No SDHC 4GB error, Not enougth storage passing the 1GB barrier - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Accessories

I purchased a 4GB Kingston non SDHC memory.
Initially, it worked OK, I mean, the S200 recognise it on the fly, and I think it was fine, but then I began to copy MP3 files on it, when I reach the 1GB barrier, the OS give the error "not enougth storage space".
Anyone can help me?
I tried WM6 Shadow 2.0 TE and WM6.1 modded by MaxSnipper.

Than it must be a fake SD Card! I've only heared such things with fake SD Cards!

1 gb sd card - won't upload beyond 716mb

I've just bought a pqi 1gb sd card but can't upload more than 716 mb of data even though settings on my pda tell me I've got 976 mb to play with and there's 257 mb free. When I try and copy using active sync I can't. It tells me there is insufficient room - yet the display shows there is 257mb free. why? Is the card defective?
Have you tried using a card reader? Activesync seems to be problematic when dealing with large files.
Thanks, but I don't have an sd card reader. It seems to read fine if I delete some of the files and replace them again but then it sticks at 715mb. These are mp3 files so not particularly large. Even if i try and add word or excel files it still won't let me beyond 715mb.
Well.. actually my PQI SD 1Gb card is loaded with 875Mb and i have more or less 99Mb free. I used activesync to copy the files on the PDA, so i think that your problem is not on the activesync connection. I have an i-mate PDA2K, and with activesync 3.71 and PQI SD 1Gb card i don't have the problem that you found, maybe your card is defective!
Funny, I've just deleted everything from my 512mb sd card and yet the pda settings are telling me I've got 19.94 mb in use on the card even though I've nothing on that card? I'm wondering if my settings are correct? Can you set an upload limit onm the xda2?
Ignore last post. No probs with my 512 cards. This 1gb card must be defective. Why else can't I upload more than 715mb of mp3s to the card?
Try pocket Mechanic and Format yor SD-Card with another FAT system.

8GB SDHC card on HTC Universal ?

Does the HTC Universal Support the new 8 GB SDHC cards ? If, not what is the highest capacity the HTC Universal supports ?
sorry the Universal does not support SDHC, & the max capacity accepted with a SDcard is 4GB.
Are you sure ? Have you tried it. Accoriding to sandisc, HTC Universal only support 2 GB SD:
http://www.sandisk.com/Compatibility/Device(8013)-Dopod-900.aspx
http://www.sandisk.com/Compatibility/Device(8020)-T-Mobile-MDA_Pro.aspx
also says 2GB for the jamin and I've got 4gb works fine (fat32)
http://www.sandisk.com/Compatibility/Device(8106)-i-mate-jamin.aspx
still optimistic
I am using 4GB for the past one month in my JJ. No issues....

My one works with 4GB OK
SD card suppliers are just trying to cover themselves.
As I understand it, the Universal works with 4GB cards but some applications don't, for example the camera application will not work if the card has more than 2GB of free space.
Mike
I think that was prior to the AKU2 ROM updates that the camera had a problem.
Cheers,
Steve.

The camera works but cannot keep the images in the SD if it does not have LESS of 2GB free.
As I say, I thought that had been addressed in the latest ROMs - not tried it myself, so could be wrong.
Cheers,
Steve.
4 GB SD Card
hey mikew
what do you mean by the camera application wont work if the card has moe than 2 GB of free space. do you mean to say with the 4 GB SD card the camera wont work at all.
if the SD card is more than 2 GB full, will the camera work?
how do i know if i have the AKU2 ROM update?
4GB using 2GB buffer - Jasjar, HTC equivalent
Just to confirm, Jasjar, HTC equivalent unit, does recognize & work with 4GB SD card; however, to make camera store to card - fill up the card first with 2GB of junk files, then camera storage works as it should... this is with latest firmware. Delete junk files as you need the storage, but keep card above the 2GB threshold. I've experienced no other storage based issues using the 2GB buffer, with any program used to date.
I have tryed CoolCamera, and saving pics to my 4Gb was not a problem. Then i changed firmware and had to fill 2Gb with files in order to save pics to SD card.
I am not using camera on my O2 EXEC, but with cool camera i could save pict direct to my 4Gb card.
If you buying 4Gb card it means you have a lot of things to put on tit, so using up 2 Gb is not a problem.
TomTom with 6 maps is 1Gb
8GB SDHC can see only 3.5GB
Hi, I just bougth 8GB Toshiba class 4 SDHC card
after install SDHC.cab, my universal can see only 3.5GB of data, but My PC can see up to 7.5GB.
I copy data over 3.5GB from my PC and check in my universal, i found that it sees the data folder and name, but once I click on the file, it said the file doese not exit. I try on PC, the result is no problem.
I have been trying to find the way to partition my new SDHC card to 2 drive hoping it will solve this problem, but so far have no luck.....
Can anyone help me out ?
Thanks so much

I used the SDHC Hack and I can now read and write 5GBs of 8GBs on my SDHC Card in my Samsung i730..I was wondering if you or anyone else found a way to partition it, say into two FAT16 4GB partitions so we can use the entire thing? Thanks.
16GB and 8GB SDHC cards should work fine on the Universal with the SDHC.cab patch.

2gb cards wont regonize

Greetz people!
My problem is that my Herm200 wont regonize 2gb micro sd cards. Ive tried with SanDisk 2gb (not ultraII) and Kingston 2gb card. I use my Kingston 1gb card with no problems and have tried Kingston 512mb card also with no problems.
Ive tried formatting with fat and fat32.
Any ideas?
And im running Schap's 3.57a rom, wich is a great rom by the way. I tried the SanDisk card with other roms too, so i dont think the problem is related to the rom.
Dumb questions first - can a PC card reader access the card? If so, what filesystem is the card formatted in? Can't remember what it needs to be (FAT or FAT32) but if the PC can read it, format it to each until the phone can read it.
Yes card reader can read both of the 2gb card's (i have them both here) and i have tried fat and fat32 systems.
Strange since the Newer ROMs support 4GB cards the only thing I can think of is try playing with the card while its in pushing it agenst the contacts or pop the battery out and push the contacts down a little so it makes the card fit snug. I have no problems and never had with my 2GB scandisk SD card. also search the threads there was lots of reported problems before with SD cards but most of that was fixed with the new ROMs

SD or SDHC

guys i got the tmobile compact 3 and want to put a 4 or 8gb memory card in the phone.
just wondering which is better sd or sdhc, if so do i need any cab etc to run the disk?
also im running wm5
thanks
every SD Card which is bigger than 2GB is a SDHC Card.
And for SDHC Cards you need a patch, that the artemis can read it.
so both 4GB and 8GB are SDHC cards.
The only patch there is to run SDHC on the C-III is for WM6, there is a ROM upgrade that is from T-Mobile for WM6, I have it on my C-III which works fine with its 6GB SDHC card fitted - Mike

Amsam 810

My Amsam will only read a 2gb card.It is supposed to take up to 8gb.
The AMsam website used to have a patch that was available for download but it does not have it now.
DOes anyone have the patch AMSAM_SDHC_DRIVE_SUPPORT_8G.CAB
I managed to get the driver.
So if anyone wants it send me a PM and il email it to you.
THe only problem now is that it wont work with a 4Gb card.
Although i might be using the wrong card.
The card that came with the phone was a Transcend Micro SD 2GB
The card i am trying to use is a Kingston Micro SDHC 4GB
I have formatted the card to FAT32 and it still wont work.SO my questions are
(1)Are these different cards and thats why they wont work
(2)Am i formatting the file incorrectly ?
Thank You in Advance
be happy
install this cab and enjoy with your 4 or 8 or 16 GB
