Why isn't the Home page on www.xda-developers.com opening properly?
I get the following message only: "Template->make_filename(): Error - file does not exist"!!!
I get that error but only when using internet explorer on my xda with wap over gsm.
Change in your profile the Board Style to XDAdevelopers.
No pages yet for the mobile profile.

i like to use this view sometimes to quickly browse through topics...not to mention the page seem to load faster.
If you go into your profile you can set it to mobile mode. Not quite as light as your example, but similar.

Hi Guys
I find that if I have a PIE home page set and I accidently activate the IE button I am running up data charges that I don't want.
Anyway if you set your homepage to "about:blank" then your homepage is a blank page, so no data charges when you start PIE.
If you have another page as homepage type in "about:blank" without "" and hit the green arrow, then set your homepage as current page i.e. about:blank.

Has anyone heard or learned something about the new WM6.1?
Some people say that the the main changes are the following:
-Copy / Paste
- Domain Enroll in Settings (Enrolling in a domain will connect your device with company resources.)
- New home screen (pan left and right to check out missed calls, notifications like email, sms, etc.)
- Change Master Security Code
- Added text input settings
- Recent Programs when pressing Start menu
- Threaded SMS!
- When you compose an email, or SMS, and start typing the name of the contact in the "To:" field, the contact names finally pop up like Windows Mobile Professional!
- Internet Explorer now lets you define a homepage, and also zoom in and out using a nice and clean interface

as has been mentioned before, windows mobile 6.1 with the carosel thingy is smartphones, not for phones that use a stylus.

Recently I've noticed that links in emails etc open in Internet Explorer as opposed to Opera. I'm running stock ROM, unbranded TP2 and have not altered any setting knowingly pertaining to the browser. Anyone got any ideas? I hate IE with a passion and dont want to see it anywhere?!
Update - Solution was setting the mime type handlers in registry to \windows\OperalL.exe %1
Did this for http and https.
Where can i find that registry.

Negative - that didn't work.

set Default key to \windows\OperaL.exe
Repeated the above for https key.

Funny, my method did the trick for me, on my TP2 the http and https keys were already set to opera....
I've been tying to add my town to the weather tab, and all the directions are so confusing I have the weather database editor and total comander. I just cant figure out to do, can someone give me simple instructions plz?!
I use a program called Weather City Editor, and it works like a charm. It's very simple, don't have to go in and edit any files. You just run the program, select country and state, add a city, enter the info for the city, and tap the "Add" soft key.

New City does not work
Hello I even tried to add 2 cities
Weiden, GER as EUR|DE|GM002|WEIDEN
Gilching, Ger as EUR|DE|GM002|GILCHING
both are selectable. But when I try to update the weather data, I get some error message.
"During the update, there has been a connection error. Try again?" (Same for activesync, wifi and GSM connection)
I never got an update of Weiden and Gilching.
Even tried the sqlite way for adding cities.
Any hints?

Found myself a solution I have reinstalled "Wether Databese Editor" and it worked!
It seemd that the reg entry from a post I found was not correct or sufficient.
