clearly can see that more and more the peoples start using they Pocket PC to surf in the net than the regular methood so.. all costumers LOVE the direct application.. like YouTube PLayer.. like many other because they dont need to open a browser and to type there the url.. and to wait to load.. they prefer ready APPs because is alot more easyer, Faster and Smooth with one single click you are there where you wana be.
My idea is:
Single Program.. that will be conected to a web address, in the web address can have actual INFO of alost everything.. from Wheater, Finances, Cinema, News, Sport, Flight tickets and many more.. you name it..depends how hard you wana do it..
So imagine one single APP in your device.. when you run it.. directly to appear like web page all the INFOs and you just choice what you wana chek today.. also will recognize the Country AREA and will show you exactly the INFO you need.
For example if you are from UK... when the app load you will be able to see the curency GBP to all other.. the corect wheater for your city, what movies will be played in the Cinema, Events, News and all this for UK... so with app like this you will be always in touch you do not need any more.. to read newspapers, or surf in internet to read some news etc.
Application like this will be inovation and will change everything in the MOBILE bussines.
This is the idea all rights reserved. If anyone is able to do such application will become Millionaire with SURE

I'm all for it! Hopefully Google will put it on android at least, but it would be amazing to have it on wm too, the mobile web version at the moment isn't very good.
