OrangeUK M500 2GB SD card

I purchased an 2gb Sandisk SD card for my M500 and seems the phone only supports 1gb SD card, can anyone tell me if there is a update or anything to let the phone use the 2gb instead of just 1gb
Thanks
Brian
That's odd :?
I have a SanDisk Ultra II 2gig SD card in my i-Mate Jam and it works perfectly.
somebody posted about some possibly fake sd card he got on ebay or something which was supposed to be 1GB but only could use 512MB
Update
I bought it from Sandisk, and it is the Sandisk Ultra II 2.0gb. If i format it on my Digi camera it formats it as an 2gb. My pc also see it as a 2gb. Its just my Orange M500 will not see it unless i format it, but the phone only formats it as a 1gb card.
Because of this i thought it was Orange stopping it, so i flashed my mobile to the I-mate Rom version 1.12.00 WWE , Rom Date 28/05/05 , Radio version 1.12.10 , Protocol Version 1337.42 , ExRom version 1.12.131 WWE, Windows Mobile 2003 SE, version 4.21.1088 (Build 15045.2.6.0) but it will still only see it as 1gb.
Thank

2GB card in my exec not working?

hi, new to the forum! i have just bought a sans disk 2GB card but im having trouble using it. i tried it in a friends card reader and managed to put a couple of mp3 albums on but then it makes the system freeze up until you take the card out, i have formated it and tried again but the same happens, similarly when i put it in my exec the phone works fine and can see the mp3s but when i try and load one it freezes. iv been looking for the answer to the problem and found some info on 2gb cards in hp's something about this fat/fat32 thing, is this the problem iv got and could someone enlighten me? also will i be able to format the card or whatever while it is in the exec and synced with pc as i do not have another card reader, although my friend has a pc one if i have to do it that way...
many thanks in advance.
Check your OS
This thing happens only when
you have initial ROM (update it wth latest ROM)
Card is not formatted on the same media (format it on your universal)
Card media is + technology which is not compatible with your mobile. (try to change it to SD instead of MMC)
I hope above may help you
sorry if im being dumb but how do i format the card on my universal?
simply format it in windows... I got a 2gb high speed card from samsung and I am using it without any problem without formating it even once
it could also be that the card is incompatible or your universal is faulty. try another card and that same card in some other device
the card iv got is a sandisk one, i read that it was compatible with the xda II so presumed it would be fine with the exec?
I think it's broken.
I had a 2GB from Transcend, and it had the same symptoms.
I returned it for RMA, because I read that someone else ad the 4GB version was working perfectely.
Before you do return it, buy another card reader. I had 1gb cards that corrupted seemingly, except a newer SD reader formatted them fine and they have been fine ever since.
Not all readers can handle the big sizes.

2gb cards wont regonize

Greetz people!
My problem is that my Herm200 wont regonize 2gb micro sd cards. Ive tried with SanDisk 2gb (not ultraII) and Kingston 2gb card. I use my Kingston 1gb card with no problems and have tried Kingston 512mb card also with no problems.
Ive tried formatting with fat and fat32.
Any ideas?
And im running Schap's 3.57a rom, wich is a great rom by the way. I tried the SanDisk card with other roms too, so i dont think the problem is related to the rom.
Dumb questions first - can a PC card reader access the card? If so, what filesystem is the card formatted in? Can't remember what it needs to be (FAT or FAT32) but if the PC can read it, format it to each until the phone can read it.
Yes card reader can read both of the 2gb card's (i have them both here) and i have tried fat and fat32 systems.
Strange since the Newer ROMs support 4GB cards the only thing I can think of is try playing with the card while its in pushing it agenst the contacts or pop the battery out and push the contacts down a little so it makes the card fit snug. I have no problems and never had with my 2GB scandisk SD card. also search the threads there was lots of reported problems before with SD cards but most of that was fixed with the new ROMs

SD or SDHC

guys i got the tmobile compact 3 and want to put a 4 or 8gb memory card in the phone.
just wondering which is better sd or sdhc, if so do i need any cab etc to run the disk?
also im running wm5
thanks
every SD Card which is bigger than 2GB is a SDHC Card.
And for SDHC Cards you need a patch, that the artemis can read it.
so both 4GB and 8GB are SDHC cards.
The only patch there is to run SDHC on the C-III is for WM6, there is a ROM upgrade that is from T-Mobile for WM6, I have it on my C-III which works fine with its 6GB SDHC card fitted - Mike

No SDHC 4GB error, Not enougth storage passing the 1GB barrier

I purchased a 4GB Kingston non SDHC memory.
Initially, it worked OK, I mean, the S200 recognise it on the fly, and I think it was fine, but then I began to copy MP3 files on it, when I reach the 1GB barrier, the OS give the error "not enougth storage space".
Anyone can help me?
I tried WM6 Shadow 2.0 TE and WM6.1 modded by MaxSnipper.
Than it must be a fake SD Card! I've only heared such things with fake SD Cards!
